The best Diavola pizza I’ve had in a long time. With a side salad that was as good as any I’ve had. Great little place, cosy, owner managed and that shows. Will be coming back regularly.

We hadn't booked but thought we would pop in and see if there was a table. The staff were very helpful, the menu was good. We enjoyed our meal and would return. The raviolii was delicious.

We just had a great meal at Mama Mia in Banchory .The restaurant has a very chilled Italian vibe and the pizza and ravioli we both very tasty and well cooked. Service was very friendly and efficient and they now have a license to serve alcohol.

Great pizzas in a nice location, friendly staff although service a bit slow, limited wines and staff not sure what was in stock felt they far too expensive for what they are, recommend bring your own and pay the £7 corkage

My family and I had dinner at Mamma Mia and I was impressed with the wide variety of options on the menu, especially since I have pescatarian dietary requirements. We all enjoyed a starter and main course, and each dish was bursting with flavor. The standout dish was the Lesia Special Pizza, which was simply phenomenal. The attention to detail in the decor and the authentic Italian atmosphere made for a clean and inviting dining experience. The staff and owner were attentive and took great care of us throughout the entire night. I highly recommend Mamma Mia and look forward to returning. In my opinion, it's the best Italian restaurant around

Ok, it’s a takeaway with a few tables for sitting in but the food was excellent. Calzone, pizza and a freshly made scallop and prawn ravioli dish didn’t disappoint. We brought a bottle of wine with us as they didn’t have a drinks licence. Despite this, the young gentleman serving us turned his skills to waitering from takeaway server at the flick of a switch. Considering the lack of eateries in Banchory, we were lucky to find such good Italian food albeit in what is essentially a takeaway. Well done guys.

We came for dinner on a Friday night, looking forward to trying somewhere new while we were visiting Banchory. When we arrived we were surprised at the size of the restaurant, it is small and looked more like a takeaway than somewhere for dinner. It was also very quiet with only one other table occupied. When ordering our food we asked if they could make us a plain tomato pasta as there was no dairy/meat free options. We were immediately told no and offered options containing cream and meat which we explained we couldn’t eat. We asked for the special without the aubergine but we’re also told no as the meals were all ‘pre-made’. We were then offered a pizza which we decided to decline as it became clear that we were not going to enjoy the meal. The woman behind the counter shook her head at us as we left, as though we had done something wrong. The atmosphere in the restaurant was awkward and it seems to be more of a takeaway than somewhere to enjoy a meal. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat, however I would not return.

W went one Wednesday lunch time after receiving a friend's recommendation. The service is good, the food delicious but a little pricy. Three starters, three main courses and 4 soft drinks was £82.50. We recommend the food but study the price list.

I dined in the restaurant in December 2022 with some friends.  I asked the waiter what I could order because I have a dairy allergy, he said I could order a pizza with vegan (dairy free) cheese on it, so this is what I ordered. The table then ordered some starters to share, so I asked if I could eat any of them that came out.  The owner then said I could eat the garlic bread pizza, as it was olive oil spread that was used to make this.  When I asked to see the packaging I saw this contained buttermilk, which I obviously could not have!  So untrusting of what I could eat I decided not to eat any of the starters and wait for my dairy free pizza that I was assured would be safe for me to eat. When the main course arrived the waiter came out with one pizza first and said it was the dairy free one, which I took.  Then once everyone had their meals I asked the waiter again, if this is the dairy free pizza to which he said yes.  Taking the word of the staff I started to eat a small bit of the pizza, and quickly felt my lips hurting, so then checked again and the owner came out and said no it was the wrong pizza I had been given. Which after checking 5 times if this was going to be safe for me to eat, it was not! I then had to take some medication and leave the restaurant and had a bad allergic reaction when I got home. I can't get over how badly the restaurant dealt with my allergy and there is obviously no protocol in place to deal with someone with an allergy and staff not properly trained on this either. It's bad enough I had to miss out on my evening and next day too, with feeling unwell, but for someone else with an anaphylactic reaction this may have been their life.  Allergies are very, very serious and this should be dealt with appropriately in this restaurant.  They did not check on me after I left the restaurant to see if I was ok directly. When I contacted the restaurant afterwards they apologised and said I could go in for a free meal, which I have declined as I don't feel safe to do so. I sincerely hope they take this seriously in the future and revisit their protocols. Please be aware of this if dining here.

Truly an amazing dining experience! The staff are attentive and friendly. The food was heavenly! The food was a hit from starter to dessert. Every bite was better and better. We tried different starters and pizza from vegetarian options to meat options, there was something for everyone. Thank you Mamma Mia for a wonderful dinner!

We were staying in the area for the night and struggled to find a local restaurant which was dog friendly. We opted for takeaway pizzas instead and so glad we did - best pizza we’ve had in a long time. The staff were very helpful and friendly. If we are ever visiting the area again we will definitely be back.
