We called in for breakfast as we were in town early. The owner is very friendly and therefore the service is great we had the full breakfast which was great value for money but also well cooked. The atmosphere was good as there were usual customers having a good chat and being very inclusive. Worth trying.

We went here for breakfast while visiting family in Newport.what a fantastic breakfast and cheap for the amount of food you get, there was a good choice of food on the menu and she also caters for gluten free clients, the owner karen bakes on the premises and the whole cafe is full of luscious smelling cakes, the area around the cafe is being renovated so this place will get very busy, she also does outside catering for weddings, birthdays etc.

We went for a meal with friends who had eaten here several times previously and rated it highly. The menu is quite small and no vegetarian options shown, although when asked there were two options available, veggie curry and cauliflower steak unfortunately neither of which appealed to me personally. I opted for the potato skins starter as a mains instead which was quite tasty but nothing I could wholeheartedly recommend. My meat eating companions chose off the chalkboard menu but were all left feeling slightly underwhelmed, cassoulet, gammon and chicken, none of which they raved about, in fact they were disappointed too as it wasn’t up to previous standards. The concept behind the pub was apparently to recapture the original Victorian feel but it just looked as if it badly needed updating. Staff were very helpful and friendly but without great food I couldn’t rate it any higher.

Lovely Welsh fry up - very clean and efficient, with really nice staff. Always busy, with local builders and workmen, which says a lot! Recommended!

Decided to treat myself seeing as it is a Friday night. I have read exceptional reviews about this place so I ordered and went for a Chicken Tikka masala and the flavours were unreal!!! It was the perfect meal. I will 100% be back and try out your new ch Makkahni as my friends have recommended it. Thank you so much for the meal!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
