Cactus Mexican Takeaway in Lincoln

If you’re wanting an onion fajita just order the chicken fajita as that’s all it’s filled with, wouldn’t be a problem if it had more then 2 pieces of chicken and 3 bits a pepper, AWFUL

I was having a gremlin night (home alone, glued to the sofa, no desire to cook or go to the shops, already in pyjamas) and decided I really wanted a cheesy toasted wrap of some description. Ordered a chicken chimichanga as part of the £16 meal deal and you know what, it was decent. Hot, cheesy, crispy. The nachos it came with were deeply average but it was a good sized portion, covered in cheese, and came with salsa, guac, and sour cream. I am highly suspicious of the "homemade" credentials of the coleslaw but whatever. Is it gourmet? No. Is it perfect for a gremlin night? Absolutely.

Great food, excellent service, reasonably priced

Ordered a prawn taco. What arrived legitimately has me puzzled. A prawn taco with lettuce, cheese, tinned tomato, celery, swede and onion. Like half soup half taco. This place is a disgrace to cooking. I've a good mind to send environmental health around.

I have noticed that this takeaway only responds to good reviews, so I don't expect a reply to this. The worst food I have ever tased. Yes the delivery was quick, but that's a moot point if the food is awful! I had the Meatballs in a spicy sauce. "MEATBALLS"? more like card balls. They tasted like they had been overcooked from the freezer using Chef Mic. There was no taste and no spice to the sauce and it was overfilled with overcooked, squashy, veg. The only reason they could class the meatballs as a plural is because there were 4 of them... that's right, only 4... for £8. Totally NOT worth the money! The best part was the wedges, but even they were poorly done. My wife said much the same about her Chilli Con Carne. It was bland and tasteless and had no spice to it. Again totally NOT worth £8. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY FOLKS, YOU CAN GET BETTER OUT OF A TIN!!!

Awful! Hardly any beef in the taco filling, just bulked out with loads of veg.....big chunks of carrot and celery....like no Mexican beef filling I've ever known! Also tacos had a stale feel to them. Really disappointed and a total waste of money!

Absolutely shocking turns up over 45 minutes late with most of items missing when phone to ask where my order was I was greeted to a snotty rude aggrant so called manger who claimed food to be perfect and no items missing ..which infact I got a bowl of chopped tomatoes (chilli ) with no sides and a burger bun with salad and a poor effect of chicken ...this place has gone down massively since lockdown will never order again from them

Tried this for the first time tonight, ordered in the takeaway and told only 10 mins wait which it was, ordered a chicken burrito and a beef one, both came with rice and potato wedges, we both really enjoyed them and most certainly will order again

Great takeaway. Ordered the bbq burrito and nachos and really enjoyed it. The portions were massive but food was lovely. Delivery was fast and food was intact.

Horrible and overpriced. Ordered chicken burrito with wedges, rice and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella stick cheap frozen quality. The wedges are frozen ones, the rice taste as if it’s out of those microwaveable packets and the chicken burrito was so flavourless and watery. Ordered the first and last time.

Just had my first takeaway from Cactus...very impressed. Tacos were delicious. Will certainly be ordering again.

Used to have great takeaways from here! Then they got new management I had 2 deliveries that were good then they said they couldn't deliver anymore cos I was point .7 over( just over half a mile!), too far which is'nt even a mile! Go figure! Needless to say I was non impressed that they could afford to turn down business for the sake of less than a mile! I now use Casita Mexicana instead!

We've had regular deliveries of food from Cactus and always been very happy. Staff are polite and cheerful and value for money is on a par with other take outs. The food is good quality and well made. The quality is consistent and the food arrives on time and still warm. Nothing to complain about at all. Thanks Cactus.

Me and my partner ordered the chimichanges chicken meal and it was terrible, the service was fast and the portion size was really good they are the only positives, the natchos and cheese was very bland, they came in a big pizza box, the chimichanga chinken itself was very tasteless, it had more salad in then chicken, it was far to greasy, each time you picked it up you had to wipe your hands straight after, the wedges were burnt and horrible and the rice had a chemically taste to it. My partner wanted to try this place for two years and I kept saying no, i wish that was still the case, definitely not worth the price £15 each, wasted £30 that evening, i would advise everyone to avoid this place!

Well,that has to be the worst food if you can call it that I’ve ever had. The wings was yellow cold and swimming in bbq sauce. The lasagna was amazingly bad,no meat just sheets of pasta. We had curly fries they were over cooked and so hard you could require dentistry. brilliant,the only joy I got from cactus was writing the review oh and it’s well over priced 👍🏻

The chips was that cold the cheese wasn’t even melted, the burrito was just doused in bbq sauce made it really sickly n disgusting , no more than 6 wedges ( the best part of it all was the wedges) overall really disappointing really expensive considering how crap it is , rang the place up very rude an happy to take a bad review never ordering from them again

I love this place! The food is really good, portions are great and they come packed in good quality containers for take away in the park. After trying most of the menu I recommend the mexican chicken burger

Potato skins are terrible, soggy and flavourless. Regret the order.

BBQ ribs. Some of the best ribs I have ever had. Fast delivery. Food in box all in the right place. Still hot. If you like ribs you have to try them. Well done to the team at Cactus keep up the good service, will be recommending you to our friends.

Ordered for the first time ever having Mexican, can honestly say excellent value for money, large portions and the taste was amazing. We live nearly 6 miles away and food was piping hot when we served it up. shall definitely be ordering again. highly recommended.

