Last nights meal was poor. Sweet and sour chicken had no taste and chicken was rubbery. The so called salt and pepper ribs were barbecued spare ribs with salt and pepper on top on them and they were terrible. Overall very disappointing .

Ordered chicken curry, egg fried rice and chips. Curry had bones in, rice was cold and chips where undercooked and oily.

Just called for a takeaway ordered half a crispy duck and extra pancakes , I understand it was busy but drove back 20 mins to where we are staying to find out there's no sauce or salad in the bag so totally spoiled it for me . Won't be going there again. £30.00 Wasted.

Quick, friendly service, the food was so delicious and fresh, best veggie spring rolls I've ever had! All that we ordered was great, I will definitely order from Ho Wah again and can highly recommend 👌

Special fried rice comes with just a bit of a delicious sauce not to much not to little lovely for the price

Bought from here tonight, I had crispy chicken in bbq sauce and it was pure salt, it burnt my tongue there was so much salt in the sauce so it went in the bin, my friend got crispy beef in OK sauce and the sauce was so sour and strong that she couldn't eat it and the beef was soggy not crispy, I only ordered from here because elegant was closed...I'll wait next time as that was disgusting! £20 wasted and now cooking something at home.

The chips were literally dripping in fat, my wife and I didn’t even dish them out.The chicken curry was bland, for the first time in my life I had to put salt on a chinesetakeaway.The beef and tomato didn’t taste like anything I have ever eaten before and that’s not a good thing! To top it all off it was £9 more expensive than our regular Chinese/Cantonese.I even wrote “worst mistake of my life” on the menu before putting it in the bin!!All the good reviews on here are clearly from people who live in cemaes bay or llanerchymedd so good people save your hard earned cash or shop elsewhere!

Dissapointed after reading all the good reviews. Nice friendly service but food was poor. Ordered crispy beef in chilli sauce .. nothing crispy about it.. just a plate of mush that tasted strongly of salt and lots of pepper. Inedible ! Chips looked recooked and were limp and dark brown. Ingredients in the special curry were'nt so special.. lots of onion and the prawns were soggy. Also doesn't take card payment. Won't be returning

Brilliant food-we had chicken with schezan sauce and fried rice-daughter had sweet and sour chicken which again was very good. The prawn crackers were great and the spring rolls were the best I have tasted. We will be back!

Constantly delicious. Have tried others in the vicinity but this one never fails to please . Delicious Cantonese spring rolls, spare ribs with syrup just gorgeous and a fabulous Special Chow Mein. Have tried other dishes too and the sweet and sour chicken is amazing

Thought we would try this cheses because of good reviews but but we all was disappointed full glutamate very salty most of it in the bin not forgetting the undercooked chips they did go in bin not going again .

Called here last week for a takeaway. It was absolutely delicious. Ordered three main meals and they were all so incredibly tasty. Couldn’t fault it. Very reasonable too. Excellent.

Great Chinese, nicest in the area worth the short trip across the straight. We ordered Shredded beef in sechzwan sauce, king prawn egg foo Yung, Kung po chicken, salt and pepper prawns. Rice chips curry sauce, seaweed, spring rolls, and crispy wonton. All great, good value roughly £35.

Myself and my husband are very fussy when it comes to take aways but this one is delicious everythings fresh and cooked well. Only bad thing is it shuts once a week which we have just found out. Would highly recommend

Had the meal for three which cost 36quid. Meals were bland and dry. No taste. Expensive compared to other Chineses in the area. Also a meal light in comparison to others in the area who give 4 instead of three... Spring rolls were hard and burnt. I wont be returning.

We have used this takeaway in Menai Bridge very often despite our living in Bangor, and we have never received a bad meal there. The food is tasty, and more than enough of it... one meal is enough for two really. There is a good choice. It is not the cheapest, but the quality is better than most, so we prefer to travel a bit further to visit Ho Wah. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Their gravy sauce is really tasty.

