Burger King in North Devon

Awful avoid like the plague. Restaurant had ONE couple in and lots of drive through cars parked outside waiting for orders. Ours was completly wrong and cold. We are beyond mad. We waited 30 mins and a further 10 mins trying to sort out the wrong cold food we saw a member of staff wandering up and down the parked cars with before it being put into our order at the counter. All whilst our 6 week old baby screamed in the back seat. Complete waste of £20. Will NEVER go back there.

I ordered a whopper meal. The child on the till showed she has an ego problem when I wanted cheddar instead of the nasty fake cheese. I payed a bit more for the smokey cheddar, but never got it inside the burger!! Hectic day, so this was my first opportunity for food late in the day bad I know but it happens and that was my fault not theirs. I wouldn't be surprised if this burger king store gets included in with the 400 stores set to close down. Don't upset those kids whilst making an order - don't disrespect the plastic cheese 🤣🤣 I hope their parents makes them food they are not happy with when they finish their shifts and they complain to their parents and they get a clip round the ear. Didn't want to rate them at all but this wouldn't post unless I hit at least one rating lol

Awful! Cold food, tiny portion of chips. Pretty crap all round really. Wouldn’t bother going again!!

I came while waiting for a prescription from Tesco pharmacy. the chips, (regular) were a small portion, compared to a huge £3 portion at Appledore fish & chips shop. customer service not as jolly & helpful as Mcdonald's on motorway service stations on M5.

Cold food stale buns staff dose not seem bothered. When asked for fresh hot food my wife got abuse from the staff upsetting her until she was in tears totally unacceptable.

Been several times but the seating area is always messy with food and papers on the floor. Food OK if not a little expensive compared to Mc Donalds.

Well to be honest with you it is pretty disgraceful as no seems to what they are doing noticed it is always empty as well says a lot to be fair the prices are far to high and the food is never up too standards I mean we are paying for food that is never up too standard it's literally a joke i would never eat there again it is that horrific 😡

Being familiar with McDonald's, we thought we would try a cheeky cheeseburger at a burger 'king'. Being unimpressed with the utter dump that is the route to the drive thru and after a wait to speak to someone,then being left a little confused when informed they don't sell 'cheeseburgers' but did sell bacon cheeseburgers we optimistically opted for 3 of those. After more waiting then an open mouthed moment when told the cost (£19 something) I pressed my bank card to the reader before hearing the price or would have said forget it, we eagerly awaited the most expensive burgers ever purchased (after being told it may take a few minutes because previous customer had ordered the same thing, we all like fresh but surely 'fast food' places cook more than one at a time?) In due course a suspiciously small bag was reluctantly handed over and we drove away to sample the goodies. Not wanting to park at the rear (dump) we opted for the slightly more salubrious surroundings outside the tyre shop next door. Opening the bag revealed three small packages each containing a stale sesame seed bun,two patties and some very undercooked and COLD strips of fat that my son informed me were actually bacon! Cooked fresh were they burger king!! After a couple of tentative bites I could do no more and then suffered utter failure to entice even a seagull to try this greasy bland mess. If this had cost a couple of quid I would have chalked it up to experience but it didn't. PLEASE burger 'king' up your game,£20 for three laughable poorly put together undercooked burgers is nothing short of daylight robbery. I have frequently driven past and seen this place empty, now I know why.

Absolutely Shocking service, it would run better with a group of primary school children, whoever owns this particular franchise need to go and pay a visit, it’s dirty, staff are rude and inept, nobody seems to know what they’re supposed to be doing, food takes for ever and massively overpriced, they also don’t allow the use of the official Burger King mobile app which is how to get deals. I went yesterday just for a whopper meal, the burger was thrown together so badly I couldn’t be bothered to even try to salvage it, threw the whole meal in the bin, will never be coming back again! Absolutely disgusting!!

Ordered a vegan royale without a bun and staff were really helpful, there was a young lad on the till who was being trained and was really friendly and James who made sure my meal was how I wanted it, also a good cup of coffee!

Tried to go in at 1834 and were informed by staff that it was takeaway only, despite both website and sign on door saying you could sit in until 7pm. Won’t be back

Ordered takeaway delivery about 6.15 on friday night. Didnt recieved the food till 8pm after being told it was only an hour wait. I contacted the store at 7.45 to enquire where our food was only to be told they were busy and we would have to wait. I then asked for the manager as the person on the phone was being rude only to be informed that he was the manager. I felt he was very rude and unsympathetic and had a 'couldn't care less' attitude. When the food arrived it was cold and under cooked ontop of being very late. And to top it off, one if my friends is allergic to tomato and requested that the pickles and tomato be left off. This was not the case when it arrived and it was drowning in mayonnaise. Then, Today (saturday) Both myself and my friends have food poisoning as a result (vomiting and diarrhoea and stomach pains). We know it is from Burger King because my partner didnt eat anything else all day apart from the Burger King meal ordered. We are appalled at the service provided just because "they were busy". Absolutely disgusted and will not be returning.

