Caldera in Hackney

Caldera truly made my birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, and the bottomless margarita option was a real highlight – not only was it incredibly tasty, but you get so much for your money! The staff were exceptional, looking after us with such warmth and attentiveness. They were all incredibly friendly and genuinely engaged with us throughout the evening. I can't praise them enough. We were a large group, but everything ran seamlessly. I will definitely be returning!

Visited for family gathering. Wasn't impressed at all to be fair menu too small my starter was bland and tastless. The lamb what there was of it was very tough and very overpriced cutlery blunt so had to wrestle my dish I have eaten much tastier Mexican? Food

We had 4 out of the 5 of the tacos on the menu, all were delicious. Wonderfully balanced flavours on a level with the best we’ve had in California. Refreshing sea bass ceviche, subtly charred chicken wings and tangy grilled corn kernels with chipotle aioli, all get a big thumbs up from us. Washed down with sharp but sweet limeade, and ending with crispy on the outside, soft on the inside churros with dulce de leche. All was served by a warm, friendly team. What more can you want?

I loved my grilled prawn tacos (spicy!) and ceviche but my husband said his steak tacos were bland, despite the neat padron peppers a top. The price is decent for three tacos. He loved his chicken tinga burrito tho: said it was full of flavour. The margaritas are fantastic: potent and yet subtle. The waiter was fairly attentive. I Table water provided in old tequila bottles. I would definitely return.

Delicious tacos, and excellent service from Ash every time. Highly recommended lunch/dinner spot if you're in Hackney!

It was empty other than one other table when we arrived for lunch at 2pm on aSaturday. Despite their having emailed me the day before to remind me about my reservation for six, made months before, they said I didn’t have one and grudgingly conceded we could have one of the many empty tables. Food was delivered to the table in a ver haphazard way, we were often left with no knives, forks or napkins and had to constantly chase. Corn with alioloi and cheese, and pork and fish tacos were pretty flavourless. Rib of beef was nice, but the salsa accomplishments were tasteless. Cocktails tasted premixed and were not nice.
