Staff was really friendly Good is the room I would recommend this hotel as it is walking distance from everything but the rooms was not so clean and mangers not so friendly I would only recommend this hotel if you don’t plan to stay in the room and your only planing on sleeping then you should be fine just make sure you ask for a heater in the room as the rooms are freezing cold and I mean ice cold the rooms

The place looks good and it is in city centre. That is all that is good about this place. They gave us early checkin but we paid 26 euros extra for that, so make of that what you will. Rooms are old, small, and they have a weird smell. Bathrooms are even worse. Shower head fell on my toe because it was connected by old rotten material. Wifi signal was so low that it barely ever connected. Even a single Water bottle was not even provided because we were in a basic room that only costed 100 euros per night. There is a window which doesnt open so it feels suffocated. There was no room service even for a day. It was way too difficult to turn on the hot shower. Breakfast was ok though. So basically u r getting an old rundown apartment room for the price of around 100 euros.

Very pleased with the majority of my stay except the fact my room wasn't turned over on the day of 24th December despite me leaving the 'please come in' sign on the door. I had to go to reception after returning to my room to get tea bags and milk for the following morning.

Comfy beds, nice food, lovely staff. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome, looked after, and to help you out. Arrived just as the kitchen was closing but they still conjured me up a very tasty burger and fries from the menu. Stacey and Sanjeev were extra lovely in the morning getting me a wee breakfast pack, and filling my coffee cup to take away to my meeting. The chef working on Friday 20th was so nice and gave me a lovely lemon posset to cheer me up after I'd been to a funeral that day. Thank you, a wee kind gesture that meant a lot. The bar staff were very friendly and warm too. Breakfasts are great, lots of choice. Hotel is close to George Square and everything else you would need in central Glasgow. I will look forward to staying again.

The breakfasts were not very good and they were almost always out of what you went for. Then you had to wait for the folks in the back room to make it up and bring it out. The staff were working hard to clean dishes and all, but none of them too the moment to peek in the food containers to see what the remaining food was. We happened to have stayed in this place some 10 years ago and then we got one of the "tiny" rooms. This time we got a bigger room. Better, but different issues: we both have iPhones and iWatches, my wife had an iPad, I have to plug in my hearing aids and camera battery. There was ONE USB port on each side of the bed and no electrical plug to use a bulk charger. Overall, it was an ordeal to get things charged up. Oh, no place to hang your towels so they could dry for the following day. Bathroom counter space was "limited."

Good city centre location just around the corner from both train stations (Central and Queen Street). Double rooms were small but adequate for needs, clean but outdated and in require of modernisation. No plug sockets near bed, so phone could not be charged and sat beside you for use as alarm clock. Shower was good and hot. View from window was terrible, basically back of other buildings. Staff that we met were lovely. Breakfast was very good and very fresh and hot. I felt that there was a lack of security on entering the hotel. Anyone could walk in the main entrance and go up to bedrooms in the lifts. This could easily be fixed with keycards being required for lift access. Overall, for a city centre hotel, I was satisfied for a one night stay.

The location is perfect for visiting the city on foot. The staff is smiling, efficient and attentive whether at reception or at breakfast. Being a gold customer we were upgraded to a privilege room but it is too small, impossible to open 2 suitcases. The carpet is really worn with stains. The welcome in the room with fruit and wine is a pleasant surprise. The bedding is comfortable. There are no electrical outlets at the head of the bed; in this day and age we have a lot of devices to plug in. There is no water pressure in the shower. In the afternoon it is cold in the room and in the evening a constant sound of water between the bedroom and the bathroom is unpleasant for falling asleep.

Erin was at the front desk, she was brilliant, she was to helpful. There was Milly, she was on hand during breakfast on Saturday, she was so sweet and couldn't do enough. The breakfast was really enjoyable, also dinner was good, I needed to have a change for one of the meals, because of allergies, and the chef was more than accomodating , he came out and checked to make sure I was ok. The head of housekeeping Joy, she has recently been hired, she was a real gem , nothing bad to say. I would definitely stay there again, and I told all my friends as well, they were a bit jealous because they were staying at other places and didn't have the same experience as I did. I really debated on my review. First, it was quite warm in the room. Second, if you wanted a breeze; you needed to open a window, which would have been fine except for the noise. We had so much commotion till 0330 from the screaming and yelling in the alley way. I believe we finally were able to sleep at 0400. So, we did not get much sleep. The saving grace was Breakfast. It truly was a AMAZING. Now, it is not the fault of the hotel for the noise, and maybe sleeping in an inner room might be better.

