Love going there. A homely and welcoming village pub with warm people and atmosphere where you feel like you can kick off your shoes, curl back on the sofa and chill out to some lovely beer or wine or whatever they serve there. The landlady especially is full of bon homie and joy. The service is as usual top notch. I highly recommend this place!

Lovely lunch, attentive service. Would recommend

Following all the review I was looking forward to enjoying a quality Sunday lunch. The pub is a traditional country pub fayre and is well presented whilst having that older pub feel, not a fake old pub if that makes sense. Service was ok - not overly attentive and at times a little dismissive, for example I began to request certain veg/potch to not be included in my plate - and I was stopped mid sentence to be told it comes for the table - which was ok - but a little abrupt. Food was quick to arrive at the table and I was disappointed to find the pitch was on the plate not in the veg bowl as was advised. Plates consisted of your meat selection, roast potatoes, potch and gravy - the amount of meat was reasonable, roast potatoes a little stingey - not that Sunday roast opulence - 3 roast potatoes in my mind is tight. Onto the veg bowl, for 3 persons it was effectively a cereal bowl, half filled with peas, minimal carrots, small amount of cabbage and 4 new potatoes - definitely not enough for 3 persons. Roast flavour and cooking was good, meats perfectly cooked and not tough or fatty, and veg cooked well. Puddings were a little disappointing - the cheesecake had the weirdest consistency - more of a whipped cream base then that sharper cream cheese flavour, the fresh single cream with it managed to bring a little dairy flavour back to it. With so many pubs using Sundays to showcase and attract customers - I would not put this anywhere near the crowd, sadly the chain carveries manage to trump at a similar price range (not what I am seeking from a country pub). Not likely to return and I wouldn't rate as a destination pub for travel to.

My Dad, my Wife and myself, had a lovely welcome on arrival, after ordering the food came very quick. The bar staff and waitress were very friendly, the menu was simple to navigate and the chioce of food was excellent. The food itself was outstanding. I was disappointed with my meal as I had steak and ale pie, I was informed that it was home made but clearly had been heated in the microwave as the pastry was soggy and uneadible. I was informed that the chef would be told of my disappointment but as expecte d no feedback from the kitchen The person who served us very unprofessional in their attitude. I will not be visiting again

The best Sunday roast .A variety of meet to choose from and lots vegetables. All at good price. Great choice of desserts.

Leaving 1 star for service is being generous, we walked in and asked for a table for 4, the staff member behind the bar was rude and just muttered under her breath whilst looking for a table. Gave us a table. We were offered drinks quite soon and was told they’d bring a menu over, we waiting over ten minutes for a menu to be brought over even after asking for this. We then had another long wait for them to come and take our order. In the mean time regular customers were coming in being politely greeted by staff members and orders being taken promtly. After taking our food order we were left with nearly an hour wait for food(the wait wasn’t the issue but the fact that again regular customers were coming after we ordered food and were getting their food and finishing it and leaving before ours got brought to the table), then to top it off we asked to pay separately and again the rude woman behind the till huffed as this meant she actually had to work something out. Tried telling her what we were paying for off the bill and she snaps “wait a minute” before then asking what we were paying for. Total shambles service wise and highly recommend bar staff get training on how to actually deal with customers politely.

Decided to try the pub after a few years not going after the then landlord left and new landlords took over. Went for a Sunday roast which was lovely, we really enjoyed it, however, we found the staff to be rude and miserable

It was our first visit here with my family, and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent—beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. I was particularly impressed by how seriously they handled my food allergy, taking extra precautions to ensure my meal was prepared safely. I can't fault this place at all. Amazing food, great service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back!

I was here for a family get together in the week and must say it was excellent! We'd pre-booked a table (which made sense given the number of people who'd be at the meal), however everyone arrived sporadically because of various issues and in fairness, the staff were brilliant at keeping everyone topped up with drinks and put no pressure on anyone to start ordering early so they could make a start on what would be a lot of food! Once everyone had settled, we collectively ordered our mains, all of which different and once again, clearly no issues because they all got to the table at the same time. This was exactly the same for the deserts and once again, the staff were excellent throughout. The food itself was really very good, both in terms of quality and portions. Everyone around the table had ordered something different and everyone made a point of saying how good their meal was. I noticed a few people had struggled to clear their plates despite commenting on how excellent the food was, but simply couldn't eat another bite! This is not a condition I've ever found myself in, but it shows that the portions are generous and offers great value for money. In summary, great food, great service and a great atmosphere and ambience on what was a great night out! I'd highly recommend a visit if you want a nice meal on a special occasion.

