Always great food! Sometimes you have to wait a wee while on delivery, but it's always piping hot, and worth the wait! That's far better than getting it 10mins earlier and it half cold, because the driver is greedy and takes too many orders at once. This isn't the case here! Probably the best Chinese in Ballymena in my opinion!

Great food and service I would highly recommend it

Extortionate prices, just paid £10.50 for honey chilli chicken with rice. I know takeaways have gotten more expensive but nothing justifies that price. Sooo many cheaper options around the town and better quality too. Your reply seems to suggest that because you pay vat on all your food is the reason why you are more expensive, yet I use a local takeaway app that have set up cashless payments with various other chinese/Cantonese takeaways at a fraction of what you charge.

Great food and great atmosphere. Very friendly staff, especially Stanley. Would go back again more often if I lived closer.

Was recommended here by a colleague. In the area for work over night and it lived up to everything they said. The food was excellent, the service was noting but perfect and a nice vibe to the restaurant. Ten out of ten to the team who were working tonight. 10/10.

I visited after years of forgetting it was there, lol. I was not disappointed. Its every bit as good as I remembered. I'd still definitely recommend The Go Sun

Great tasting food and very pleasant helpful staff

The first Chinese restaurant in Ballymena. Never lowered the high standards the opened about 50 years ago.

Called in without a reservation on the chance of a bite of something to eat. The place was booked solid. Staff sorted us with a table for 2. Denise was very attentive and made us feel relaxed while we ate. The food was exceptional, and there was plenty of it. I would recommend it here for a good feed, but remember to book and you won't be disappointed.

I have just experienced my first visit to Go Sun Chinese Restaurant and hopefully it will not be my last. 3 of us spent a truly wonderful night here on New Years Eve and the food, staff, atmosphere and attention to detail were magnificent. No expense was spared from the owner to ensure a good night was had by all. The restaurant is located at 43 Bridge St, not far from Go Belfast Grand Parade on 77 Grand Parade.

Enjoyed it. Could have done with a bit more chilli on the Salt and Chilli prawns.

Best Chinese/Asian food in town

Fantastic food, the staff were excellent and not expensive.

3 course lunch special meal only got 2 courses. Beef very chewy and theres better curry sauce in the town. Was recommended by a friend but would not recommend it to anyone.

Had quarter duck and pancakes it was passable but also had honey chilli chicken probably the worst I've ever eaten... chicken was really tough and chewy and the sauce stunk of vinegar, it was really unpleasant! Not good enough at any price

Food came not cooked an then when u contacted go sun an they said they would send me another mean then rang me back again an told me they wouldn’t be sending another meal an was not 1 bit helpful nothing but ignorant

Ballymena has had its fair share of Chinese takeaways and restaurants over the years, and many have been and gone, but the Go Sun was the original (opening in 1966) and still the best.

Had a wonderful meal....service was friendly and my family loved it.

Best Chinese in Ballymena, food is always fresh, hot and delicious! Staff are very friendly and delivery drivers have always arrived early or on time.

Always very friendly, and good food...even though all decorations have been taken down (we assume because of covid) it is still a relaxing atmosphere.

Food not the warmest and not great taste,and staff stares at you eating. No really a traditional Chinese just plain easy dishes you can make at home. Not alot of variety,on menu they should serve dim sum dumpling ect udon noodles dishes not on menu neither. I'll stick to belfast I think. You feel rushed to leave. Staff are friendly though.

The food ,especially the beef and salty chicken is completely hard to chew.

Fabulous food but they never answer the phone number on their website as it always goes to voicemail - like 50 times!! I actually went somewhere else in the end as the queue outside was 4 deep - out of sheer frustration. This happened me twice!!!☹☹☹

Amazing food and fantastic services from a really friendly staff and owner.

We were here for dinner at the weekend and were looking forward to it. The food didn't disappoint as always . They were quite busy although they were operating with less tables than usual. My only complaint was that the service was very slow but it wasn't a problem for us as we were in no hurry! Looking forward to the next visit.

