Called for a portion of chips on my way home from work was charged£2 25 for cold inedible chips sharp scraps and hardly a full chip to be seen I am now seventy and have visited this chip shop since I was a teenager and this is the worst it has ever been will definitely not be returning unless the previous owners return .

Called in at lunch time. Won’t be doing that again. The amount of fat and grease attached to my food was disgusting. The paper it was wrapped in disintegrated in front of my eyes there was so much . Staff looked like they didn’t want to be there. Prices have also been increased. Shame it used to be so good.

under new ownership was a very very good chip shop now vile over cooked fish looked and tasted like it was the night before . no golden batter it was brown , chips awful pies stone cold ,only good part was the sausage and that was nothing special

You may find this hard to believe, but I live and work in Monaco but still travel back to Burnley regularly, or at least I did pre COVID; and when I do I have a craving for fish and chips as soon as I disembark the plane. I bypass every other chippy on my way back from the airport; and depending on the day and time I arrive, I make a beeline for this wonderful little chippy which has charm, but most of all because the fish and chips are first class. By the time I drive back from this chippy to my second home near Burnley my mouth is salivating. I wish this little gem of a place was near me here in the South of France.

Traveled up to Burnley from West Bromwich with work and after READING all the reviews on trip adviser, I just had too try the Fish & chips with curry sauce. I wasn't disappointed absolutely bostin. The fish was fresh with a very light and tasty batter. The chips & curry sauce were also very nice proper cumfort food. I think I was even given a free bread and butter Cob as we call them in the Black County. Thank you I will deffinertly be back for more. The Owner and staff were also very pleasant and we had a nice natter as I was being served. If you are passing and want cumfort food then you'll be mad to pass them by.

Great fish and chips. lightly battered fish excellent Good size portions. Social distancing managed really well felt safe in thes difficult times. having very little waiting time. Thank you.

18 months since last visited and still as good. Warm welcome eye contact pleasant smiles. Drove a mile to park up still very hot great tasting fish well cooked chips absolute fantastic value. Only thing chips pale though thoroughly cooked through (type of spud ?)

fish n chips taste out of this world with good size portions highly recomended.. been eating fosh and chips in burnley for 40+ years and trust me this is the best.

We were looking forward to fish and chips for tea. What a huge disappointment. One fish without batter and one lightly battered, 2 peas and small chips. Fish was just about passable, peas were rock hard and watery and chips were aniemic and barely cooked. Very disappointed and WON'T go again. If people say this is good then they obviously have no taste

Tried this Fish and chip shop today, excellent large quantity of delicious chips along with fresh battered haddock and mushy peas, being from the East of England on a three day break my accent was the giveaway, the owner gave me some curry sauce as I had asked what it was, what have I been missing all my life. I can see why it is busy. Finally last but not least the ladies working in the shop are delightful nearly as tasty as the fish and chips. We will be visiting Burnley again and will be eating in the same place without doubt, in the very near future.

Great food, great service and huge portions! We'd eat here every night if we could afford to. The pies are really good and they do things like mushy pea and bean fritters. Staff are fantastic

I have no complaints whatsoever about this fish and chip shop.Portions are always generous, the chips are always fluffy, the batter is always tasty and the food delicious - never bland or greasy.Service is always with a smile (the ladies serving are lovely and polite) and we are loyal customers because of this!

This is a fish and chip shop par excellence. It has all the essential ingredients - great food - really fresh fish - very friendly staff - and a lively atmosphere. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Went for 7 people, the staff are extremely friendly and great to talk to! Got a great load of food (2 bags full) and the cost was brilliant.Nice and easy to get to and park, I walked as its fairly close to where I live.

Visited today at lunchtime ( been driving and waiking past this place for the past 20 years but this is only my second ever vist) and I can honestly say the fish and a few chips ( which I asked for) were Top Notch without a shadow of a doubt! Clearly a fantastic fish and chips shop with out any frills which is all you need Keep up the fantastic work

Excellent chip shop. Excellent food served by the friendliest staff. Food is hot, not greasy, well cooked. This is a real traditionsl English chippy. Highly recommend it. The staff have real customer service values. It is no wonder it has been there so long and hopefully there much longer. Dont go anywhere else. Try the best, forget the rest.

