Chaseville Fish and Chips in Enfield

The best fish and chips in Enfield in my opinion. The gentlemen who own the shop are very polite, and always cook my cod to order, I’d rather wait 10min and have a freshly fried cod. The chips are chunky fluffy and always fresh, never ever refried. There is also a lovely lady who works on weekends, whom my children refer to as “aunty” as she always offers them a lollipop and a “fruit shot”. Food is fresh, the large cod is massive (hangs over my dinner plates at home), basically best fish and chips this side of London.

We drove down from Oxford to visit family and decided to get fish and chips for us all as we had previously used Chaseville when we lived in the area. We phoned through the order to be picked up 15 mins before we arrived and it was ready just being dished up as I entered. We ordered 2 x large cod, 1 reg cod and 1 wing of skate (we were given 2) , 3 pickled onions (we were given 4) and 2 gherkins. On mentioning we had driven down from Oxford we were offered free drinks of which declined gratefully and some mushy peas which we love so we agreed and were given 2 large pots and we were only charged for the order we had put in and not all the extras that was supplied. The food was piping hot and the best fish and chips we have had in a very long time. The staff were all friendly and professional and we will return on our next visit. Thank you for making our evening such a lovely occasion.
