Went for breakfast here on 25th February after staying close by in Betws y coed, got to say one of the tastiest breakfast we have had and at a very reasonable price too, staff very warm and welcoming and food delicious would highly recommend for breakfast. If i was every staying close by this would be my go to place for breakfast

I've visited Hen Aelwyd a few times because it is local to me but also a great place to meet friends, the coffee is good and all the meals I've had here either from the menu, or the specials board, were delicious and made with care.

We've passed this cafe so many times, I don't know what has taken us so long. We had Welsh rarebit today, one with bacon and one with mushrooms and it was perfect comfort food for an icy cold day. The chips were also probably the best we've had in years, crispy outside with fluffy insides, like chips used to be! The waitress was also very patient with us practicing our Welsh and was helpful and clear with her replies. I will be recommending Hen Aelwyd Cafe ;-) The perfect morning. An hour in Flutterby Fabrics, then lunch at Hen Aelwyd Cafe. A new tradition!

I had some time to spend whilst car at garage. With the library closed, I found a warm welcome at Yr Hen Aelwyd, on the recommendation of a friend. The staff were lovely and the breakfast and coffee wonderful. It is a lovely environment, clean and well maintained. I think I'll be returning regularly! I enjoyed an Oat milk cappuccino and veggie breakfast, as shown. Yum.

Had a very lovely cooked breakfast. Simple things done correctly; quality ingredients well cooked - friendly service at a good price. Excellent coffee.

This was my first visit to Hen Aelwyd, but I certainly hope to return. Having read the very favourable reviews on Tripadvisor, I was looking forward to the visit and can say that I was not disappointed. The welcome afforded by the owner and staff was most courteous, warm and friendly and the quality of the cooked breakfast and the Cappuccino coffee was excellent. They obviously purchase good quality ingredients. The ground floor tables were occupied so I was invited to go into the first floor dining room which is full of character with an old worldly look. Having read on one Tripadvisor review that the cafe sign is visible from the Llanrwst Cooperative shop, I assumed this was the way in to the cafe. Please note that this is not the entrance and there is a sign on the door stating “No entrance, please use other door”. As there was no other door, I knocked and the chef kindly came to my aid explaining that the other door is at the front of the cafe on 17 Denbigh Street, but allowed me to go in nevertheless. It appears the sign is purely for advertising purposes. The front door access is opposite the Red Lion Hotel on Denbigh Street LL26 0LL. Definitely worth a visit and I recommend.

Visited for the first time last week after a recommendation from my friend Jenny who visits regularly. What a great recommendation! I had the full breakfast which was absolutely lovely, couldn't fault it and the others in the party had the soup of the day, welsh rarebit and a toasted sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their meals equally and no one had a bad word to say! Thank you for such a lovely meal which we enjoyed sitting in their outside court yard. If I'm ever in Llanrwst again I shall return. Highly recommend this place!

We found this cafe after trying to get into another unwelcoming cafe around the corner . So glad we did - we had a dog so the man directed us around the back to a table with an umbrella. We ordered a range of breakfasts as well ascoffee, tea and hot chocolate. Service was excellent and food was delicious. A great cafe definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the area .

Have visited here a few times and the food has always been so nice. The staff are always friendly and have smiles on their faces. My partner always gets a side order of hash browns and they allow this. Best café in Llanrwst by my opinion.

This cafe offers lovely breakfast food and great takeaway service. Their food is made come locally sourced ingredients and I have enjoyed it every time I order.

We found this cafe by accident after having a bad experience in town at another cafe. How happy we were! We had the best cooked breakfast we have ever had and the best service also. My partner is vegetarian and the chef even came to us to ask if she would like or butter or veg spread for her toast! Every staff member was so lovely (family business and all get along well) and other customers were clearly happy to be there. We were so impressed we went back the next day (greedy guts!) and to our surprise the lady remembered our order from the previous day. If you are visiting Llanrwst make a point of seeking this place out. If you stand outside the co op you can see the sign. Thank you again to all of you for makius so welcome. See you again soon.

Stopped by this place as looking for something to eat and had a takeaway sign outside and everywhere else was closed. Really glad we did. Good size menu and food was really good, so much so went back the following day. Staff are very friendly and would highly recommend. Just look out for the takeaway sign outside and pop in
