Lavery's Belfast in Belfast

Went to Lavery’s on Sunday 27th April with three mates to watch Liverpool vs Spurs. The place was packed with Liverpool fans, easily 95% of the crowd, and the atmosphere was brilliant — until full-time. As soon as Liverpool won the league, Lavery’s cut off the commentary and celebrations and started playing music instead. Everyone was confused and disappointed. We asked staff to turn the sound back on but were told they couldn't — management apparently wouldn’t allow it. We were told to go downstairs for the commentary, but there was none there either. When I asked to speak to a manager, nobody properly addressed the situation. One staff member eventually said it was because of a private function — which is nonsense, as the building’s sound system can be split between floors. Really poor way to treat easily 100+ paying customers who had been there for hours. Totally ruined what should have been a great moment.

Went for the Comedy Club and it did not disappoint would highly recommend for something different midweek but be sure to book ahead and getting a table was worth the £2 extra

Went to Laverys Karaoke rooms for my 21st birthday, was the best fun and our host Sophie was amazing. Thank you so much it is an experience I would highly recommend

We went for the pub quiz on Tuesday and had the best time, very chilled, great music, fun and unique drinks and we will definitely be going back to try their food as well🙌

My first time there and it won’t be my last time! Loved it! Staff were friendly and the show was amazing! Laughed so much. We had the drinks and meal package which was good value for money.

Got food at woodworkers not Lavery’s so can’t comment but whole experience at laverys comedy night was brilliant and absolutely hilarious

Booked Lavery’s for karaoke for a group of friends. We were all really impressed by the new rooms - very nicely designed, equipment was top rate and easy to use. We had absolutely brilliant craic. Will definitely be back soon! Special thanks to Frank who looked after us too. He made the whole experience smooth and easy.

Had a lovely day in laverys....we had booked a table to watch the football with a pool table which was an added bonus! We ordered food from their restricted menu which still had a great variety and was really lovely!!!

We didn't end up eating unfortunately but that was due to us getting food on the ferry over and just wanted to drink.

Love laverys, we always have a great time when we're there, service & food is excellent..

Been a regular in Lavery’s bar for many years still a great pub with great atmosphere. We all enjoyed our day. Staff all well trained and helpful. Couldn’t have asked for a better day cheers to the team.

Was shown and taken to the lift from a young nice doorman and the staff were very well mannered will be back

10/10 what can I say!! I booked a karaoke room for my sisters hen party and we had two wheelchair users. I went to book and they told me the rooms were upstairs and not accessible however they would accommodate us in a private bar The effort they all went to was above and beyond and it was the best evening ever. The coconut margaritas are out of this world too!!! The food was huge and delicious honestly it was the best night and the staff were 10/10 accommodating and so so polite including the lovely door staff! Thankyou for being excellent I highly highly recommend this place

We went to the studio 2 karaoke room to celebrate my birthday and the room was unreal, exactly like its pictures with easy to use and quick karaoke machine, would highly recommend. However I think it may be slightly overpriced as all you get is the use of the room and nothing more. the Facebook page details that table service comes with these rooms but we queried this and were informed it wasn’t an option, just to note the bar is on a different floor to the karaoke room. Our booking was for 6pm and we didn’t get into the room until ~6:40 and had to continuously ask the unuseful bar staff about the room.

Hosted Ormeay Bakery FC for our annual quiz, the staff were very attentive and cooperative helping us set up. They also worked very hard behind the bar throughout the night and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend for any function. Will be back next year!

I can not say enough great things about our dinner and drinks experience on Wednesday evening in the Public Bar. We were so well looked after from start to finish. It was a birthday celebration and we were made to feel so special. Would definitely book again.

Booked 2 pool tables on Saturday February 22nd, hoping to enjoy drinks, pool and great food (we had previously eaten here before on numerous occasions). However, when we went to order food, we were told there was no food being served as "we're manic" as staff walked away from us. A staff member then pointed at a food cart with foil wrapped burgers and chips. On spending £12 on both, we found the burger to be both luke warm and dry, whilst the chips were cold after being sitting in the car for who knows how long. Once again asked staff and were told, "that's all we got"! Gotta say, not the quality from Lavery's we've had before and would highly recommend Lavery's to improve, until then , it's a 2/10 until they get their act together, and a loss of 8 customers.

Went for the football stayed for the guniness

We had a gr8t afternoon watching the rugby. The food was very nice and the service at the bar was fast and efficient.

Laverys was very friendly place and the staff were nice and friendly and helped polity if you needed anything. Will definitely be back we had the best night's crack there. Thank you all xx

Absolutely, fantastic.We walked down at 11 AM just to see where it was.As we were booked in for the comedy show said we would go in for one and we did not leave until 12 o'clock that night. Fantastic staff great atmosphere. The food is to die for and one of the best. Comedy shows in Ireland and a massive selection of beers, stouts and laggers you would definitely have enough to choose from. could not recommend this venue enough pool. Hall. Upstairs board games, downstairs. Lots to do will definitely be back. Cannot wait.

