What an amazing find. One of those rare jewels you stumble across and love. We were exploring the Custard Factory regenerated area and came across Lovelife. We wanted a mid morning drink and opted for the Peach Matcha. Divine. So impressed we went back for lunch. Shared a famous salad with chicken and a salt beef sandwich. Great food at way too cheap prices. Full up but took home a pastry, Lemon a d pistachio. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Venue airy bright modern , lovely atmosphere. A must to visit.

Just made my first visit having moved into a nearby office. My god, what food! I ordered the salt beef sandwich and it's clear that a lot of love goes into making it. On talking (and thanking) to a chef the bread is homemade and the beef is salted on the premises. At just £9 this is outstanding value. Please go, you won't be disappointed.

The menu looked inventive and promising, but I was sorely disappointed with this place. The food isn’t just mediocre; it’s bad. We went for dinner and got a bunch of the tapas (ranging from meat, vegetables, and fish), dips and bread, as well as some wine and dessert. This was basically a few things thrown together with seemingly little skill or flavour. For instance: the peach, rocket & blue cheese salad should’ve been interesting, but the rocket was sopping wet, there was very little blue cheese, the peaches tasted like they were in sugary syrup from a can, and there wasn’t any dressing. The fried mushroom was so tough and barely edible. Dessert of strawberry tiramisu was a defrosted mess. Wine was overpriced and not reflective of poor quality. The whole meal was ridiculously expensive for what it was. Only plus point was the wait staff, who were very friendly and attentive. If you want better tapas, go to Plates by Purnells for a Spanish vibe, or Damascena for something Middle Eastern.

I planned a Hen Evening for a dear friend with approximately 16 of us last weekend at Cafe LoveLife. Teodora was my main contact and she was extremely prompt with her email replies and sent across a Spreadsheet to complete for Preorders. On the day the table was ready and we all had a lovely time. The drinks were amazing and the vibe was even better. It was the perfect place to celebrate our Bride To Be before we made our way to the Birmingham Bake Off which was a short 2 minute walk. Thank you Teodora, Gabrielle (our wonderful Waitress) and the team for a lovely time!

Birthday meal for a small group of friends that turned into a fabulous night. First visit and walking in, there was a cool friendly buzz in a big space with the high roof of what was clearly originally an old warehouse. Service was really friendly and very attentive throughout. The eclectic menu was intriguing and everyone found something they wanted. We were all blown away by the quality of the food. Everything was cooked to perfection and utterly delicious! Nothing was left on the plates or side dishes. Fascinating sauces, all well executed. Desserts were all delicious too. Special mention to the staff, they gave the birthday girl a special cocktail and a candle to blow out, and were so friendly and warm that it made us all feel that we were especially welcome. Ten out of ten!

Just had Sunday lunch at Cafe Lovelife - absolutely beautiful food!!!! Hubby had lamb and I had chicken. The lamb is the best we had tasted, was cooked to perfection and was so tender. Roast potatoes and veg were amazing. And so reasonably priced. CAN NOT recommend this place enough. Thank you so much for the food and outstanding customer service.

First visit to this restaurant and what a great experience it was. The setting is lovely, the staff were all happy and helpful and the food was fantastic. There were 4 of us and we had 4 meze dishes - the patatas bravas and bread and dips were excellent. For mains we had lamb koftas and chicken skewers which were really delicious. The bottles of Spanish red and white wine were also top notch. There was nothing to fault this place on. We will definitely return.

I don't leave many reviews these days as sadly most dining experinces are just ok. Thankfully Cafe Lovelife is not one of those mddle of the road establisments but a real gem of a find and true wow factor. Exceptional dining experience from food; flavour, quality and presentation, Staff attentive, engaging and professional. Ambience; understated cool urban chic, in keeping with the post industrial Dighbeth vibe, music levels just right for conversation. My only slight criticism as an open plan space it was a bit chilly so the heat could be dialled up a notch and i'm a sucker for a table candle too. Food was authentic with great tastes and textures and presentation. Drinks were served well presented and with some new and interesting ones to try. An offer to put together an affogato was a real dream and much appreciated as was the take home bag. So much good choice on the menu i can see myself making cafe Love life my new go to in Brum and it's been a long while since i could say that. Bravo!

Visited Cafe Lovelife last night for the first time, with my friend. Very impressed! The decor was lovely, loved all the (real!) plants. Great atmosphere, pretty cool place! The food was really lovely, we had most of the meze and the goats cheese off the mains. Really tasty all round, washed down with a few beers, lovely. What really stood out was the staff, so friendly, and attentive without being overly so. Great experience, definitely recommended!

This was my first visit to Lovelife and I was amazed to find such a place on a bit of a miserable looking street. It is so beautiful inside with the most charming and attentive staff. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxing and very welcoming. My Mediterranean breakfast was nothing short of spectacular, incredibly tasty and well presented Our bottle of Prosecco was well worth the price, streets ahead of the sickly stuff usually served nowadays. The whole experience was a delight and certainly banished the Winter blues! Cannot recommend highly enough, looking forward to my next visit.

Lots of character, tasty food and friendly staff. The bright and airy decor creates a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The only down side was the service collapsed after the main course; the cause of many restaurants. Nobody wanted to take our order for dessert and I had to go up to the bar to pay.

