Some of the best food I’ve had in my lifetime. Staff are all legends and couldn’t be more welcoming. Their take on the Sunday roast is life changing. Can’t recommend this place enough!!!

On a weekend in Leeds, we fancied some Caribbean food, so gave Jamrock a try. We were not disappointed, as the food was extremely flavoursome and tasty. We probably ordered too much, with a mains of jerk chicken, plus a selection of small plates. But everything was so good, we did our best to finish everything. The cocktails are also fantastic, and strong. So while they are on the pricey side, they're worth the money. The decor and music also added to the overall experience.

Goat curry. The goat meat curry was very bitter. The menu says rice with peas however when rice came with curry they had red kidney beans in them. I am not fussed about that but the menu says peas. The goat could maybe just sheep and again I am not bothered about that if it wasn’t bitter. The presentation isn’t bad therefore giving 3 star. I did a bit of digging and figured out why it was bitter and it was too much of rosemary which made it bitter. It might be ok for those who are used to the overly powered rosemary flavoured curry but I was with other colleagues from work who ordered the same and thought same. Other people who ordered fish and chicken were happy.

Table for 3, out for a mother's day meal. Warm, friendly welcome and shown to our table quickly. The restaurant is all flat floor level which was great for our aging mum. Vibrant environment with sweet reggae music played by the DJ. Food ordered, only a short wait. Drinks took a little longer. We had a new server and it was her 1st day. She was unsure of some of the menu items but was polite and went to ask senior staff about our request (better to do that then give wrong information so that was great). The food itself was immense! So tasty. Huge portions, we took some home as we couldn't finish it! Overall, a great eatery with great vibes. We will definitely be back. X

Food and portions were really good, can’t fault it! Service was quite slow for a couple of drinks at our table - it wasnt busy either, but could be other reasons why the service wasn’t as speedy! Atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly. I’d recommend giving this place a go :)

Me and my husband travelled from Birmingham to stay in Leeds for the weekend of 22-24 March. We googled Caribbean places to dine for our sunday meal and found Jamrock. The food was absolutely delicious and the young men serving so polite and helpful. Will definitely be coming back to Leeds to visit this restaurant again, this time will bring our children who I've told about our experience and they want to try it 😊

Absolutely amazing. The customer service is outstanding and so is the food. The best curry goat I’ve had by a mile and I will definitely be returning. Only complaint I’ve got is the fact I didn’t visit this place sooner!!

We came in for dinner! The food was very fresh ! Very tasty! You will not be disappointed, the service was good ! Its a 10 out of 10 for us! Don't walk by call in even if it is for a drink.... the prawns are stunning!!!!!

Owner was very generous and offered us a discount if we chose to eat there for lunch,. Food did not disappoint was so yummy.

Visited on one of the busiest days of the year, there were only 2 other people in the restaurant, not sure why this would be.With it being so quiet the atmosphere is lacking. The quality of food is not the best, for the prices being charged you expect the quality should be much higher, not just chicken with pre made sauce. Paid £33 for jerk chicken and 2 drinks.

Friendly, professional staff. Great vibe and great music. The food was amazing. I have chicken curry with rice and peas. The chicken was so tender, I really enjoyed it. I’ll be back for sure

We had yet another fantastic dining experience at Jamrock Leeds! If you’re in search of authentic Jamaican cuisine, this spot should be at the top of your list. Amazing food. Hard to choose what to eat, the menu is that good. We had the jerk chicken, tiger prawns (HUGE) and some dumplings on the side. All washed down with a rum punch cocktail. All the staff were amazing too. A real gem in Leeds and you would be mad to not visit. If anyone remembers FlavourHut and misses it, come here ASAP.

You can give the Jamaican meal a shot here, but don’t expect anything extraordinary! The food is pretty average in taste. However, the service and ambiance are really good!