Ordered for collection some nachos with cheese and spicy chicken wings. When we came in they were not doing our order but stated to cook it only when we asked about it. After 3-5 minutes it was ready, which is too quick (at least for the chicken). When we opened boxes with food...chicken wings had huge amount of spicy sauce on them and nachos dont have any taste at all. We will never come back and dont reccomend this place. 0.5/10

Ordered beef burrito with no onion as I react badly to eating onion. Chicken burrito arrived instead, with BBQ sauce inside which I definitely didn't choose and it was full of onion. The rice was cold. The wedges were edible at least. Worst part is the meal cost £15 and sadly the most disgusting takeaway I have ever had.

Ordered from Cactus for the first time and was outstandingly surprised with the service and food that was offered. I had a chilli chicken burrito which came with Wedges and Rice. The chilli chicken had the right amount of kick for me being a spice lover that I am, the wedges were incredible seasoned the right amount of salt and pepper and the rice was very good as an additional side to add a bit of flavour and compliment the burrito's spice. I was served by Maria and she was warm and welcoming by letting me know about the changes to the menu which hadn't been updated on the electronic board. As the only Mexican take-away in Lincoln I would advise everyone to give it a try as they have a lot of variety on their menu.

Food took 2 hours to come and was stone cold, turned it away

Nachos was cold soft and chewy, chips were soggy and cold intact most of the food was not hot. Food didn't taste nice at all and did not taste like Mexican at all. First and last time I will eat from this place. 90% went straight to the bin!

They do lovely meals and the delivery is very quick

Order half an hour late, rang to chase and told me delivered to wrong place but it wasn’t their fault. Manager rang me and started shouting down the phone. STAY AWAY

The best takeaway ever We are just lucky that we can have a Mexican takeaway in Lincoln I mean the only one. I love the burrito with rice and my wife always ask for chicken fajita ;) Thanks Cactus 🌵

Me and my partner ordered two burritos on Sunday evening around 7.10pm where order time was at 20mins, this suddenly shot up to 1hour, which we wasnt bothered about but we expected some good food if we are waiting 1hour on a Sunday night. When the meals finally came we was truly dosaapointed. To call them burritos you should be ashamed. They were more like paninis. Rock hard wraps, huge lumps of chilli, no salad or rice in one of the burritos and just really dosaapointed. The burritos are served with potato wedges. Well I'm telling you now. They were not potato wedges. They were rock hard and burt to a crisp. Absolutley vile! To top things off the rice was stone cold. I 100percent sure we will not be ordering from there again. For those who are considering it, I suggest you read the reviews before you do.

Terrible service, they don't take card payment and then when I went to get money out they told me they don't have any change, food was sloppy and wedges were over cooked, it advertisers it has 5 star hygiene but I can confirm that is not true it only has a 1

I ordered food on Friday night for delivery. 2 hours later the angry manager told me that my food had been delivered. Half an hour later their driver turned up and admitted he had delivered it to a neighbour by mistake. I never got a refund or my food. Angry staff, arrogant and rude. No customer care. No refund. Avoid at all costs.

Cactus is very average in quality, but sadly it's the only Mexican delivery in Lincoln. Their buritos are very nice, but the wedges are just cheaply fried potatoes.

Becoming a bit of a regular Friday evening thing this. Chicken burrito for me, bacon chili burrito for the boy, and vegetable burrito for my wife. Always good quality always good value. Now you can get 20% discount if you spend over £20.

The best food I have ever had,I never see in any other city Mexican takeaway I am so happy I live in Lincoln that I can have a Mexican meal whenever I like!!! I think cactus is only Mexican takeaway in Lincoln.

Last night ordered a bacon cheese burger and received a plain burger with NO bacon or cheese!!!!!! Also received a chicken burger with bacon which we did not order!!!! The wedges was over cooked and dripping with grease!!!!!! When we called to complain the female member of staff was very rude and said they sent what we ordered but this was obviously not the case!!! They did not offer to re-cook and send the correct order that was actually placed!!! Worst take away we have ever had!!!! Ruined our night!!!! So glad my partner works for trading standards as first thing Monday morning returning to the office he will defo be filing a comprehensive report and paying the venue a visit!!!!!! Ordered a take away from Cactus this evening and was disappointed. The delivery came before expected but that's really the only positive. I ordered a prawn burrito with refried beans and my partner ordered a beef burrito. We did not receive any refried beans but instead got some kind of bean chili. I had been looking forward to these as they are rare on UK menus. The 'burritos' were flat with very little of the filling promised and the rice came on the side which seemed odd... a burrito by definition contains rice and ours contained none. The potato wedges were standard fried from frozen and the food was generally VERY bland. It was all carb-loaded and totally flavourless. WORST 'Mexican' take out ever! Although they are clearly going for a southern (US) style tex-mex, they are failing miserably.

After waiting an hour for a chicken burrito without lettuce, nachos with cheese and a drink- we received a mixed meat burrito with lettuce and dry tortilla chips with tasteless half melted cheese. Food was almost cold, unseasoned, tasteless. Rice that accompanied our incorrect burrito was insipid and wedges were overcooked and greasy. Best thing about our order was the can of drink we thankfully did receive- it helped us wash down a disgusting excuse of a Mexican takeout meal.

Food from here used to be really good now it just seems rushed and no attention paid to the order. It's a shame because I liked this place but now I think I won't bother any more it's just not worth the high cost for low standard food.

Been meaning to try this for a while and finally got around to it today.

We ordered a cactus special to be delivered. Part of the combo included Nachos. What arrived was dry tortilla crisps ! The dips looked and tasted to be from a jar and the potato wedges were way overcooked. My son wanted a Mexican burger but without additional chillies. What arrived was a cheap burger in a bun ! We also ordered chicken strips, and received chicken nuggets. Basically we paid £18 for a selection of food from a well known cheap frozen food store. !

Nice Burrito from here. Chose the spicy one and it was pretty hot! Nice staff too
