L'Chaim's in East Renfrewshire

We were a large family group from london staying in a house in Scotland over winter holidays. L’chaim prepared us shabbos food and more for our stay. the food was superb, easily as good or better than the heimish london take aways/delis. Portions are very generous and Rabbi and Rebetzen Jacobs were so helpful in making sure everything was perfect. they really made our holiday. i would highly recommend, they may have an old looking website, but don’t judge the quality of food and service on that! i can’t recommend highly enough. thank you and L’ Chaim!

The best kosher option for us when traveling to Scotland is to order our food in advance from Chabad, then have it frozen and ready for pick up in Glasgow. On this trip, we paid £300 for two weeks of food, enough for four adults. We got soups, kugels, chicken, beef, strudel, vegetables, rice, and lasagna. To make it work, we bought a 220V crockpot and a power converter for our electric hot plate. Of course, we brought our own plastic plates, utensils, pot, a pan, and a thermos too (good for soups on day trips away from our Airbnb & Vrbo). Essentially, when we travel internationally, we have one extra suitcase dedicated to food. While you may think that's an excessive shlep, it turns out to be amazingly economical and a great time saver to eat when and where we want.

For kosher travelers in Scotland, this Chabad-run restaurant and caterer is indispensable. We had meals for Shabbat and weekdays delivered to our hotel in Glasgow and they were excellent (complete with challah and wine for Shabbat). Moreover, Rabbi Jacobs was responsive and solicitous of our needs. Did I say the food was really good?

I was staying at Cameron House by Loch Lomand. Not only did Rabbi Jacobs make yummy food but he went out of his way to help me find transportation, saving me money on a seperate delivery charge and taxi. He put the food in the taxi and had it take me to the hotel. This was above and beyond! Great food, next level service!

All the traditional dishes you love, along with very reasonable prices. They have a fantastic selection of authentic dishes that taste delicious, Cholent, Tzimmis, Chopped Liver, Potato Kugel, to name just a few.... They will even make you up food to travel and food for a picnic., and food for Shabbos too, don't miss this place out, they will accommodate your every need from 1 to 100 people! The Rabbi was very accommodating and the Shabbos food was particularly ample. We were very grateful to have food delivered to our hotel in the Giffnock area of Glasgow, Scotland.

We arrived to Glasgow and sought out a kosher establishment to order kosher meals for Shabbat. Found l'Chaim, called them and ordered meals. We went to pick up at rabbi's house. The meals were the absolute best. Plenty of food, wine, plates, and utensils for our Shabbat table. Would highly recommend l'chagim to everyone.

Spent a week in Scotland. Was in Glasgow and then traveled to golf resort on the coast. I had food delivered from L’Chaim to both hotels. Food was delicious! Even after freezing for delivery and reheating. Everything was amazing. Restaurant is expert at packaging food. Delivering frozen. Food is well sealed with very explicit directions not to open, how to handle and re-heat. Also they very cleverly color coordinate lunches and dinners so hotel knows how to calculate food and courses for each day. Plates and snacks and cutlery all sorted and matched so each meal served with starters, mains and desserts. And even by the end of the week the dishes tasted as if they just came out of the oven. Even the desserts were incredible. And all reasonably priced. He was even able to deliver a slow cooker with cholent to my hotel in Glasgow for a delicius cholent over Shabbos, with a nice wine, kiddush cups, etc. No detail was overlooked. Was very impressed. He has drivers who can send food all over Scotland to have food waiting at your hotel. Highest level of kashrut and food packages to meet local health and safety standards so hotel kitchens are okay to store the food. Was totally blown away that I could find this qualify of kosher food and so easy, delivered to my hotel in the highlands.

On our first trip to Scotland about eight months ago, we called the L'chaim kosher restaurant before we arrived to Glasgow, and although they were already at closing time, the owner Rabbi Jacobs and his wife took an order from us on the phone and made it ready to pickup at their home address. The food was delicious and their service was great. If you are looking for a good warm kosher meal while you are in Scotland, this is your only and best choice.

In a strictly kosher home, he put on a fabulous meal for eighteen people. Wonderful chicken soup! At each course we were offered extra. No one left the table still hungry. Excellent support staff. Couldn't have been better.

Chaim's reliably delivered meals for lunches and dinner during out trip to Scotland, making this an extraordinarily comfortable trip. The food, in microwave double-wrapped packaging was good, and they were very easy to work with. Also sent bread, sandwich fillings, and wine. Makes kosher travel to Scotland a real pleasure.

This is a family run restaurant within the campus of Giffnock Synagogue. It is not open every day - you need to check in advance. The food is excellent and 'heimishe' and fully Kosher according to the Orthodox rite.

Rabbi and Rebbetzin Jacobs are astounding with their hospitality and warmth. I absolutely loved the food. The kugel is amazing, chicken is phenomenal, the meat is tasty too. If you need kosher food in Scotland and a friendly dining experience, go here!

Lovely food and kind and thoughtful service. For starters we had smoked salmon garnished with capers and chopped liver with egg. Main course was either chicken with kugel and carrots or poached salmon. For dessert we had apple pie and fruit salad. Recommended heartily.

We ordered our Shabbat food to be delivered to Gleneagles and it made our shabbos. My kids loved the chicken soup and I loved the rest. We ordered side dishes, desserts and soup. Everything came wrapped nicely. The service was great and Sora was a pleasure to work with. Next time we come we look forward to eating at LChaim in Glasgow.

We were delighted to find that L’chaim delivered meals and contacted them ahead of our stay at Glenmor, the Gleneagles Hotel self-catering lodges. We received meals for our family of 5 over Friday night, Saturday lunch and dinner. We were greatly impressed by the delivery - the food was prepared to a very high standard, was tasty and had travelled well. It was beautifully presented, nutritious and kosher

Though the main conference refused to provide kosher meals, a smaller venue event by one of the industrial sponsors did provide a hot meal from L'chaims. What a treat after days of eating noodles in a cup!

Went for lunch with wife. Very warm welcome from Soro Jacobs the owner. Lovely food, well presented and good value. Nice friendly atmosphere. If you want Kosher food in Glasgow this is a good place to go.
