Having eaten Indian food many times in different countries, I have to say this restaurant is excellent. Will definitely be back. All the dishes were superb.

I was working with Kerry locally and fancied a curry having got bored of hotel food. Called this place and hit it off with the owner who shared the same name as me! Quickly learned that these guys are Punjabi and would make me a Desi style curry (not the generic curry non-indians typically get served). I had a medium chicken tikka masala - the sauce was full of flavour and the meat succulent, the accompanying naan was cooked to my preference - buttered, thin and light. The heat was just right and it was refreshing to be served a side salad and raita too. It is refreshing to find an Indian restaurant in Northern Ireland that is actually cooked authentic Punjabi style like I would get at home, only too happy to recommend and if you are tired of generic curries then ask for Desi style !!

I have use this restaurant a few times and have to say they do a fabulous fish and chips but from my own personal experience their currys are a real let down, I love a chicken jalfrezi and have had some fabulous flavourful jalfrezi in restaurants in England and in Belfast cooked fresh with fresh ingredients is what makes a great jalfrezi I'm sorry to say masala's doesn't seem to be cooked fresh and seems to be a genetic sauce like the ones you get at the supermarket actually the jalfrezi from the supermarket is just as nice as this restaurants and a lot cheaper it's nearly £10 (takeaway) for a curry and rice ive tried other currys here as well and all have been a let down, I must this is just my opinion and must stress that this review is in no way meant to be a bad review and only my own thoughts

Family meal during the 'Eat Out to Help Out Scheme' with 50% Off. Food was amazing, usual good portion sizes, and delicious poppadoms to start. All four of us were more than happy with our starters and mains. My daughter ordered the vegan option, which she loved!! Just to note - if worried about social distancing, they had hand sanitiser as we entered, tables were well spaced out, staff were wearing masks or visors, and cutlery came in little pre-packed packs.

I visit Masala when I come to visit in strabane and usually.come with a very fussy vegetarian. The place was completely empty when we went in so we had the lovely Paula's attention all for ourselves. She made a cocktail especially for me which was great. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to help my friend choose a vegetarian dish. The last 2 times she'd been there, she was disappointed slightly with the dish. This time she tried the aloo gobi with mutter and was so pleased with it. Service is brilliant, the decor is nothing too garish and the food was great...perfect night.

After a lovely day spent in a local park with my 2 year old grand-daughter, my partner and I needed a bit of sustenance. Remembering Masala from its old “takeaway” days we decided to give the restaurant a try and were not disappointed. Greeted by very welcoming and pleasant staff, that was the start of a lovely dining experience. Once our drinks order was taken we were provided with poppadoms and pickle tray gratis. As I’m a bit of a spice freak I had to try the recently introduced “special” - Chilli Tandoori Mix with pilau rice as my chosen accompaniment. This dish was exactly “as described on the packet” - succulent and tender pieces of chicken and lamb beautifully cooked and served on a sizzling hot dish with fresh green chillies and a madras sauce on the side. My partner prefers the milder dishes and went with the recommendation of our waitress and was delighted with a beautifully prepared dish of chicken and lamb in a rogan josh type sauce. With a garlic naan to share neither of us could finish our meals but the staff volunteered to package our leftovers. We will definitely be back.

Our hosts told us the best fish & chips was at Masala. I love curry and had shrimp korma. Wonderful. And the Mr. who doesn't like curry? He raved about his large portion of excellent fish & chips. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff attentive. Excellent food. Our #1 in Strabane now.

Whilst on holiday, we visited Masala as a group of eight one evening; We hadn’t booked but, as we were early, getting a table was easy. The service and food were very good but the prices were slightly higher than I was expecting. There were lots of vegetarian options to choose and I would visit again. Thank you.

I came here last week with my sister. I've eaten in the takeaway (there are two parts to this place - a takeaway and a restaurant) a few times and I really love the food so I was excited to try the restaurant! It didn't disappoint. It's a lovely, warm atmosphere and the food is delicious. I got a chickpea curry and the portions were huge - a bowl of the curry and a bowl of rice. Both my sister and I were absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal! As with most Indians, there is so much veggie choice here which is fantastic as it's something the rest of restaurants in Strabane are sorely lacking. I will 100% be back, it's by far the best restaurant I've visited in Strabane.

The fish is fine once you remove the greasy batter and as for the chips they are very poor quality with 20% of them burned to a crisp state . Overall this take-away facility is overpriced for the quality of the food it dishes out especially at the weekends

Ordered the standard fish(cod?) and chips takeaway . We would do this perhaps two Maybe three times a year, however never again . The fish is fine and tastes like fish unlike most takeaways where it all tastes of a mixture of chicken , burger etc deep fried in the one pan. But the chips were pathetic, all hard ends and full of soggy greasy bits , this establishment suits the downmarket customer seeking a quick easy meal of a low standard albeit it is still quite expensive

I can't fault the food, but I'm afraid the service wasn't great. Our starter wasn't taken away before we'd finished, wine (unopened) and cutlery just dumped on the table, had to wait ages for mains and then ask twice for the bill. It didn't seem too busy so can't really explain this. Will probably just do a takeaway in future.

It is sad that so many restaurants ,Indian ones in particular, do not hold the standards the best of them start out with. The subtlety of spicing declines and in general standards drop (although not the service levels which remain high). Maybe the fact it was a Monday visit didn't help,I hope this is all it was.

Masala is always a safe bet for amazing food at an even better price! The restaurant itself is stunning and authentic, would never think you were sat in strabane! The staff are so friendly and the food fresh and always stunning! So accomodating for a group of any size and children also. Its a must stop if in strabane or surrounding areas!

Dined here as a group of four friends and every one of us was highly impressed, with the authentic and delicious Indian food, the service which was attentive, prompt and not at all invasive, and the value for money. The decor is lovely and relaxing, warm and inviting, we enjoyed two milder dishes, the Pasanda and Korma, a Rogan Josh that was made to measure for one friend and a wonderfully spicy veggie option that we all enjoyed trying out! Plenty of bread and large portions were just a perfect meal combo.......the already wonderful Masala menu now in restaurant format is for me a huge success....can't wait to return very soon.

Northern Ireland generally belongs in the pile it high and sell it cheap school (and if it can be fried so much the better) take away is the culinary norm and chips the standard vegetable. Having started as a take away this establishment has sprouted a restaurant which features good Indian cooking . While the range of dishes leans to the standard there is sound spicing (not just bland ,medium and chili rich). Given the good spicing I would have liked to have seen a vegetarian thali but was advised that this would probably be a stretch too far for the local market.Food ,service and ambience good and one just hopes that the venture gets enough support for it to continue and for standards to be maintained as this is not cheap and cheerful pricing on the main courses.

Twice now when ordering vegetarian curry I've gotten meat in it. It sucks, because I love the food, but I just can't recommend masala anymore because of these mistakes. It's worse than accidently messing up the order because its a random big chunk of meat in the curry which I assume fell in, to me this just isn't acceptable, imagine if someone had an allergy.
