Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant & Takeaway in Corby

Ordered food for the first time and what a disappointment my 2 year old daughter tried the seaweed for the first time and she spat out a Peace of sharp plastic that came from the food spoke to the owner and receptionist both said they didn’t care and that’s what insurance is for.. I will be getting in touch with the right people to make formal complaints

Just to clarify this isn’t a restaurant it’s a takeaway and it used to be really nice but we got a takeaway on Wednesday and it was terrible, everything was as if it had been overcooked in old dirty oil, I think the delivery guy cooked it

poor service told hour then and hour n half rang up to be told will be soon definitely forgot order even coming here for years and won't be coming back foods going down hill

This is no longer a restaurant, just a takeaway. Our regular takeaway shut down so we have been using this one for some time now. The food is always cooked quickly and served hot. Service is always very good. Its open 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays) and opens earlier than other takwaways at 4.30pm which is very useful. Its not always easy to park but there is a paid carpark nearly if its a problem. Negatives- sometimes there is not enough sauce, particularly sweet and sour hong kong style. But overall pretty good

It’s been many a year since I visited this establishment. I remember frequenting the sit down restaurant years ago on a regular basis. Sadly just takeaways here now! Formerly the Crows Nest in the 60’s and 70’s and other names I cannot remember! Anyway back to the food. Ordered crispy aromatic duck with pancake rolls and prawn crackers. Not a lot, but it was late and didn’t want too much anyway. All items perfectly cooked and really tasty. Will certainly visit and order again soon.

After a long travel home thought I would have a meal for one person, so go in and order for set menu £7 good price then told £ 7:50 for service ffs really!!! I went to them. I would expect this extra or more under a certain amount on an order at a home delivery below a certain amount but not when I have picked up in the resturant, and this isn't advertised on their in house menu. Very poor.

Have used this place for years and the food is usually good, however the latest takeaway we had was awful. Chicken in the curry the chicken balls and the munch box was so tough you almost needed a saw to cut it, and it didn’t taste too good either, most of the curry went in the bin. The ribs in the munch box were similarly tough and the chicken wings were over cooked. Won’t be going here again, no point complaining because the arrogant staff don’t give a f**k

Grab this munch box, comes in a pizza box lol Has a complete mix of food, chips, chicken, spring rolls, ribs etc with a salt/chilli flavour. There is enough to feed 3. Good value for money, parking an issue as on main road.

Been a couple of times now, min £10 on card which I think is high. Food is good and hot though. Convenient for taxi rank if you need a ride home. Always get served quickly to.

this is our main takeaway, we've considered eating from other takeaways, but we have a 'if it aint broken dont fix it' attitude, we enjoy the food and prices are decent

Having had an excellent meal in the restaurant recently we decided to try their takeaway facility. We were not disappointed. Although some 25 minutes away by road the food arrived hot and proved delicious. The menu is the same as in the restaurant however the prices a bit lless.

We ordered from here this evening and it was disappointing to say the least. The chicken curry was inedible, the chow main tasted dirty, the ribs had hardly any meat on them and the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style was chewy. This place used to be somewhere you knew you would get good food but now it's safe to say that tonight was the last ever time we will be ordering from here. Corby has many lovely Chinese restaurants so we will be using those in future and I advise anyone else to do the same.

Use to be the best Chinese in town, had a takeaway Friday night is was horrible. Curry was tasteless no spice to it what so ever, sweet n sour chicken was hard and looked like it was a reheat. We threw away the food it was so bad.

avoid if possible it use to be the best but gone down hill. spare ribs bone dry as if they had been cooked weeks ago. chips cold, service at the counter always good but the food is not.

Placed a reasonably large order for delivery after a hard day of dealing with family illness. Was told 40-45 mins. Rang again after an hour and was told it was on its way. Rang again after an hour and a quarter to be told the soonest they could get it to us was another quarter of an hour. Cancelled the order. Won't use them again. It would only take about 10 mins to walk there and yet it will take a quarter of an hour to delivery a horribly late order! I think not!

Lots of other eateries around here so not surprised to see it was quiet in here. Visited a few years ago and it was always busy. Bought takeaway for the kids, one loved it the other felt sick after it.

Es molesto a escribir esto porque crecí en Corby y todo a través de los años 80 y 90 los dos lugares, la gente que viaje por millas para comer en nuestro pueblo fue la velas Corby y esta chino. La comida ha ido disminuyendo lentamente desde el fallecimiento del propietario, a un punto ahora sólo es sosa. Nos dieron una comida para dos y estaba casi inaceptable. Las bolas de pollo eran harinosos Elementos y sólo una porción de arroz entre nosotros y no hay galletas saladas de gambas. 25 libras risa. He comprendido hace años que cobran un par de libras extra porque, 1, su comida era mejor que cualquier otra cosa y 2, teníamos un restaurante y queríamos clientes allí. Ni aplicar lo que hace que sus precios demasiado caro para lo que te dan. Yo podría mejor nombre 4 o 5 establecimientos en Corby solo. Muy decepcionados.

Meal for one is large tasty with 2 options and fantastic value for money, enough for two full plates of food. Local delivery but in town centre so easy to get to from all directions. Staff are friendly and helpful too.

It's been a long time since I visited this Chinese for either a take away or a sit down meal. It always used to have a great reputation and was considered by many to be one of the best, if not the best, takeaway in the town.How things change. I popped in here on a midweek evening recently and ordered a couple of fairly standard dishes (dishes which we have regularly from other takeaways) and I noticed a large sign on the restaurant door stating that they would be closing it from Sept 16th due to "business requirements". It's not clear whether that means it's closing permanently or for some kind of renovation or redecoration so it's perhaps worth checking if you are planning a sit down meal.As for the food? Well, disappointing, tastless and unfinished is the only way to describe the two main meals we ordered. Given the reputation this place once had, the quality of the food was surprisingly low. My meal looked and tasted like nothing I have ordered in other places and it almost resembled chicken nuggets, fried in chilli.We won't be going back to this place.
