Mews Thai in Wyre

Party visited early March in a group. Advised by establishment to have set menu for larger parties which was restrictive but a £25 tag. One party had specific diet/gluten allergy and was still served wrong dish. Staff luckily recognised mistake minutes later. Some of the dishes were absolutely delicious, but due to the groups size, the small bowls barely amounted to a distribution of the variety offered by the set menu. Rice bowls were small and were not sufficient between the four people per table. Felt like profit was the priority of the set menu and minimal food offered per head. The drinks were also unbelievably expensive. Staff rushed us through as they wanted tables back by a certain time, however they were slow at delivering the meal. This explains the use of the set menu for larger groups. The turnover would have been slower if we were allowed choice. Feel like is not the place it used to be years ago nor warm and welcoming to groups. Groups should avoid busy times or perhaps go elsewhere. I would revisit this as a single table.

We have been her a few times and never been disappointed, this meal was very good, it was a birthday meal, very enjoyable.

Sorry but one of the worst experiences of my life, waited 50 minutes for my starter to arrive. And they missed the starter out an served my main. This was a special occasion and totally ruined the evening. The service is so poor too busy serving takeouts. Decided to walk out just paying for the drinks. A good restaurant that has lost its way.

Helps to switch on an answer machine when closed for any length of time. Wastes customers time constany calling only to find out they are away for two weeks! Otherwise must have Thai Food!

Food was good although service was a little slow. Pointed out a cracked glass that we had used but not noticed - no apology received which probably wouldn't bother me until we were asked to leave as they were 'turning the tables' and a large party were waiting. Rude.

Having our purchased shift set from Dani's other business - Salt of the Earth - and was so impressed I wanted try the well reviewed Thai Mews se also runs. Amazing - well beyond expectations which were quite high as the restaurant came highly recommended Really good food and lovely service - very impressed indeed

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and it was one of my favourites. The food has always been exceptional. Sadly it is now under new ownership and the food is at best average. The restaurant used to always be packed and on a sunny Friday evening the upstairs was totally empty. The menu has significantly reduced in size, it no longer feels authentic and we could hear the pinging of a microwave coming from the kitchen. We fed-back our views to the waitress, who was lovely, and disappeared to tell the manager/chef but no one came to speak to us. Really sad to see what was a fabulous restaurant turn mediocre.

Waited over an hour for our main course, won't be going again

A cold and wet Tuesday night after a business meeting in Fleetwood doesn’t have many options for a decent meal so we decided to try Poulton and gave The Mews a call. Fortunately they were able to fit us in as two people were just finishing, and the sight of a full restaurant on a foul night early in the week was really encouraging. Everything about our meal was great. Friendly and efficient service and tasty and well presented food. We had plenty to eat and with drinks, although not many, the bill was only £50. Would definitely come back here again

It was a busy Saturday night. Our starters came in good time but then we waited well over an hour and a half for our mains. There was little reassurance from the staff about the length of time it was taking. 2 tables left without eating as they were tired of waiting. The starters were ok but the mains were very disappointing. Thai food is usually bursting with flavour but this was pretty bland and totally underwhelming. It was a terrible shame as I had been told that the food here was amazing. Not tonight. I won't be spending my hard earned cash here again. I booked our table for 7.30pm but we weren't eating our mains until 10pm.

Booked a table for 2 @ 7:30 online for valentines night. Called by half an hour in advance to check everything was ok and running on time , we were informed yes no problem. On returning at the correct time the downstairs was full with a crowd of customers waiting at the booking area. It was obvious they were overbooked , very little staff and looked chaotic. We eventually got sat upstairs when I asked how long it might take to order and then receive food.. all I repeatedly got was... we are very very busy. It was clear hardly anyone was eating , clearly they do not have a full up / stop facility on their booking system , on top of this they were massively understaffed. We decided to leave as we felt it would take far too long to wait. Chaotic , under staffed & poorly managed. We have eaten here several times and the food has always been amazing therefore we will definitely eat here again but will visit at quieter times and definitely not using the online booking system. Please change your booking system and help the staff out by employing more of them.

I had a great time with my friends for my birthday and the restaurant prepared a nice table with glitter and balloons for me. God! Great food we ordered 3 dishes pat kapow Panang curry and Tom yum Ordered in Tha language as I wanted to practice it I was also with my Thai wife drinking Thai beer the waitress knew I had previously lived in Thailand Sadly the Tom yum wasn't half as spicy as it should be when I complained I was told it was my fault I should said Thai style

The restaurant is very nice, clean and spacious. Lots of space inside. A good menu choice. Nice wine but slightly over priced. Starters also quite expensive. The main meals tasted good but very small portions. Wouldn't fill the average guy. Only ice cream for dessert a bit disappointing. Coffee machine broken so no coffee available. Hopefully will be mended in the future. Staff all fine. Overall okay meal.

Visited with family for a birthday celebration on 7/1/23 and left feeling utterly underwhelmed. The staff do work hard but little to none communication regarding our food. Hour and half for starters and an additional hour wait for our mains. I can appreciate it’s a busy Saturday night but no cares given when we have expressed our concerns about the wait time. Food was nice but 100% will not be visiting here again. 2& 1/2 hours for a 2 course meal is absolutely ridiculous!

In an alleyway in one of the oldest buildings in Poulton-le-Fylde lies a hidden gem of a restaurant. Wonderful food (the best Thai food we have had in the UK) and good atmosphere. Went with 2 couples when visiting the area. One couple live in Blackpool and have been there a number of times and rate it highly stating "the food is always this good".

Group of 9 had an amazing night with first class food. Highly recommend and can not wait to return again.

