IKEA Restaurant in Renfrewshire

Went there yesterday and can't believe how bad the restaurant has become. It used to be a good experience, but sadly it's now over priced,understaffed and the portions have shrunk considerably, I would only go now midweek as the weekend prices are a rip off. I stood in a queue 30mins,busy Saturday only 2 staff on tills despite there being 4 tills available. Most of the shelves were empty, no cans of coke so had to have flat draught coke, barely any cakes,sandwiches etc. The meatballs used to be good value but now it's £5.50 for what looks like a children's portion,8 meatballs & barely any chips. On a wed the same meal only costs £3 with the family card.By the time we battled the q to get coffees & drinks ( coffee machines not working) we sat down to freezing cold food. Better off just going to mcdonalds. Even the apple pie etc are ridiculously priced at 3.50 for a tiny slice!! Seriously ikea need to sort there restaurant out, I definitely won't be returning!

Very busy,prepare to queue for 10 minutes to be served. Hot chocolate is the best ever.

The coffee and food are decent for the price, making it an affordable place to grab a bite. It's a great spot for families, offering plenty of high chairs and a designated play area for kids. Additionally, they offer special deals throughout the week for IKEA Family cardholders, adding even more value to your visit.

Everything is disgustingly filthy. We had to look through three full trays of ‘clean’ cups to find two cups that were almost clean enough to drink out of. Get a grip!

Sadly, both the quality and the quantity of food from the ikea restaurant have significantly reduced! On my last 3 visi to the Ikea restaurant, I have consistently experienced cold food. Reduced quantity and unfriendly staff!

Tasty and simple. Like someone said: Minimum effort- maximum satisfaction

As a diabetic I wanted to swap out chips/mash for veg. This can't be done. I ended up paying £5.50 for meatballs and cold peas. The special is £3.00 which was meatballs. IKEA is the only place I have been in where the menu can't be tweaked to cope with dietary requirements.

Set up is very bad, as it’s impossible to get just a cake and coffee without waiting in the very long hot food queue, so we often go elsewhere.

Cheap lunch, reasonable quality. I find food gets cold by the time we negotiate the queues and pay and then get hot drinks.

Although IKEA has pledged to be 50% plant based by 2025, it feels as if they have a long way to go. The meal that is advertised as plant-based meatballs with mash, gravy and lingonberry sauce in fact contains dairy. I feel this is false advertising. What would help is if they put allergens on the screens and on the food tags. The meal was very dry and bland without the condiments. Also they stated that they had no lingonberry sauce. Very disappointing and won't be returning for a long time. Especially as it's not difficult to make mash potato or gravy vegan friendly.

Today, I had Unclean food i have had complained to the chef. He replaced the plate without any apology. you can see a picture of a hair on pea

Went there after a browse around the store, The food was good and as it was a Friday the price was nearly half price because it had a family card, once ordered food did get a clear lid to keep our food hot as there was a queue waiting to pay, once sat down and started to eat it was still hot

Quick nip in and 50p coffee during to being a member. Very chuffed

Food cold, impatient staff, the guy serving the food looked like he was in the wrong job, training needed

To slow by the time you get to eat your food is stone cold

Ended up with a rotten stomach and everyone was in pjs. Really bad.

Long long wait for my meatballs and mashed potatoes, one hard working server, bless her, very efficient, but an extra pair of hands would have made queue go quicker

Only two people servicing so there was a que, only two places for charging your ev in the huge car park they have, not good.

Love going for bargain breakfast . Staff don't look very happy at service area . Cash desk girls more pleasant . Good free tea/coffee if you have ikea card.

A nice change. Arrived too early for the place to open, so treated myself to a breakfast. The food was nice and price was very reasonable.

Can't beat a portion of meatballs at the restaurant. Worth a visit just to have them.

It's quite a giant shopping area for the whole home built up comprising all rhe day to day working and living of the place. Captures all the stuff ranging from kids and children to the adults for complet home accessories and main items. Regarding the cilustomer support you will find a quite number of support staff to guide you over the shelf items and share the ideas for designing a well suited living place of your dream. However, I was really disappointed over the poorly maintained facility as the place was really uncomfortable and dirty.

