Absolutely stunning location for a really special break and first-class friendly staff. We enjoyed the spa. It was a little crowded on the weekend days, but not unpleasantly, so - there was still space in the hot tubs and saunas. We booked a private riverside hot tub for an hour, and I would absolutely recommend that. Sitting watching a heron fishing in the river while drinking a cocktail is really very cool. I would really recommend visiting on a weekday, though, to get the most. The spa cafe (Elements) is lovely, and the cake was delicious. There are enough different saunas and sitting areas, and hot tuns and pools that it is easy to spend a few hours a day in there and not get bored. We also had a golf lesson with Barry, and he was absolutely fantastic - really helpful and insightful and definitely improved both of our games. The TopTracer driving range is brilliant fun - if you have never used one before, it transforms your time at the range - definitely worth some time. The restaurants are very good, not quite gourmet, but good food, clearly carefully prepared and well presented. It's mostly simple but quite delicious. The highlight for us was the steak at the Castle (restaurant at the golf course). One criticism would be the wine selections - unless you want to drink an entire bottle, the selection is a bit uninspiring. The room was comfortable and clean, we had a river view, which i would definitely recommend the upgrade for. Unfortunately our shower drain wasn't very effective and there was a very slight damp smell in the bathroom. The final recommendation would have to be the afternoon tea - especially if you have a sweet tooth. The savoury items were much more creatively thought out than your standard finger sandwiches and the cakes were a delight. My only criticism was the balance, I could have done with one or two less cakes and one or two more savouries- but then I suppose an afternoon tea isn't supposed to be about the savouries. Overall- if you are looking for somewhere to take someone special I can't recommend it enough.

A beautiful spot to relax and unwind. Really busy when we were there during the week. But there's lots to do. My only flaw is they need to have music or something at the big glass jacuzzi. Food is amazing and drinks r a bit expensive.

had to stand on a stair case for way too long to wait for someone to show us to our table, this is dangerous for a start…seabass was lovely, bang bang chicken was not good - last year when I had it I couldn’t fault it - this time is was basically to large chunks of battered chicken - the batter just fell away when you cut it so I was left with a bowl of batter after it - not worth the price tag of 24 -

Just back from a 2 night stay in the Loft Suite. The room was absolutely immaculate! Mini bar was restocked both days with fresh towels and robes. The cottages are a very short walk from the main hotel itself with a private spa entrance. The hotel and spa itself are not short of perfect. All the facilities are well maintained and present immaculately. All the staff we came across were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was amazing with such a wide selection for everybody to enjoy. Dinner in Fratelli was amazing followed by live music in the bar. While we did not have any special dietary requirements every time we sat down to eat the server asked if we did which is very reassuring for those that may need it. All in all I would not hesitate to return again with no complaints at all.

As part of the twilight package a 2 course dinner is included. Pre 2024 the sides were also included but tonight we were surprised that a portion of chips cost more than £5 extra. We settled for a starter and a main each. The vegetable lacked any substantial vegetables and looked like it was cooked in oxo. Everything else was just ok… which is not what you expect for the Galgorm. The menu was limited and not great.

Had Sunday lunch in gillies today for a Family of nine. The Camembert was the worst we’ve ever had. Runny and the aftertaste is horrible. The Yorkshire puddings should have gone in the bin and not been served as they were beyond burnt. The pavlova was not a pavlova but a meringue nest. £10 for gravy and £5 for an apple juice is extortionate. To cap it all we were overcharged £89 which we had to point out to them. Won’t be rushing back. So disappointing for a hotel with such a good reputation.

The ambiance of the resort was simply enchanting, with stunning views and serene surroundings adding to the overall experience. Our overnight stay was nothing short of perfection, with each of us feeling truly amazing throughout. And let's not forget the breakfast! It was a delicious spread that catered to all tastes, setting us up for another day of relaxation and enjoyment. Needless to say, we will definitely be returning to Galgorm Spa Resort in the future. I stayed in the Galgorm for the first time for 1 night last weekend, and I loved every minute of it. People often make comments on the spa being too busy and not as enjoyable as it used to be, but the hotel was at capacity and I could not fault the thermal village at all, we had an amazing time. We bought 2 cocktails in the thermal village and put these on the room tab, which we paid at checkout. It was only when I returned home, 2 days later an unexpected charge came out of my account to the Galgorm. Only for having notification from my bank, I never would have picked up on this. I phoned the Galgorm right away and was put on hold for 15 minutes, then told they would phone me back once they investigated the issue. What happened was, my tab had not been properly closed on check out, and a guest managed to add more cocktails on to my tab (bearing in mind they would need to know my name for this to happen) and Galgorm had zero security measures in place, meaning they automatically went and charged my card that I used to pay for the room. This was a complete lack of security on Galgorm’s side. I was lucky that the charge wasn’t enough to send me into an overdraft. Galgorm issued me a refund after some back and fourth, however never admitted to security faults and showed a lack of responsibility to be honest - they said it was that people had ordered drinks on the app and my name automatically came up for the room - I am not sure that’s even possible? I feel completely fobbed off by the whole incident and probably won’t return because of this. My advice would be to not build up any tab in Galgorm and to pay as you go - as clearly the security isn’t in place for this, which is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel.