Turned up to order some food. Stood at the counter and was ignored by staff for ten minutes, at which point I left!!!! Would recommend to anyone looking to waste their time. Got served immediately at another fastfood chain!!!

My husband and I visited this fast food restaurant and were greeted by 2 women members of staff who were rude and very uninterested in serving us.They were talking amongst themselves about messaging some men they had met on a night out one weekend whilst serving us. It was very rude and I really didn't need to hear it.I usually like the food here, but the chips were cold and the burger was just slapped together.It was also rather expensive for the amount of food that we actually got. We did not feel welcome at all when we were in there, no wonder it was empty.Very disappointed and would not recommend this Burger King franchise.

Its a fast food joint, right? Key word in that is fast... We waited for 20 minutes in a drive through, to not be told about a wait because the window was closed...we just sat there. Thats after also sitting at the top to even give our order. Drove home, was given the wrong burger and both burgers were cold. We drove back, the guy apologised about how understaffed they are and remade our burgers with extra chips. After the chat, i understood more but still, not the point. Management need to up their game, very disapppinting ghost town of a burger joint. It needs staffing, speeding up and quality check. I don't expect to pay £16 odd for that service or food.

Decided to have a cheeky takeaway Burger King and used the Just Eat app earlier this evening, for my mum and I. I had a phone call little while later asking to speak to my friend; suddenly, it dawned on me that the last time I had used the Just Eat app I had it delivered to my friend’s house, and I had forgotten to amend the delivery address for this order. Oops. I immediately apologised to the member of staff on the phone and tried to explain the situation, only to be interrupted and very abruptly told that he COULD cancel my order. I accepted that potential outcome and said I understood, however I continued to try and explain that it was a genuine mistake and that fortunately, my address was quite literally around the corner from where the delivery guy was, the whole time being interrupted by this very rude member of staff continuing to tell me that he COULD cancel my order because it is my responsibility to check the delivery address and other people had given fake addresses before. I accept those facts, and yes, I understand it was frustrating, but he continued to repeat the same thing multiple times, after each of my apologies. I could do nothing more than apologise, but the rude, abrupt, aggressive attitude he displayed really was not helping the situation.After being told numerous times that he could cancel my order, I was then told that the delivery driver was on his way and I was to stand outside my front door and wait for him. If I was not outside waiting for him when he got here, he would be turning around and going back. Before I had the chance to apologise again and say thank you, he hung up.So, I did as I was told and stood outside in my pyjamas. The delivery guy arrived shortly afterwards and he actually apologised for the wait, bless him, really lovely guy. I immediately said that it was my mistake and I was sorry he had to drive around. He wished us a nice evening and went on his way.So much attitude for genuine mistake. There really was no need for such aggression.Will not be spending my money there again.

We ordered in BK barnstaple last year and in my burger there's a piece of cardboard inside,then I didn't order again for months because I was so disappointed. Then just today my bf ordered again and guess what inside my chicken burger? An extra piece of hair and a little bug.Am I the unlucky one?

Came is a rush hour started so thought why not!! It's been months if not years since we had a BK and not disappointed - the usual rush for the staff and we all came in at the same time but not flustered they just got on with it - food cooked to order so if you're in a hurry no point coming in - however hot tasty burgers and fries were served which we really enjoyed - and for us better than the rivals - nice work team Barnstaple

Asked for 4 double whoppers and one single whopper, got 4 single whoppers and one double whopper. Got charged for the doubles. Ridiculous price at 46 pounds. Not the first time this has happened. Never going there again.

This is our 'burger of choice' place. We love the chips here too. The place was struggling a bit due to staff shortages but those who were there did there best to make sure we enjoyed our visit.

Este es el peor drive thru me he encontrado. El personal era grosero totalmente desinteresados. Una larga espera luego básicamente tiró la comida en nosotros. Nunca más te encaminan hacia mi consejo es bien claro

Never actually got to eat any food - went into the drive through and there was only a single car in front of us. Took a very long time for them to be served. Meanwhile we debated whether we could be bothered to wait as long. However, when we reached the cashier hatch, there was actually no one there. There were two employees at the restaurant side, one actually working and the other slouched over the counter. After waiting a couple of minutes without any acknowledgement we gave up and went to McDonald's instead where we had excellent service!

turned up to buy a burger to see a sign on the door! "sorry at present we are unable to sell any beef products, we do have chicken and vegetarian options" they might as well of closed!

