We were here today for a christening and we cannot fault a thing. Food was amazing, portions were huge and the staff were absolutely brilliant. Such a friendly, welcoming place. The girl who took care of the christening and the bills was an absolute gem. She was so helpful and god love her she had a stressful time sorting things for us all but never once stopped smiling and made sure everything was done in the highest standards. Stopped off here after a day at the Ulster folk park. The food was delicious and our dietary requirements were well taken care of. The steak was amazing! Service was great as well. The waffle dessert was excellent too. We'll absolutely be back next time we're in the area. The only reason we're not giving the full 5 stars is because one of the younger waitresses was not as nice as the other waitresses.

Had been several year s ago and wasn’t impressed back then ; went sat night couldn’t been more different an experience ; steaks are perfect and our party had all different and differently cooked outstanding ;; lovely menu with fantastic option s available some dishes seemed eccentric for a country pub the chef obviously very talented , staff lovely , warm and welcoming ;Great to hear and see all the customers eating and drinking and having a great time ; must add although it seemed that all the tables were taken and the place was very busy we all felt COVID safe and secure , , will be back and will not leave it as long next time - well done Greenans

Good traditional Irish food... *Updated* When ever my family come to visit we always go Greenans,the staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. The meals are home cooked and plenty the Sunday lunch is amazing,well worth a visit.

Been "out" to Greenans several times in the last few years. The food is/was always good, tasty and always plentiful ! The biggest problem for it as a restaurant is lack of business, but that's why I described it as "out", because it's "Out of the road !"(as we say here) The Bar is really nice -and a comfortable place to watch "Sports" TV. or have a moderately Romantic Evening (tho fair warning - it's open @5pm, & Closing by 11 to 12pm. It doesn't pay the Owners to be open til 2am.!) We know a fair amount of "local" patrons and Staff, but some friends we brought there one night, went back with their friends and were well received and didn't feel out of place - especially when they mentioned being there with Josie and Colm & Ciara ! It's that sort of place you really only get in Rural areas, people know people from 5-15miles away (more so with Farming families!) But if you're passing from almost Anywhere a bit North round to East, on your way to Rathfriland, Newry or Hilltown Or Even Kilkeel - or the opposite direction from those places to Rathfriland, Hilltown, Castlewellan, Newcastle, Dundrum, Clough Or Even Downpatrick! Phew! Then give them a call or 'drop-in' and you'll be sure of a warm welcome, tasty food and drink aplenty - so much so that you'll end up being ushered out with the Locals and other diners and regret that it's not Open longer or Closer to where you live (or are staying, if a Visitor!) Luckily we've several non-drinkers -meself included - so 2 or 3 cars will do, but if there's only 2 - 6 people I'd suggest one of the many Local Taxi Co. which have 6/7 seats Minivans, and they're not even that expensive! (Especially compared to Fines & Points & Bans - let alone anyones Health and Life ! So "No Drinking & Driving " -especially round the Roads surrounding that Area! They Are Treacherous on a Warm, Summer Day, let alone a Wet, Slippery Night!) Stop! Eat til you can eat no more! Then order Desserts, Coffees etc Get hoofed out, swear you'll be Back! Go Home or Hotel or Tent even and be surprised at how little it cost for a great nite out and how early you're "home" ! That's the Greenans Effect! No matter how awkward or far, you're sure to return to the great little Bar, on the corner of that weird road, which was Like a Crossroads - but wasn't. Matter of fact it's Josie And Emms Birfdays this Month !?! Wonder When They're Open ?!? And if you have read This Far! You may as well Finish the job by Booking a Table!
