The best coffee shop in Birmingham The owners are clearly very passionate about coffee and really know there stuff! You won’t find the speciality / guest coffee all in one place anywhere else! The food is also great! Definitely try the Hong Kong buns.

One of the best coffee shops in Birmingham. Allen and Arvy are clearly deeply passionate about all things coffee and cafe culture and it shows in the premium products and vibe they've created. The speciality coffees they serve are always excellent and they source exciting retail coffees from all over the world. They also source the best pastries and cakes and ingredients for their food menu which is always changing and growing. It's also a stone's throw from Sutton Park which makes it a must-visit.

Absolute love Jubilee garden but for one vital issue - I am a great fan of artisan coffee but sadly the coffees used at Jubilee Garden are not to my liking. Friends of mine agree. The staff, the food, the attention to detail, the atmosphere cannot be faulted. Please have a bigger choice of beans! I worry that the business may not succeed if lots of people dislike the coffee. Hope this review is seen positively as trying to be informative.

£14 for a pot of green tea with toast & 1 poached egg….Apparently it’s the sourdough bread. I choked when I got the bill, very Expensive and average. However, it was a nice cafe, good for a catch up. Menu was very simple, not much else to say.

I'd been desperate to visit jubilee garden and I was not disappointed whatsoever. Gorgeous little place, so neatly and simply decorated that it would be hard not to feel relaxed here. Even the chairs had little socks on to stop them screeching across the hardwood floor! And that's the kind of thought and care that I imagine goes into everything here. The baked goods are divine, the drinks are made with care and attention. The knowledge of the coffee they have is fantastic, everything from source to flavour. I LOVED the Hong Kong crispy bun. It's so simple, and one of the most comforting snacks I've ever eaten. I can't speak highly enough of the two ladies working there as well. As sweet as the cakes in the cabinet. My small dog was welcomed in, she found a cosy spot inside. Don't put off visiting here. Keep this independent treasure open!

Sutton Coldfield needs more coffee shops? Yes, there is never enough independent, artisan coffee shops imho. I love what the owners, Alan and his partner, have done with the space once occupied by a mobile phone store. The interior is white, bright, floral and cutting edge. Jubilee Garden doesn’t just surprise on the coffee front (it has 3 filter coffees on offer, a light espresso and dark decaf espresso). Take a look at the food menu. The baked goods, in part, come from Birmingham’s best, Silver Tree Bakery. There are some familiar brunch options and some cool home made Hong Kong inspired ones too (check out their Hong Kong Crispy Bun). Alan, the owner, is passionate about Coffee, and I’m sure wine too. He is an amazing barista. I completely forgot I had met him before at The Woods Cafe (arguably the best in Solihull). I was dumb-founded when he referred to me by my first name.

I'd been out with a group of chums to see "Dune: Part 2" (oh, and I have opinions about THAT!) and fancied something appropriately spicy afterwards: The spice must flow! We chose Rumana's on a recommendation from a friend's sister, and I'm glad we did. Their website says they "pride ourselves in treating our customers like members of our family", and it really felt like we were old friends visiting someone's home (especially with the well-behaved kids scooting around and being generally delightful - and I don't even like kids!) I think we were served by Rumana herself, and she was welcoming and helpful - a real pleasure to meet someone so engaged and enthusiastic about their restaurant, and being a great host. The other staff were also very polite and helpful, and knowledgable about the menu. Speaking of which: The menu has a selection of dishes which seem unusual and possibly unique to this restaurant. I won't go into too much detail about my friends' dishes, but all were given the thumbs up. The poppadoms came out first, of course, but the accompanying sauces need some props: Their chili-sauce-gravy thing was incredible (I almost asked if I could take some home). Most curry / balti restaurants in Brum seem to have their own 'red sauce' and it's not often one stands out as being extra-special and worthy of a paragraph of review: This was one of those special sauces. Spicy, tangy (tamarind?), thick, and with a huge amount of flavour. Well done, chef! For a starter, I had Shunamoti: I've never had a cheesy chicken tikka omelette before, but I will certainly have it again (and probably learn to make it at home). Very unusual, and very tasty. for my main, I decided to opt for something at the spicy end of the scale, and had to ask about the story behind "What the Bloody?!" (yes, that is what it is called) - no spoilers! You'll have to find out yourself. It warranted three chilis on the menu (not the hottest thing they serve), but this was a home-cooking 3 chilis and was at the top end of my spice tolerance (which is quite high), so be warned! I can recommend the mango lassi as a wonderful 'control rod' for the naga reaction. However: The dish was not just hot for the sake of being hot, but had a real depth of flavour, too. The accompanying roti was fluffy, fresh and hot. I am also reliably informed that their Peshawari Naan is one of the best my friend had ever had (and they lived in India for a while), drizzled with honey and with juicy sultanas embedded within. The restaurant is unlicensed, but there is a small shop over the road where you can buy booze if you need to. It's also next door to a 'Spoons if you want pre- or post-curry cask ales. Overall, a great experience. Northfield seems to be THE place for getting something authentic, unusual, and very tasty these days (I reviewed the equally excellent Omar Khayam a few weeks ago). I'll be back to explore the rest of the menu at some point: I definitely need to try the Atomic Chips!