A good plain English chippy (if that’s politically correct to say that) good food good friendly staff. Well worth the visit.

Visitamos aquí mientras visitábamos la familia y tenía peces grandes y patatas fritas. ¡Guau! Peces frescos que estaba preparado a pedido y muchas patatas fritas, no podíamos comer todos. También encantador guisantes blandos.

El pescado y patatas fritas de madera hut excelente servicio excelente vale la pena cada céntimo que gente realmente amable lo dirigen sus viernes debe.

Hablé con Mark, el propietario, ya que yo quería dar un grupo de visitantes de negocios alemanes la auténtica experiencia inglés fish'n chips para el almuerzo.

Siempre recién preparado, muy sabrosa, muy limpio, precios decentes y siempre con una agradable conversación.

Mi hija estaba en Oxford y queríamos un té población substanial. Ambos decidimos por pescado y patatas con guisantes blandos. El pescado era precioso y blanco, bonito masa. El personal que nos servía era agradable y eficiente. y el lugar era bonito y limpio. Los precios eran razonables y las porciones abundantes. Lo recomiendo.

Regularly visit this chip shop as we live close by. The staff are always very friendly & attentive. The portion sizes are generous & the price is right. We much prefer to our next nearest chip shop. Would recommend a visit.

I have been coming here for over sixty years and whoever seems to own it they never fail to produce great fish and chips! It must be the wood, a great friendly team run it now passed down from one generation to another but still maintaining the secret of how to provide a chippy tea.

If you have not been here you really are missing out. From being a small boy and nipping in here with my mum it holds a warm place in my heart. In current day it is just as good. I agree with other comments that this IS the best chippy in Burnley. They are friendly but even better than the old style proper welcome, the food is fabulous....

Proper Lancashire fish n chip shop, friendly service & excellent fish n chips (plenty of). Go there every now & then for a chippy treat. great menu, would highly recommend Lane Head Chippery

i moved local to this business around 2 years ago and i frequent it at least once a week.the place is very welcoming with friendly staff .the quality is second to none and freshly cooked when you arrive.there is a local chippy which has won awards and i dont know how as this is the best chippy in burnley.

After spending twenty five years or more on the road as a rep.(covering most of northern England and Wales ) I can vouch for the Lane Head chippy as being one of the best that I have found. I only call now and then, but the owner always remembers me and we have a friendly chat while I wait for my order being made up( usually freshly cooked ). The menu is better than most chippy`s, with new dishes being tried at regular intervals. I am not usually a big chippy fan but in this case I am happy to make an exception and would highly recommend giving it a try.

excellent,, fresh, hot and tasty,, even still serve scallops which are beautiful,, i do prefer fish without batter as with batter it is quite thick,, but the chips are to die for

visit once a fortnight for a treat.fresh fish cooked to order.always stay a while for a chat with the friendly staff.great to have your fish&chips wrapped in paper rather than in a plastic tray which tends to make your meal sweat a bit especially if your travelling.

Lanehead Chippy is a fab chippy, the staff are very friendly, they are always smiling, very funny banter goes on between the owners, I don't know why anyone would say it was poor, I see the fresh fish delivered every morning when I am on my way to work, the chips are to die for, and the fish are excellent value for money, (my wife says they are like whales, the size of them). My wife even sees the man who has the chippy helping elderly people down the steps to their cars, you don't get that at any other local chippy. Try it for yourself I van guarantee you won't go anywhere else.

Lovely fresh fish. Great friendly service at all times. They do a great small fish and chips, good if your dieting but need a treat. All the meals are hot and tasty.

The staff need to smile a bit more .. The chips where ok but the fish was a bit poor not sure it was very fresh