We went to the restaurant for the famous meatballs at Glasgow store. Very disappointing as no sauce or loganberry they offered curry sauce but that's a no no with meatballs. Also not very hot at all and chipped cup had to take back and no coke. Deffinately not our day at the famous ikea store in Glasgow on bank Holiday monday

Great breakfast for a low price

Enjoyed my fish chips and pea's and finished it off with a piece of apple & cinnamon cake and a cappuccino. Hubby had the meatballs,mash and pea's and apple & cinnamon cake . Hubby loved the prices so we will be back.

ikea just have it right in all respects, pity other restaurant's s don't try as hard as they do.

IKEA's restaurant is a great spot for affordable and tasty food. Using the IKEA Family card offers excellent value, which is perfect for families. We tried the breakfast fry-ups, and they were delicious—much better than we expected for the price. Compared to other places, the food is high quality and budget-friendly, making it a fantastic choice for a satisfying meal without spending too much.

Staff friendly and communicative. Food well priced, good portions. Love getting hints on TV screen re Swedish cooking. Gravadlax one of my favourite dishes along with, of course the legendary meatballs eith lingonberry jam! Good children's options ideal to use this if shopping in the store. Free teas coffees weekdays make it affordable to eat out for young families. Good food choices. Excellent veg options Kerala veg curry looked good, must try it. Nan breads as accompaniment, all needs catered for.

VERY POOR FOOD WOULD,NT GO BACK TO IT

Called to collect an order and it's against the law not to call at the restaurant for something to eat( well I mean meatballs) Queue wasn't too bad but the service was spot on! Great hot food and a great price! Came away with a full car and stomach.

Did not enjoy my experience. Those serving did not have an encouraging, attentive attitude towards their Family Card. Even the manager could not explain what information were they seeking from card holder people, when I asked him.. Basically he did not know, so why sign up to something that cannot be explained to you and why financially charge non card holders approximately three times the price for a hot drink. In this world much effort is put towards people being treated as much as possible with equality. I feel that this is the reverse of that.

Lunch was very cheap so happy 😁

There food is healthy, tasty and good value for money

Have eaten here several times ,mostly breakfast of late and for a large cafe diner they do a good job . Staff have always been friendly when I speak with them and that adds to the atmosphere . It's a good stop-off too when you have been round the store .

Loved the hot dogs and I didn't mind the self service with plenty of choices for tea coffee and juices for my Granddaughter

The variety was too good. Tried their famous Swedish meatballs with chips & salmon with quinoa. For desserts, had their strawberry tart and a very delicious blueberry cheesecake.

Meatballs to die for. Don’t care how many times we visit, meatballs are always the go to for a meal. Massive seating area and very relaxed. Good choice of other foods and beverages. Very orderly queue system.

Asked for a bit of extra gravy and got this beauty with a mountain of mashed potatoes to go with it 👍 absolutely love the service will be back for a shameless amount of gravy

The big queues at the restaurant are the worst part of a nice experience. Plus if you only want a coffee and a cake you still have to queue. Why did they do away with the sandwiches, I loved them.

Food was cold never eat there agsin

Always like going here, good food reasonably priced. Decent size portions, which you don't always get in these type of establishments. You may have to queue up a bit, but see that as a positive. I'm more weary of restaurants with plenty of grub but nobody there. So don't let this put you off, you will get served quite quickly. Very child friendly as you would expect in a 🇸🇪 restaurant.

Food is cheap and pretty good. But they don't heat the plates and it's always cold by the time you sit down.

Was over charged at cafe but was refunded with no problem. Very helpful staff

The ikea experience is always an absolute pleasure we shop in the braehead branch very frequent until Saturday the 30th March around 11.00am my wife and i went shopping to ikea once again but this time we went in the morning and decided to go for breakfast in the store before we started shopping everything went well the foid looked amazing unfortunatly we arrived at the pay desk to be met by some grumpy sarcastic and not really wanting to help employee i was totally disgusted by him and his ignorance , im glad im not agressive because i would have shown him how much he ground me down , personally i think anyone who wants to work with the puplic should show the manners theyd show there family im that disgusted with him i hope a management member of ikea sees this complaint and deals with him .

Excellent value restaurant, especially compared to some. Had some difficulty finding a clean table at the window seats, other than that all good.

