Went for breakfast at the tail end of the breakfast window . Waited 45 mins for food wich we ended up buying another drink. Do t mind waiting if the food is good and hot . Unfortunately this wasn't the case . Could see from where I sat the the food was being put onto plates out of pots that weren't even radiating any heat . And when was served at the table was only slightly warm . I like my food hot. Really sad as the price paid was more than the average breakfast price. Sausage wasn't to my liking I like more meat than bread ratio. Hash browns were of good quality although cold. Just really poor. I'm sorry I have to leave this review . I did notice the couple 2 in front of us in the queue complained of the wait and got a free coffee. We never even got an apology for the wait . In this instance it goes a long way . Such a lovely restaurant but the basic of hot 🔥 food missing.

Don’t have a cream tea! The scones were so over baked they disintegrated on contact with a knife. The bits we managed to eat snapped like a biscuit. The staff, who were kind, swapped for another which was just as bad. Disappointing.

Think school dinners but for the over 70s..... Dodgy sandwiches with budget supermarket bought sliced bread. Frozen chips and service from the dark ages. Like good coffee? Forget it. They can't even spell Barista let alone serve a Barista style coffee. Honestly the absolute worst and priced at a premium.

The food was nice. Reasonably priced Varied menu choices. The food was very hot. Poached eggs were overcooked. Fairly quick service. All served in Denby dishes. Coffee was lovely. Breakfast is ordered at the counter and they'll bring it to your table. Staff were friendly. The cafe was very busy.

I was taken by a friend for Sunday lunch. We were greeted by burnt Yorkshire puddings. Some slightly less burnt appeared when requested by my friend. The beef was chewy, and the roast potatoes barely edible. The other veg was OK. My friend had roast and mashed potatoes. I was offered one or the other, and the roast potatoes were awful. My plate was only half full compared to hers but I was still charged for a full dinner, and left with half of mine in a takeaway box for my dogs. I won't be back for a long time.

We love the food and the atmosphere here but the one thing that stops us going back is that the place is freezing cold. They never have any heating on - and when it's close to freezing outside you want to be able to warm up.

The good: The pottery (no surprises!) Is very good that they use. The staff are also very helpful. The bad: I have been a few times. The jacket potato is very poor, basically a microwave job you get the same affair at Tesco cafe but slightly more expensive. You want a jacket to be crispy with some fancy salad rather than a basic assortment. The chips are not guaranteed to be gluten free despite chips being gluten free. The service can also be a little saawtooth approach, one time I had to wait a good 30min to get my food. Basically the food isn't great here.

My husband and I took Afternoon Tea at Bourne's restaurant this afternoon. We were very impressed. There was a good selection of sandwiches, which were freshly made and well presented. The scones were massive and scrumptious.the There was a choice of cake and also macaroons. These were all delicious. There was unlimited tea or coffee. We were even offered to take anything home that we couldn't eat. Everything was served in beautiful, colourful Denby Pottery. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the service was excellent. Although we have visited the Denby village outlet on many, many occasions before, but we had never had afternoon tea. Definately will partake again. Thank you for the great experience. .

Whilst it was well organised in terms of covid, with a one way system and social distancing, the drinks were very slow to arrive and the ‘lattes’ very weak (more like an americano with a lot of milk). The Denby factory shop next door is great but we won’t be rushing back to the cafe.

Nice place, friendly staff, but avoid the sausage cobs, oversized bread that felt like it came recently out of the freezer, and the 'sausages' were tiny......work in progress I think on that one.

What a disorganized mess. The young man making drinks clearly has no people skills, moaning at others for no cups etc, spills milk, clears it up and doesn't even bother to wash his hands! Then carriers on serving putting his hands in the cups. Not a place I will be rushing back to. Put on more staff at busy times please...£2.70 for milkshake thats basically nesquick...disappointing as its a lovely shopping outlet.

A lovely cafe in the heart of the denby pottery. It's one of those rare places where you can have a cream tea with their own Denby pottery cutilley served at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend their afternoon tea special, but you will need to give them a 24hrs notice for this.

For people not familiar with this part of Derbyshire this is actually Denby Pottery - Bourne was the original name! I love Denby ware and at the moment there's up to 70% off their warehouse items - I've just bought 8 Denby mugs for less than £30 I'm well chuffed!

Tea for two served in beautiful Denby table ware was not as hot as we normally like, and I'm afraid the carrot cake I had was dry, although the frosting did go some way to make up for this.

The Boot & Slipper is a friendly and popular pub in the heart of Swanwick. It's a great place to go for a drink, a meal, and some live entertainment. The pub has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. There's a good selection of drinks on offer, including local beers and ciders. Live entertainment is every weekend, with a variety of acts, including bands and singers, There's also Sky Sports on the big screen, so you can catch all the latest sporting action. Overall, the Boot & Slipper is a great place to go for a night out with friends or family. It's a fun and relaxed atmosphere, with something for everyone.
