It’s always good to find a Chinese restaurant that is managed by Chinese I say this because, I don’t hold anything against Malaysian owned chinese restaurants, it’s just that they adapt very well to the western palate and expectations Whereas China based owners tend not to care too much about that and thus the food is more traditionally authentic Apparently the decor of the place has come across a bit of an upgraded uplift, which is a good thing Staff are as expected, efficient and to the point - no need to be friendly, but they were affable It’s cash only - another sign of an authentic chinese restaurant 🤭 Food wise, the menu is extensive and what we wanted to see None of the crispy chilli beef or sweet and sour pork balls Seafood rice was 👌🏼 Spinach with century egg was 👌🏼 Diced chicken with Szechuan chillis was 👌🏼 Double cooked pork belly and beef stew with rice dishes were simply meh However, unless there is another authentic chinese restaurant in Leeds that can match that menu and up their game - I would come back

I have previously given home 5* reviews. However, today our salt and pepper bean curd was soggy and our chicken dish was ALL dried chillis (no chicken). Really disappointed but too late to call and complain!

Best Chinese restaurant we’ve ever been to, made my mum go out and buy a Szechuan cookbook after never having particularly enjoyed Chinese food before. Order off the home-style menu - hot poached fish, soy braised pork, mapo tofu, twice cooked pork, pork chops in fruity sauce, pickled green beans with minced pork, aubergine with minced pork in garlicky sauce are all fantastic choices. We started cooking Szechuan during lockdown because we couldn’t eat here any more. Our Chinese friends regularly drive over from York to collect takeaway to eat at home.

Tried this restaurant for lunch! I ordered seafood and tofu soup. Very good. Was piping hot and I had to wait for it to cool a bit. Then came the prawn dimsum. Again very good. I ordered a chicken stir-fry dish for my main. Was a bit too spicey for me. The waitress was helpful even though her English was not great. Its quite a small restaurant and we were sat very close to other diners so potential covid risk. Also car park was full so we had to park on road and limited to 1 hour. Overall its pretty good and very authentic and unusual menu. Will go back but order less so can eat within the hour!

I go here all the time, it actually has good traditional Chinese food, my Chinese friends go here a lot as well. Note that you can only pay in cash but it has a ATM close by (Tesco).

Ever since the lock down in Britain, they were ever so grateful because regular patrons such as us always supported them even during the pandemic, but since restrictions have been lifted, they have become an absolutely worse nightmare. First of all, they jacked up their pricing and a meal that would normally cost about 30 pounds is suddenly now almost 45, so 50% rise in less than three months is just criminal. Then, they don't accept credit cards, probably stealing from the government, because they clearly charge 10p for a plastic bag and 2.50 pounds for delivery, so they can very well afford to pay the 2% credit card fees... Who knows. But the worst part is that they have started taking orders with zero intentions of honoring them on time. I've been a regular patron for over 3 years now, visiting them every other week at least... Since the last 5-6 orders, however, they have become an absolutely nightmare of a place.... They have routinely sent shrimp noodles for my vegan order, numerous times and then they try and make it up by sending me free shrimp crackers... They took my order at 5:31 pm and promised to deliver it in 45 minutes as they were too busy.. When I called them at 6:09 to ask, they said I have to come pick it up as they are too busy.. What the H??? Then, after back and forth with the lady who picked up the phone, she hung up in trying to locate the manager. Upon calling the 2nd time the manager says the delivery driver has already left, and the lady doesn't speak English. Then why do you ask her to pick up the phone????? When nothing showed up until 6:50, which is now, almost 1:20 minutes since I ordered, I called at least 10 times, but they just refused to pick up the phone. Finally, at 7:25 pm, 1 hour and 55 minutes later, I decided to order from another place and as I was placing my order, a panda delivery guy shows up at 7:29 at my place, saying he just got the order 10 minutes ago, and you could tell because the food was hot enough to tell it has not been traveling for over an hour. They lie to you and then they refuse to pick up the phone and send food 2 hours later.. Worst of the worse nightmares in Leeds now, there are better places by the dozen in Leeds, to screw you Home...

We have visited Home and the service and food were fantastic. BUT I will avoid ordering takeaway again as after waiting over an hour, we received the wrong order. After explaining over the phone and being kindly offering to replace the food with the correct dish, they asked for the original order back and we believed the issue was sorted. I woke this morning to find the original order had been consequently thrown outside our front door. Not impressed.

Whenever me and my partner feel like some Chinese food we go to Home or just order some takeaway. When we first went to Home we were so surprised that we now take friends there, order take away and it is our top-of-mind Chinese restaurant in Leeds. It speaks volumes that whenever we go to Home most of the other guests are usually of Chinese origin! The food is delicious, the service pretty fast and very economic. It is THE place if you feel like eating typical food.

Lived in Singapore for many years and this is one of the few authentic Chinese restaurants in Leeds. Food was excellent and service great. The portions are generous and the choice of food is v good. I recommend the cold chicken, aubergines and beans and the seabass in chilli!

We went to the restaurant and got quite good customer service. The staffs are alright. However, the foods are overpriced and the quality of foods are not as good as the pictures. I have ordered cantonese beef steak rice, my friend ordered chicken with chinese mushroom dishes. The chicken that they used are chipped chicken wings, the portions are really small and those chicken wings are raw, we can see the blood inside. My friend ended up having stomache and not feeling well. Service are alright, but the quality and portion of foods are really poor. The foods were overpriced for these quality of foods.

Despite a rather unusual location and confusion over delivery during Lockdown, this is the very best of Chinese restaurants. A great mix of western taste popular Chinese food and also real Chinese authenticity. The food quality is one of the best in Leeds. Along with Wen's in North Street, Home leads the way. My Hot and Sour Soup was properly hot and sour and crammed with perfectly cooked, crunchy vegetables and glass noodles. Very, very good. The western influenced King Prawn in Black Bean Sauce had a rich, rounded flavour, perfect texture and was the best my wife had tasted and she's an expert in the dish. My Spicy Pork was more traditionally Chinese and was spicy without being hot, but was certainly rich, warm and very tasty. Home is a top of the range takeaway and we're both looking forward to eating inside it when conditions allow.

My wife came across this place. We got the last available table when we rang and booked, and it was packed. With social distancing, of course. Mainly students, Chinese and other nationalities. It was excellent. Good service from friendly staff. Interesting and authentic dishes - my more adventurous son went for intestines with pickled green beans, which he loved - while my wife and I went for slightly more recognisable fare (for us anyway). Big portions, so much so that we took what was left as take-outs. Dishes on other tables looked elaborate and tasty. Licensed. And the bill didn't break the bank.

I visited on a recent trip to Leeds with my Chinese friends and it did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and attentive and our food came out very quickly. The food tasted very fresh and it is probably one of the best Chinese restaurants I have visited! We were even happier when we found out they were doing the eat out to help out scheme!

Excellent pork belly and Char Sui pork. Meat was tender and well seasoned, served on a bed of rice and topped with Chinese cabbage. Portions are very generous. Long queue is definitely a sign that this is a very popular venue in the market.
