Had a works night at the Mercure,Function room was really nice.All staff very friendly especially the Manager Angela who went over and above to make sure our night went smoothly.What can I say about the food,the Indian buffet was out of this world hats off to Praveen the chef

I recently had a fantastic stay at the Mercure Hotel in Glasgow! From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. A special thanks to Rohan, Mathew, and their colleagues their hospitality, friendliness, and helpfulness truly made a difference. They were always ready to assist and offered great tips for places in the city. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the heart of the city centre, within walking distance of shops, restaurants. Ideal for a weekend getaway or a midweek stay in Glasgow. All in all, highly recommended! I’ll definitely be back.

We stayed at the Mercure Hotel in Glasgow city centre and had a really pleasant experience. The location is absolutely perfect — right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore everything Glasgow has to offer. A special mention goes to Rowan and Mathew from the staff, who were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side, but they were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a short stay. We also appreciated the luggage storage service before check-in — very convenient for travellers arriving early. Overall, the service was great and genuinely friendly. I’d happily stay here again next time I’m in Glasgow.

Rooms are on the small side, but tidy. Breakfast is lovely and the service is amazing! Rohan and Matthew took such good care of us and made us feel at home.

Hired the function room to host a corporate event. The staff were exceptional, and the event ran seamlessly, special thanks to Angela (Ops Manager). Not to mention the food was outstanding thanks to the catering provided by Praveen.

I didn't book at this hotel myself. My booking was at another hotel and I was out booked to Mercure. The staff were very friendly and supportive especially Gabriel at reception. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked the products in the bathroom very much. The location was to noisy for my liking.

Easy to get to from the airport as the 500 bus stops a couple of streets away - conveniently located in the heart of historic Georgian Glasgow, this hotel is a great place for a weekend break.

JOY, as her name suggests, was one of my favourites. Her services were top notch. She was always available when we needed her and was very kind to us. Must visit again and again!!

For some reason the room service did not clean our room after we got back from our trip. When we called the operator, he said nothing can be done except for towel exchange since it is already too late. So here we are, ‘enjoying’ our bed time with disorganize/dirty room and bed. Disappointed with the service provided. Edit: Ms Joy has got back to me on this matter. Overall, I’m satisfied with the feedback taken by them. Thank you Mercure Hotel.

The staff were friendly, the breakfast was quite good, and the price was reasonable. We weren't entirely convinced by the room, though. It was very small, and there was barely any room to open our suitcases. Furthermore, the window could only be opened a centimeter. Supposedly for "security reasons." Ventilation was therefore practically impossible.

The Mercure has a perfect location, the employees that we encountered were all welcoming, friendly and courteous. The buffet breakfast was well presented and enjoyable. It is such of a shame that the basic housekeeping was so poor, the carpet in our room was disgustingly dirty, consequently, we had to go out and purchase slippers, as there was no way I could walk barefoot. The mattress was so dirty that had I seen it on arrival I would NOT have stayed. I can understand wear and tear, but dirt is not acceptable in any hospitality establishment. The hotel Manager and the Housekeeper should be ashamed.

The location is excellent however the rooms are tiny and there is no control of the temperature in the room and you cannot get any air into the room. The display and quality of the breakfast os poor. It would be worth not having/paying for breakfast and getting something elsewhere as there are many places ro choose from hat are close.

Reception was cheerful and helpful. We arrived very early and put our luggage in their luggage room until our room was ready which was earlier than expected. While we thought the room was a bit on the small side it was very clean and had the standard amenities. We would suggest taking an upgrade. Overall, a pleasant stay. No issues.

Super friendly and helpful receptionist Joy. Rooms are on the small side but really clean and modern and well kitted out and very comfy bed. Great location in city centre, really useful to have the monitored car park at the back of the hotel. Overall great value.

Unfortunately, my stay was quite disappointing. The room was extremely small, lacked air conditioning, and the windows couldn’t be opened, making it uncomfortably hot and stuffy at night—especially for two people. The curtain kept falling down, and there was constant loud noise from outside, making it nearly impossible to sleep. Additionally, the non-slip mat in the bathtub was unhygienic, with full of snot, which made showering very unpleasant. I was surprised by the poor condition of the room, especially from a reputable chain like Mercure. Although I considered requesting a room change, we had an early flight and couldn’t manage the hassle.

An outstanding service by Joy who was very welcoming and accommodating, she deserves a promotion and bonus for her brilliant work ethic and personality. Chef Praveen prepared a delicious Korean chicken and Brandon was always ready to help with any queries. Great hotel, staff and experience. Wish all hotels were like that.