We hadn't booked but they managed to squeeze us in for Sunday lunch. Really impressed with the nut roast. The staff were really friendly. Lovely atmosphere.

We were accommodated for a late Sunday lunch for 5. We enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch, lots of it, fresh veg which was not over cooked, Served quite quickly and the staff were lovely. A gorgeous sunny day too, so the doors were open on to the garden, which was also lovely. We will definitely return.

Great little pub just off the motorway. It was very busy when we visited with no tables available, but they let us use a booked table if we were quick (40 minutes). The food was excellent (Steak pie) with exceptionally flaky pastry. Warm welcome from staff. Reasonably sized car park (see photos) but was quite full so plan accordingly. All in all a very nice visit.

Nobody gets five stars, but saying that, this is as close as it gets. A very warm welcome to a warm, cosy, yet spacious village pub that has a lovely atmosphere, and the gentle buzz of conversation enhanced this. The staff were very pleasant, busy, yet attenntive. One of the best menu selections I've seen for a long, long time with, just for example, a selection of three types of fish dishes which include sea bass, salmon, and cod - four if king prawns are included. Additionally, as if there is not enough choice on the table menu, there is also a 'specials board' with additional choices. The food (not fish) was well presented, piping hot and plentiful - I couldn't finish mine. If you like onion rings, the ones served here are the best! Seriously!! The batter is unbelievably crispy - not soggy in the least - and tasty, sooo tasty! The rings are from large onions. Chips - well, if you like chips, this is definitely the place to go - crispy, and so tasty, and not your usual bland 'pub chips/fries' - these seem to be scalloped and seasoned. What more to be said? Several dining areas ranging from a smallish room through to the main dining area and then through to the large conservatory area. A lovely seating area outside with mature garden, which in the warmer weather will be a delight to sit in and enjoy food or drink outside. Finally, access from the car park can be a little awkward due to some steep and narrow steps for those with mobility issues, but thoughtfully, several disabled parking slots have been allocated at the front of the pub, with easy access to the interior. We've been here quite a few times, and this is one of our 'Go to' places for lunch when in the vicinity of Llantrisant. Thoroughly enjoyable!!

Our first visit to this place, it was warm and welcoming. However the food in my experience was awful. I ordered lasagne and when it arrived it looked like a pile of cat food, It was so dry and the so called pasta had the substance of sticky mashed potato. I think it had had been warmed up so many times it just looked like gloup. Sorry for the negative comment but there is no way it was "Freshly cooked lasagne" as stated on thier menu.

Called early so it wasn't a problem getting a table. The staff are very friendly and the service was good. The food was very tasty, should be something on the menu for everyone. Perhaps the chips were too thin and crispy. Also, noted on the bottom of the menu additional 50p for sauces. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Unbelievable probably one of best places I've been for food in years Staff can't do enough for you really hopefully and the food is simply out of this world My wife went for the hunters chicken and looked lovely plenty of sauce and a lovely bit of bacon I went for the mountain burger and when they say mountain burger they mean mountain it's absolutely huge But hands down the staff are the gem of this restaurant. The blonde waitress didn't get her name and couldn't do enough for our daughter giving her a colouring book while we had food and 3 scoop Ice cream she was so chuffed I'd also like to thank you to the woman from cemetery road also didn't get your name thank you we will definitely be back soon

I had a lovely meal, We spent the best part of £80 on food and drink but we were charged 50p For a part of tomato ketchup...🤭 really.!! I'm surprised you didn't charge us for the Salt & pepper as well ..... Surely things can't be that bad... We were paying between £15 & £20 for a meal.... The staff were amazing... If I went back again I would probably bring my own condiments ..... sort it out guys were spending good money To come to your restaurant .......

If you like fresh food perfectly cooked, with plenty of flavour, and all served with a smile, then this is the place for you! Lovely atmosphere, with an olde world flavour, the owner has got the correct idea on customer satisfaction. Where do I start with the chef, he's extremely talented, and please keep an eye out for his "specials" board. The only negative is that one of the barmaids, how can I put it, hasn't quite got hold of the idea of having a good interaction with her customers. Apart from that, this is our most favourite eatery and watering hole, give yourselves a treat and visit soon.