Great takeaway in Menai Bridge which is open on a Monday evening unlike many others around here. We ordered two of the dishes, rice and they threw in some prawn crackers. We shared the rice and there was more than enough for the two of us. The two main dishes were very tasty - again we shared and there was enough for two hungry people. The server was friendly and helpful and the food was cooked quickly. We would definitely return if we are in the area again.

This is without doubt the best chinese food in the gwynedd are . We have tried nearly every one we can think of , no other comes close .

We used to go here every week without fail for years but the prices now have gone ridiculous. The chicken balls we usually had are not what they were and the quality of them has gone downhill. It was £27 for our last order which wasn’t a substantial order at all. Such a shame but we get the same things for less than £20 elsewhere now.

Ordered some chicken balls from here tonight and the chicken was pink on the inside, so I thought I might phone just to let them know, not wanting a refund or anything but expecting an apology. The manager answered where she was extremely rude and refused to apologise, therefore I said that I will take this incident further and I will be putting my thoughts on social media, where I was threatened that this woman “find out where I live” if i put it on social media!! I was absolutely disgusted and so was my family therefore my father handled the call where he explained that all she needed to do was apologies for the way she spoke to me and that the whole thing could be forgotten about and she refused then and hung up. I wouldn’t recommend this Chinese to anyone not even animals should eat here!!! Disgusting manner!!

What a brilliant meal we received this evening. Everyone ordered something different and we were all really pleased with our meals. The meals were fresh and tasty. The chicken and sweetcorn soup was thick with big chunks of chicken in it and plenty of sweetcorn. I would definitely recommend this takeaway. We aren't local but I will remember Ho Wah for future visits. Thank you all.

With not many Chinese sit in in my area this take away is the best option the service is fast and friendly and the food is always on sopt with portions big enuff to share if you fancy

This is my local chinese take-out shop which never disappoints - Mr and I generally tend to order the same meals, but they are always consistent and always very good. The only thing I would mention which could be improved is a chance at seeing the lady owner smile once in a while - it costs nothing.

Return visit and didn't disappoint. Superb hot and sour soup followed by tasty starters and superb main meals. Had enough for next day and still tasted brilliant.Well worth a visit. Cash only and parking a bit tricky - but you won't be disappointed with the food.

Really good food, very tasty (even my fussy friends said so) but, got our order wrong, we phoned to inform them and they weren't very polite and didn't want to deliver the correct order to us, after a long phone call they finally decided to deliver the correct order but was delivered over a hour later and everyone else had finished they're food!

We called in this Chinese takeaway on our way back from a boat trip. A good choice on the menu,quick service, portions were gigantic and we couldn't eat it all. Free prawn crackers

This was recommended to us and I am glad it was. Superb food, not the usual greasy take-away. Soup delicious, ribs fantastic and main courses were excellent. And enough to carry over for another meal. They don't take credit cards and parking is a bit tricky - but worth it - you wont be disappointed.

Lovely food as always, very quick and large portions. One problem the lady behind the counter!!!!!! Big attitude very rude and abrupt, slagging customers once they have orfered on the phone, doing this in front of full shop of customers. Sort her out or you wont have any business left which would be a shame

We decided to try a new chinese instead of our usual. The service was very fast, popped into order and within 15mins it was ready with free prawn crackers. The food was tasty and generous portion sizes, but the chicken balls and spring rolls were a tad greasy, with a pool of grease in the bags. I would return but do prefer our usual takeaway.

Cannot fault this place, I've never had a bad meal from here. The place is clean, the food is amazingly tasty and the service is friendly. As far as takeaway Chinese food goes in this area, this place is definitely the best!

I regularly go to ho Wah & I love their food. The food is always nice never had a bad meal! The woman behind the counter is always so welcoming & her son too. Would definitely recommend

The service was outstanding. It was my husband s birthday and we had to cancel the restaurant as he was ill. Ordered a takeaway banquet to be picked up by penniless son and was told I could pay next time I was passing. Never asked for proof of ID! Incidentally the banquet was delicious and worth every penny.

This is now the chinese takeaway for us - great value for money, tasty food, good portions and good service. With a 5* hygiene rating to back them it's no wonder they're always busy! Would definitely recommend.

