Lovely Chinese takeaway plenty of variety and good food

Best Chinese I've ever had ! The lady working behind the counter let me off as I was £1 short too!

Rude and average food turned up just after they opened, the lady who was the oldest took my order and was rude to me, food was average but it's all about the experience, won't be going again

Thought we'd try a different Chinese takeaway from our usual one in Aberystwyth. Well what can I say.... Fantastic food, fresh ,tasty great portion size and piping hot 🔥. We don't live in Bow Street, but It's definitely worth the 10/15 minute drive from Aberystwyth. The meal is still hot when we get home. The lady taking the orders is very friendly. We will definitely be a new regular customer ( delicious! 🍜😋 😍)

Have been before and food was amazing this time not much so sweet and sour sauce didn’t seem sweet and crispy chilli beef had no flavour but also had sweet and sour sauce which didn’t want on, but like I said the time we had before was 5 stars.

We ordered food yesterday. Our order got messed up, Wrong food was made and when we called back, we were told that there will be additional charge to get the order right. The quality of the food was horrible, anyone hardly ate anything. We only ordered from here as Fusion king was closed, never again. Please save your money and go somewhere else.

Had a very nice Singapore vermicelli. Lady who served me was very friendly.

Staying locally we passed the takeaway and called in for menus. I called later to place order and service was brilliant. When I collected the food, I was surprised to be offered extra cans of drinks included with the meal. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was amazing! Hot and plentiful for the price. We'll definitely be visiting if we stay nearby again

We found this local Chinese whilst staying at Brynowden Holiday Park. We drove up, as sadly it doesn't deliver but is only 5 minutes away. Service was quick and efficient, lovely lady served me. Food was delicious, we got house special curry, bbq ribs, chips and chow mein. All of which was freshly cooked. Thank you very much!

Always a great welcome from the staff! Had the China House starter box - bbq ribs, spring rolls, prawn toast, crispy seaweed, chilli sauce & satay sauce, a king prawn with mushrooms, king prawn chow mien, absolutely brilliant! 10 mins from ordering, tea a Monday! Food was perfect, everything, prawn were huge, large portions, loved it. Cannot fault this place, weekend VERY busy, but worth the wait! Arbenig iawn, Diolch.

This is not a terrible review of China House more an observation about Chinese Takeaway food. Last night we ordered on the strength of their reviews a Kung Po chicken fried rice chips and crackers ( crackers were free ). The food was hot but was the standard battered frozen chicken served in every Chinese purchased from wholesalers and used in sweet and sour chicked etc. There wasn't any spice or sauce to speak of and generally disappointing. This Takeaway is typically of hundreds across the country which all serve the exact same menu heated up in a wok for authenticity. My review of China House is it's the same as the rest.

Found this Chinese on driving past it while on local caravan site, staff in the shop very helpful and polite. We ordered and was only a short wait time until it was made, we went back our caravan to eat, meals where all lovely and tasted great, is one of the better Chinese takeaways I have had. Definitely recommend

Fantastic food freshly made, definitely will return when back in the area. Well as promised returned a year on, was looking forwards to a Chicken curry, freshly cooked however lacking in flavour or heat. CASH ONLY !

Ordered a number of different dishes to take away, whole order was ready in 12 minutes. Service was friendly and efficient, the premises is clean and pleasant and obviously well kept. The food was really tasty, cooked well with plenty of meat in the dishes. Really pleased will definitely be visiting again.

Based on the reviews on TripAdvisor, we ordered and collected four items from China House. When we got back we opened two of the meals and put them on a plate. They were fine. The next two meals (for me), mixed vegetable chow mein and kunk po king prawns, were then opened. When the chow mein was placed on the plate, I noticed that there were chunks of meat mixed with the noodle and very little vegetable. When I checked the kung po, it was prawns in batter with sweet and sour sauce. Both dishes were wrong. I don’t eat meat and haven’t done for almost fifty years so it was really lucky that I spotted the meat in the chow mein. We couldn’t be bothered to drive all the way back to the shop to return them and so we agreed that I would have my brother’s egg fried rice and he the chow mein. I decided to eat the sweet and sour despite not particularly liking sweet and sour. Accidents happen and, normally, I wouldn’t post a review unless it was annoying. When my brother rang the shop to inform them, the lady at the shop was very reluctant to accept that there had been a mistake and argued with my brother. Eventually, she repented but only after three rather strong requests for an apology. We did not want any recompense, only for someone to say sorry and apologise for their mistake. We should not have to ask three times. If you, like me, do not eat meat then make sure that you check your order very carefully and don’t expect an automatic apology from the shop if it is wrong.

Had takeaway as staying in local area. Great menu with lots of varied choice. All the dishes we had were hot and tasted fresh with lots of flavour. The portion sizes are very generous too. Friendly staff on phone too.

A great Chinese takeaway. Very very busy. The food is delicious and tasty. Will definitely have another takeaway. We had seaweed, salt and pepper spare ribs, deep fried shredded beef, green thai chicken curry, fried rice. Complimentary prawn crackers and two fizzy drinks.

I went and ordered a takeaway for myself and my wife. They had a great very varied selection of food on the menu and we opted for the vegetarian set meal for two. They were very busy but despite this I didn’t have to wait long and when I got the food back to our caravan park at Bryn Owen, Borth, it was still hot. The food was delicious! As vegetarian’s, they had very good options to choose from. The staff were very friendly too. Well worth a visit.

Refried chips, tasteless food, tried twice, hoping 2nd order would be better, but sadly not. Please make fresh chips and add more flavour.

This used to be the best Chinese in the area. The quality has recently dipped.... I have visited twice this past few months and the ingredients are poorer quality eg fatty ribs and the sauces have become watery and bland. No free bottle of pop anymore despite spending over £30 like you used to. Can’t risk them again until I hear things are back to how they add to be. A shame.

I have been china house many many times and continue to go as the service is good the food is really good very handy if you live in bowstreet we have needed a good takeaway for a while. Very happy I will go again soon as easy cjeap quick food when you need it really handy thanks guys

Really lovely service, food is spot on

We have a treat from here every few weeks. The food is always piping hot and delicious. Slowly working our way through the menu. I loved the sweat and sour King prawns and the spring rolls come in a pack of four. My husband had the pepper wings and he really enjoyed them. The portions are brilliant and the veg are crunchy and tasty. It's a cash only Chinese so don't get caught out. If you do the spar down the road provides cash at the post office till. If you haven't already been here pay it a visit. The staff are lovely always happy to help with queries if your not sure. Very friendly and very polite to. You can ring your order in first if you want and you will be given a time to collect. Have put photos of the menu underneath this. Enjoy

Had a takeaway tonight from here for 2 couples. We had 4 pancake rolls 2 beef curries,1 house special curry and chicken szechuan egg fried rice,plain chow mein and salt pepper chips. It was delicious,no grease freshly cooked and hot. Would highly recommend and will use again.