First of all if there is anyone left in Wales that appreciates top quality real ale you should make a pilgrimage to the Dynevor Arms. Neil is stocking London Pride which is like nectar, beautifully kept and served with the nozzle or nozzle off. In the past we have had to go to Bath, Chiswick, Paddington or St Albans to get a decent pint of Pride, now we have it in the Dyn, If you appreciate real ale and you live on the M4 make a special trip to the Dyn and arrange a taxi home. Also Neil and Mary have had a tasting panel to chose a fabulous Rioja, which is so good you drink far too much of it. Neil is also a great chef. Everything is freshly prepared from original ingredients. I have had 3 Christmas dinners so far with local groups and all the groups were really complimentary. I recommend the Stone Bass after Christmas. Last time I was there I spent around £40 but I had the Christmas meal, a couple of pints of Pride, and too much Rioja, So it is not expensive for the quality of the food and drink. Mary and Neil have turned the Dyn into one of the best pubs in South Wales, if you like top class real ale and tidy food.

My family and I had Christmas lunch and it was superb, the waitress was attentive and the service was swift, can't wait to visit again

Put on table which was reserved had to move, ordered hunters chicken, meat tasted off, ate chips and coleslaw only. Waitress pick up plates asked ok reported told her chicken off she would tell chef, no response back waited 40 min approx. Went to pay as my friend had food as well which was ok. We asked what they thought was wrong with the chicken. Was told no one was aware, pointed to waitress we told who then went speak to chef. Abrupt response let her have it 1/2 price. No apologies from chef we never found out what was wrong with it. Could be one bad chicken but would’ve expected some courtesy p

Very good food and friendly service

I visited here for three first time Friday and was left disappointed. I ordered a lasagne which i had confirmed was beef prior to - the chicken curry was being unsold by the Chef however went with lasagne. I can honestly say I've never had anything like it. The lasagne wobbled, the lasagne had a similar texture as blamange and the bolognese was tasteless, I added salt etc however, felt queasy trying and therefore didn't. If did manage a handful of chips. My.partner enjoyed his meal of cod and chips. I found it a little strange how nobody approached to ask how food etc was and although we asked for the bill however upon waiting a little we saw that the staff were busy and went to the bar. Upon asking for the bill we mentioned what we has as well as the fact the lasagne meal was left on the table as although tried I could not eat it and was very disappointed. Paul was called over however did nothing I assume he was the manager nut seemed unphased at the issue. A young barman who was behind the bar with the card machine presented this to us and asked how everything was I was honest I'm saying my food was disgusting. The bar person actually burst out laughing to which I advised I felt was unprofessional and poor customer service this only made matters more or a comedy it would appear as rhe laughter continued. I expressed my disgust at this and was met with a 'oh you are serious'. No apology, no refund, no acceptance of poor experience. I emailed the premises directly but received no response so far. Looking at other reviews I am hardly surprised. I would not waste money let alone return again.

Great pub, warm and cozy with cute decorations. Food was good but took ages, we waited 45 mins for starters and another hour for our mains.

Called in for sunday lunch, had our drinks and lunch fairly quickly, had to ask 2 members of staff for the dessert menu, 20 minutes later no dessert menu, i had to go up to the bar and request the dessert menu. Finally after 30 minutes our desserts arrived. Then went up to the bar complained to the lady about the service, she didnt even appolgise or take anything off the bill. Ive been a catering manager for over 20 years catering for 2,000 people, the 1st thing you do with a complaint is a apologise and refund. Even after complaining i was charged full price and told im short staff but thats not your problem. What is my problem is bad service and attitude. Thanking Susan jefferies

Not a cask marque accredited pub. Misleading sign at the entrance. Only one cask beer (Doom Bar) food ok, but fish a touch overcooked, portions not generous. Apparently new management so early days maybe?

Returned to this very welcoming pub after several years. Impressed. Excellent menu range and the dishes were served with interesting additional touches. Presentation was also creatively done. Excellent range of drinks including a draft % alcohol Heineken. Would highly recommend. Plenty of parking with a pleasant outdoor seating area.

On a busy Saturday afternoon we booked at 5pm for a table of 4. 2 children 2 adults. The service on arrival was good and were we shown to our "reserved" table promptly. Our server Alex was extremely attentful and let us settle before taking drink orders. Menus have changed since new ownership and we found they catered to the children's and our tastes. Meal orders all correctly taken and sent out promptly making sure kids were served first. The food has GREATLY improved since we last ate here under previous ownership. It is clear the chef is well trained and it shows in the quality of food and its presentation. We were table checked and and had zero complaints. The Fish and Chips is large and fresh with vibrant salad and REAL chips! The Steak and Ale pie was full of flavour with succulant beef (not fatty) and flaky pastry, The Sirloin was perfectly cooked to medium and finally the Lasagne was of a qualitly of an Italian restaurant. The whole vibe of the place is jolly, friendly and welcoming.... We will return!

It was very busy in the Dynevor the afternoon we went, but the food didn't take very long at all, and the staff were very pleasant. We both enjoyed our meal and the desert.
