Just visited for the first time and I will definitely be back. Food was amazing & service was outstanding. Beef Steak curry was out of this world, melt in the mouth. Would highly recommend.

Portion size has shrunk considerably, I had salt and chilli chicken. Chicken fried rice was quite sloppy and tastless. Prices have increased a lot as well as reduced portion sizes. It's a shame because the food used to be really tasty. Hopefully they will up their game soon. I doubt I'll be ordering again at least until I hear some better reviews.

Worst green curry I've ever had. This place cooks like that hate food and the customers that come in here. Honestly don't know how they're still in business. £70 for two people 🥴

I used to love the food here. I had heard it went downhill since changing owners but i wanted to try for myself. I mean, can it really be that bad!?! Yes! It’s the worst Chinese meal I’ve ever had! I’m not a fussy eaten and it was inedible! Also, prices have gone up a lot and portion sizes have got much smaller! they also don’t give you free prawn crackers. Just a small touch but combined that with poor quality overpriced food, it’s not a great experience.

Food was terrible. Salt and chilli chicken and chips were just plain chicken and chips with crispy onions, no additional flavour, really disappointing. Curry sauce is extremely watery and has very little taste. I’d urge you to avoid and try other local options as this has ruined my Saturday night lol

Heard good reviews of this place since the owners changed so thought it would give it a go. Glad I did the service was fantastic especially key and Sharmain. Will be returning again soon with the family for a birthday celebration. Food was good much better than the lady time I went. The new owner seems to be putting the effort in and making all the changes that were required. Would recommend.

I used to go to chin chin religiously and never had a bad meal, but the last few times I’ve been the quality has really changed and tonight I was actually bordering on asking for my money back.. £27 got a fried rice chips salt and chilli chicken and curry sauce. Used to go and get the chips in a generous insulated bag meant to keep the heat in and the chips crispy but tonight we had bearly cooked chips in a soggy wee white paper bag they were disgusting. Chicken fried rice tasted of nothing- again rice was just cooked and the salt a chilli chicken was a decent portion but tasted of nothing and was dryer than the Sahara! And for nearly £30 we didn’t even get prawn crackers!! Will not be back.

I saw on Facebook that the restaurant changed hands around 2 weeks ago. Me and my partner went and what an improvement ! Menu hasn’t changed just quality of food has improved drastically. Would highly recommend !

Don’t even bothering ordering on the weekend - food is over priced, tastes bland, low quality, and is always far too dry (rice , chicken etc) Man in charge is rude, never has a smile on his face & has never been accommodating! Only cash - fine if you told me before standing deciding & ordering. Ridiculous I’ve lived in the village for 10+ years and used to love this place - all went down hill after chun sold it on. Would never recommend - such a disappointment compared to what it used to be

Well that was grim. We ordered from the gluten free menu …….. Chicken chow mein, fried rice and curry sauce. The chicken chow mein was so bland. The tiny bits of chicken were tasteless and there were no onions or bean sprouts in with the noodles. The fried rice ….. as per the chow mein. The curry sauce at least tasted of something. Being gluten free is tough but this is our worst experiment yet . £16.50 ! Supper beckons

Bought a deal for a 2-courser at £20. It was immediately clear we’d have a few supplements. Shared meat spring rolls and salt and chilli ribs which cost an extra £2.50 - given we only got 3 it wasn’t worth the extra and dishes could have been hotter. I had 2 pints of lager at 5.20 each and my wife had a can of Diet Coke at 2.50 so not too bad. We shared mains of sizzling chicken satay (extra £2) and Mongolian beef costing an extra £3. Even the fried rice cost an extra £1. That said, the plates were warm and the food was of a good quality. The biggest disappointment was that a family of 3 came in and were sat right beside us. The restaurant wasn’t busy so there was no need for this and made us feel very uncomfortable. This one thing alone would stop me returning.

The quality of the food for the price is a complete rip-off. The food was so bad and we walked out of there nearly paying £70 for two people. They didn't hardly have any of the drinks listed on the menu and I couldn't believe the cost. Will not be back until something changes there. We need some better quality food here if this is gonna be the only restaurant in town.