I'm sure the restaurant shouldn't be the highlight of the trip, but here we are! If only I'd had room for dessert 😭

Run of the mill canteen feel about it. Service is slow with long queues to get the food at peak times and once you've got it a long wait to pay. By the time you've paid, got cutlery, sauce, napkins and waited for your cup of tea your meal isn't hot anymore. Sort out all of the above and the place might score better.

Staff never have a happy face..its rush, rush, rush. Everytime I buy hot food and get to the table the food is cold. Last 2 times I have been had to clean the table. It was really messy. I'd say core values and standards have slipped. My partner likes the meatballs it's the only reason I go.

Foods reasonably priced and tasted good, not an eataire, so wasn't looking for vibes while eating, but, staff very pleasant, the actual retail staff are lovely, couldn't have asked for better,

Never fails to please... meatballs, mash, peas and gravy? What's not to love? Unlimited refills of your drinks glass too? A perfect way to chill after shopping.

Great value for decent healthy fast food with pleasant ambience.

They didn't have any veg for the meal was just given potatos instead of being offered some alternative veg. Other wise really good value and reasonably tasty

It’s a very school canteen feel.Pick up a tray,wait in a line,get your food and then queue again to pay. There are always some rude people in the queue barging through so this set up doesn’t suit me. The cashiers I have dealt with were very pleasant. The choices of food are standard basics nothing fancy and there are some vegetarian options. Prices for the small cake slices are expensive,you could buy a whole cake for the price of the almond tart for example from the entrance food section of the main store. I got mashed potato which had a pea and a chip from careless scooping of other peoples orders-thankfully I don’t have a pea allergy lol. Tasted ok but was lumpy. My friend had butternut squash soup they said it was lovely. Drinks come with a free refill if you are a Ikea family member which is free to sign up for. The setting to eat in have basic cafe style table and chairs but there is a nice section with couches and ikea decorations giving it a more home feel. Worth checking out if you are in the store but I wouldn’t go just for the food from my visits

OK …. It’s a big barn of a place, however, the food is delicious, and it’s easy enough to find a seat …. The service could be a bit better, but there’s very little you can do about the eating area … it’s massive. We try to sit next to the window. But the Swedish Meatballs are fab U lous darlings 😁😁😁

I feel like people have raved to me about the meatballs for so long that I really expected they couldn't measure up BUT they're lovely! And there were plant based and veggie options too! If you're eating there with kids IKEA seems like an ideal place for practicing eating out manners. The beverages were tasty. My only gripe is that they give so much food and I was full so quickly but they don't have take away containers.

Typical IKEA restaurant. In my opinion, the best are probably the Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and peas. The view over the car park at the hills can be pretty.

Why open at 10 and stop breakfast at 11. Instead ordered the chicken curry. Terrible not tasty at all and served practically cold. Wouldn't feed it to my worst enemy.

Used to eat here alot but recently the food has went downhill I understand food pricing and stuff must be taking its toll on everyone including places providing food but just felt its not worth it anymore.

Dissapointed as at till to pay gor food only one person on duty and very busy, so by time paid and found a seat, some food was cold and no longer have micro wave availible to reheat.

Good value, it's not somewhere you would take Ur family out for a treat but when visiting the store you always find some good options at great prices

They are obviously working on the store at present as there was lots of scaffolding g and taped up signs. Albeit I know renovations have to go on, the overwhelming smell of adhesive was unbelievable. I had to cut my visit short and will have to return to finish what I went for as I was left with the most horrendous headache.

Pretty mediocre good, large cafeteria style dining area. Only 1 person serving, queues built up, quite a long wait. Area for returned trays was overflowing and floor was pretty messy.

Love IKEA so much furniture is great and for a furniture shop the food is amazing.

The food was ok it's not fine dining but good for the cost.

Food tasty and sweedish, meatballs now have a plant ball option which I may taste one dat out of curiosity, coffee and cinnamon buns good as usual and very good value for money

IKEA is great place to spend a few hours for house shopping and the food is good to,I love the salmon I had the meatballs in the past are okay.

Roll and sausage with coffee for Sunday breakfast. The food was fresh, and the service was quick and efficient.

It's ok, the food is plain but tasty, the staff attentive, but the place needs a really good clean.

Quick, slick ordering system. Swedish meatballs and sauce were delish. Whatever wizardly magic is used to create that sauce. I need more of that in my life 🪄

Breakfast was lovely and the have trolleys for your trays so you don't have to carry your trays very spacious
