Called in here for lunch on our way home after holidaying on the coast. A cafe with a decent selection of well cooked & well presented food, very reasonable prices and friendly welcoming staff. The cafe is situated in the same building as the village's community shop in the centre of Llandegla about 500m from the A5103. An amazing resource for the village & a great place for travellers to drop inyo for a drink or food.

What a welcome sight for sore feet! We enjoyed fantastic coffee and scrumptious Victoria sponge cake when taking a well-earned break from walking Offa's Dyke Path. Damp hikers are very much welcome, and there are plenty of light lunch and calorific snack options in the lovely cafe area at the back of the shop, housed in a characterful school building. The staff are lovely, couldn't have been more helpful, and the cafe service was quick. There's a good range of essential lunch supplies in the shop, plus local produce (it's shame there wasn't enough room in my rucksack for any Welsh cheese and beer). Highly recommended! A fantastic community venture, lovingly and thoughtfully run.

With no other places to stop for long stretches of the Walk, we came to Llandegla in heavy rain and was very glad to find this place. We had a great lunch, a good beer, got dry and could stock up on various items before moving on. Increasingly important that this place exists!

We never knew this place existed until we went on a random drive one day. So we ventured inside and discovered a unique and special cafe/shop, run by volunteers, who were very welcoming. It's the type of place you normally only see in fictional TV shows, but this one is real. The food is as good as homemade, the staff can tell you all about what there is to do in the local area, such as the well and the church across the road, which is well worth going in for a look (plenty to do inside too, but I won't spoil the surprise). To the community of Llandegla, you have really impressed us. We will be back :-)

It's not very often that you can experience a great community cafe and shop too as my friend and l did to today as recommended by her after we we went to the Trout farm in llanegla. You can get a very retro feeling that the young folk appreciated too when buying things from there as l witnessed today. Rock on you all in this ....

We had walked part of the Offa's Dyke path into Llandegla and came across the Community Shop. It was operating takeaway only but sat outside in the sun having a coffee and home made cake was just what we needed. Highly recommended, you can't miss it right opposite the church

Our cycling club regularly stops here when we're out from Chester. It's so good I design the routes to make sure we pass by! The staff are always welcoming and do a brilliant job of getting food and coffee out to a big group. Best sausage sandwich in the area and reasonably priced too.

During a trek down the Offa's Dyke, a fellow outdoor enthusiast and I got talking on a hilltop some 5 miles distant, to the north. He told me that there was a shop in Llandegla, which had an eatery therein. Being situated right on the Offa's Dyke trail, this was music to my ears at my route plan meant that I would be passing by around lunchtime. A great excuse to drop in during a fresh January day. Anyhow, I was very impressed with the set up. The location is in the heart oof the hamlet and cannot be missed. Contained within is a shop selling provisions, as well as a cafe. The cafe sells a wide range of fayre, including cake (my choice was the Victoria spongecake and a pot of tea. Both were excellent. The staff were lovely. In particular I had a good chat with Duncan, who is a great enthusiast. This shows in the professional way in which the premises are run. Beyoind cake, the selection includes home made hot food, a wide selection of cakes and soft drinks. Basically a high quality selection of things one would expect from a cafe. I must also say that the venue includes free wifi and has plugs where you can charge your devices. I throroughly enjoyed the visit, the chat and the experience. It only being in operation for some 3 years, the shop will not feature in Offa's Dyke guides printed pre-2017. However, in my view, this is a 'must visit' location being one of very few such places right on the path. Indeed, I was walking to Knighton and did not find any other similar places. I would recommend planning your route so that you visit the place for lunch or a cuppa or whatever. If there is camping nearby, the shop is well enough stocked to provide the provisions you need.

The northern section of Offas Dyke has few coffee shops to call at and certainly none as good as this one serviced by the local community. There were the usual rage of hot drinks and a lovely range of savouries and cakes but also a shop with food and medical provisions and ice lollies! . The voluntary staff were lovely and eally helpful and a good spot to compare notes with other walkers. A must for Offas Dykers and right on the trail!