I travel across the UK a lot with work but hate being stuck in hotels eating on my own every night, a quick Google search and I found Jamrock a short walk away. I arrived on a quiet cold night but had a warm welcome from the staff. Jerk chicken with rice and peas was really good, crispy flavourful skin with tender meat underneath. Also had the beef patties by recommendation from the staff. Food was great, friendly staff, brilliant music and well decorated

Love this place! Food was sooooo good! Had the chickpea curry and vegetable patties, perfect amount of spice and full of flavour. Drinks were strong too! Staff are so lovely. Couldn’t recommend more!

The food, the atmosphere and the service is amazing. There is also a DJ which makes the experience even better. I'd only say that the wine options and the deserts are a bit let down. Otherwise totally recommend to try Jamaican foods.

Coming from the Cayman Islands we needed a taste of home and JAMROCK delivered. Food was great and the Caribbean uni kids will be making the trek for sure.

First time eating at Jamrock and we both loved it...The flavours were on point and the staff were super friendly, the chef even de-shelled my prawns for me at the table! I would 100% recommend this place and we will be returning for sure 😁

lovely staff, delicious food and great portion sizes. i went for lunch with my mum - we ordered the vegan roast dinner, ackee and saltfish with rice and peas and a side of plantain. we were so impressed with everything on our plates and enjoyed every bite ! we’ll definitely be back soon and with friends !!

I've been to Jamrock several times now, and the food is truly authentic Jamaican, just like my grandma and proper Jamaicans would cook. It's great that the flavours haven't been toned down so people can experience the trur flavours of Jamaica. The cocktails are fantastic, too.

The food was amazing, the atmosphere was epic, background music was electric. I was up from Leicester for the day and had eaten from this place when they had a stall in the shopping centre the year before, so hunted the restaurant down for my taste of Jamaica. The staff was great, the food was great, and my belly was full. Definitely recommended. Family-friendly place as a few birthdays were celebrated there, where the owner played some reggae birthday tunes to set the mood. Little Jamaica 🇯🇲 in Leeds.

jamrock has a small, well curated menu with what looks like no bad options. i got the curry goat, which was amazing; i tried my friends jerk chicken was also gorgeous. they've poured a lot of energy into creating a great atmosphere, its well decorated, and the music was great. the only thing that lets them down a little was the service, it was a saturday so it was busy but we waited a while for our drinks order to be taken, same with food. the lack of a clear "wait here to be seated" area made things feel a little chaotic and confusing, but that would be quickly fixed by a sign. overall, i would still completely recommend jamrock as despite the wait for orders to be taken, the food arrived fairly quickly, and it was great when it did!

Me and my friends went there for bottomless brunch. It was three of us and considering the fact that we were the only customers there since it was a quiet Sunday, the service was terrible. We payed £40 each for about 4 cocktails each in a span of 1h30mins. The girl servicing us was not coming to check on us regularly and wouldn’t give us drinks u tol about 10 mins after finishing the ones we had. It is not worth the price. I wouldn’t even pay £10 for that. I will never come here again and have told all my friends and family to not bother and go there. Revolution Electric place is the best for bottomless brunch 😌

This is the 2nd time I've been here, possibly within 2 months. The food is, in my opinion, excellent quality. I've had the salmon, with my daughter and her cousin having curried goat (bone free and delicious). We added extras of mac n cheese, fried dumplings (super soft, fluffy, and light). All very moreish. My mouth is watering right now as I write this 😀 I'm running out of people to go with me to Jamrock in Leeds. I might have to take a solo trip! I felt comfortable enough to make that trip alone. The staff were friendly and knew about the food they were serving. Oh, I nearly forgot about the drinks...Pina Colada...5*, Rum Slush...5*, there was a melon drink too, and many more 😅. I still had room for a pudding. At the time of visiting, we didn't feel like there was a rush to ask you to leave your table. The atmosphere was lovely with music from the Caribbean and reggae inspired songs. The toilets were clean, and I loved the decor in there: The Caribbean Dictionary...words and their translations. Fantastic idea

Was a great experience for me and my son for a Thursday evening dinner. Food are nice.

