Dalvee Restaurant- Poulton in Wyre

Came here tonight with my family. As always the food was unreal! The staff are so lovely and the owner gives the warmest welcome. The different tastes of each dish were exceptional. This is definitely my favourite Indian in the north west. I would highly recommend the platter to get a taste of everything. Cannot wait to return here for another delicious meal.

Three of us ate at Dalvee tonight, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the food that we'd ordered. The selection of starters that we shared was fabulous, lots of flavours and textures - amazing. The main courses (one green lamb Hydrebadi curry Thali and two mixed Thalis) were equally tasty. We can't wait to return to Dalvee. The menu and quality of cooking are so different from other Indian restaurants, and we loved it!

As a big lover of Indian food rhis was the best curry I have had in a long time, something different in comparison to your big standard curry houses on the fylde coast. Really fresh produce and delicious too! Would love to see place busier, seemed a little quiet but it is Tuesday!

Not the usual type of Indian menu. I was told this restaurant is the most authentic one to be found in the Fylde and they were right. Stunning food with the strength of the curries adapted to individual tastes. Pleasant staff very helpful in explaining the menu. All in all a delightful culinary experience.

We visited for the first time tonight the atmosphere was amazing, the food portions where really good , and the host was absolutely lovely giving us recommendations of dishes and tailoring the dishes to our taste we will definitely be returning soon .😋

Enjoyed a significantly different and amazingly flavoursome type of Indian food here. Dishes are prepared to order with a personalised level of spice. Fabulously complex flavours delivered within the dishes along with lovely homemade breads. A fantastic dining experience where Mrs Dalvi was on hand to advise on any questions about her food and the menu changes every 4 weeks. Highly recommended.

Fabulous restaurant! The food is incredible, taste sensations. Everything we all ordered was to dye for and would order it all again. I love they change the menu every 4 weeks, excited to go back and try all new things!

Fantastic place for elevated Indian cuisine at really affordable prices. You could tell that a lot if care went into making every dish and playing them to be eye catching as well. Don’t skip the desserts either! They are to die for. A very nice evening out overall.

First time here will definitely be coming back food was amazing, I had Beetroot Tikki Chaat for starter, nicest starter ever had, followed by Achari Lamb so tasty. We all had different food and all left very happy.

What absolutely shines through about Dalvee is that this is not a restaurant just to feed you. This is a restaurant that wants to share its passion for all things south asian with you. To guide you with love through a gorgeous palate of spices and textures and send all things generic, thrown-together and without flavour out the door. I visited with a group of friends for the first time although the service we received made us feel like we'd been many times before. As everything on the menu looked delicious, I opted for a combination of 3 curries to sample to make the absolute most of the experience. With so many more things to try through, I'll absolutely have to return. ..and then I heard about the cooking lessons! 🤩

One of the best lamb curries I've ever had! Unlike a lot of curries in England that feel oily and heavy with an overload of spice without flavour, this had distinct notes of flavour separation with amazingly tender lamb. They can accommodate gluten intolerance too which is appreciated. Felt very welcome and was like getting a home cooked meal, definitely dont skip out on this gem:)

Dalvee is a truly outstanding gem. I absolutely love coming here to dine; everything from the drinks to the food to the service is impeccable. I cannot negatively critique the team in the slightest, and whenever I am in the area, I make a beeline for Dalvee! The food is significantly above the standards of several Michelin starred restaurants in London: beautifully presented and flavours crafted so well. The spice levels are personalised to every order, without impacting on overall flavour, and the masala mix with the thali is well rounded with the perfect kick! The portion sizes are quite generous too -- I am always full after the thali! I love the cocktail menu with twists on classics too. I really enjoy that the menu is rotational -- you get the opportunity to sample new dishes every 4 weeks or so! -- and so I have an excuse to invite myself up to Poulton to try out the latest new dishes! Massive congratulations to the owner and her team for cultivating such culinary excellence 🥰

I really wanted this to be a bit special. I went on a Tuesday and the service I hate to say was really poor. The drinks order wasn't taken for 30 mins and some of the guests had been there longer. One of the party wanted to go elsewhere. We ordered the starter for 4 and it felt like the starter for 2. There was a double shotglass sized glass with a tasty thick curry side in, but that was for 4 people? 3 donuts. Everything was good but small. We all had the sampler which was great. Enjoyed that. I understand they're looking for more staff and this was the main letdown. They need to be more attentive and professional. I will try them again some day and update but I was disappointed as the reputation is so high.