Went in today and ordered two double XL burger meals with bacon and they were just so dry and also cold. Staff seemed very vague and false. Also very expensive and certainly not value for money compared to other food outlets. Will never part with cash is this place ever again. Such a shame that it's gone down-hill.

The tables were all dirty the staff were standing round instead of serving and didnt look like they knew what they were doing. Plus the resturaunt was empty bar a few people waiting for their food. Yet every single table had not been cleared and/or cleaned

We visited on our way home from holiday and it was quiet, which is just as well as I'm not sure we would have got any food if it was busy... the staff seemed to be very slow and the foosball took about 20mins which is pretty bad considering there were very few people in the restaurant. I'm not sure I saw an order come out with the right food on it, everyone seemed to have some problem with their order or food.

Visited here today with our children 4 and 7, we waited over an hour just to place our order, the manager told us that the drive through took priority over the restaurant customers and actually took a burger off a waiting customer's tray and gave it to a drive through customer, when the woman asked why are you giving my burger to someone else the manager told her that she wasn't a priority as she was less likely to complain than a drive through customer!..... I've never seen such awful customer relations - we arrived in the queue to order for at 1.30, placed our order an hour later, then waited a further 40 mins to recieve our food, NOT GOOD ENOUGH BURGER KING!

We visited this restaurant and enjoyed our foods which was delivered promptly and tasted delicious, we had to wait for the burgers but when it is cooked fresh you can expect this delay and this adds to the adventure.

Decided to have a burger king as they now deliver and i was in no shape to drive!Took a little while for it to be delivered, and when i took it from the guy he nearly forgot to give me my drinks. We ordered burgers that had onion rings and bbq sauce in, well, what can i say...the size of the burgers were a joke! I have never seen one so small. We also order a waffle for dessert with chocolate sauce...never got the sauce, just a dry waffle!i can honestly say that i will never eat at burger king again!

Something about this BK feels different. The burgers were fine as expected so no complaint. I suspect it is due to its location next to the bowling, seems kids can simply hang out etc. There is something happening in UK restaurants that is becoming increasingly obvious; they are alway 1 employee short. Service just seems to slip a little. Things like bins not being emptied and the tables not wiped down frequently enough. Messy tables might not be such a problem if parents taught their kids manners and how to eat and behave at a table properly though.

Slow motion, 7 people behind the counter, no one actually seemed to be cooking, no organisation, a Friday too. I have been here before, it was slow then, now, like watching paint dry, 16 minutes for kids meal and cheese bites, only 2 orders in front of us, not really exquisite dining or ordering a slow roast, just burger and bites. Never again, rather chew my own arms than endure that, how can so many people slow a tried and tested process, I hate this type of food, I now refuse to ever step foot in one again

Went into Burger King after bowling. As we had 6 children with us I ordered 20 mins before we needed to eat (whilst the kids played in the arcade at Lets Go next door) in case it might take a while. 45 mins later we were still waiting for food. A crowd of people were waiting, restaurant was a mess and I had to clear and clean a table before sitting down (although I think customers should clean up after themselves, it's not difficult). The drive thru orders seemed to take priority over counter orders. There was no system in place to serve food to the people waiting the longest and servers would simply race to steal the burger or chicken nuggets for their customer. At one point, with a huge crowd now watching and waiting for food, a server wandered off to fill the ketchup tray...... The only saving grace was that at least our server was polite and did apologise for the wait, none of the other servers were even bothering.

My husband and I ate at Burger King, Barnstaple once we had arrived after our long trip up. We opted for a Bacon XXL burger meal and a double whopper burger meal.The venue itself was clean and tidy. The staff were polite and quickly processed our order. This burger king branch is a much better experience than ours in our own city! Would recommend.

Not big fan of burger king to be fair but there 1 pound odd chicken burgers are nice and crispy and very tasty! My daughter has two! With a little lettuce perfect quick tasty and cheap snack!!!!

Empty when we arrived (3 adults), we waited ages and got cold food. Then a mother came in having prebooked a birthday party for a dozen children . They had completly forgotten, absolutely no help given and all staff behind the counter ignoring her whilst the little birthday girl helped her mummy blow up balloons. Outrageous, Before leaving I went and asked for flat packed crown hats for them all. Disgusting. Ok they forgot but could have made a bigger effort as all stood around looking blank and pathetic.

went there as Barnstaple hotel had finished serving lunch and six of us were hungry . so all had burgers ,which was fine , service a little slow , tables weren't very clean, floor was messy with food and serviettes . .whether they had been busy at lunch time and were short staffed could have been the reason.fast food not our thing really

Me and my other half, had time to kill before hitting the train station not far from burger king.We went through the drive thru, to be met with a rude person on the telecom box who was abrupt when my partner said "pardon?" from not hearing what she had said, to then find once we had gotten to the window, our order was completely wrong in the first place!. we were charged for a large tendercrisp meal, although we received a regular, and although we had ordered two over the telecom, a second hadn't been put through when questioned the poor girl, who had just come back from her break was utterly embarrassed. Management needs to step up its game. They need more staff more training and more manners next time. You have let us down, Barnstaple down, burger king down and most importantly you've let your selves down...