A facial at the Spa was so relaxing but book way in advance to secure your treatment.. I don't have enough words to thank the Galgorm staff for the amazing stays I had there (this one and the previous ones). The quality was perfect from the start and yet it seems to be always improving ! They really went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. The place is magnificient and quiet, it's so relaxing to stay there. Rooms are spotless, spacious, very well equipped and soooo comfortable ! The restaurants are all pretty good, despite being sometimes crowded for diner (depends on the time of the year) but the Galgorm app is a perfect solution to book in advance and plan things. If you cannot or do not want to use the app, the staff is always very welcoming and happy to help. I have to mention the afternoon tea in the Conservatory, which was a bliss, and the included breakfast which was delicious with a wide range of options. I appreciated that all the waiters and waitresses are very careful about allergies or dietary restrictions, double checking and making sure they don't go wrong on your needs. On this subject, I have to say that the Galgorm seemed very inclusive to me : despite my mobility issues, I had no difficulties on site and staff always offered to help without making me feel incapable or inadequate. It was only true kindness and professionnalism. I can't stress enough on how much I appreciated their attitude ! I also used the the thermal village (of course !) and wow... ! I've known the time when they had only the main area, which is already incredible, but this time I went to try the other gardens (Alpine and Walled) and was stunned. It's wonderful and dreamy, especially at night with all the fairy lights on. Went to have a massage too, that was perfect : the therapists are highly professionnal, caring, and attentive, especially about consent. All in all, this place is great value for the money and my favorite hotel ever. I will come back without hesitation if I can !

So far it's been a lovely experience - I've had a detox treatment in the spa, spent time in the thermal village, tried a few (too many) cocktails, had dinner in an affiliated off site restaurant (Castle Kitchen) and have enjoyed it all. The grounds are beautiful and I booked a Riverside view room, which I would recommend, lovely views over the outside spa area and river. My only gripe is that some of the staff I have encountered and unfortunately had to get information from seem to be very new as I have been given wrong directions and wrong info by three different staff members which got a little annoying. It is definitely a treat to come here and although I have enjoyed the experience I haven't been overwhelmed as to really justify the prices. There are many spa resorts throughout Northern Ireland without the price tag that I would consider before Galgorm if I am booking again.

We had dinner there on 6/3/24, staff were great, drinks very good, Malbec excellent and such a great place. The food was very good but the menu is quite limited, especially the starters and mains. I had the Tiger prawns to start which were excellent although I had my heart set on the scallops which was taken off the menu, my wife had Cicken Supreme with risotto which my wife thought was was very good. I looked at the mains menu and saw the Fillet Steak at £49.50, so I said to myself this must be a very special steak so I ordered it Medium Rare. The £49.50 Steak is definitely not woth the money. I have had better steaks in many Belfast restaurants for half the price. My local butchers "Bamfords" of KINGS Road, Whiteabbey cuts beautiful steaks at great prices and nowhere near £49.5o and en though I say so my self I would give the Steak Chef at Galgorm a run for his money while cooking steaks. Sorry but £49.50 is really out of order, needless to say I would never return to any of the Galgrom groups hotels or restaurants.

We had booked a two night stay in the hotel. On check in we were told that our spa experiences had already happened despite the fact we hadn't checked in. (I'm not sure how this happened maybe issues transferring the booking from the websote) Staff at reception were lovely and changed the times for us. Room was lovely spacious and clean. We also booked a celtic thermal experience. We were told to arrive at 5. We arrived at the spa reception at 5 then was told it had ready started so we missed that experience which was disappointing. The lady had told us we could go into the sauna after the experience was over and she could give us towels to waft at each other- which I thought was unuseful and unecessary. We weren't offered a different time or different experience. So there was part of the package that we completely missed out on. We had attempted to book massages but availability was low so only one of us got a spot. Massage was absolutely lovely with no faults. Staff in the gin bar were absolutely phenomenal. Very friendly, recommended us drinks. The gin bar was the nicest experience we had. We had afternoon tea which was lovely and well organised. The thermal village was nice, it just felt very over crowded. The overall experience seemed to have quantity over quality. I personally wouldn't return due to the issues with our bookings.