Went here on Sunday evening. Easy to book online and lovely greeting on arrival. We had our meals from the early bird menu. So much choice for starters, it was hard which to have! My husband had the ribs and I had the pork toasties. Absolutely gorgeous food. For main I had chicken sweet and sour with egg fried rice, my husband had a chicken garlic dish with steamed rice. Very generous portions with fresh vegetables and well presented. We really enjoyed all our food and would definitely recommend.

I love this place, it has the best Red Thai Curry outside of Thailand, hands down - and I've tried a fair few in my time!! The service was a bit slow tonight. And my mum's Dessert, the Mochi balls were pretty horrid, otherwise it'd be a 5* review every time. Cute and cosy, the Thai food is exceptional and the staff are lovely. Highly recommended

The service was exceptional. All servers really friendly and attentive. The service was very speedy. Made us feel very welcome. The food was absolutely delicious. I had vegetarian massaman curry. It was so flavoursome and tasty! The vegetarian and options are endless. Love the staff there though - they are so lovely.

Four of us went on a Friday night. Food was fabulous however the service very slow. We were left waiting for 40 minutes before our order was taken and then another 30 minutes until the food arrived. Staff were very apologetic however not the normal experience.

Came tonight with the missus for the first time and it was fabulous, service was excellent and the food was phenomenal, starter was the mews combination 10/10 mains (don't judge as I can eat 🤣) Red curry + Green curry both 10/10 and to finish the phad Thai noodles 🤤. Busy Sunday evening. Very friendly staff. Several drink and food items not available. Very slow delivery of food. Waited about an hour for starters then long wait again for mains when it arrived it was worth the wait.

Fantastic !!! , my first time in the Mews so a very pleasant surprise. We booked a table for five at 20,30 and we was a little late but the table was ready and the restaurant was full and a good atmosphere , drinks ordered first and a good choice of bottle Thai beer , ten minutes later the starters and main order was taken , the starters came after ten minutes and absolutely beautiful, short brake before the main meal and again cooked to perfection , the overall experience was fantastic, staff couldn't do enough for you, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, price's fare for the quality of the food , £140 for five starters and main plus three rounds of drinks . Definitely top of my list of places to eat in Poulton ,

I made a recent enquiry to the Thai Mews, (but when management didn't return my call I made second) for a 60th meal on 29th December when you would think anywhere would be pleased to take a large table on a quieter night between Christmas & New Year. However, the management didn't even have the courtesy to get back to me with an answer. I feel this is nothing if not the height of ignorance and we shall NOT be frequenting here again. Very poor customer service!

Unfortunately not the usual good experience this time following a change of ownership. The main course banquet option is no longer available although there is a starter option for two offering. Despite the apparent abundance of service staff, each food course was considerably delayed although the occupancy and empty tables on the night did not support this as the probable reason. The food was tasty enough and the portion sizes were just adequate but not the usual 'generous'.

We've been visiting the Mews Thai for a very long time, 20 years or so, it's a pleasant enough place in a lovely town. I have never been able to fault the food and service. It can take a while to get served if you are in a big group but that is the same anywhere. It isn't particularly expensive either, definitely value for money. Personal recommendations would be either the honey and soy duck or the Thai sweet basil, soy and chilli noodles.

What a disaster. Having been highly recommended the Mews restaurant we booked a table for our first visit for 8pm 25.07.2020. we arrived 10 minutes early to be met by an aggressive older blonde waitress who literally shooed us back out of the door saying that there wasn't a table for us. When I pointed out that we had a booking, she very rudely said well there's nothing I can do I haven't got a table, what do you want me to do about it?. So..as there was no other option we left and went for a drink and returned at the new time she'd barked at us. On return we were met by a Thai lady who when we gave our name to tried to say we were now too late as our booking was for 8pm. We explained that we'd been sent away originally by her colleague and were now back at the time she'd given. The Thai lady gestured for us to go upstairs. There we were confronted by the original blonde older waitress who pointed for us to take a seat on some sofas to wait for a table. At this point as she handed us menu's to look at she asked us if we'd seen the news recently and were we aware that things weren't normal. I told her that I found her aggressive tone patronising and that her earlier performance was totally rude and unnecessary, of course we are aware of the Covid-19 situation, which is why we had booked well in advance and given her the benefit of the doubt when she very rudely addressed us in the first instance. Her whole demeanor was totally unacceptable and she caused a very hostile and uncomfortable situation. She told us that if we had a problem we should take it up with her boss as it was his fault for over booking and over working her.. not good enough - as a customer we should not be privy to this information. So boss if you are reading this first and foremost you need to hire staff who have some kind of level of customer service. If you're thinking of giving her a rise... don't, she will cost you all of your customers with her appalling attitude. Secondly, you really don't need to worry about making it up to us because we absolutely won't be coming back. I don't even want to leave one star, but unfortunately I can't warn anyone about our experience without giving/selecting a star!!!

I would love to be able to echo the reviews which compliment the food here at Mews Thai, however I’m afraid that after such appalling ‘service’ (to the point where we felt obliged to leave before even looking at a menu) I’m left with no choice but to echo those reviews which point out the unbelievably rude staff member employed here. The blonde waitress was the complete antithesis of what I would expect from wait staff. She was hostile, hot headed and confrontational beyond belief. I’ve never been made to feel like such an inconvenience, and will certainly NOT be coming back!

We visited on a busy on Saturday evening , after a 10 minute wait we were shown to our table. The first thing you notice is the great atmosphere and friendly staff. We had a selection of Thai starters, the batter on the prawns was very thick however the stand out for me was the hot and sour soup which was extremely flavoursome.The sea bass cooked in spicy chilly oil with vegetables was the pick of the main courses. Very good service,but be prepared to wait as all the food is freshly cooked.