Brilliant Chinese and the friendlies staff that can't do enough for you if you like your beers it has one of the finest selections of German beers outside of Glasgow

I bought a Groupon deal for 2 courses for three people. The selection of starters were limited, and more so if you wanted to keep within the price limited . The choice of mains was better. We ordered spring rolls. They were like the bulk bag you get in Iceland etc - made mainly of thick pastry with very little filling. For the main course we all got Kung po chicken. It was nice enough but half was made up of peppers and onions. The portion size was about half a normal portion. Fried rice was £1 extra. A bottle of water was ,£2.50. I wasn't keen on the interior decor - but that's personal taste. The young waitresses were lovely - they done a great job and deserved 5* for their great service. Overall, I'd not go back and wouldn't recommend. Maybe if it wasn't a Groupon deal it would be better

My wife and me order 2 curry’s, 2 fried rice, chips, spare ribs. The Order was £40 which itself bit steep in price compared to what is in the area. The chips and spare ribs where nice. But the 2 curry’s where horrible and for the price we paid even worse and our main meal. Absolutely no flavour at all in the curry’s and the rice, curry’s sause was water no thickness at all just pure watery, with the plain tast of chicken and rice blan. Taste homemade and could of done it myself that bad. Won’t be ordering again way those prices for a curry that doesn’t even taste authentic. Only ordered as usual takeaway one was closed. No wounder we don’t go elsewhere when it’s closed.

Best curry in this area. Lovely and friendly staff. And love the decor. Was there on a date night with my gf and she absolutely loved it.

First trip here and food was nice, service good but tap water with a splash of cordial extortionate. Popped in early on a Sunday afternoon. Partner had set menu for £12.95 for two courses and I had noodles. Food was nice- maybe slightly overpriced for portion size but service was good. Would have considered going back till we got the bill and saw that we had been charged £5.40 for two glasses of tap water with a splash of cordial. The waitress went to question the manager as I thought it must be a mistake but the manager said it was the correct price.

Visited for a takeaway and ordered a Half Crispy Duck. Compared to 3 other local Chinese takeaways, the portion size was very disappointing for half duck and was over cooked. Also got the mixed starter and also disappointed in portion size for price paid.

Booked my table reservation, stated that it would be a Groupon reservation as was given to me as a gift , reservation was accepted , first time at Chin Chin, cosy & attractive little restaurant, ordered drinks then we got menu , said to waitress who was lovely & attentive that it’s a Groupon set menu , then told we could not use our Groupon deal on this night , I responded that I booked table & stated I was using Groupon deal , but was turned down ! What do you do when you have been seated & ordered drinks - Utterly embarrassing!! Ultimately my other family member had to pay the bill , if this was set nights for Groupon deals then this should have been picked up at when booking the reservation?? !! SHAME as food & service & setting was lovely ☺️

Awful food - every single thing I ordered was terrible and full of both salt and MSG. The only edible thing was the prawn crackers. The waiter (possibly owner?) was incredibly rude too. Would never return - so disappointing.

1st visit on a groupon deal. Nice wee resturant. Food was very good, good size portions & piping hot. Wide range of dishes to choose from even on the groupon deal. Drink prices good. Some staff could do with a customer care course (a bit surly) hence 4 stars. Outwith the offer I feel it would be a bit expensive.

Mine and my families absolute favourite Chinese restaurant! We often choose Chin Chin for a birthday/celebration dinner and the food is always superb, prices are very decent (especially when ordering from the set menu), portions are a great size, atmosphere is always friendly and inviting, and above all, the service is always outstanding! Staff are very attentive, warm and friendly. Would give it 6 stars if I could!

You cannot get a better Chinese restaurant for miles. Food absolutely amazing. Staff great, and Simon couldn't do more to make your visit any better, attentive and exemplary host.

Gr8 small restaurant with gr8 food selection, the soup is like a meal in its self, and the prawn crackers are the best I have ever tasted.

Received a birthday gift a voucher for a meal , when seated showed a lovely waitress the voucher. She explained what we could have and circled on the menu what we couldn't. At the end the owner/ manager approached and literally ranted at us re Groupon conditions table times showing the voucher etc .The table next to us heard everything it was awful .my partner became upset however he continued to scold us .we have been going here for years and will never be back .As it was a gift there was little information on the voucher however the manager was unwilling and unhelpful terrible experience .

Haven’t been in ages we impromptu tonight. We enjoyed a lovely meal, great service, beautiful surroundings. There was a real buzz about tonight too.

Cosy but drafty on bar side of restaurant. Servers are v.attentive and pleasant , out to please and carry out every request gracefully and polite. Made to feel a valued customer. Food authentic Chinese and tasty. Toilet spotless and prices mud range. Atmospheric with unusual decor. Worth a visit or two.

I've been to Chin Chin a few times and have never been disappointed. I love the food and the staff are like family. If your having the meringue get the small one as they are massive.

