Jenos Place in Coleraine

A bit disappointed to say the least. Drove our motorhome all the way to stay in Carrick Dhu site and arrived just after 7pm. After parking and setting up, my husband walked round to get a chippy as google said it was open until 9pm. He left around 8pm to head to the chippy and an hour later he wasnt back so I just assumed he was in a queue and as it was a large camp site, it was probably pretty busy. He had also left his phone. After an hour and 20mins I decided to walk the dogs to find him and noticed the chippy was closed and to find out that hubby had walked all the way into town to get us one and walked back. He loves to walk so that was okay, but what an inconvenience, if Google was updated then a simple google search could have told us it was closed and we could have arranged something else. We were so hungry after the drive as we we were so looking forward to this one at Jenos Place after all the reviews.

Drove all the way here seeing the recommendations but sadly it was closed on a Saturday at 17:40. Unsure whether it’s permanent.

We had takeaway from Jenos place yesterday. The owner was very polite and welcoming… we had a Celiac person with us and he went over and above to help prepare food that was suitable. Best fish/chips by far in Portrush

We took two fish and chips and a chicken burger to take away, which we then ate at home. We were very satisfied.

Great spot for traditional fish and chips. 5* will definitely call again

A gem of a find. We were staying in a nearby campsite and came across this lovely fish and chip shop. Due to technical difficulties they were only accepting cash,I didnt have sterling cash on me but Michael kindly offered that I could drop money back in later on that day. I was blown away with this, very few people would be this trusting in this day and age! Kids devoured all food, really tasty and not greasy. Michael was extremely helpful and chatty. Will definitely return the next time we are up in Antrim, a great spot on a lovely scenic route along the coast.

Great chip shop! I got the cowboy supper and a pasty that that was more than enough for me! Chips were exactly what you want from a chip shop! The owner was very personable and was great to chat with

WOW. just. WOW. Jeno has pleasantly surprised me, with his culinary brilliance and steely presence he evokes from his workstation. Each and every dish composed of ingredients found in this heavenly location have been crafted with such masterful taste, care and love that it brought tears to my eyes. Jeno is the only man I could see earning four Michelin stars for his pure, utter brilliance that simply cannot be replicated in any other measly chippy. Thank you Jeno. Thank you.

Got a chipper here during a quick stay in the campsite beside. At getting to the door we were dismayed to see they don’t take card. We are from the south and stay mostly cashless and for sure didn’t want any sterling which would sit in a drawer for god know how long after. The owner immediately asked if we were in the campsite and said drop the money in tomorrow no worries. We thought this was an unbelievable gesture as he didn’t know us from Adam and we had 2 hungry kids along with us 2 hungry adults and the nearest atm was a bit of a skip especially as we’d have to move the motorhome to go! Anyway in the end I offered Revolut which worked out nicely. But again what a nice gesture and lovely to see some trust in humanity. The food was decent and service quick so if your out this way please do visit them.

Spent the weekend camping at Carrick Dhu and availed of Jenos on the Sunday evening. My partner and I had the fish and chips, which were absolutely fantastic. Cooked to perfection, with light, crisp and dry batter. We ate everything in the box. The cooking facilities were very well kept, and the staff were both affable and welcoming, and open to chat. One of the best Chip Shops I have eaten from, and I would highly recommend a visit, if you are in the area and looking for a ‘take out’ option.

Hotdog was two greasy a Sausages on a burger bun, kids nuggets inedible , flat fish and chips with some kinda weird tartar sauce - Avoid!!!

Chips were excellent. I think they were 'homemade'. Food overall was very good.

Great chip shop, never had a bad carry out from it. Ive never had a greasy chip. Friendly staff. My only complaint is they dont extend their opening times.

Wouldn't use any other chippy when in Portrush/Portstewart! Decent portions, very tasty chicken goujons and the best curry sauce ever!!!!!! Friendly staff!!