Three of us visited yesterday on the recommendation from Danielle (Hissyfit pop up shop) We all chose the Mediterranean breakfast (2 with halloumi, 1 with chicken and chorizo sausage) Drinks varied from cokes, coffee and juice plus water that was brought to us after being seated. Great atmosphere, lovely decor, food was stunning. Staff very friendly and attentive. Reasonably priced. Will visit again if we’re in the area. Thanks all 👏🏼👏🏼

Took a stroll to this little gem this morning and what a treat! Beautifully decorated, warm greeting from the staff and good menu. We both opted for the Mediterranean breakfast…one with pork and thyme sausages and one with lamb merguez sausages. What a plate of loveliness! Washed down with a coffee and smoothie each and it has very quickly become our new fave brunch spot! Will definitely e heading back for Friday cocktail night! It’s great to see new places thrive…and for its first month, this place was buzzing….long may that continue!

Loved everything about this restaurant. Wonderful restaurant, cool decor, good atmosphere. The staff were polite, professional and very friendly . The food was quite delicious . Would recommend Marbella chicken, steak, courgette, fritters, halloumi fries, Potato Bravos. One of the best cocktails we had tasted, the wine was also good quality. We shared three puddings , brownie, tiramisu, sour, cherry, ice cream, gorgeous!!!!! Reasonably priced for Birmingham prices Can’t wait to go again . Well done

The place has a great atmosphere and decor. We went for some drinks on the Friday evening and it was very relaxed with a DJ playing music. I went with a friend and had some food and drinks. For cocktails we had the Pink Panther, a rum Old Fashioned and the Halloween special black el diablo. All really good and the guys on the bar are very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a few snacks which were great. Focaccia, Polenta Fries and Burrata with tomatoes. Everything tasted lovely and fresh. We also had desserts, the brownie and tiramisu. The brownie was incredible and was really fudgy. I'll definitely be going back here.

The food here is insanely good! I have tried a few things from the menu and I have been with my friends whilst they have had other things, and we have had only good words to say about the delightful food here. A couple of my favourite things are the cinnamon buns and Muhammara dip. I am vegan, and there is a good selection of vegan dishes, more than at many other similar establishments. The service is great, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the drinks selection is fabulous too! I think I can pretty confidently say I will be becoming a regular.

Had a blast at Cafe Lovelife with friends! The Focaccia and Olives from the Meze menu were delish. The Lamb Kofte and Marbella Chicken mains were spot on. Those Polenta fries and Patatas bravas sides were a game-changer—seriously, get them! Tiramisu and Dark Chocolate Brownie for dessert sealed the deal. Super cozy vibes, perfect for a chill hangout with friends. Thumbs up!

Great reviews. Interesting menu. Make a booking online. Turned up. Restaurant closed. Looked as though it had been closed a while. Went to Aluna instead. Had a great meal. Advice - call to make a booking, don't rely on online.

I'd been out with a group of chums to see "Dune: Part 2" (oh, and I have opinions about THAT!) and fancied something appropriately spicy afterwards: The spice must flow! We chose Rumana's on a recommendation from a friend's sister, and I'm glad we did. Their website says they "pride ourselves in treating our customers like members of our family", and it really felt like we were old friends visiting someone's home (especially with the well-behaved kids scooting around and being generally delightful - and I don't even like kids!) I think we were served by Rumana herself, and she was welcoming and helpful - a real pleasure to meet someone so engaged and enthusiastic about their restaurant, and being a great host. The other staff were also very polite and helpful, and knowledgable about the menu. Speaking of which: The menu has a selection of dishes which seem unusual and possibly unique to this restaurant. I won't go into too much detail about my friends' dishes, but all were given the thumbs up. The poppadoms came out first, of course, but the accompanying sauces need some props: Their chili-sauce-gravy thing was incredible (I almost asked if I could take some home). Most curry / balti restaurants in Brum seem to have their own 'red sauce' and it's not often one stands out as being extra-special and worthy of a paragraph of review: This was one of those special sauces. Spicy, tangy (tamarind?), thick, and with a huge amount of flavour. Well done, chef! For a starter, I had Shunamoti: I've never had a cheesy chicken tikka omelette before, but I will certainly have it again (and probably learn to make it at home). Very unusual, and very tasty. for my main, I decided to opt for something at the spicy end of the scale, and had to ask about the story behind "What the Bloody?!" (yes, that is what it is called) - no spoilers! You'll have to find out yourself. It warranted three chilis on the menu (not the hottest thing they serve), but this was a home-cooking 3 chilis and was at the top end of my spice tolerance (which is quite high), so be warned! I can recommend the mango lassi as a wonderful 'control rod' for the naga reaction. However: The dish was not just hot for the sake of being hot, but had a real depth of flavour, too. The accompanying roti was fluffy, fresh and hot. I am also reliably informed that their Peshawari Naan is one of the best my friend had ever had (and they lived in India for a while), drizzled with honey and with juicy sultanas embedded within. The restaurant is unlicensed, but there is a small shop over the road where you can buy booze if you need to. It's also next door to a 'Spoons if you want pre- or post-curry cask ales. Overall, a great experience. Northfield seems to be THE place for getting something authentic, unusual, and very tasty these days (I reviewed the equally excellent Omar Khayam a few weeks ago). I'll be back to explore the rest of the menu at some point: I definitely need to try the Atomic Chips!