Honestly the worst chinese meal I've ever had. When we arrived the waitress came over with prawn crackers and a curry sauce dip which was the best part of my meal. I had prawn toast . £5.80 for 4 small triangle s with no dip. Hubby got meat spring rolls, this was one spring roll halfed in two with a chilli dip. Mains came. I had salt and chilli chicken. This was like chicken nuggets with loads of crumbs on a plate, it was dry and disgusting, I ordered noodles to go with this and I can honestly say they were the worst noodles I've ever had they were dry with no flavour whatsoever so I put some soy sauce on them to try to improve them but they were still disgusting. My husband ordered chicken curry and paid 50p extra for it to be extra hot and what whoever made it put a spoonful of chilli powder on top for him to mix it in. I wish I would have taken photos of how bad this meal was. My husband moved some dishes to give me some curry sauce and knocked a glass of water into my salt n chilli chicken plate, I had only ate one piece and the waitress came over took the meal away and asked me if I wanted chicken wings. She left with the plate but didn't dry the table or take the wet paper placemat away so I had to sit at a wet table till hubby finished his meal. This wad a groupon deal meal for two and everything we picked had a supplement to pay and the food I received wasn't even worth the supplement. The place was empty apart from us and another couple on a Sunday night. No wonder. We won't be back. It was shocking

Nice restaurant, very good service and attention from the staff. Must say I was a bit disappointed with some of the food. Spare ribs, very little meat on any of them and the vegetable spring rolls were terrible. Expected a bit more and had better for the £50 price tag.

Had a lovely experience at chin chin,staff are lovely,food was delicious and service 5 star would certainly go again.

Enjoyable meal but the very friendly waitresses were what made it great. Make sure that you know that the Groupon voucher is only up to a certain limit so some more expensive things you pay a small supplement.

Nothing amazing got a munchie box too much salt and msg the curry sauce was quite watery.

Found this Chinese restaurant on groupen @ 22 pounds for two & you receive a 2 course meal sounds alright it was a party of 6 people but ended up 5 so I got told by staff on phone they would do extra sides for the person that was missing!!.. OK I thought fair enough not there fault & good of them to do that!!... from there our starters got giving out all nice' asked for chicken satay not got told it was on skewers so no rice served with it when asked they pointed out a rice that was with a other meal so double up on it then & the Singapore chow mein was a rather small portion compared to any where else left most of it as it was tasteless & to finish it got a bill for the sides that I got told was free!!... got manager on phone he explained then don't make profit out groupen told him well you signed up for it go off it then,tried to explain situation of what happened but got told some extra cost well.have that written on menu or clearly said before choose meal!!.. as the story goes not all that looks good deal ain't be very carefull on groupen & this is the first time this has happened to me with groupen anyway I won't be back not worth the journey or cost had better & more cost effective

How great to get back to a favourite restaurant after so long. Food outstanding and excellent service. Only disappointment was to hear that people are booking and not turning up. Hope they read this and realise how shameful that is for a small business

Best Chinese I've had in a long time.

Fab chinese restaurant and takeaway run by the most friendly and helpful staff. Have a coeliac menu and produce gluten free dishes that taste superb and are safe for me to eat. It's hard to trust many catering places but I trust the chefs and counter staff at Chin Chins

Great service. Prawn crackers with curry sauce when arrived. Best barbecue spare ribs I have ever had as starter and crispy beef main course was really good but too much, they offered to box it without needing to be asked. Rest of party enjoyed their chicken curry and sweet and sour chicken. 2 courses £12 Monday to Thursday well worth it.

We decided to try this place during the “eat out to help out” as I’d planned on trying it just before lockdown. I had heard good things and really hoped it would live up to them. It did! Our food was honestly delicious! Fantastic quality Chinese food. I had combination satay and it’s came sizzling to the table. Large portion and every bite was brill. The beef was tasty and tender, chicken was breast cooked to perfection as were the prawns, Hubby had crispy shredded beef and raves about his too. The salt & chilli chips are so good you literally can’t eat any others now. Fresh , light & fluffy potato and the salt & chilli was awesome. Decor is beautiful and every staff member was friendly and attentive. The desserts are fantastic too btw! Presentation is 10 out of 10 !

Una gran porción. ¡Ella no está acostumbrada a eso! . . . . .Tuve el especial de langostinos con salsa de ostras de jengibre y brandy. Una vez más, ¡una gran porción, con muchas gambas grandes! , Lo recomiendo.Debo decir que me impresionó. ¡Incluso tenga una pequeña salsa de curry con galletas de gambas al principio! .El personal fue muy amable, todos preguntaron si queríamos llevarnos el resto a casa. .Buen toque.Al irse, al gerente le preocupaba que mi esposa dejara su plato principal, ¡no quería que ella no se fuera sin una razón para dejar la comida! .Gerente muy impresionante! .