Bit quite when we visited early evening. The food was superb 👌, and I love the option for small dishes of different curries to taste. Food served in a timely manner, and the staff was very attentive and helpful.

This is a very different Indian restaurant experience from the norm - top marks for being different. The menu is limited but changes every couple of weeks - a brilliant concept, loved it. Last time I went I had the Butter Chicken and it was brilliant. Stop reading this review and book your table now!

Have dined in the restaurant on several occasions and never been disappointed. Ordered a take away this evening and WOW what an absolute delight. Ordered a little of everything sharing starter for 2 (great value btw). The flavours were unbelievable, so different from any other 'typical' Indian (which I hasten l to add I have never frequented since visiting Dalvees), main was a pork goan vindaloo (cooked spicy as you are given the option) with masala fries and garlic naan. Utterly amazing food, and I highly recommend. Thank you Seema and team. X

Today was the first time that we have ordered and we were not disappointed. Exquisite starter dishes which as the menu described was a little bit of everything. Impeccable presentation with each dish bringing a different explosion of taste. A wonderful experience and something a little bit different from all the rest.

If you haven’t been to Dalvees then you are missing out on proper authentic Indian cuisine !! Me and my partner visited Dalvee’s on Sunday during a bank holiday, we had a fantastic meal and both ordered the Dalvee Thali (platter). The platter was delicious and tasty and was the perfect size. The butter chicken was delicious as was the lamb bohra curry. The lemon rice was sooo delicious as were the lentil Dahl, rati, poppadom and naan which are included in the platter. We chose a mild-spicy curry and chose to have an added spice pot on the side which was a lovely touch and something we have never had at other Indian restaurants. The draught beer was great and we got to meet the owner who was lovely. Thanks for a fantastic evening, we will definitely be returning soon.

This is a hidden gem in Poulton. As someone who is from Indian heritage, I was in the area for a work contract and in search of some “authentic home cooked mama style cooking”. I had already tried others in the vicinity and was beginning to lose hope! Thank you Dalvee for restoring my faith that home cooked, Indian Soul Food is still on the menu. Advice to the chefs and management…. Keep on serving up the love ❤️.

The food was divine can't fault in any way, in a different class to rest!!. so many ingredients and natural not like many others all ladled with colourings and bland. Went for a meal week before and couldn't stop thinking about it. Saw they was on here and this time chose some vegetarian dishes, authentic real curry. Highly recommend

The most overpriced Indian I’ve ever eaten, £20+ for a main that tastes like it’s watered down from the local takeaway, not for me - save your money and go to the maya or lemon tree

Food was bland, overwhelmed with clove and hugely disappointing. Naan was dry and no evidence of garlic. Expensive given the poor taste and quality. The guy who delivered was lovely so credit to him.

Dalvee is an absolute hidden gem! My friend and I picked Dalvee as they had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options - we were spoilt for choice. We shared the masala papad which tasted very fresh and then we each had a Dalvee thali platter. Incredible tasting food and really great value! The service was great and all the staff were so friendly! Will definitely be coming back!

Little Indian gem of Poulton. Authentic Indian food in a cosy atmosphere with excellent service. We called in on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised with their live music offering that started at 8 pm ! Would recommend the chaat, vindaloo, and 3 in 1 taster meal. Now, a regular to this establishment - which always offers exciting new changes to their menu.

I didn't know what to expect when seeing the menu at Dalvee as I could only recognise a couple of the dishes, so a part of me was curious to try some new things. I opted for 'a bit of everything' as a starter and honestly, all of it was excellent. For mains, I had the curry platter which included 3 individual curries with plenty of extras and again this was all exceptional. The food on offer here does not compare to your 'average' Indian restaurant and the standard of food is really high. The service was great too and the look of the restaurant has a really pleasant but individual appearance. If you want the same 'usual' Indian cuisine catered to British tastes, you know where to find it but if you want authentic food a few grades above in taste and quality, then I would highly recommend Davlee. I was told the menu changes frequently and this place has opened up my mind on what Indian cuisine can offer! Booked to come again in a couple of weeks and really looking forward to it!

