Have just eaten at Dylan's. Lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting. I had a pizza my wife had Lasagne. My pizza was lovely fair play and would have again. 1 slight gripe I asked for extra chilli and was told yes no problem. Wasn't until we received the bill that I noticed I'd been charged £2.50 for this. Seems an awful lot for some extra chilli. This wasn't explained when I ordered . There we are I suppose we live and learn. Would have been very easy for the staff to mention this when ordering. Maybe something for Dylan's to consider in the future

Been to Dylan’s in Criccieth a few times so as we were staying near Menai Bridge though we would give the local Dylan’s a go. Busy, but not as busy as it could have been for a Saturday night. The food was up to the usual standard I have come to expect from Dylan’s. The service, unfortunately on this occasion, was not up to the usual Dylan’s standards. We arrive at 7:50 for an 8 pm table. Sat in the bar area briefly to look at menus before being shown to table just before 8. We gave our drinks order around 8:05 then our food order in around 8:15. One starter then 4 mains. The single starter arrived at 9:05. The mains around 9:30 after having checked with waiting staff if there was a delay. The delays were problematic in themselves but the thing that particularly annoyed was the lack of communication. A simple to say when meals were due and an apology would have been great but this didn’t happen. What particularly annoyed was a table nearby who arrived after us had finished and left before our mains arrived. After our meal we did speak with the staff, not to complain about food but just to discuss the lack of communication over potential delays to keep customers updated on meal preparation progress. So in summary, no issue with food just the lack of apparent management system for delays.

Was told that takeaways could be ordered, attempted to then order and it was very difficult trying to figure out what could be ordered as a takeaway and what couldn’t. Person on the phone wasn’t very helpful, seemed to want to end the call as quickly as possible and kept on wanting to finish the order, even though we were ordering for a family - in the end, cancelled the order halfway through the call as it was too difficult trying to order

We shared 2 mains. Chicken Cesar salad. Seafood linguine. Chicken was chunks scattered over lettuce with croutons , cheese shavings ,anchovies ? and garlic mayo. It was ok. Overpriced. Not worth the money. A smaller portion as a starter maybe ok but boring as a main dish. Seafood linguine. Mussels crayfish prawns crab. Huge portion of linguine enough for two people to share. The seafood was not fresh but frozen bottled or other preserved method. Mussels were ok. Service was great. Views of Menai straits fabulous. Parking was non existent so make time to find a space if you have booked a table. Can’t really recommend. Sorry.

We visited Dylan's Menai Bridge today 13/7/24 for Lunch. We were shown to a table very courteously by a member of staff .We chose our food from the menu then placed our order at the reception area . The coffee and beer came quickly, then our bread arrived with no cutlery or serviettes. We then waited for over half an hour for our main meal .Other customers who had arrived after us, had their food well before us. We had to ask a member of staff where our food was, the reply, was that it will be served "now", but again we waited and still no food .Eventually the food arrived with no cutlery .,again we had to ask for the cutlery. Part of our order was a portion of skinny fries, again we had to request for the fries. By this time we felt very disappointed and let down that our table was not serviced as the other tables were. We have been regular customers at Dylan's as a family since the initial opening at Menai Bridge. It is with regret that we felt badly let down in this instance. Due to our total disappointment, we felt that we were not prepared to pay for the meal or the service today. John & Eleri Parry.

As a family we have been visiting Dylan’s for many years and have returned time and time again always delighted with the food and service. We visited 2 months ago and we were disappointed in the level of service compared to what we were accustomed from you . We returned this week to be disappointed again ! When I mentioned the lobster was rubbery I was asked if I’d told the waiter when he checked on our food ! He didn’t . We were never approached to order deserts & had to ask at reception for the bill ! When we requested to take uneaten food home we were handed a roll of tinfoil that we couldn’t unravel , until the manager came over to help ! We will return as we love the venue and the views , But hope you’ve not got too busy and lost the quality of service that we loved .