I have recently been introduced to Ho Wah, and I must say it it REALLY good value for money and really tasty. I'm really critical of food, and don't often go to takeouts. However, I ordered some spring rolls, and special fried rice. It was gorgeous! Really generous helping, excellent service. The Spring roll was fantastic! I got two, and it was crispy, and really filled. I phoned in my order, and they said 10 minutes. I was really amazed to see it was only 7 minutes! Everyone I know has applauded there speed. I certainly will be back there to order takeout again!

this used to be a great Chinese since a few month ago it has gone down hill , i used to go regular very regular , there sweet nd sour chicken is full of batter and fat , no chicken , elegant Chinese round the corner is much better more chicken and quality, ho wha might got 5 stars , but they might put more attention to cleanliness than there food , sort it out !

Love the dinner time specials for £2. The food is always piping hot, and the owner is always very polite.

My family and I always come to ho wah,atleast every fortnight and we never have anything to complain about. The staff are lovely, always remembering our order, giving free prawn crackers, and generally being wonderful! Not to mention the food is always great. :)

Visited this take-away over New Year - service was friendly and food was ready in the promised '8 minutes' (I'd offered to order then come back later to collect) - everything was hot, generous portions, lots of veg in the meals and dishes including rice or chips were circa a fiver so good value. Only criticism was that the food was over seasoned for my taste but not enough to prevent a return visit if in the area.

Good authentic cuisine, swift service and cheery staff. Meals are always enough, never leaving you to want more.What more can I say.

Visited in evening for takeaway supper after reading reviews by others. We had a 1/4 duck with pancakes, barbecue ribs and chicken fried rice. All was hot and freshly prepared and ready for collection after phoning ahead - staff very pleasant. The portion of duck was generous (or came from a very large bird!). Point of information - payment was in cash as they don't take cards. Happy to go there again.

Staying in Bangor Travelodge, with only Burger King and Little Chef on offer, we looked for a Chinese takeaway. Well the food was fantastic and the lady at the desk was polite, lovely and chatty. Couldn't ask for anything more. We'll be back next time we're in the neighborhood.

Although this place is a little tucked away in menai bridge it should be a first port of call for a takeaway. Pleasant lady taking the orders, and not long to wait at all. The food was better than the Chinese restaurant on the main road.

We wanted a decent Chinese Takeaway after being disappointed with meals previously on the Island. When we arrived at Ho Wah we were greeted by the very bubbly and friendly owner. We knew we had made a good choice when several locals arrived to collect their orders.Our meal was the best Chinese Takeaway we've ever had, comparable to that of Chinese Restaurant quality. Recommended!

Decided on a takeaway for the night in our lodge whilst away for the Xmas break, being new to the area we decided to drive into town to see what was available. We found this takeaway by chance and nearly opted for the other just round the corner, however we chose this one and so glad we did, food was superb and the lady serving us could not have been more helpful, well done and thank you for a lovely meal

This is the best of its class in the area - by far. The owners really care about quality - I know them well now after coming here for several years. They will feed you as they would themselves - with generous, perfectly cooked, delicious, quality cuisine. They will accommodate special orders, so don't be afraid to ask.You will not be disappointed and will want to come back again to this first-class takeaway.

I have been a faithful regular to this haunt in Menai bridge. Hos never fail to please. Really tasty food that is always plentiful. I'd recommend the garlic chicken! Doesn't taste too "adapted for the British" What a shame it is not brimming with customers!.. I am very surprised!

We were attracted to try Ho Wah as it has a 5 star hygiene rating, unlike the 3 of the local Chinese restaurant and 3 of the other Chinese take away. We have been having take aways from the restaurant and have been disappointed. We had a Singapore style chow mein and chicken in hot garlic sauce with spring rolls to start. Very very good and very tasty, will definitely become regulars, could not fault a thing

I go here regularly and the stabdard of food is fantastic! They have never let me down and also good service and fast to deliver the food. I would recommend HO wah because the food is fairy priced and also to a high standard
