Great fish, curry chips and chicken burger.

This has to be the worst fish & chips ever. The fish smelt bad. Tasted bad. Was likely overcooked, it was the worst batter I’ve seen on fish. It’s was absolutely vile. Grumpy straight faced staff. Expensive. It’s certainly not top of the town it’s the bottom it’s terrible. Chips were chunky barely cooked & hard.

Tried all the top rated chippys in the town & had to come back here twice cause of the great quality of food served. They use maris piper spuds, the goujans are the best I've ever had & portion sizes are massive! You can split a meal between 2 no bother. Staff are very friendly too had a good chat with the bossman!

Family run chippy. It was nice to have somewhere dry to sit to begin with as it rained outdoors. The food was freshly made and though we had fish suppers, goujons, burgers and chips, the food came out at the same time And tasted wonderfully. All six of us ate every bite…too late to take a picture with our actual food. Highly recommend.

The only thing I can say bad about this. Place is they say a price for a burger and then charge you 50p extra for the container to put it in.

My fiancé and 3 children were in the restaurant area and our 10 month old child was sick and the manager had the worst possible customer manners made my children and my fiancé feel awful! Poor customer service and when I called to complain the manager /owner was so rude on the phone. Will never be back! How could they do that to a child

Soggy hard chips... The worst combination you can get, honestly felt sick eating them. After trying and failing to find some chips that were cooked properly I went back in to get a new chip, only to get a snarky response about wanting mashed potatoes. Reading the reviews it seems I'm not the only one who's experienced this... you'd think a chippy would know how long to cook a chip for.

Very nice service. It's worth coming back here. Especially when you run down from the mountains hungry and run to catch the bus. Thank you again for the very fast service.

Horrible customer service, would avoid. I stopped in with my husband this week and prior to ordering requested to use the restroom. The owner/counter associate was horrifically rude, trying to force me to order prior to using the restroom. Completely put me off even ordering there! Not to mention the place was completely empty, while Newcastle itself was bustling.

The chips we got for our takeaway didn't look anything like the chips that were served to the sit ins, asked for a dip that we didn't get. But affordable and tasty.

Stinking. Cross the road and head to mccanns chippy. No1 in Newcastle for traditional fish and chip.

Not the place it was . Expensive. Charged £1 for curry having paid over £30. Thats poor service. No peas or lemon with fish. No takeaway boxes. Seems to becoming like a well known irish airline.

Great choice for gluten free food for my coeliac daughter. Very quiet as it was a cold Tuesday night but the owner knew we were coming as I phoned ahead and I think he stayed open for the four of us. Our meal was lovely, and the chips were proper chippy chips if you know what I mean, and loads of them. Would definitely go back.

Staff was very helpful but this fish and chips shop serve tasteless fish. I can’t work out how this place has got good reviews. The fish was old and frozen while the chips were good and tasty. That all I have to say.

The in house seasoned Southern fired chicken is a must- fresh and delicious. Fantastic family run business. Felt very welcome even though it was near closing. Recommended by locals.

Fish was hard and had a really odd taste. Chips were also unpleasant. Maybe just a bad day but I genuinely have never had worse fish and chips and couldn’t finish them. Had been looking forward to some lovely Northern Ireland fish and chips but definitely chose the wrong place.

Got the sausage supper, was absolutely divine, mum got the fish and chips and loved it too.

The best fish supper I've had in a long time. I will definitely walk to the top of the town the next time I visit Newcastle.

I sat in Kelly's top of the town with my wife and 15 year old son on a Saturday evening and we all had fish and chips and a wee tub of curry each and I have to say it was the best chippy food I've had in a very long time, the staff are all older and know how to do the stuff exactly to perfection, they are also very nice to order from, we would all highly recommend this place if your are look for bite to eat in Newcastle 😁👍

For good chips you need good spuds and the same for good fish,. So dear friends Kelly's fish & chips get a 10 out of 10,. From me,. And I have bought fish & chips for other's friends and they say good food from Kelly's,.

Called in to check it out, got a fish, lady who served me was lovely. The fish was DELICIOUS, fish was succulent, the batter was dry n crispy even though I had a 10/15 MIN WALK

Went there one evening and we've been before and we'll come again! Barely finished the meal since it was so large, I recommend sharing a fish supper - it's enough for even guys to share! The place is kept clean, which also includes the nicely kept toilets. Would recommend it to anyone who's in the area and is hungry for some proper fish 'n chips!

This was the best pasties and chips I've had in a long time. No greasy smells, owner told us they cook your food when ordered , so totally fresh. Lovely place and will be back. Highly recommend anyone to sample their food.

Called in for a fish supper. Very pleasant staff. Quick service, but well cooked food. Notice on window states "generous servings" this is very true box was full; staff added tape to stop box bursting open. Will be back.

Decent portions, good value, tasty homemade food. Tables disinfected between each customer. Friendly staff Has kids menu and indoor seating. Also serves coffee. Nice place for quick dine in fast food

The Best Onion Rings I've ever tasted ,-- and on a quiet Monday evening !!!

I was told not to visit, after friends had bad experience. but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Sorely disappointed! The food was okay, but when they served the child's cod bites and chips on a small plate, stacked with no room to spread, I went up and politely asked for a larger plate. Was refused and brushed off towards a sign that said extra postshey were a pound extra, as that would mean I was _sharing_ that small plate. They knew I had my OWN meal, so who was she sharing with? No-one there to share with! I said it was just so we could cut the 5 yr old's food to cool it down. But no, they flatly refused. Had to start cutting the cod bites on the napkin :( Afraid I cannot recommend. Avoid.

If I could give zero stars I would a large family of us went in for a bite to eat with hardly no one sitting we were told they are to busy to serve us... Now as I said there was at max 14 people if a sit in chippy can't cope with that amount people they seriously want to look into a different profession... Absolutely fuming especially with young kids

Been open in Newcastle for a few years now and only recently tried it but have to say now its the best chippy in Newcastle for value and thier fish is amazing. You need to try their onion rings aswell they are the biggest iv ever seen. Amazing.

Not long after sitting down we got our meals, freshly made where we could see our food being prepared for us, we received a good generous portions of food. Tasteless food. I bought a combo with scampi, salad and chips, and even the scampi wasn’t nice.

The food there was amazing! An amazing food proportion! Would reccomend going there if u want the best fish and chips ever!(in my opinion)

Great chips and the pastie was huge!!!!

Very good service and big quantity! They take realy care about the product. Onion rings and mushrooms always will be a good choice. Try the pepper sauce or curry sauce with the goujons.

Wow. The best I've ever had. Drove to Newcastle on a day trip, heard this place was decent and seen the good score. It really is that good. You don't know how amazing a chippy can be til you've tried them. I'm not even a local and this blows all my local chippies out of the water. Go there.

Had fish and chips here tonight. Staff were lovely and the place was spotless. Fish and chips were delicious...and got a free helping of onion rings! Would recommend!!!