Booked the karaoke room on 15.02.25 and have to say the service and facilities were fantastic. We were looked after by Frank and he done everything he could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Will definitely be back. Thanks.

We run dating events at Laverys and it has always been a great experience, the staff are very accommodating and friendly. It makes running our events a very smooth process

Had booked a family party and reserved the Shuffleboard and Kickback area . Everyone had an amazing time, great drinks food and service . We all had a fabulous time and plan to return for the Quiz. Thanks everyone for a brilliant night !!!.

Recently went to Lavery's for their new Karaoke rooms, service was great and the room was the perfect size and had a great atmosphere - really recommend!

Nice atmosphere and the pools tables were really fun. Just hard to play when people are constantly bumping into you so wish there was just a better dedicated area for people to walk or more space between tables.

Place is getting worse, No budweiser or bud light. Trying to be something it's not. Not even showing football over the rugby

Laverys is an amazing bar for anyone wanting to watch sports, listen to live music, play pool or just relax with food and a few drinks. The staff are all amazing and helpful, and the bar is always spotless and always has an amazing atmosphere

We went as group, mix of people eating and having a few drinks and people just having drinks. We found everything to be great and high standard. Food was great, we liked going to the bar and paying upfront so there’s no issue with bill splitting towards the end. I have been going to laverys for years and have never had a cocktail in there. I ordered a spicy margarita and it was one of the nicest I’ve had. Very pleased with everything.

The atmosphere, service and food were all fantastic. The server was polite, and attentive, couldn't do more for us, and the gent that took our payment gave us a funny anecdote to boot! The Arsenal match was on the TV so the place was lively, lots of chat and cheers when the on screen action got a bit spicy. The food itself was just what you need before a few drinks, the chicken burger definitely took the top prize for a damn tasty burger.

Great bat. But how the hell on a Saturday night can you not have Baileys in Ireland! Go around the corner to the Spar shop. t

We had a great time doing the karaoke and playing pool. Unfortunately we found that the security staff were rude - to people who were not causing any issues, as well as one of the security at the front door making inappropriate comments to my friend. It's a great location and there have been great improvements in the facilities so it would be lovely not to be made feel uncomfortable while trying to enjoy a night out.

This is a cool bar... It has two sides, one the traditional pub and the other a craft beer place called the Woodworkers. Everything nice except I ordered calamari with chips which was grossly overpriced, £13 for a handful of calamari rings and a small bowl of chips. See the picture. After that I went to the Gents and saw they had advertised super cheap deals on a burger and chips... Prices need to be more consistent and reasonable.

Directly go to this pub if you want to play some pool while you're sipping your beer. You'll definitely get one of the 10 something pool tables upstairs.

Dropped in for a pint on a cold afternoon. Cosied-up by the fire. Friendly bar staff. They serve alcohol free Guinness zero too 👍

Always enjoy laverys and pool and the food it’s such a great place to go with friends to socialise with friends or family they have great staff who are very helpful and friendly its a must do for social gatherings and also with just 1 or 2 friends

Good value drinks, nice atmosphere.

Laverys and woodworkers are the best bars in Belfast. Woodworkers now have snuffleboard and their craft beer selection is always awesome. They also have cocktails, the pickle sour is a controversial one but I'm sure someone loves it. Really good food in both as well and always top service. Bring back the sweet potato fries!

Brilliant night thank you for your staff support

we always came to lavery's as a first thing upon arrival in belfast and we always loved the atmosphere, the pints and the great burgers. yesterday was a letdown. no scooby snack on the menu, bad service and the burgers were a tasteless, overpriced disgrace. no cutlery, napkins or condiments provided and the burgers weren't even grilled and looked like some sad, boiled mystery meat. i love lavery's but that was inedible. pints were great as usual though

Good selection of craft beer in the woodworkers. Food isn't great recently, it was way better before lockdown.

Fantastic atmosphere and as always, a good night out.

Easily booked a table for a Saturday night close to xmas. Table was marked with our name. Bar was busy, but getting drinks was still straightforward as usual. A great place to meet friends and have a few drinks

Held a party in the Back Bar here at the weekend and I couldn't have been in better hands. Eoin was amazing at helping us organise a function everybody seemed to enjoy, and Sophie behind the bar was really smiley, friendly and helpful. The cocktail dispensers we booked were delicious and boozy, and I really appreciated the fact we were able to order one off-menu. Even though fewer people than we anticipated showed up, the atmosphere was still good, helped by the fact we were allowed to put some decorations up. As a student in Belfast, I have been here many times before and it never disappoints. Particularly like the burgers

As usual a good buzz about Laverys. The food is good value for money and everyone enjoyed their meal. Great for an informal group get together as people can order food at their own leisure from the bar. Good selection of beers and the pool tables are well maintained.