Hands down the best Indian food I have ever eaten in the UK. You can really tell that the owner is passionate about what she does and puts a lot of love into her cooking! Also to have that personal touch from the chef during our meal to come and ask us if we were enjoying it shows just how much she cares! Honestly this place is unreal, if you are a lover of Indian food you will be blown away! Everything about this place is different and totally unlike your typical run of the mill curry house… the dishes all have different distinctive flavours and meat was super tender unlike most places where all you get is a bland red sauce and dry chicken breast. Vegetarian options were very good too and even though I am not a veggie the veg tikkis and vegetable curries I tried on the platter were both outstanding. Highly highly recommend!

We love Dalvee’s because the menu is unique and changed frequently. This means that you get to try something new each time you visit. The trio dish is a great option. The staff are all lovely and make you feel very welcome as does Seema when she gets chance to take a break from her gorgeous cooking

Go, the food is amazing - 3 of us had the indulge your taste buds platter - a little bit of everything, great way to get a taste of all the food. Butter chicken, rice and masala chips - delicious. The dessert, get some, it's so so good!

Brilliant meal, great atmosphere and not expensive

Had a meal with friends here last week. Was sat in the warm cosy corner upstairs by the bar and the waitress turned the volume of the speaker down so we could chat and catch up a bit easier. Shared the starter for 2 between 3 of us, it was delightful - lamb meatballs were incredible. Then we each had a Thali - all delicious. Thank you for the great evening.

Very disappointed after reading so many great reviews and knowing they’ve won awards. The overhead lighting is so bright it’s hard to relax and the table placement isn’t great. The service was pretty poor - I really don’t enjoy being made to feel like a burden or a pain when I’m a paying customer and should be enjoying my experience. Lastly the food was okay but oily popadoms are not too appealing. The Korean cauliflower is a very small portion.. about three bites. The dal is tasty, veg curry doesn’t have many veggies in it and is grey? Chicken curry was good but again not understanding the high reviews as it wasn’t especially amazing. I think this place could use some improvements and unfortunately I won’t be going again.

Proper authentic Indian cuisine. I have eaten here several times with my wife and we Loved every item. Specially the lamb curry. Each had its own distinct flavour. Not to mention that all the meat are Halal. The restaurant also changes their menu frequently to keep things interesting. Highly recommend.

I'd been searching on the Fylde Coast for a great Indian restaurant experience and had been left dissapointed - until now. Myself and two other friends experienced a great Indian food treat with their festive (Christmas) menu offering. The curries are cooked to your taste and liking i.e mild, med or hot...which is very rare, as it's "there you go its med/hot" in most other Indian restaurants I've been too. I've never been a fan of Indian desserts, but on this occasion Dalvee exceeded our expectations and delivered a trio of exquisite festive desserts. My search is over, and the Dalvee is now my go to Indian Restaurant on the Fylde Coast. Well done guys, keep up the great work - it's an easy 5 star review.

First visit and could not be more impressed. The mixed starter platter was a revelation. The service was perfect, friendly engaging and welcoming. Cannot recommend highly enough. This will be an experience we wish to repeat regularly.

Wanted something different to eat this evening. So after our daughter's parents evening we went to Dalvee to celebrate. This DID NOT DISAPPOINT 😍. Festive menu was being trialed - which is amazing, try the ‘nest’ 👍. Food was exquisite, carefully prepared and Seema ,(Asian chef of the year 2023 no less) checked on us, asking about the menu, describing the ingredients and sharing insights into how to cook paneer. The surrounding are authentic, the colours, music and smells are just 💜. We forget about this gem on our doorstep, but I urge you to make a visit, you won’t be disappointed x

I came from London and I must say that Poulton are extremely lucky to have such a high quality restaurant with such affordable prices. The service was amazing, and the concept was great (that you could try a trio of curry’s if you couldn’t choose one). The quality of the food was delicious - top two if not the best Indian food I have had. The cocktails were also good and 2 for £15 which is a great price. I cannot wait to return, hopefully for a cooking class.