A welcoming cafe with fresh coffee and home made cakes. Limited selection when we called but perfectly adequate. Good place behind the cafe to store your bike if you’ve cycled there. The prices are about average for coffee and cake but we were a little surprised when a modest service charge was added to the bill when we paid as we were leaving.

This is a friendly, helpful, community-owned shop and café serving excellent tea, cakes, snack lunches and so on right on the Offa's Dyke Path. The café at the back is plain but clean and efficient; and the shop/post office at the front sells almost anything you might want part-way through a long-distance hike. Lovely. Keep up the good work!

We visited this café at the end of a lovely day's walk from Llangollen as part of our Offa's Dyke odyssey. A delightful and very welcome surprise; we knew the local pubs had closed, and had not expected to find a cup of tea anywhere nearby. The staff/volunteers were friendly and the café was active and busy with local customers. We also called in briefly at the start of our next day's walk, to pick up some provisions in the village shop.

Having driven through Llandegla countless times, I can't believe I missed out on this gem. It's really easy to find with a large (free) carpark nearby. The shop/cafe is run by a community of volunteers, and everyone my friend and I met today was really friendly, chatty and welcoming. They even recommended what coffee was best black, and slightly cheaper. The tea and coffee was delicious and very well priced, and the building is bright but cosy. There are crafts and second hand books for sale, and the shop was really well stocked. So impressed, and I have been waxing lyrical about it to everyone. This is now my number 1 halfway meeting point for family and friends! Diolch yn fawr. Lynne.

Our first visit to Llandegla village centre, which is tucked away off the main road. A local saw us scrutinizing the village tourist information and notice board, and, presumably thinking that we looked a bit chill on a November afternoon, suggested that we might like to look in on the community shop which could offer a warm drink.

This really puts Llandegla on the map as one of the most enterprising villages along the Offa's Dyke Path. It was a very friendly place to stop for tea and cake as a break along the walk - but it's obviously a lively hub for many others and has a well stocked shop as well as a good menu.

I dropped in there on my Offa's Dyke Path trek & couldn't have welcomed more. The lady is a very seasoned traveller herself & was just so helpful, I really appreciated it. I could leave my backpack there while I explored the town, I charged all my equipment and had the most delicious bacon & egg bap. I also bought a great piece of date & walnut cake & she gave me another sort of cake which was delicious as well. What impressed me most was the fantastic hospitality. Thanks Llandegla. After a walk, three of us returned to the small car park in Llandegla and found the Community cafe, just yards away. The Community shop and cafe were open in the late afternoon - great - we ordered a mix of brownies and lemon cake, with pots of tea and coffee capochino. The cakes were delicious: I bought extra brownies to take home where others enjoyed them also. The pot of tea was great, and my friends enjoyed their coffees. The shop and cafe are parts of an old school and so the cafe has a high ceiling with plenty of space. The menu includes main meals. The atmoshere was relaxing - there are settees and books to read and leave if you wish. The people who run this cafe help made the relaxing time , They were friendly, helpful, and went the extra mile, when, I had to phone a few days later to ask if anyone had picked up a ring (which I misplaced). The lady (apologies for not recalling her name) spent time looking for this ring and phoned me when the search found nothing. A day later, I found the ring in a deep pocket. Nethertheless, thank you to the cafe owners. We also bought locally made beer which had plenty of flavour. This shop/cafe is a community gem.

After a walk with friends and our dogs Ilka and Milly in tow we needed some a good hot cuppa a snack and sit down. Riverbanc is one of the friendliest and dog friendly places in town. The warmth of the cafe hits you as soon as you walk through the door and the lovely staff greet you with smiles and a big fuss for the dogs. Ali was straight onto warming ilkas doggy ice cream up for her, her regular treat after a walk. Today us adults had Welsh Rarebit, always delicious, the poached eggs as orange as the sun and so tasty, the club sandwich, always a favourite with Milly and me. Todays top choice was the homemade mince pies! Alison bakes these to perfection every Christmas, buttery and crumble in the mouth. Have a great Christmas guys and gals and keep serving the best coffee and snacks in town. :-)