We visit Anglesey every year and always visit Dylan's in Menai Bridge; and this year celebrated a wedding anniversary with our first visit of the year. As usual the staff were very professional and friendly. Following a recommendation we shared the fish tacos as a starter and they were fabulous with a nice 'chilli kick', although two for one person could have been a struggle. For mains we had the feather-blade of beef which simply 'fell apart' and the herb crusted hake, which my wife said was delicious, but could have done with a bit more 'cream of leek'. The puddings too were 'special' and well worth forcing down ;) Already we are looking forward to our next visit in June.

Stopped in for a hot drink to warm up after a Rib Ride (which was brilliant). After a wait at the door to see if they were open, the maitre d’ appeared and said they were open but only for drinks before 11.30 which was fine for us. We were shown to a nice table by the waterside and left with the drinks menu. 20 mins later a waiter apologised and took our order and another 10 mins later our drinks appeared. There was only one other couple having coffee in there who arrived after us. We enjoyed our hot chocolates and deliberated about staying for food but then waited for 30 mins or so watching a few staff come and go in the background with absolutely no inclination to check on their 2 customers in an otherwise empty restaurant. Finally a waitress came and took our empty cups but promptly disappeared again. I assumed she would return with the bill but after another 15 mins I noticed the other couple were waiting to pay too. In the end they managed to catch a waiter by a til to pay, having left their table but, by the time we had put our coats on and made it to the reception, the waiter had gone again. We loitered in reception and eventually the maitre d’ came over and I politely said could I offer some feedback as we’d been waiting so long and noone had checked on us or asked us to pay and pointed out that we could have easily just walked out and noone would have noticed! He went straight on the defensive saying they’d left us to enjoy the views as they didn’t need our table til 12.30…no apology, no ‘I’ll get the bill’, no ‘would you like anything else’?! I had to ask if he’d like us to pay. Suffice to say we should have noted the recent poor TA reviews. We took ourselves over the road to +39 and were greeted with a warm welcome, polite attentive staff and delicious food. Tiny gestures that cost nothing but will always make customers want to return. We won’t be returning to Dylan’s.

Don’t bother! We went here for a family meal in March. The service was slow, dishes came at different times, we were waiting for one main for a while which meant other dishes went cold. Food is small and not good quality for the amount you pay, for example the sweet potato tacos had such a small amount of filling we thought it was a salsa topping. We had one bite and it was full of lettuce. Sorry not being funny but we certainly shouldn’t be paying over £13 for lettuce tacos….! Won’t be visiting again, wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all.

I'll start with the positives.. The food was really lovely & nicely presented. Best sticky pudding I've ever had. Staff were friendly. Restaurant was quite buzy & lovely atmosphere. For the negatives We were lead into the conservatory area...fabulous views but it was very very drafty, to the point I had to keep my coat on throughout my meal, the waitress said ooo that's unusual as I've closed all the sliding doors...I'll get maintenance out. I ordered a chocolate orange Gin.....no I didn't get that it was a rhubarb & cranberry luckily I was ok with it....but not what I asked for..... We will return to Dylans, but I will make sure we are inside. We actually loved it here but the place was very cold, had it been warmer in the conservatory we'd have stayed for more drinks...