Great atmosphere,although music was very loud and we had to shout to be heard! Food arrived in good time. Most of our party enjoyed the food. Chick pea curry was very mild and bland(£16.95). Had to request dressing for salad leaves as were dry. The serving staff were very cheery and nothing was a trouble.

Came here yesterday with a mate, and although the price is high, the quality is higher! One of the best Caribbean places I've been to in awhile.

Visited yesterday for a birthday lunch on a day out in Leeds. Has the potential to be really amazing but left feeling a bit underwhelmed. Service was a bit slow but our waitress had only just started there. Food was delicious but portions were disappointing - quite a bare plate for £19 and the puddings came out cold and looking a bit sad.

Delicious and authentic. The ackee was fab and I loved the plantain. I am actually part Jamaican and consider Jamaica my second home. I can say I highly recommend jamrock for a fabulous Caribbean experience!

We had a bottomless brunch here and left hungry and ripped off! 😡 It was not worth £38 pp! FOOD- The plate consisted on 2 spoonfuls of rice and 1/4 of a chicken thigh!! Another member of our group ordered curry goat and were given 4 pieces of meat!! Not enough food for an adult and not at all what was advertised!! Really disappointing considering they claim to be a "real" carribbean restaurant. It was a child's portion! Either they need to start advertising their brunch as small plates so people are aware of miniature portion sizes, reduce prices or increase their portion sizes. Even if they had added a dumpling or two it would have helped 🤣 The jerk chicken was more BBQ chicken than Jerk. We ended up having to order additional sides, mac and cheese was horrible but the fried dumplings were nice. DRINKS - I recommend the blue mountain cocktail. I also purchased a Pina colada separately which just tasted of lime. Several other drinks were also made incorrectly and had to be returned to the bar. They only had 1 member of staff on the bar for a restaurant full of people. STAFF - the staff were nice and did agree the portion sizes were tiny compared to what's normal for a brunch. They they said they end up having to have the conversation with customers about portion sizes for brunch a lot. But the manager said there was nothing they could do to help, apart from advise us to spend more money to buy sides. They said that owner chooses to focus on the quality of the drinks... But it's not like they were amazing or made correctly every time. VIBE - the decor of the restaurant is lovely. Overall the restaurant does have great potential. It is just really disappointing that the food wasn't to standard and everyone left hungry and feeling ripped off. I hope that management decide to listen to customers as it does have great potential. I hate to leave negative reviews, but this was my second visit to Jamrock, and unfortunately I won't be back again.

Spent valentines here and the food was lovely. Had to mark down for atmosphere because two couples broke out in a brawl but this added a bit of extra spice to our Valentine’s Day and we were grateful for our front row seats.

Came today with my son, service was brilliant and the food was absolutely lovely, nice touch with the music playing too. My son absolutely loved it he was so looking forward to trying the food today and the food and staff didn’t disappoint, will definitely be back

Visited for a friend’s hen last night, all the staff were so accommodating and couldn’t fault a thing!

Portions were small. Advertised as a “half chicken” but it’s actually a leg and a wing. Service was OK but could have been more attentive. Generally let down and i don’t think we will be back. It’s more of a bar that and type of place you might share food on a way out for a night out than a restaurant.

10/10 service food and atmosphere, definitely recommend to anyone looking for good caribbean food in the city centre

Brunch here is not worth the £38. We all left hungry since they must have put us all on rations. Two spoon fulls of rice and 2 bites of chicken isn’t enough for an adult. Which is a shame because the taster was great food. Cocktails were nice but they got funny about ordering more drinks. So I got 3 drinks maximum.

Portion were small, the curry goat had 3 bits of meat. Drink were flowing but the hunger was real

Went for the brunch menu. We were served a baby's portion size as a main. #insult. quater of a piece of chicken thigh. 2table spoons of rice & a teaspoon of coleslaw. We were encouraged to order sides. The sides were bigger then the mains. For £38 per person with drinks it was abysmal. Super disappointed. The atmosphere and service is heavily forced to compensate the lack of food. A revamp is definitely needed.