We rarely visit fast food places. It was a pleasant surprise to be served hot tasty food. cheerful service too.

The service and the freshness of the burgers here is variable.Today the server didn't take my order correctly and the burger was cold.

Had a lovely family lunch today! Chicken burger and nice crispy fries! Had a 99p sundea to follow! Lush!!! Children loved the happy meals and the toy to go with it! Husband was happy with a big steak burger meal and a large coke to follow it down with! Great treat!!!

Had a takeaway from here on a couple of occasions during our stay when we had had a long day out & wanted to just chill out in our room & have an early night!! Average takeaway food, but convenient as right next door to our hotel. Quite nice food but nothing out of the ordinary.

Members of staff rarely wash their hands, they take cigarette breaks every 15-30 minutes and then continue to make you food, there is nothing but bad hygiene in the building. Food that should be rotated so that the produce is always fresh never gets rotated, so be careful next time you have salad in with you burger (pretty much every burger) as you will probably be getting bad produce. As for the meat and chicken, this will get held in the heat pans for anything up to an hour. The person in charge of hiring staff only ever hires unintelligent school kids who are more capable talking about getting drunk and who they've met on a weekend than meeting sales targets and serving customers. So, just think next time you're in Burger King it may look clean and fresh but it is far from that and that's only the tip of the ice berg.

My friends said hey BK or KFC . Mmm difficult choice BK won. Surprised as the food was freshly made and full of flavour actually one of the best burgers I had from any late night drive thru. Really good me & my friend had a jerk chicken burger with a hash brown. Very similar too tower burger at KFC but better ... The meat was delicious fresh salad mouth watering ... Fresh & tasty... I have been to this branch of Burger King many times over the last year or so. It's a treat for my nephew! Staff are usually happy to help, quick and efficient and the food is always nice and much better that the nearby McDonalds.However, this visit was one of, not only the worst Burger King, but worst restaurant visit I have had in recent memory!Due to a failure with some equipment, veggie burgers and other items were off the menu. For a vegetarian, slightly annoying, but I cannot blame the staff for equipment failure so happily ordered food for my nephew and then sat down to eat.Firstly, the chap who served me was happy to help as was the other lady serving at the tills. However, there was a member of management (white shirt) who slithered out from the cooking area glancing at his staff. This member of the management team, was in no rush and took his time to eye me up as if I was disturbing something. It was not a nice feeling and made me feel very unwelcome! In fact, I almost had the impression the only reason he was came out was to check the staff were not trying to escape! He really did come across as a jail guard!Upon sitting down in the restaurant (only two tables had customers) I couldn't help but notice how filthy the place was. Not one clean table! They were all covered in either salt, ketchup, chips or wrappings and cups from customers who had not made use of the bins. But, upon looking at the overflowing bins, it wasn't as if the customers could squeeze anything else into them! Both bins were crammed to the max!Made my way to the condiment counter, making sure not to slip on the coke spillage or the ketchup blobs on the floor. However, there was no ketchup. Had to ask the manager for some. Upon telling him the condiment thing was empty, he gave me a few from behind the counter and said they were about to refill it.Now, I don't mind a few dirty tables in a restaurant, especially if it has been busy and you can see the staff are struggling to keep up. However, we were in the restaurant for almost half an hour from service to exit. Not one table was cleaned. Not one table was wiped. Neither bin was emptied. The, potentially, dangerous floor wasn't mopped and the ketchup was not refilled in the condiment holder!You may think, well this kind of thing happens in a restaurant. I was in there for half an hour and only one other customer came in after us. There were no other customers to serve at all during this period! Somebody should have been cleaning the restaurant during this period and IMO the person in charge should have been far more involved in his role in ensuring the place was running to spec. In essence, awful visit!I have put a few picture up but they are not of the best quality.

Visited there at lunchtime and seeing that not only were they short staffed and busy with a big queue of customers. Initially I thought this is going to be a nightmare and there were a few disgruntled customers moaning about a wait, but when we did get served and after a ten minute wait for the food it was great, hot and as a treat for the kids before going back to school. Yes we waited and yes we could've left and gone somewhere else but we stuck with it. Went here tonite for dinner before playing pool @ 7pm.Christ we had to wait so long to order [did not bother in the end] because the staff wanted to talk about their weekend. Sitting down to eat, we were having to listen to songs with every swear word under the sun being played and the place was full of children.Abysmal