I'm afraid this bar has changed. Other floors and recent woodworkers always catered for younger clientele but the ground floor public bar was always a proper bar, although covering racing and football, was suitable for those seeking a good pint and conversation. What used to be called rightly or wrongly a working man's bar. We went for a few pints and Christmas Dinner for a few oldtimers as in past years. Very disappointed pints of Guiness not of previous very high standard and food options and quality well below what we used to receive. I must say however that bar staff and managers were very pleasant and helpful in trying to resolve our difficulties and deserve great credit for finding us alternative seating. Still a good bar if interested in Thursday night European football or Racing but no longer my first choice for a few quiet pints, a bit of craic and a pleasant meal. This was last year's review above - booked a table again this year December 2024 and got a great table and staff again very helpful. I had the lasagna and it was excellent other dishes seemed fine although the scampi portion looked small. Pints were reasonable and atmosphere good. Football was on TV which suited me although craic was so good I only watched bits and having large screen beside us didnt affect enjoyable as bar staff kindly turned volume down on request. Late on we moved into woodworkers which was less packed for a quiet final drink and chat. Overall a really good night had by all and will definitely go back.

Charged twice for a vodka by mistake! Swipe and then pin! Saw it on my banking app. Went back 2 days later and explained with evidence. Manager amazing! He saw my truth and gave me the cash back. 100%

We hold our annual father / son pool competition at Laverys every Xmas and as usual this year didn't disappoint. Great food, excellent service and decent pool tables.

Went to comedy club on Thursday night. Comedians were great. I was seated at the back row which wasn’t a problem. However there was 2 female bar staff who seemed to be looking for an argument. They repeatedly went ‘shhh’ to the crowd when they were laughing loudly. There was also 2 separate groups on either of my side who were asked to leave for talking. I was sitting close to both groups and they caused no disruption to me, they both were talking very lowly. However both female staff aggressively went over to both groups and told them ‘if they didn’t stop talking they’d be removed’. As someone who was trying to sit back and enjoy the comedy show these 2 female staff caused more annoyance than the two groups they removed by security. Great comedy gig but these 2 female staff ruined the experience.

Went to laverys comedy night on a Thursday. Entertainment on a budget . This was a great night , thoroughly funny. Worth a visit fo 14 pound.

Very noisy bar music was booming but couldn't hear the lyricks. Service wasn't great took ages for food to be served. Fish was ok but why was there wilted rocket on the plate? Hubby liked his stew but hated the bread. Barmaid was not very switched on. Veggie lasagna on the menu but none available.

Love the ballroom for having parties and the staff are always so helpful.

Little disappointed, turned up at 20.00 hours Sunday evening, outside notice saying meals served till 22.00. Asked for table for two very promptly turned away and rudely. No problem being turned away as clearly see it was busy ,just the attitude of staff member doing so and no manners. Very uncomfortable being looked at by this member of staff as well .

It was pretty quiet when I went on Tuesday night, but the service, food, and Guinness were exceptional. Wish it would have been busier as I would have stayed longer. Will definitely go back.

Bar staff attentive and friendly. Good selection of craft beer in The Woodworker's. Tried the flight bar of beer, good way to sample a wide variety of beers. Staff were happy to cater the selection around your taste in beer, which for us was no wild/sour beer. Didn't have food so can't comment, would go back.

Class spot. Great food, brilliant atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Had a great night. Scooby Doo Burger and chips which was very tasty. 4 pints of Guiness Zero which wasn't bad at all. 3 games of pool, lost on the last black ball Umpteen games of shuffle board which I lost every time. A Single Malt Peated Hinch for the road. The music was pretty good as well.

Do not take the "special" offer on gin. I'm not sure what brand it was but it was AWFUL!! I have never left any alcohol behind me, but I was not able to even drink a quarter of my order.

Great place for playing pool and drinks. Only been upstairs but is huge with many tables and excellent smoking areas. Also run drinks offers which is a massive bonus for Belfast.

We had booked two pool tables through the booking portal without detailing we needed them beside each other. Without hesitation a member of staff rectified this on our arrival and made sure we had the best evening possible. Food was great and the pints were flowing!

Had a great day out celebrating my husbands birthday with some pool and cocktails There were 14 of us out and it was great craic. The poolroom was great and as i had booked we got great tables and space. We already had dinner reservations elsewhere but would have some food next time.

Spent an afternoon in the pool room. Great welcome from the staff and great service. Brought a beer from the other bar for one member of our party with each round. The team were so attentive and friendly. Great area and atmosphere.

Laverys 21st century is class. So different to my student days in 90s. Cracking range of rooms. Young crowd. Great vibes

Great place to visit and hang out. Reasonably priced, good food and friendly staff. I visit the pool room semi-regularly and there's so many tables that there's usually at least one available.
