Family Bistro in Croydon

Let’s be honest, the moment you walk in you start to wonder if that was a good choice. Interior does not make a very good impression: quite cold, dark and only one table occupied. But it smells nice and it is clean. We were immediately welcomed by the owner and we started in a nice conversation. The menu is quite large and you have all main polish dishes in there. After short while the food arrived and...OMG it was fantastic! Everything is very fresh and tasteful, the meat was very good quality so as salads. The portions are very reasonable so you will definitely leave full stomach. The only slight minus was lack of possibility of paying by card so if you don’t have cash, you need to go to the cash machine but this is a minor detail and did not affect the experience. We are definitely coming back!

¡Buena comida! Platos típicos polacos, siempre recién horneados, solo uno menos para la ubicación. Pero lo recomiendo para aventuras culinarias! !

Jedzonko super , bardzo smaczne i podawane gustownie ,zawsze świerze. Obsługa bardzo miła i przyjazna. Atmosfera rodzinna. Polecam 100tu procentowo

Ta restauracja miała wielu właścicieli To co się tam dzieje teraz to absolutny top. Rodzinny biznes z miła atmosfera, bardzo przyjazny na obiad z dziećmi. Czas oczekiwania na posiłki jak w każdej dobrej restauracji jest zauważalny ale w pełni rekompensują to smaczne i świeże dania. Mimo iż nie mieszkam już na Norbury na pewna będę przyjeżdżał. P.s każdy kto miał gorsze wspomnieni z poprzednich wizyt w tym miejscu gwarantuje ze pod nowym kierownictwem będzie miłe zaskoczony.

We have visited Family Bistro on several occasions, and the food has never disappointed me. It is always fresh and tasty. I’ve never eaten such a great duck and would recommend it to everyone. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are huge. The owner and his daughter (who is also a waitress) are always making us feel welcome and are making sure that the highest quality service is provided. Be very careful as you may get addicted to this place!

To be honest I don't know where to start. I'm Polish so I like to eat polish food :) I've tried few polish restaurant in London. Recently someone in my cousin's workplace recommended this Bistro to him. He didn't try it yet (looser) but he passed that recommendation to me. So two weeks ago me and my wife went there to give it a try. We both enjoyed it, so I decided to come back there last Saturday. OMG. I've tried "Ossobuco (beef shank?) in wild mushrooms sauce, sliced potatoes and salad (pictured below). Well, I can say only one thing: I am 42yo, and it was THE BEST MEAL I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! Actually I am speechless. In Poland there is someone like Gordon Ramsay. Once when she (it is female in Poland) said one word after trying one dish in MasterChef program: "orgasm". And now I know what she meant :) If you want to find out - you have to come here and try it yourself. I wish that I could give more than 5 stars, this Bistro deserves more. Now, let me say little bit about Bistro itself. As the name says it is Bistro run by family. The cook is mother and I would like to congratulate her for her professionalism and sense of taste. I believe that if she would take a part in MasterChef program, she would win it easily. Her work that she is doing there is just incredible. Bear in mind that everything is cooked after you make an order. Products are fresh, there is nothing frozen or half prepared day before. I uploaded weekends menu. On weekdays you might have some additional amazing dishes. However during my work shift pattern, I can only go there over weekends :( I also uploaded half of duck that my wife tried on our first visit. And please believe me: it looks great and it takes great :) Just look how happy she is. When I tried to write a review here on TripAdvisor, I couldn't find this Bistro. I'm so pleased that it was me that contacted with TripAdvisor so they created this page :) And I'm honoured that I'm the first person that write this review for such a great place like this. Right now I know one thing: there is no better polish restaurant in London, or even in UK. So if you like polish food, or if you would like to try something that is amazing and you will remember it for the rest of your life: please come here and try the best polish food served in here. There is only one thing that can disappoint you: view of your empty plate when you finish your meal :)
