Bay View Restaurant & Bar, Gwesty Gadlys Hotel in Isle of Anglesey

My stepfather arranged a surprise birthday get-together here for my mum. We arrived a little bit early but were warmly shown us to our table. The venue itself was lovely and the staircase had been decorated gorgeously with Christmas decorations. Once everyone had arrived we were served some pre-selected meals. For starters a crab bisque with a large crouton with fresh crab generously spread across it. This was delicious. For the main it was surf and turn with a side of tender stem broccoli and home made chips. Everything was presented well, unfortunately, the lobster was a little overcooked so was slightly rubbery in the tail. The claw meat was fine. As for the steak I wish I could have been asked for a preference because I tend to have it rare to medium rare. As a consequence I found it quite dry so used it like a meaty sponge to mop up the peppercorn sauce. The sides were delicious. Overall the staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming, the bar plentiful (although I have never had a tequila mojito before) and the setting wonderful. Just a slight room for improvement with but dishes but still a lovely evening.

We stayed there for our 37th wedding anniversary. It was our first ever visit to Anglesey and the hotel staff from the afternoon receptionist, restaurant staff, breakfast staff and morning receptionist all made us so welcome. The room was very well appointed, warm, comfortable and the bathroom/shower spacious. The local village of Cemaes was well worth a visit, everyone was very friendly. Will go back again and highly recommend the hotel

Can't comment about the rooms, this our go to place on a weekly basis, it is not far from where we live. The menu changes constantly, there are the usual items on the menu never ever had a bad meal at this place, excellent.

Went for a meal with the Mrs, Stunning location and the food was perfect , Venue was busy which shows how popular it is , Loved the venue and the staff were very attentive , Thank you 😊

Had the most fabulous eve at Gadlys Restaurant with my son and Sister and my nephew. We were looked after by Andrew restaurant manager with such kindness and attention as we had a mix up with our booking our fault entirely and table found for us Andrew cudnt have been more helpful he saved our eve and the food was amazing we highly recommend this restaurant delicious food fab staff and we will def be back again soon thnx again Andrew and staff 🥰xx

Wow, where do we start! What a find! This restaurant is located in a beautiful part of Anglesy and with the size of Anglesy you could travel from anywhere which we recommend. Andrew the Manager is exceptional in his hospitality skills and I wonder if he learnt then in England, Paris or Rome. He is the perfect host. As a nervous diner with no speech and limited sign language I chanced a visit but Andrew and his team made us feel so welcome that we ate there 3 days in a row. We are back in October and will bring the whole family to experience exceptional hospitality. The food also was amazing.

Amazing food, great friendly staff, beautiful location

Stayed for 3 nights with my 92yr old mum. Hotel is spotlessly clean and all the staff Inc Reception, Breakfast ladies and Cleaning ladies were so lovely with us. We ate in the restaurant every night as the food is superb. Nothing was too much trouble as my mum has a limited diet. They were all amazing with her it has really made her little holiday a remerable one so thank you so much. Beautiful Hotel and staff are a credit to them.

Excellent place, food's great, beer's are well kept. Very nice outdoor area . Dog friendly too. Nice campsite on the premises. Highly recommended

Haven't stayed here but ate in the restaurant a few times on a recent stay on Anglesey. Food exceeded our expectations it was lovely and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the sun enjoying the view and the food. Staff were lovely too. Would definitely recommend.

Had a celebration meal here whilst on holiday. Food was excellent, service good. The restaurant in a beautiful location with glorious views of the coastline. Charity quiz was taking place the same time however this added interest to the evening. The owner followed us out when we left to apologise if our evening had been spoilt, which we thought was very thoughtful. Would definitely return.

Good food excellent service wonderful company!

Have just had a 3 night stay at this Hotel. We were in room 9 which has a view over a small track and fields to the rear of the property. No noise during the night which enabled us to sleep soundly The room is a decent size and beds can be made to either 2 singles or a SuperKing size. The rooms are meticulously clean and airy and the bathroom is large with a walk in double shower. We ate in the Restaurant for the three nights and it essential that you make advance bookings as it does get busy. The menu is limited but that should not put you off. There are more than enough options to choose from for visits on 3 nights and each night there is also a Specials menu. We can recommend the Meze and chicken skewers starters and fish and Chips and the chicken from the mains. On the last night there was a tbone pork steak on offer with mash potatoes, leeks etc.. which was the highlight meal. All the food is very well prepared and is very good value for money. If you can make it to the desert menu then the Sticky toffee pudding is highly recommended. A shout out here for Andrew in the Restaurant who whilst being attentive is not in your face and made the dining experience a pleasure. Breakfast is served in a separate room and again was good value. There is the typical full Welsh breakfast with sausage bacon etc but a very decent option was the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Plenty of fruit juices, cereals etc were also on offer. The weather was not brilliant whilst we were in Anglesey but the Hotel and staff made it a welcoming place to return to when soaked through! If we decide to return to the area this Hotel and Restaurant would be our first choice.

Excellent food, excellent service. Gorgeous location.

Visited the restaurant for Sunday lunch and was so pleased with both the service and the quality of the meal. Everything cooked to perfection and presented with the same care. The restaurant caters for dogs in a lovely bright open room with excellent views. Must also mention the Bays own beer, Bay View Blonde it was a cracking pint. Would recommend the restaurant and are considering a return to stay at the hotel.

We booked a meal here for Valentine’s night ,on arrival the service was good the owner was attentive and thanked his guests which was nice but the food was not up to standard my partner ordered the steak and said it was good but my meal chicken /potatoes in a leek sauce was very disappointing. There was no taste to the meal the potatoes were dry and you could tell they had been cooked then reheated which for £17.95 was not value for money ,I did leave a few potatoes . We don’t get out often so very disappointed that the meal was not to standard ,I think they could do with a different chef and maybe a better choice on the menu ,not a great range to be honest

We just came here for a Sunday lunch, but what a fantastic location and food. Amazing views and a lot of walking possible. Next time, we will wear sensible shoes. I can highly recommend it for lunch,dinner, or just drinks. Parking is free for guests.

Stayed on the campsite, ate at the restaurant twice. Breakfast and dinner....food was excellent..bit pricey...but good quality. Wine reasonable. Good service.

Fantastic hotel we stayed in our motorhome on pitch 1 great pitch fully serviced great value for money.

Stayed 1 night and luckily there was a taster evening. Amazing food, wine and service. So refreshing these days to have friendly service. The owner interacted with all the tables, again this is how service should be. A huge well done to all your staff..!!

Stayed on the caravan site, great location. Bar and restaurant excellent.

This hotel is situated in a lovely spot with a great view of Cemis spot. Staff were very friendly. Our room was nicely decorated and had a great view of the bay. The coastal path is just at the bottom of the garden. We spent a pleasant January night here, after a lovely walk along the coastal path.