I've been to Dylans in Menai Bridge and always enjoyed it - not this time. For the first half of our visit there was a stinging blue haze hanging in the air; the kitchen extractors clearly weren't functioning properly. Fortunately this cleared for the second hour we were there. Now to the service; after taking our drinks orders we waited nearly 15 minutes for them. Later, after staff had passed our empty glasses 20 times, we managed to order some second drinks by catching their attention. The food was the main problem; minuscule starters of crab and Welsh rarebit. My pizza came as a real surprise (as others have mentioned in previous reviews); gone is the thin crusted, well-filled pizza of the past. The pizza is now about 20% smaller and my daughter mentioned that it looked like a child's portion. However, the main problem was the total lack of filling; there was a huge gap for at least an inch all round the pizza which was just fluffy dough. There were five tiny mussels on it and when I picked the mussel shells up they were so overcooked the shells turned to carbonised dust. I counted three tiny slices of red chilli. As others have mentioned, I realise the industry is having a hard time - the price of the pizzas haven't gone up but the quantity and quality has plummeted and I would rather pay more to enjoy my meal. The pudding order came and was wrong. When the hot cross bun pudding came out it was still only on the wrong side of lukewarm. Don't get me started on the price of a pint of Aspalls - £7.25, a price I would expect to pay in London. And before Lisa R replies that they would have replaced a dish, it would have been replaced with a similar disappointing dish....and no-one bothered to ask us if everything was OK either during or after the meal anyway.

My recent visit to Dylan’s was an absolute disaster due to the rude and passive-aggressive behavior from the staff, an awful way to end our holiday. Despite decent food, the unwelcoming demeanor of the servers made us feel like inconveniences rather than valued guests. Snide remarks and staffs unprofessional behaviour the entire experience, leaving us uncomfortable and disappointed. I strongly advise against dining here if basic courtesy and hospitality are important to you.

Hostess was so welcoming, arrived early and asked about local walk. She recommended a walk out to Church Island, under the Menai Bridge, and past the Druid Stones. Loved it. Back for dinner, our special seating request was honored and made a huge difference (had requested a quieter corner), starters and pot of mussels were excellent. Light dessert of pineapple special very good. Venue is a little loud, sound carries - crying children. But was fun to have dogs lounging next to owners. Contaminated food with GLASS. Awful experience. We had a big distress about finding pieces of GLASS in our dishes. Management didn't charge for food, but did not care and valued us as their customers. It's NOT normal to have GLASS in a dish.

A fantastic location with faultless hospitality, a menu that makes the best out of locally sourced produce. We have been to Dylan’s in Llandudno, Cricceith and Menai Bridge and the quality is consistently excellent in all three! We will be back, great brand and vision!

Expensive (which we didn’t mind) But totally spoilt meal because of a yapping dog throughout our stay. Hoping staff would speak to the customers with the annoying dog….

Lovely food and service. Flight of wings and crayfish to start, both which were very good. Mains of mushroom pasta, seafood linguini and moule frites. Mussels were particularly good. Finished off with cheese board and churros. Good value and lovely welcoming staff. Thank you.

Having been dozens of times before maybe this was our last visit. What used to be a good value dining experience has become too expensive. Tonight I was charged £23 for 2 glasses of fairly ordinary house wine which I think was the final straw.

Lovely restaurant good choice of drinks on arrival. Food was A1 lovely flavours and presentation through every course. Service was perfect. My only slight negative was the chairs weren't very comfy and I found myself getting restless after half an hour.

We visited Dylan's at Menai, having been there many times before. It's such a shame. The staff are great but the quality and quantity of the food is really a lot worse while the prices have increased, ridiculous money for what we had. Mainly pizza...

We stay in Cemaes Bay several times a year as we love the village and we finally got to sample a pizza at the beach. We've aways seems to miss it or we are there out of season. We went early in the week when we saw it was open and checked opening times etc and had a look at the menu. First time we ordered chips and coffees at lunch, both of which were lovely. My mum said it was the best coffee she had all week. We then tried a pizza on the friday night and took it back to the cottage - goats cheese, red onion, balsamic and it was gorgeous! Cooked perfectly with just the right amount of goats cheese. Plenty of seating if the weather permits and parking is available to eat in the car and enjoy the view. Highly recommended stop for a coffee or something to eat, with friendly staff.

Avoid this place like the plague!! Placed a £46 order tonight and I found a dead insect in the fries. Absolutely disgusting. Bottle of coke was hot? And sauces were missed off the order. Terrible.