Room was very clean, roomy (as requested) & it had excellent attention to detail! Staff were very professional yet friendly & all bent over backwards to help regarding any query we had. This is our third stay & I would highly recommend this hotel. The only issue I had was disabled access as I use a mobility scooter… the lift was very small & access to the lift from street level was very awkward. Although staff were very helpful when assistance was requested.

"Joy by name, Joy by nature" the young lady that works here called Joy made so much effort to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. My Wife booked this hotel for us to see a show as part of my continued 50th Birthday celebrations, when we checked in the gentleman on the counter wished me a Happy Birthday, then when entered our room there's was a lovely message on our mirror for me along with some little gestures on our bed. We later found out that it was Joy who greeted us at breakfast and was so attentive and friendly that had done this, the absolute right person to have a front of house. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I stayed overnight prior to an early ride north with the Caledonian Sleeper. For this the hotel location was great. Rohan at reception was friendly and helpful. My Accor status was recognised and I was upgraded to a really nice room. Also there was a nice Malbec included as a welcome drink. The room was really big and well laid out. On the small downsides there was a bit of noise from the road. A fridge would also have been nice in the room. But considering the price and location it was excellent value and I slept very well.

The staff were excellent and so helpful and friendly ( especially Ellie on the reception) the staff were always smiling and happy and attentive to your needs , joy was very kind.

Place is absolutely disgusting I have stayed in many many hotels over the world this place is the worst I have experienced staff not from Scotland hotel looks like a war zone beds not clean overall close it down I have started a page to close down hotles like this

The location is great, including the staffs. Very helpful and friendly. Different breakfast can be served for the buffet, which I didn't really enjoy having the same items for a week. The rest is good!

It was a pleasure staying at mercure , though the rooms were very small in size but the staff has a very big heart at service , chef praveen "The" pillar of the property with his team like chef vikas , vijay the best chefs I've ever met , Rohan has all the knowledge his hospitality and friendly behavior deserves a 5 star 🌟 🤩, joy is not in staying when u are not greeted by m/s joy the head house keeper , Stacy is all the times on her toes to serve u ,The entire staff who ever interacted may it be Mr pathania , and other heirarchy members have been very helpful and have a desire to serve guests , they all made my entire stay comfortable and we felt like staying in our home . The entire team deserved a 5 star . I would suggest the higher management to reward them all and make each and every one employee of the month . All deserve it.

I stay in alot of hotels with work, the staff here are by far the most friendly and accommodating I’ve ever met. They genuinely care about providing a great service, especially Stacey on breakfast.

We had booked a non refundable stay on Thursday night when Storm Eowyn ruined our plans as we couldn't travel. However, the staff kindly rearranged our stay to the following Friday and we only had to pay a little extra due to it being a busy night. The location of the hotel is fantastic for local restaurants and bars. The room was very comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. We love our overnight stays to decompress and we will be back.

I recently stayed in The Mercure hotel in Glasgow. The location is great being close to the Queen St Railway station and also very close to many great restaurants and bars. I would like to mention Joy on reception. She always goes above and beyond to make sure everything is 100%. During my last stay there was a small issue and she solved it immediately . Also, the breakfast is excellent and has a great choice of pastries, cooked breakfast, cereals and continental. I would like to mention Stacey who has a "can do" positive attitude always makes sure everything is ok and resolves any issues immediately. The only negative with the hotel is that the bathrooms are slightly dated and need some upgrading.

Absolutely horrible. Paid over 100 pound for the room and it was disgraceful, wall paper coming off the walls then got a “upgraded room” which the bed looked like someone relieved themselves in it, the bath had a hole in it, the floor was disgusting with marks all over it. A section of the wall where there was electrical wires where showing And hotel said I wasn’t getting my money back after I left and went to citizenM hotel which was 100 times better. The staff at this hotel stated they had slept in this hotel and thought it was fine after showing the photos of how the room looked and wouldn’t do anything to make the situation better. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in !!!!!!!!

I have just finished a 3 week stay at the mercure in Glasgow. My room was in need of a little TLC but it was clean and comfortable. Without exception, the staff were super friendly and accommodating. It was clear to me they are a great team of people. Breakfasts were very good and made all the better by Stacey who was so welcoming and attentive and gave an absolutely first class service. I would also mention Joy, another super nice lady. I don’t know other names but as I said without exception everyone did their best to ensure I had a great stay.

I was out shopping with the missus and whilst she was looking for suitable bras, I needed a place to relax and wait. I came into the mercure bar and I couldn’t have picked a better place to spend my time. Joy was behind the bar and she couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating! She is an absolute credit to the hotel. Next time I Need to stay overnight in Glasgow, I shall stay at the mercure! Let’s hope The other staff are as in diligent and attentive as Joy

Great staff, Emma is very helpful and friendly. Food is great, and fresh. It's nice to see the chef coming and going checking on the breakfast food. And was happy to accommodate a special request. My only grip would be the drip or clicking sound from the radiator at night in room 604.

