Food absolutely poor. Out of a packet, well that's what it felt like. Look and taste were terrible. Hard for me to say anything positive about the experience. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

We were a party of 12 for a special birthday lunch on Sunday 3rd February. Our table was set and ready for us and easy access for two of our party with slight mobility issues. From beginning to end the meal was exceptional and a true credit to the chef, waiting staff and the hotel. We nearly all had starters which all arrived together and were hot and tasty. Twelve main courses ranged from chicken, leek and mushroom pie, steak pie, burgers and a special mention for the venison steak which was Gleaneagles standard food. Everything was so well prepared and hot with really good sized portions. Sweets were lovely and every member of the party thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The venue is lovely with nice views over the gardens. Can’t recommend highly enough and we will certainly be back.

The food in the Brasserie is sooooo good! I had the venison in cranberry sauce and it was cooked to perfection. The choice at breakfast is also very good, and the staff so attentive.

Food was awful. Overcooked, poorly presented, cheap produce and mouldy tomatoes. Would never eat here again. Don't think this food could have been prepared by a properly trained chef!

Reliable restaurant with consistent food and service. Nothing brilliant but if you just wan't a decent meal, good menu at a realistic price, you can't go far wrong. Huge portion of smoked salmon starter. Steak pie is great and pastry underneath was crispy ( usually always leave that as it's always soggy in other places) .

I liked it all. Food was well prepared and presented, varied menu and great, cheerful service. The wine list was a bit limited but that is understandable. The place is obviously popular with the locals, another good sign.

As part of a large group taking our matriarch out for mother's day, it would have been embarrassing for her if we had challenged the management about the standard of their food, so to save her blushes, we didn't. It would have spoiled her day more than the poor food did.£14.95 for 2 courses or £18 for 3. I had soup, which was fine - nothing special - but it was hot.The main course was nothing short of disgraceful. I ordered roast beef sunday dinner. The vegetables were very soggy, the yorkshire puddings were burnt on the top and uncooked on the base (how do you do that?), the beef was tough, the gravy was like water and had about as much flavour. When one of our group asked for English mustard, he was presented with a squeeze bottle of mild english mustard which tasted odd.The whole thing just lacked effort. There was no attention to detail. It just smacked of laziness on the part of the team.Save your hard-earned cash and go somewhere that cares about the food they serve, not here.If I could have scored this restaurant 0 instead of 1, I would have. Very poor.

Visited here on Father's Day having read favourable reviews. The restaurant was empty when we arrived which should have been a good indicator. When the meals arrived the portions were large but the food was bland and tasteless. There were five in our party and we all ordered different meals - everyone was disappointed. The room was dimly lit which did nothing for the atmosphere.

Good quality food although he choice was a bit limited. Staff very friendly and efficient. If you have booked the hotel with dinner included then, realistically, you will need to supplement the allowance already paid. However, the food is not unreasonably priced for the quality. Wine selection not huge but we had a very nice New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

Stopped off here for some food. Starters of Pate and Breaded brie were good. Opted for Venison and my friend had the Thai chicken curry. The Venison was i think braised and thinly sliced, if it hadn't stated venison on menu i'd have thought it was just normal steak. I regularly eat hot food but the curry was far too hot and lacked any flavour, we didn't opt for desserts as the mains were disappointing.

Food was of very good quality with fairly large portions.e.g. for my main course I had Grilled Sea Bass with New Potatoes and Salad - it had two fillets and enough potatoes and salad for two. Everything was fresh and delicious. Most of the Mains were less than £10 and starters and desserts were around £5. The Children's menu was also excellent value - although we were on a DBB rate, if I recall correctly I think it was £4.95 for 2 courses or £5.75 for 3 and came with a choice of soft drinks.

Went here for family celebration, phoned to confirm that I would need a gluten free option as I have coeliacs. Having arranged a change for which I was gratefull, on the day chips had coating of wheat flour and instead of just plain cheese as I was bringing my own crackers they put their crackers. I feel they don't understand people when told they can not eat something as it can make them seriously ill.