Always great food, music and good vibes. Had my favourite Curry Goat (never disappoints). Went on a Friday evening as a walk in but I advise to book if going on a Saturday as it is busy.

Visited on Saturday for my birthday. We had high hopes for this place as I heard so many good things before the renovation! We had 13 people for bottomless brunch, and sadly, the services was not up to scratch. It wasn't that the lady serving us wasn't lovely she was, she was just rushed of her feet because they just don't have enough staff. We were waiting at least 15-30 minutes in-between each round of drinks. On a bottomless brunch, the drinks are meant to flow rapidly. It would be better if they perhaps put 2x bottles of prosecco on the table in ice buckets for you to drink alongside the cocktails (which were nice) and this would at least keep your party going whilst you waited. The waiting around did dampen the atmosphere, and my friends were disappointed. The food saved the night as it was lovely and good options. Portions were reasonable for a brunch, but again, the food didn't all come out at once, and someone had to wait until everyone else had finished, and then she got her dish and ate on her own. My close friend does a different brunch every weekend, and she rated it a 5. I definitely don't think it's worth £38 pp £25 maybe.

Honest review few thing firstly party of 4 we sat down Straight away they got drinks order was wrong (fair enough) then we waited nearly 1hr for our food then only 3 meals came out and when the last meal came out the rest of out friends had finished curry goat 4 pieces of meat wish I had taken a photo because for 16£ (laughable) Man don't want to pay £16 and start thinking we need to go KFC just to be full Jeremy chicken caked in BBQ sauce reheated and stail Order coleslaw that was brought out after we'd finish our meals Best thing on menu dumplings but for £4 for some dough F MY LIFE honestly really poor food and service 4/10

Came today first time atmosphere was great welcoming greeting by bar staff, got ackee and saltfish and fried dumpling to be honest I've never seen ackee and salt fish look, and taste that way, very wet and watery couldn't see the saltfish, dumplings too greasy and under cooked. no disrespect but this is not authentic carribean food, being afro carribean and being brought up on authentic carribean food I'm sorry but this is not. One of our friends had waited one hour and ten minutes till he finally got his meal. I just feel afro carribean food should be and look and taste authentic keep it original.

Fantastic service. The food freshly cooked and well enjoyed. The portions looked small but was more than enough.

We went on a Saturday - it was quite busy but the following happened, hence the rating: Food took 1.5 hours on the clock from order to arrival One of the plates had something in it ( hair or lint ) 2 starters did not arrive ( and we did not ask for them again as we didn’t want to wait any longer ) The bill was wrong, it included the 2 starters that did not arrive and the wrong size for a drink. The cocktails and atmosphere were good. I think they need more kitchen staff and all should be good. The worst thing was that no one told us about the long wait on food before ordering.

Best Caribbean food spot by far! My family are from Jamaica and I haven’t tasted anything so good. I’ll travel far to eat from here. See you again very soon!🙌🏾

Terrible service and frozen patties! We had a big group booking and we all arrived at 7pm. Waited for somebody to take our drinks order but after 15mins I tried to order at the bar and they said the staff will be with us soon to take our drinks order. Waited another 15mins so tried the bar again but same reply. It took 45mins for someone to take our drinks order and 20mins for the drinks to arrive. 1 hour and 5 minutes for a drink! It gets worse........ 90% of the group had pre-ordered the food so it should have arrived shortly after we did but nothing was served until 8.15pm. Even then it was random food that nobody ordered but we were ready to eat anything at this point so I took a bite into a pattie and realised the middle was still frozen! I told the waiter who wasn't sure what to do with this information. We waited until 9pm and eventually had enough of the hunger and left without eating anything. The bathroom facilities were also unhygienic with no hand wash in the mens toilet. All the above really spoiled the birthday celebrations so we won't be eating here again.