MORE AT Google

I'm posting this review 2 months after having visited Fratelli Galgorm with my family on 9th December 2023. The reason I've waited to leave the public review until now was to allow the galgorm group the opportunity to revert back to me but unfortunately they haven't, despite multiple emails from myself explaining my complaint and asking for an update/resolution. We had booked for the Santa experience with the galgorm and booked a reservation to done in Fratelli as this was the only location left with available bookings. My sister and I had recently both had our first babies and wanted to have a memorable family day out to kick off the Christmas celebrations for the first time with children. Given that both our children were less than 6 months old, we didn't mind paying extra for a luxury experience, given that the children wouldn't be of age to know about Santa, it was more for the benefit of a family day out and making memories. Safe to say I wish I'd have taken the kids to a local shopping centre to see Santa as I would bet it would have been an better experience overall and for a fraction of the price. When making the booking I advised that we would need space in the restaurant for 2 prams. To sum up, they did not take this into consideration and placed us in front of the kitchen ( which was constantly busy with waiters ifting hot plates etc over our heads). They asked my sister push her pram into the corner up against a boiling hot raidator. Also this was in a corner where high chair were kept, and waiters were in and out lifting high chairs over my niece's head. They asked me to push my pram up against a fire exit door, at which point I politely refused given it was far enough from where our table was and my child was 3 months old. I was then told to squeeze my pram between the table and a cutlery desk. My child was sleeping in the pram, whilst waiters stacked glasses 2-3 levels high above where he slept. Complete health and safety risk. I'd like to say this was the worst of my complaint, but was just the beginning. The service in terms of the waiting staff was appalling. Table not cleared after our mains and when I asked for it to be cleared the waitress looked offended that I'd asked the question and lifted 2 plates before disappearing altogether. The packages was a 4 course meal to include tea and coffee, but we had to again to request this. No spoons were provided with the cups and saucers, so if we wanted sugar or milk we ended up stirring this with the rear end of a knife left on the table. At the end, no one came to check was all ok or offr the bill. I asked at the front desk and paid what was outstanding just so we could leave. The food was below average. Starters were cold, the main was undercooked, dry and no condiments normally accompanying a Christmas dinner were provided i.e. gravy or cranberry sauce. I was beyond stressed and angry to even eat dessert. Overall it tasted as though the food had been reheated and thrown at us. The worst and most shocking part was when my sister and I went to use the baby changing facilities. We queued for a while for the toilets, realising the baby changing was in the disabled toilet which isn't unusual, however, seems to be who didn't seem to know why the door was locked. After another few minutes, the manager approached us to advise this was out of order and asked could we use the normal toilets or alternatively walk across to gillies. That day we had torrential rain and he expected us to take them out into the cold across the courtyard to have their nappy changed. Really? Considering this was a family event, they should have expected parents would need access to changing facilities. Overall, it was a shocking experience and I could say much more if it wasn't for the cap on the word limit. Supposedly a 5 star resort that I would give 0 stars to if I could. To add insult to injury, despite phone calls and multiple emails to follow up, no one from the galgorm have come back to me to resolve this. Absolute disgrace, do not give this establishment your money.

Had a lovely stay for my mams 60th birthday. We stayed in the 2 bed shepard huts which were really nice. The shepard huts were so well equipped with everything you would need. WiFi is the only problem as It only worked for about an hour a day. Not a problem if you want to totally switch off but was a bit annoying when you need your phone as we did. It was a fair walk in heels and in the cold up to the hotel which takes about 10 minutes. Staff were excellent on our stay and food was out of this world. We all got treatments which were lovely. The hotel is going through a lot of renovations and it was noisy at times in the spa area especially at the pool which was really loud with drills yesterday. The spa lacks anywhere to sit and get some heat and it was frustrating when the pool area was as loud as a building site yesterday. My only other irk is the price of alcohol in galgorm, its as expensive as any meal option which I think if they reduced the price it would encourage people to drink more. We went back to our hut for drinks both nights as the prices were just too expensive. €39 for 3 drinks and no lemon in the gin and tonic. I would go back but do think there is better value elsewhere and the renovations and noise definitely took away from the relaxed experience a little bit.