Oldest and Best Chinese in town for a sit in meal

Quiet night (a Tuesday) but very friendly staff helped us to enjoy the dining experience. First time there, so it was a bit of a punt. It was a birthday meal, so had to be special and it was! We had 3 courses, 2 starters and a main and every mouthful was superb. The special starters was different from other chinese restaurants and was delicious, but the duck pancakes was even better and I could have eaten twice as many but needed room for the main course.We had different meals but again the cooking was excellent and tasty.We will be going back, without doubt.

Fantastic meal, great service and atmosphere

Went for our 1st meal here to celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent, well cooked, beautifully served and piping hot. There are some of the standard dishes you expect in a Chinese restaurant but also some different dishes. I recommend the Heung's Sea Bass. Delicate flavour of ginger and perfectly cooked fish. The House Special starter sharing platter was just amazing, so tasty and lots of dips.There's no one rushing you to finish anything. We decided to have starters and then crispy duck before our mains. The staff were perfectly happy to give us a break between the duck and the mains. The staff are really friendly and happy to chat whilst checking everything is ok. Overall we had a lovely evening and will certainly be back again in 2020. Have already recommended the Go Sun to our neighbours as well.

Wanted to have dinner before a show in the nearby Town Hall. The place is nicely decorated and the staff pleasant and helpful. Very attentive. I loved the music track and the fact it was just at a nice level. Low enough so we could have a talk during dinner. We settled on 2 usual meals when in a Chinese establishment. I usually complain about portions being too small. Not here. It was quite filling. However I had ordered chips (as I usually do) but they were not very nice. The only other issue was the time taken to serve us. One starter and one meal. The place was not overly busy. But it took so long we didnt get the coffee(paid for) at the end due to the fact we had to leave to get into the show. We had left well over an hour for the meal?Still a nice place. i will get rice the next time.

Preferred Chinese restaurant in Ballymena. Good, consistent food and at a decent price. Nice to be able to pay with a card, unlike most Chinese restaurants. Haven't been to the sit in but the takeaway is relatively clean and the woman at the desk is always friendly. Can be very busy at the weekend so prepare to call in orders well in advance.

First visit here whilst working in Ballymena in October.Tuesday evening, restaurant was quiet,service was excellent and food was the same.I had beef & Blackbean sauce and my friend had salted chilli chicken.Food was piping hot and full of flavour.Very clean environment and guy who served us was very pleasant.Would definitely visit again.

Very tasty food! I used to go here all the time with my dad when I was a bit younger, and I absolutely loved it. Staff are extremely friendly and courteous.

This was the first Chinese Restaurant in Ballymena. It has been here for over 40 years and is really popular. We use the Restaurant and the Take away and both are excellent.

For award winning restaurant my experience here was not good. The food was bad very bland and not tasty. Expensive overrated and have tasted better takeaway food from Tescos. Unimpressed and won't be back to drink tap water

Went here this evening with my other half for dinner. Have to say it's the best Chinese I've had in Northern Ireland!! Food was beautiful, portion sizes were perfect & prices were really reasonable. The staff were very attentive & Stanley is a lovely friendly chap. Can't wait to go back & bring the kids

Probably wouldn't recommend based on one try. Only tried it once as we didn't enjoy the food and it was a bit overpriced. Slow service too. Others will disagree I'm sure.

Hadn’t been here for a few years so decided to visit recently. It has limited space. The meal was excellent and service was very efficient. It’s not a spot for a quiet romantic dinner but I would recommend it for price, quality and service. The only downside was the fact that the main floor was very slippy , hopefully this has been sorted.

This is the longest established Chineese Resturant in Ballymena. The food remains good as is the service. Maybe the interior would benefit from a little enhancement although would make no changes to the quality on offer.. Its nice to speak with a Chineese girl with a local dialect