I stayed with my classmates and teachers. Out of about 6-7 rooms we were in only 1 room had almost no complaints. Air didn't circulate, the bed sheets were nasty, floor was nasty, window wouldn't open at all, the view was a dirty alleyway, room was tiny, the staff didn't want to help and blamed us on the air, mold in the bathroom, the ventilator kept us awake all night, the blankets ran out. How does a hotel not have enough blankets?! Sleeping on the street would be better we wouldn't have wasted any money on that hotel. The managers probably don't want to renovate since it costs them money. Bottom of the Barrel 1 hotel. On a more positive end. The location was fantastic, the food was good enough and I liked some of the staff that were nice enough. Will not return though!

The location was very convenient as I could go to the university where I work, the airport bus stop, and shopping in about 5 minutes on foot. It was also helpful that the surrounding area was safe and it was a place where I could walk around with peace of mind. The hotel stay also had tea, Nespresso, and mineral water in the room, and the bathroom was clean and easy to use. It was a long stay, so it would have been helpful to have a storage space for clothes.

We stayed because my partner was graduating the next day and we thought that a hotel in the city would give us a stress-free morning before a long day. My room was rotten and clearly had not been cleaned in a while. The carpet was covered in dirt and food, crumbs, and crisps. Our nice clothes got stained because there were random puddles of make-up on the carpet, furniture and somehow on the do not disturb sign which smeared all over my partners graduation dress. The shower water did not get warm and there was no soap (just shampoo). The noise level was absolutely crazy. We tried to find a room in another hotel so that we could immediately check out of Mercure because it was horrible, but the city was fully booked. We would literally have had the same experience camping in a tent outside of the graduation venue. We got no sleep and were shattered the next day. I cannot believe they charged me £180 for that room.

When I booked this hotel I had no idea how perfect the location was, easy to get to from the airport shuttle and convenient to several train stations. Very friendly staff, particularly the woman running the (delicious) breakfast service, who ran a very tight ship! The rooms and common areas were all immaculate. The best shower I've had at any hotel in the UK. Only hiccup I had at any point in my stay was trying to get back into the hotel on Sunday just after midnight, I rang the front buzzer a few times and was eventually let back into the hotel by another guest who was sat in the lobby.

The Mercure is just a 5-10 minute walk away from Glasgow Queen Street train station and in the Merchant City part of town. So perfect for a night out or city centre meeting. I didn't use the parking so I don't know about this. The first staff member I met at breakfast stank of cigarette, but the rest were perfectly amicable. The room was fine. It had a shower, TV clean bed, but definitely not sound proof. The breakfast was good. Didn't run out food. Plenty of options, including haggis. The lifts were working.

Pretty grim for the price. The room was pretty shabby overall, lots of things needed attention, poor plumbing , carpets and generally a bit worn and tired plus the window rattled. Radiator knocked every 40 mins , apparently was being fixed but over the three nights never happened. The staff were arguing on arrival , bar staff were on a go slow and grunted. The room was Prestige so was larger and had apparently a city view. Good job I didn't go for the small one! On a plus note the breakfast was great. But would have worked out better going to the spoons each morning. Also issues with the prices quoted and charged

Went in for lunch with colleagues on a Monday (just before Christmas). The place was very busy with plenty of locals. The food was superb, a mixture of lasagnes, Bolognese & venison stews around the table and no complaints from anyone. I would say a starter took time to be brought out to one guest, even though it was a simple pate (which was also tasty).

Stopped in here on a Friday around 5pm to meet a bunch of friends. The place was packed out but we eventually found a corner where we could stand and talk. Bar service was okay but to be fair they were very busy. I ordered a coke with no ice however I couldn't drink it as it was like syrup and incredibly sweet. Been here before at different times, it's a decent pub but best avoided on a Friday/Saturday night unless you want to feel like sardines in a can.
