ICB Centre in Wolverhampton

I know this is only the second review of the ICB, but my wife and I and friends, attended a close friends wedding reception here last night. We had a great time, a well stocked bar, good service and food. The toilets were spotless, and with security on the door all felt safe and secure.

Lots of steep steps, no disabled access, no bannisters or hand rails on 4 very steep steps in bathroom. Ladies helping other ladies down them. Bathroom dirty and tired. Lazy sally on centre of tables dirty, not just our table. There was food and crumbs from a previous event under it. Serving staff untrained, unorganised. Plates passed round table person to person, along with cutlery for all to handle. Forks passed out with hands holding onto prongs. Waiter admitted it never crossed his mind not to handle the eating area ( no gloves) Food served hit and miss without any organisation. Some tables got lots and some didn't. We had one small bowl of salad for 8 people. I slice of cucumber, 2 slices of toms, I cube of feta cheese and lettuce to share with 8 people. Deserts were served from a tray to those at the table at the time ( that was just me) whilst others were dancing. There was nothing for those returning 5 minutes later so clearly they did not have enough to go around, Place was passed it best and needed some TLC to bring it up to standard. Bar staff and area clean, pleasant and efficient. Food was good and tasty. it was the disorder of serving that let it down, We kept requesting the missing parts and we had no idea who our server was anyway. Tables were numbered whilst we were there but this did not accomplish anything Outside was tatty and unkempt. Again needed some TLC. Well done chefs for the food but it let itself down by poor health and safety, lack of hygiene, lack of thought on presentation and appearance. Wouldn't take much to bring it up to standard but otherwise it remains a second class banqueting hall due to these issues. Management needs to walk through the venue and check each area and get the issues sorted. This would bring in more bookings and improve their reputation. I wouldn't return or recommend to anyone.
