Henrison Inn in Blaenau Gwent

Well this maybe our 1st visit, on a childfree morning however it certainly won't be our last. Couldn't be more excited to have such a gorgeous venue in our local area! There isn't any other venue that scratches the surface on food, customer service and atmosphere. We are so excited to come back, thank you to the team and owner for transforming the previous venue. Its good to have something that would easily fit well in Cardiff.

What a lovely surprise. Visited the recently opened Vamos by the river in the old Henrison's pub. Was surprised by how busy it was for a Wednesday lunch time but having spent 5 mins in this really friendly, light and airy venue it became apparent why. Food and desserts delicious, with excellent selection of both. Staff uber friendly and adds to the atmosphere of a really all round excellent place. Definitely worth a visit and revisit! Didn't add pic of my fish finger sandwich as I gobbled it up too quickly but did grab a snap of the divine strawberry cheesecake 🍰🍰🍰

Where do I start! Best restaurant Abertillery has seen in a goones age! Clean, tidy and very presentable. Staff very polite, clean, fiendly and well versed in covid routines. Was full when we went in, however table was clean and ready, due to the online booking for covid. Food was piping hot and served up, on a platter service to help yourself, to your needs and desires. A great local service to be enjoyed.

Visited The Henrison Inn for a Sunday lunch with my family. It had mixed reviews but the food was delicious!!! There was plenty to go around, and the friendly staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The decor is really clean and modern, and my daughter loved the roll top bath filled with balls. We will definitely visit again! Top marks for a great Sunday lunch.

Never again!! Went here for my nephews birthday meal there was 23 of us and 16 of them meals went back! The food wasn't cooked properly! The chef was very patronising! The drinks on tap that was displayed wasn't working!! Staff was very rude!! Very disappointed ar it was a 16th birthday meal and a fa.ily get together!!

Excellent Sunday lunch, high quality, very tasty and plentiful! Brilliant staff, couldn’t fault any part of our lunch. Thank you!

Fabulous food Had amazing experience beautiful food served very quickly starters and steaks were cooked perfectly. We ordered a lot of extras which we didn't really need but lovely flavours. Chloe and all the staff very attentive and served us some lovely cocktails. Very lucky that we live local and we have booked for Christmas eve for my daughters 21st and can't wait.

Cannot RECOMEND this place HIGHLY enough, From the time we entered to the time we left, we were made to feel WELCOME by all the staff. Food was amazing from starters through to deserts. The main meal was beautifully cooked, and plenty of it, mostly beef and chicken both were tender, so much variety of veg I must say there were fourteen family members traveling from Swansea- Newport- Magor - Cwmbran. Abertillery All said it was one of the best places they had been to. So a BIG THANK YOU to all the staff for the service you gave, and a Big Thank-you to the chef.

Had a lovely meal ,mixed grill was huge ,profritaroles for desert and cocktails ,staff lovely nothing to much trouble,even attempted an Irish coffee for me ,which they don't usually do, really enjoyed it , Thank you

Amazing food and excellent service. Had 60th Birthday celebrations here and staff could not do enough. The food was so delicious and there was so much. I would highly recommend Henrison to anyone. All friends and family said how amazing the food, staff and venue are. Will definitely return and when there's any further celebrations, Henrison will be my first selection. A huge thank you to Luke and all the staff.

Went here for a Friday night treat before lock down came,felt very safe,staff were polite attentive and very upbeat,we were shown to our table and given menus for food and drink just ordered simple burgers,sounds daft to say about burgers but they were fantastic,well presented, loads of hand made onion rings, lovely fries and nice buns(😁),waitress came several times to ask if we needed anything,all said it was a great meal, we finished with cocktails, very tasty and great looking, will be back soon, thanks to all who made sure we enjoyed our meal

I attended a wedding here (as a photographer) yesterday and I really have to say that I could not find a single fault with this amazing place. Firstly, they are up to par on all covid regulations, including taking temps, details, scan code and all staff are wearing PPE. There were sanitizing stations everywhere and detailed markings on the wonderfully creative floor! I also had the esteemed pleasure of meeting the owner and the chef who were some of the sweetest people! I was told about the history of the pub, and saw how much work had gone into it considering it was a burned out shell previously, I really love the modern chic finish and its so lovely to see a natural flooring and high end decor, not something you would usually see in the heart of the valleys. I have attended over a thousand weddings, at big venue and small venues but i have never had such a warm welcome that I had at the Henrison. The food was amazing! massive portions, - the bread alone was the size of a side plate and you certainly would not go away hungry. i highly highly recommend this place, please book and visit for yourself!

I must say it is a lovely set up, with very nice interior. Was taken to our table and waited 20 minutes for a drink. Our food (Sunday dinner) was very bland, vegetables were very hard and undercooked, and the gravy looked and tasted like bisto. The waiting time was ridiculous. The waitress’s were working very hard, but definitely need more staff. The table behind us had to ask twice for the bill. Personally will not be returning, with local lockdown there’s not much choice of places to go but this would definitely be last on the list.

Today I had to wait for my car to be repaired so popped my head around the door to see if they were open. They were just setting up and invited me in. Track and trace information taken, the place is spotless and the staff were working hard to keep it that way. I was made very welcome and I felt very safe and comfortable. I left feeling relaxed and just a little bit easier about being out. This is what customer service is all about. The little things that make a big difference.

Never fail to impress well done. One of the cleanest and hospitable pub/restaurant I’ve been too. Food always hot and tasty. Best lasagne ever.