I was here for a business training meeting. We had lunch served on the ground floor. Was impressed with the attention of the staff and the food we were served with. Good location too as I travelled by train. Would come again.

Situated in the centre of Glasgow and is easily accessible. The room is as described and quiet. The service has been amazing from the person who checked me in, sorry didn't catch your name, to Rohan at breakfast.

All the staff were great! From the front desk, to the wait staff, to the kitchen, they were all very kind, and helpful, my entire stay. I've stayed here every time I've needed to stay in Glasgow, and it's always been a nice experience.

The property is located 2 minutes from George Square and on one of the main arteries of the city where you can find high fashion clothing shops and a merchant city with several international restaurants. The staff is always professional, kind and willing to listen. I was assigned room 506 but as previously mentioned the hotel needs to be renovated due to the carpet, furniture and bathroom. The noise level needs to be improved both internally and externally due to windows that need to be replaced. The wifi connection is not always stable but fast. The breakfast is complete with the possibility of ordering dishes of preference and the staff is very friendly. In short I would say that the price paid for the room is too high for the characteristics of the room but the experience is positive for the location, the staff and the breakfast.

The hotel is in a perfect location, close to everywhere! The room was a lottle small for my taste but completely functional based on we came here for pleasure and we just sleep on it. Joy and Emma had been adorable and they helped us on every single thing we needed. Glasgow is beautyful and the hotel amazing, will come back for sure!!!

Mercure customer service is top notch. My group uses their meeting rooms upstairs regularly. One of their employees by the name Joy always makes sure the meeting rooms are ready and available for use on time. There had been times when we needed additional meeting room for the children, she has always been of great help in ensuring our requirements are readily available even on short notice. We had a 2 night stay 17th and 18th Jan. Breakfasts and lunch's were excellent .The chef came out to ask us if we were happy or any issues with our meal which impressed us (sorry we did not get his name ) Room was basic , small and decor needs updating but very clean and comfortable . Service was excellent . Joy, Callum and Gabriel were very helpful and friendly. The Mercure is now our first choice of Hotel for our next stay in Glasgow . Thank you

My stay at the Mercule was Superb my Room was excellent, the food was lovely and the staff could not been more Attentive, ESPECIALLY JOY at the front desk Absolutely Magic, I would Undoubtedly Return, without the Shadow of a DOUBT Not forgetting ROHAN Who could not have Been Nicer.

We chose Mercure initially because of the location. But the hotel surpassed all possible pre thoughts. The staff couldn't be any more accommodating, they were absolutely fantastic. The food was top notch and chef was unbelievably great, making sure we had a fantastic meal and evening. The team involved in organising larger parties were tremendous. Nothing to much of a problem. Great place to stay, location great

Compact and cosy in a fantastic location… Location, location, location… the main reason for staying at the Mercure Glasgow City as the hotel could not be more centrally located in the heart of the city, close by you will find all the retail therapy anyone could desire together with the some of the best bars, restaurants and nightlife in the city plus the hotel is in walking distance of the city’s two main railway stations and the Buchanan Bus Interchange so there is no need to bring a car. I received some of the finest customer service and hospitality one could wish for from the hotel team, I was made very welcome by the friendly, professional and efficient team which continued throughout the stay where all strived to make sure the stay was the best it could be. Special mention for the wonderful Callum. One word that you would not use to describe the Mercure Glasgow City is spacious as the hotel is compact throughout. The ground floor open-plan reception, bar and restaurant area is far from roomy yet some might say perfectly formed. The hotel’s compact theme unfortunately continued in the bedroom (even though my room was an upgraded Privilege room); the king sized bed dominated the area leaving little room for guests to manoeuvre around let alone space for an easy chair or even to put up an ironing board, if you sat the desk it made for an uncomfortable cramped experience where you could not watch the television (which was also small and old)… I think that you get the point… the rooms are small. The en-suite bathroom was a big disappointment, old in terms of décor and with pathetic water pressure to the over-bath shower, the towels where far from fluffy more sandpaper in texture and the toilet made many noises throughout the night. The hotel is suffering from a lack of investment in its infrastructure after years of guests wear and tear the space is worn out and showing it, with many examples of clapped out furniture, carpets, curtains etc. I have stayed in worse Mercure Hotels however this example is far from the finest. Stay for the location and the service not for a luxurious room…

I recently stayed at the Mercure Glasgow City hotel and had a lovely stay with my daughter. The rooms themselves are basic but very clean, tidy and have what you need for a nice stay. The location of the hotel is ideal as right in the city centre near all amenities. Breakfast has a good selection of great, tasty food and staff were nice, especially Stacey who was very happy, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend staying here.
