Hare & Hounds in Oldham

Had a fab night in Hare and Hounds last night, danced the night away

Stopped here for a drink whilst staying in the area. Definitely a locals pub. Nothing in the way of non alcohol drinks except pop. Decent sized beer garden to the rear but needs some tlc. Price as you'd expect in a village pub.

We went for the Sunday lunch. The meal was lovely, and the stars of the show were the roast potatoes. The service was excellent.

Had a wander into Uppermill for first time, busy pub, nice selection of beers, warm pork crackling, didn't eat here but heard good things, will be back to rate the Sunday lunch at some point. 👌

Good trendy pub attracts every body but shuts early

Staffe said it was full then threaten us saying they would knock us out. I already had bought a drink and was trying to get back in. I wouldn’t recommend at night. Stay clear

It was pool night , always a good and late night

Lively atmosphere with a strong hint of regular users. Never been in before, but would be happy to visit again. More of a man's pub. Late night visit so didn't try any food.

Was asked for id which I don’t mind being on the younger side. But was publicly humiliated as the bar staff laughed at me I asked for a beer because I look under age and then got the other customers to all laugh as well. Was very rude. No need for this when I am paying for their service

Beers okay, atmosphere is great. One of the bar staff just roll thier eyes when kindly asking for a drink. Just rude.

Lovely local pub in uppermill nr Oldham very clean inside with TV SCREENS FOR SPORTS and outdoor seating and tables 😀 👌

Wish I could rate one star. Bouncer was extremely rude a d swore at us to get us to leave as soon as the music ended

Top outside garden with bar quick service. Not too pricey. Telly's in the garden for footy. Fab location. Nice barstaff

We were driving through Uppermill and stopped for a look around. We listened to the Brass band playing outside the Legion, popped into a few of the shops, bought some wares and on route back to the car park stepped into the Hare & Hounds. It was quieter than the other pubs we had passed, the combination of old look furniture and new look paint work still leaves the impression with a pleasant nostalgic feel to the past. The two female bar staff were lovely and friendly, as were the locals we spoke to. Very pleased we dropped in on a whim, I hasten to add the driver had a lime and soda. Look forward to dropping by again.

Decent pub with a good selection of beers

Mixed grill wasn't available , ordered Sirloin steak as an alternative. Asked for medium rare .The steak had been cooked to my request red on the inside of etc , however it was dry and very very tough .I can only presume it had been over defrosted in the microwave. No one came to ask if my meal was ok ,I'd tried and failed to attract the waitress attention. As my wife had her meal to ,I reluctantly ate what I could of the meal . When the waitress came to remove our plates , it was obvious my unfinished steak was totally unsatisfactory . Which I also explained to her why . I got a sorry ,but no reduction or anything by way of an apology. Sorry but very very poor !

To be fair to the pub it's an all round good British pub sports on during the day and a very lively atmosphere of an evening.

Good old school pub that's been modernised somewhat inside. Good outdoor space out back. Beer selection is standard. Wainwright ftw

The land lord, bar staff and security are absolutely amazing. Its a buzzing atmosphere you can't go wrong honestly get there and have a top night.

Lovley place for fun with friends

A true sports pub. Large screens show horse racing all day and football when it is on. Always a decent pint. Not very elegant but it is what it needs to be. There is a great outside space which is fab on a sunny day.

Food Overpriced, Cold & Unappetizing.

Very expensive for the beers! The beer we bought was something we both drink a lot of, but what was coming out of the pump wasn't cosha. Looked the wrong colour and tasted odd. I bought a pint of mild tryed it passed it my old man he sipped it and said that's off! And gave it them back! With that we left! Shame as it's a cosey little place spoilt by bad management.

Spit and sawdust local, if you like sports (footy, rugby, horse racing) it's the place to be. More of a larger pub than real ale but it does a passive Lee's if that floats your boat.

Prices very good, staff friendly. A real man's pub with dart board and 2 tv's showing sports. Large beer garden at side, lovely to sit out in good weather.

Great at the ww2 weekend great food, atmosphere, of course BEER! but can be overcrowded, it's that good if you like it busy. (Deffo one of the popular places)

Excellent old English Pub oak beams and serves a variety of good beers, and has a selection of 52 different types of gin well worth a visit. Also a good Sunday lunch.

Views are very good, food nice, serving staff are lovely, management seem a bit "laissez-faire".
