Café On The Lane in Stockport

We've been meeting family here for over a year now and we've had superb experiences every time we've visited. We live 60 miles away but the drive there flies by anticipating the amazing food and warm, friendly atmosphere. The breakfast/brunch is faultless every time, whether it's the English or the Greek. Top quality and plentiful without overfacing. The staff are extremely pleasant and the service is exceptional. They really make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. I really can't recommend this place highly enough.

Lovely experience. Long menu with good choices. Friendly staff, with one waiter particularly smitten by our baby granddaughter.

Fantastic place! I enjoyed the large breakfast it was the first time in a long while that I have experienced a very well presented perfectly cooked plate of food! Really surprising to find this Jem along a row of shops in the centre of Heald Green close to Manchester airport. The menu is comprehensive and has a very Greek influence on some of the dishes. It was lunchtime and it was quite busy. I had a chilliconcarne jacket potato with salad and Greek yogurt. My girlfriend had a Chicken Greek Salad which was very tasty. The staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable.

Perfect sausage n cheese sandwiches and cappuccino. Great, efficient and friendly service. Highly recommended. Looking forward to my next visit.

Very friendly people children and dogs allowed. Chilli chips are a must with pancakes to follow also open for breakfast.

Was visiting family and spotted this cafe for breakfast. What an absolute gem of a place, first class service and freshly cooked food. Wish I didn't live 180 miles away!

I nipped into the cafe for a coffee and a slice of toast this morning. I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door by a lovely lady with a huge welcoming smile. I honestly felt welcomed. The cappuccino was really nice and the toast perfect. I had a quick look at the menu which seems varied so will be back to try more soon! A different lady served me when I was paying and again, huge smile and very friendly. Nice people are my kind of people!

Been here several times. Family friendly and always a lovely welcome with quick service. Food is tasty with a nicely varied menu. We'll be back. 🙂

We called into Cafe on the Lane on 06.01.2024 for a late Saturday afternoon coffee and what a lovely, warm, welcome from the staff. We were only here for a Hot Chocolate and Mocha but, checking out the menu we will definitely return to sample more of the food on a future occasion My wife is very critical of her Hot Chocolates but she scored this one very highly which, trust me, is a good recommendation A great place to come and we would highly recommend

Found this cafe following an overnight stay in Heald Green prior to holiday departure from Manchester airport. Modern interior, plenty of tables and comfortable. Full range of beverages, fabulous breakfast menu suited us down to the ground. Very pleasant staff, quick service with a smile. Food beautifully cooked and presented. Will certainly be using their hospitality again next time we stay in the area.

I booked breakfast for 13 people and I could not fault the attentive service. I booked for a similar number back in March and that was equally as good. I would not hesitate to recommend the food was hot and very tasty and nothing was too much trouble. The service was organised and food arrived in a timely manner, especially as we were such a big number. Thank you!!

We popped in for breakfast after staying at the nearby Premier Inn. A lovely place with excellent service and delicious food served piping hot. Will certainly use this place again if I get the chance.

Booked for 12 people on 12.03.2023 and we were not disappointed. The service was great and staff were very pleasant, smiling attentive. The cafe had a great atmosphere, it was buzzing but not too noisy. We were a fussy group in terms of our coffee orders but staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble and all were served piping hot and stayed hot which I love. Always difficult to coordinate a big group however, all the food was served together and was really good. There was a personal touch - at the end of breakfast I was presented with a piece of birthday cake lit with candles and everyone sang happy birthday! We will definitely be back and next time I will try the pancakes and bacon which my sister said were amazing

Had breakfast at the cafe on 12.03.2023. Booked for 12 people and I was celebrating my birthday with family and friends. The service was first class, the staff were pleasant and attentive. We were a fussy group in terms of how we wanted our coffee and staff were super helpful, the latte was served extra hot and stayed hot, just how I like it. Always difficult to coordinate food for a big group, however everyone was served at the same time and the food was lovely. There was a lovely personal touch at the end of breakfast and I was presented with a piece of cake with candles lit and everyone sang happy birthday. Well done everyone for your efforts. I will definitely be back and will have the bacon and pancakes next which my sister said were amazing!!

I couldn’t recommend this cafe more! I had specific dietary requirements that meant that I needed a copy of the menu in advance and I messaged the cafe on Messenger and the person who got back to me couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly. Once we arrived, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The cafe was fairly busy for a weekday which is always a good sign. The decor is really lovely and eclectic and there’s generally a really good vibe to the environment. The person I went with is vegan and initially ordered just smashed avocado on toast, which on the menu is served with egg. There was an option to add mushrooms so she asked whether they were cooked in butter and the server immediately went to find out for her and reassured her that they weren’t. When she mentioned that she was vegan and therefore didn’t want the egg, the server offered her some grilled tomatoes instead, and then the chef came out and asked whether she’d like some fresh falafal he’d just made too. The presentation of the food was lovely and clearly a lot of care had gone into the meals. Service was very attentive and friendly. A shining example of how an independent cafe should be!

Great cafe with lovely atmosphere and fab food - what more do you need? Food is always great with a large choice on the menu suitable for young and old alike. The breakfast are really good but so are the pancakes and milk shakes.

What a lovely cafe to have in Heald Green to get a nice fresh breakfast, good coffee and tasty cakes. I’ve visited on a few occasions now and have been so happy every time with the food and service. The staff are all lovely and friendly, and have been so accommodating when we have turned up as a group with 3 prams, ensuring we have plenty of space and even putting tables together for us.

Met friends for a catch up, really friendly staff, excellent breakfast, freshly cooked, great price, would highly recommend! Keep up the good work!

Very cosy and welcoming. The scones were to die for! The staff were friendly and polite. I would definitely recommend this place. The kids loved the waffles and milkshakes. YUMMY!!!

Great customer service, fresh food and clean. Good variety on menu. Not surprising the place is always full. Only downside is a little chilly with the door open when sat down.

Lovely establishment however for a heavily priced place it was nice to see the staff smoking outside at the back door then returning to start serving whilst blowing smoke inside and not washing their hands. For that reason will not be returning