First time, they added another table's drinks order to our bill and it was a real effort to get them to take it off! They were rude and did not apologise for their error. Second time, they warned us at the start that they needed the table in 2 hours and asked if this was ok. I don't understand as this is dependent on them and how fast they get the food out, not on us!! They moved us from our table after 2 hours and one of us was still eating! I felt this was really rude!! They should have served us quicker if they needed the table. Such a shame that the service ruined two otherwise lovely evenings.

So this was part of the package we had booked within the Galgorm. Menu we were given was the residents menu which was a 3 course meal, however we opted for steaks which has a supplement charge. But damn was it worth it, food here is so tasty and flavour some! Has to one of the best steaks I've ever had!! If you're a cocktail drinker you'll not be disappointed either, slightly pricey price tag for them for worth it! Also the breakfast in here is so damn good! Set us up for the rest of the day!

Went high expectations for evening dinner staff as you would expect, disappointed that many of the diners were dressed in sports wear including very shot shorts surly a hotel/restaurant pitching and pricing at the level Galgorm and Gillies do should have a smart casual dress code. Starters and main course were good but adding sides at the server’s recommendation made main meal expensive ( I declined a side as menu stated my main course had fries included my wife ordered side to discover it was not necessarily needed as dish was adequate without) dessert was disappointing at a cost of £9.50! Expected better. Beware a bottle of water is £6.10 so don’t let the server rush you ask for tap water At the level this establishment promotes its self at everything should be perfect

We were with a large group of about 14 people and all but one said the food was great. I had the shepherd's pie, and it was lovely. The place itself is very quaint and attractive. There is plenty of parking but the layout is a bit strange - lots of different small sections, and not much signage about where you should park for different parts of the venue.

Impressive front entrance from the public road ditto the sweeping drive up past the water rapids on the left. The full frontal appearance of the hotel proper very smart. Once you drive past the front door and start around the side of the structure it goes down hill so to speak. The layout of the car parking seems to have been an after thought.Like the song “A bit at a time” of construction over the years by the previous proprietors. Poor tarmac surface in parts with no sense of order re layout. A pathetic mini roundabout complimented with not the sharpest signage informing drivers wanting to leave the property out to the public road. The present bosses could take a study at this aspect of your setup please. The visit we had inside the premises in the Gillies bar / pub / restaurant an 8 out of ten score.

We stayed in Galgorm overnight and whilst that was a bit of a disappointing experience, I have to say that our dinner in Gillies rescued what was quickly becoming a disastrous stay. Our table wasn't great, we were right at the top of the stairs near the double doors to the hotel and guests kept appearing in dressing gowns. However, our food was delicious, well cooked and nicely presented. I ordered bang bang chicken and my partner had a steak. The portions were more than enough and yes it was expensive but we felt it was worth it. The service from the staff was exceptional and we will definitely return. Highly recommend.

We stayed for a weekend in Galgorm and visited here on our last night. We had been so looking forward to it and a way to finish the perfect weekend. The staff were friendly upon greeting us but that is were it ended for the most horrendous meal I have ever had in my entire life. I know that sounds very dramatic but it was just disgusting. We were in a group of 4 and each picked something different from the menu which was very basic. Each of us took around 3 mouthfuls from our meal and literally couldn't finish. One dish the fish was overcooked and the sauce was just grease, the pork dish was literally rubber in a bed of gooey, greasy noodles and the prawn pasta dish had literally no taste. The person who ate the pork felt so unwell she had to leave and couldn't finish the night off in the hotel bar as the food upset her stomach so much, it really but a dampener to the end of what was such a great weekend. The meal was very over priced for what it was and don't understand how the chef could serve such food. We are due to go back in the coming months to Galgorm but will avoid here at all costs. The Italian on the Friday night was just beautiful so would advise to go there instead.

We visited today for lunch. I had fish of the day (cod) which was flavourless , sitting on a bed of crushed (left over) potatoes, a drizzle of gloopy sauce and green beans.£24.50 I was advised to order a side and that was an additional 7.50 making one course Sunday lunch 32.00 which was excessive and even more so given the how bland the dish tasted. My husband had a burger again sides are extra which seems very unfair. He said the burger was ok however the not so chunky chips had been reheated and smelt very oily. On a positive note the waitress was lovely and service was good. She kindly removed the cost of a glass of wine from the bill when i said how disappointed we were. Even so I definitely will not be back in Gillies. We have stayed at Galgorm on numerous occasions and usually have eaten in Fratelli (only open in the evening)which has been excellent every time. I think when a restaurant sets itself at this price point one should expect a lot better, and not be served food which you could cook better at home.

There is a very good selection of cereals and fruit, meat and cheeses and everything you will need for a filling cooked breakfast with eggs cooked to order.