Waited for one hour and a half for the food to come. My food had fluff in it, I rejected it but didn’t get any appology from the stuff. They forgot to bring our sides but they didn’t forget to add them on the bill. Just terrible experience, terrible food and terrible service.

I saw some intriguing reviews so u thought I check it out on my own. It was midweek so it was a bit of a quiet night. I enjoy a little bit of loudness so when I heard they have an upbeat Saturday i thought a double visit wouldn't hurt. They could do a little better on the sitting of customers and wait time. But when all is settled it's worth the hype. Will visit again.

Came from Doncaster. First time having Caribbean food after seeing the social media content. The food pictures and the taste is definitely a match. Though they did take a few moments to clear previous tables. Overall a good experience

We booked a table, got a drink and eventually our food order was taken. Over 1 hour later we still hadn’t received our food. The atmosphere was more of a club than a restaurant. We weren’t even offered a time scale when it would be ready. We left hungry and disappointed. Won’t be going again.

Book table online for 4 at 8.30pm arrive at 8.15pm table not ready won't be available for another 45min wasn't happy come all way from Huddersfield looking forward, meal .Said Book in advance for table he apologies we walk out went somewhere else. I have never experienced such poor customer service while dining! I was visiting Leeds and after seeing good reviews decided to check out Jamrock. Prior to going I was going to make a reservation but when I looked online saw there was plenty of availability so I decided to just walk in instead. Upon arrival I was greeted by a rude worker and told there was a 2 to 3 hour wait until the next table is available even though there were a number of empty tables. I then stepped outside, went online and booked a table 10 mins from the current time and came back 10 mins later and was seated. [What was the point of turning me away in the first place?? ] I ordered a drink and main shortly after being seated. The drink arrived promptly, which was disappointing in taste. I asked if they could sweeten it as it was very bitter but was told no. While waiting I noticed people that arrived after me recieved their food. After 45 mins i asked when the food would be arriving and was told it was coming. After an hour had passed, I still hadn't received my food or an update, so I decided to cancel the order and leave. I was highly disappointed. It came across more as a lounge than a restaurant. I can't speak on the food as I didn't try it but the staff and management need to do a better job when it comes to customer service. I will gladly not go back there again.

I very rarely post on Google to give a bad review – only good reviews – so this is an indication of how angry I am about my recent dinner experience at Jamrock. I made a 7:45pm reservation for 1 on a Saturday night and arrived on time, only to be told that the table wasn't ready. At 8pm I asked if I could at least stand at the bar and order a drink while I waited, so I did that (and to the restaurant's credit, the cocktail I ordered was given to me free, on the house). Still it wasn't until 8:50pm, more than an HOUR after my booking started, that I was finally shown to my table. Did they give me a menu? Nope. I had to ask for a menu when I was asked what I wanted to order because the staff who worked there couldn't see that I didn't have a menu. The only good thing about my entire experience that night was that when I was FINALLY able to order some food, it arrived fairly quickly and it was really good. Absolutely everything else about my experience there was horrible; I didn't really care about this as I came solo, but the music from the DJ was definitely too loud for anyone to actually have a conversation. Then, when my plates were cleared up and I asked for the bill, the staff took HALF AN HOUR to come around with the card machine even though I was constantly trying to get their attention and one of the staff members clearly saw that, and didn't do anything about himself. Why? The people who work there genuinely seemed more interested in socialising with the guests, especially if they were attractive, and chatting amongst themselves, than actually doing their jobs. Why am I so angry about this? 1. I was in Leeds for the weekend as a tourist and I had plans after dinner. They were ruined by the ridiculously awful customer service and timekeeping standards at this restaurant. 2. I specifically wanted to come to this restaurant because it had good reviews and I had never had Jamaican food before. I want to have Jamaican food again but definitely not at any restaurant run by these clowns, and if they decide to expand to the city where I live, I'll have to tell my friends not to go there.
