Clissold Park Tavern in Islington

The team at Clissold Park Tavern made our night. We had book an outdoor space for 50 people and had 40 on the night. The party was at the beginning of March, which could have been a problem, but the rain held off and the heaters in the cubbin keep us warm. The staff were fantastic, they discussed with me throughout the evening when to bring out food and where happy to reduce or increase quantities as required which meant there was very little waist. At 10.30 when the garden closed our guests, were still have a great time, so we move the party in side the pub. Throughout the team were helpful and accommodating. We went for pizza and sharing boards which were lovey and the price fare. A big thank to all for making our evening so wonderfully memorable.

There was a group of 8 of us. All enjoyed the food, particularly the pizzas, the service at the bar was good and the food came in good time.

Had a lovely meal with friends sitting outside- very quick service, staff knowledgeable about gluten free options and delicious food. Staff busy but were warm in every interaction with us despite fact a full garden and pub.

Really appalled at this pub. I found a large semi alive grasshopper In my salad. A waiter saw my reaction to it, saw the grasshopper himself and called his manager over. The manager was rude, and say I’d be refunded. This didn’t happen, despite me sending 3 emails and leaving a voicemail. Can I finally get my money back please!! This was over a month ago!

Midweek pint, surprised to be charged an extra 10% fee at 6pm for the pleasure! Sneaky… didn’t realise until afterwards, presumably work on the assumption people don’t notice who have paid contactless

Stopped at the door and asked if I had a booking. I said yes, I was meeting my friends. Doorman then said I needed to call my friends to come and collect me (already quite hostile and rude) my phone had died on the way to the pub so I explained this but could see my friends and pointed them out. He shrugged and said they need to come and get you. I said can I not just go over and show you I know them. He said nope. I stood there waving for about 5 minutes (they couldn't hear me. I wasshoutingabut was loud and they were at the end of the garden) eventually one of them spotted me on the way to the toilet and came over to me. We then ordered food. There was 5 of us, some veggie. Food arrived after about an hours weight (it was busy so accpeted it, although other pubs, deal with the busy Sundays fine) food was dry, flavourless and a third into my meal, found a couple of long bits of hair. Explained. They said they would replace it. Weighted 30ish minutes, it still hadn't arrived. By this time everyone was finished. We weren't enjoying the environment, the food and drinks were expensive even for London, so wanted to leave. I explained we were leaving and order had taken to long could I please cancel it and pay up. They said that was fine (no apology by the way). Then bill arrived. They had charged me for my meal. I explained I didn't have the food. They said would have not been charged if I had not asked for a replacement. Eventually spoke with manager and got them to take it off and then asked for the service charge to be taken off because of everything and they looked at me in disgust as they took it off. When we left, saw the doorman being rude with other people about getting there party to come and collect them at the door. He's not always at the door as see him chatting to staff away from entrance sometimes, so it's lucky about who gets in with hassle or harassment and who doesn't. Very hostile and militant for a pub in London. Plenty of amazing pubs around the park nearby with amazing food and nicer decor. Please go there. I'm newly local so trying out different places and will never step foot in there again. Arguably the worst pub experience I've had in the 5 years I've lived in London.

Popped in for a quick pint for the first time as I was in the area. Beautiful garden with lots of TVs to watch sport, great selection of drinks, many local, prompt service at the bar, all let down by charging me an optional 10% service charge without my knowledge. It was bar service not table service.

Visited on bank holiday weekend, outside seating area nicely done and feels private with plants between benches. Had vegetarian platter to start followed by pizza/chicken Milanese for main - all were absolutely delicious!

I've been to the CPT many times, and I've always had a great time. However, the last time I went I bit into A PIECE OF GLASS in my pizza and BROKE MY TOOTH. I hesitated writing this review, as I was awaiting an email from management/owners, but given that it's been three weeks and they never responded to my multiple emails, here we are. I can't imagine how a chunk of glass large enough to break my tooth ended up in the pizza, but it did. When I showed the waiter, he seemed slightly concerned and told me he would speak to his manager. He came back and offered to take the pizza off my bill, and give me a free half pizza. Needless to say I wasn't in the mood to give it another try... Oh, and they made me pay for my beer too. Eat the pizza at your own risk... That £10 pizza turned into an expensive dentist bill and a day of missed work.

The pub has done a fantastic job of covering each table in the outside area. Lovely pizzas, great selection of beers. Incredibly Covid safe. Staff were a little hard to get hold of for table service, but hey, we’re all still getting used to the new normal. Incredibly helpful and polite young woman clearing glasses with a beautiful headscarf - I totally exempt her from my comment, she was lovely and attentive.

Went here for my friends birthday after booking in advance. Off the bat they were extremely helpful sorting a full invoice over email, and then once there the service was super quick and the staff very friendly. Highly recommend for meeting up with friends in their huge beer garden!

I find this place excellent to visit with its atmosphere and food and range of drinks and its prices are good

I’m a local that has been coming here years. They have gotten that greedy they now put a service charge on pints! £6.70 for a pint!!!!! We have no choice to go to the bar ourselves at the moment and they have exploited that for more gain! You are not a club in leister square, you are a local pub, stop ripping people off. Myself, my friends and my family will not step foot in here again.

A nasty ginger woman was exceedingly rude to us and other customers, she didn’t smile once and had such a smug attitude when saying we couldn’t bring a bike in. Will not be returning because of her terrible attidue

Charged us 2 extra drinks plus service charge and wouldn't give us a refund or even credit. The male staff were rude, aggressive, and inflexible when I brought this to their attention. Wouldn't risk going here if you want to be treated fairly.

Really delcious and reasonably priced pizza, nice interiors and great beer garden. However, really unfriendly staff which really lowers the tone.

We went here for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday. Lots of young families here with children. We all had pizzas and enjoyed our visit. Plenty of tables and benches in the garden.