IS IT DALVEE DALVES OR DALVI'S even Google cant make its mind up. We always like to try new places. I am sad to say this isn't one we will be frequenting again. Firstly it can't make its mind up if it is Indian, Thai or Fast food. Secondly, the atmosphere for which there was none, that might be because we were the only couple in the place on a Friday evening. (Not a great advertisment) Thirdly the food, portion sizes very small, so for the price paid, very expensive. Fresh and Authentic???? Hmm this one is biggy for me. The chef might have looked the part in his whites, but I heard the microwave ping at least 8 times before our food came, and the biryani was obviously pinged to death. Lastly, you really need to get your website photos sorted, they depict half the photos from Berties cafe... this is a bit of false advertising. Save your money people.

I love this restaurant. It's the best Indian food for miles. It's customer service is fantastic & it's a great but fairly small restaurant with a great atmosphere.

I've just had my first visit to Dalvee where I've gone from not being a big fan of Indian cuisine in general to thinking this might be my new favourite restaurant of all time! For your first time i recommend you try the "can't make your mind up" dishes (essentially tapas Dalvee style) ...just wow! Every single dish was flavoursome, divine and almost impossible to choose a favourite between them. The staff were fabulously efficient, friendly and helpful and the chef/owner an absolute delight with a genuine interest in everything being just right. Absolutely perfect place in every way.

Myself and my partner had never been to this restaurant before but had heard lots of good things about it. So, tonight we were unexpectedly child free and thought we’d give it a go, and, oh my goodness I’m so glad we did!! I had a starter of turkey style chicken cutlet which was so tasty, the homemade chilli jam with it was spicy but delicious. I then had the dalvi thali platter with 3 different curries, srilankan fish curry, butter chicken and shikari lamb curry. Each curry was divine and came with a little pot of extra chilli so you can spice up each dish if you prefer. My partner had the dhamaka chicken to start, the chicken was buttery soft and almost melted in your mouth. He then had the shikari lamb curry and asked for it spicy, the lamb just fell apart, it was so tasty. Everything from start to finish was amazing and the staff are so helpful. We will definitely be returning!! Thank you Seema and staff! 🥰 (Sorry, forgot to take pictures but will do next time)

The food was sublime and we loved the option “indulge your tastebuds” where you can choose 3 different curries and create your own level of heat with the separate spice mix. Standout service and so lovely to spend time talking to Seema about her philosophy around cooking. A meal to remember for all the right reasons. Highly recommended.

We are fans of Dalvis’and always enjoy the food there, either dining in the restaurant or having a takeaway. Tonight, I discovered that DALVIS’ was on Just Eat so I ordered a takeaway to be delivered which saved me having to collect it. Imagine my surprise when I answered the door and there was Seema herself delivering our meal ! It was like having your dinner delivered by Gordon Ramsey but without the swearing !! The food was great, as usual, Thanks Seema.

Great service and recommendations from our waiter (who was delightful), we opted for 'a bit of everything' to start followed by a curry platter each. The food was fresh, hot and beautifully presented, an absolute taste sensation. As well as great food and service it was also really good value. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Our first visit and we were not disappointed. The Staff are friendly and helpful,with the Menu. Seem happy in their tasks. The food was a nice experience and the flavours were quite exciting and very pleasing indeed. The Sweet menu is nice to explore and we enjoyed them The cleanliness is there to be clearly seen and glad that we found this venue. The Owner bid us goodnight and we hope to return.

Authentic Indian food. I ordered the combination of 3 curries thali. The food was delicious and very flavoursome, mine came with a spice pot to add to the dishes. We had a beautiful meal with top class service on Saturday. I was a fantastic atmosphere, brilliant and authentic food that was out of this world. Cooked fresh and to a bespoke spice for every guest (with options to add extra heat if wanted), the flavours were insane! We will most certainly be back. We loved it so much so… we bought your book to learn more and that’s full of hints and tips too! Thank you for a wonderful evening and such attentive staff! A recipe for Afghan chicken is all that’s missing from the book ;) Highly recommend the tasting platter too to try lots of hits from the menu!

We dined last night at the restaurant for the first time and we’re blown away by the wonderful food, clearly cooked with love. These were the best curries I have ever tasted, I would strongly recommend the pork vindaloo, the lamb, the potato dish and the ravioli inspired pudding, all absolutely to die for. The separate spice dish meant I could season the dishes to my own palate, the vindaloo would normally be too spicy for some but not when you can season to how you like it. The welcome was warm and friendly, the food was pure genius and we will be back again very soon.
