Lovely food, good size portions, friendly staff, first time of going and can honestly say we will go back soon.

If you’re staying close by I would heartily recommend this restaurant. The phot was excellent, the service was brilliant and it was very reasonably priced.

Honestly the food was unbelievable, the service from both the waiters was second to none. Really happy and friendly and top quality food. The personal recommendations were top tier. 👌

Most charismatic curry house I've been to.

Very basic inside, staff pleasant when ordering. But atmosphere subdued and quiet. Food is not to the best quality; I've tasted far better.

The food is fantastic, worth coming back for again and again. And the service is exceptionally friendly. Not a local and yet treated with the same warm welcome. Highly recommended.

Six of us ate at Essence of India last night and the food was outstanding as was the service. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. Our Maitre D' was small in height, but big in personality and heart. Would recommend to all and we are looking forward to visiting again soon!

Was our first visit after hearing and reading good things, and they are not wrong! Definitely will visit again, and you should visit too! (The Marton special curry is bang on! 🤌)

It’s always entertaining and enjoyable here. The food is excellent including some of the nicest naan bread I have ever tasted. The owner is a great character who can’t do enough to help. Highly recommended.

Came to the restaurant on a recommendation. Mainly served by Muj, an absolute beauty of a man. The food was exceptional.

Wow what can I say, from the moment our group of 10 walked in we were made to feel like kings and Queens. We were met by our host called Mudj, who complemented the ladies and greeted all the males. All the food was spot on, the flavours, the amounts and most of all the presentation was top notch. Mudj kept our glasses fall and was constantly making sure everything was okay.The food kept coming as did the drinks and as they say "time flies when your having fun" 😊 Would recommend this to anyone!!!

Called in early evening on the way home. Really friendly place, staff very welcoming and eager to please. Very good & varied menu.

First impressions you may think this place isn't particularly impressive and somewhat dowdy. But the food is always fragrant, fresh & quite outstanding. Staff are also exceptionally friendly & attentive. Amazing range of dishes with fast & efficient service. Restaurant area is quite large and can cater for lots of guests without appearing rammed. Plenty of spacious parking outside. Pub/bar on site too but that always seems to be dead whenever we visit & I suspect locals may go drinking elsewhere!? Nevertheless, probably the best Indian restaurant for miles around!?

We had a great evening thank you, was just expecting a normal meal out, but the team here made us feel very welcome, were very friendly and funny, we took them up on their meal recommendations and they were all fantastic, we all left talking about what a great experience we’d had, thank you all 👍🏻

Came here whilst attending a course. There were 15 of us and on arrival we were slightly apprehensive. The internal decor is very dated and the garden very unkempt. Do not let any of this deceive you. The service and the food was outstanding. Seriously, this place is a hidden gem.

We spotted this absolutely wonderful place on the road back to Coventry. The food and service really was fantastic and Muj the head waiter and his brothers were all welcoming, enthusiastic and took great pride in their business. Highly recommended if you like good food.

Not the restaurant it was. Though the food was still up to the standard I knew a few years ago the place now has a shabby air to it and overall slightly disappointed.

Staff were very friendly and made you laugh but food was bland and didn’t have any flavour and not to my liking.

Came here for a meal whilst staying locally for a work course, the staff were amazing and were attentive. The food was beautiful and we had a great selection of rice and naan which was nice. Just a shame the place wasn’t busier! If I lived local I’d definitely be back

A short hop from Coventry ... For a nice Ruby ! Lamb Rezelah , Chicken pistachio , mushroom fried rice and Tarka Dahl .... a great meal for the two of us .

Balti was 'nice' but tastes a little like it came out of the microwave .... 18mins from order to door .... Some might say that's great but the driver said he did Marton to Southam in 5 mins which is worrying.... I will use again but hoping the balti will have more flavour next time.

Great for dining in and the takeaway is also brilliant if you're not driving/fancy having it delivered. Really tasty authentic food and can make other dishes not on the menu but there is a generous selection on offer anyway. Friendly staff too, my favourite in the area without a doubt

Awesome authentic food. One thing to note that this is a Bangladeshi restaurant not Indian and expect some sweet tomato flavour in every dish but that won't taste bad. Staff is really nice.

Family and I had a really lovely meal here Easter Sunday . Delicious food and what can I say about the service.. brilliant . My 90 year mother is telling everyone about this place ! Thank you for making it a special meal . Can’t recommend highly enough

Must be one of the best Indian restaurants we have been to, food is top quality not over priced and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Brilliant service, Brilliant food

Disappointed, arrived at restaurant with no one to greet customers at the bar. Stood for a few minutes waiting for a staff member to arrive but no one came along. Walked into the restaurant and was told to wait in bar area. Waited another 15 minutes without any staff coming to offer us any drinks or communicate when our table would be ready so decided to leave

Visited this restaurant whilst my Mum and I were in the area for a 1 night stay. The staff were brilliant and the food was delicious. There was a slight miscommunication whereby my Mums curry was made 'extra hot', but I swapped my dish with hers as I can handle a bit more spice, and we both really enjoyed our meals. Also, Best chapatis I have ever had. I would definitely eat here again.

We had a takeaway delivered, Ranga Bow Chicken, Chicken Jalfrezi, a naan a chapati very tasty, large portions. Made for a nice lunch next day for me. Highly recommended.

Nice food BUT restaurant was very grubby / dirty and since realised they only have a 1 star food hygiene rating. No excuse for being dirty. Won't risk going back for a dose of whatever.....

My husband and I went to Essence of India while visiting the area. The lamb curry Muj recommended was one of the best curries I have ever had, very authentic Indian food. Everything we ate was delicious and the team were so friendly (particularly Muj!). Highly recommend this restaurant, the food was outstanding.

Food is always amazing, the staff are super friendly and accommodating. With the restrictions put in place with COVID I felt really comfortable and safe too. Thank you for yet another amazing meal!

I visited Essence of India with my family on Saturday 8th of February. The service and food was once again amazing. If you want to eat Indian food at its best visit this place for the experience.

I nearly gave 3 stars but that would have been disingenuous, it's a lovely place well liked by locals and us. You go for the food, which is very good.. It's consistent which is the so important thing. We would happily go again. It must be said that they could do with nipping into the British heart foundation and but a load of sofas and a few coffee tables. The bar area need filling with stuff to make it cosy, it is a village pub after all. I think they need to put someone in charge of buying the booze and making sure they have some in to sell. Everything could be bottled so there's no pipes to keep clean or anything but they need to sorry out their wines. Giving that job to one person would make sure they knew what was what.
