Currently my vote for best fish and chips on Morecambe. Cash only.

Best chippie I've had in years!

Was told this was the best chippy in Morecambe and don’t see how it could have been better. Big portions at very reasonable prices with no soggy chips or thick greasy batter. My son had the mini fish and chips for £5.00 and we had chip butties for £3.80 each. Will definitely be back 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Poor quality. Fish and the chips weren’t fresh.

Visited today and came to the cafe because of good reviews. Wasn’t disappointed. Fish was freshly cooked to order. We had Fish and scampi. Both were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend

Best fish and chips ever. Both the fish and the chips were crispy and the mushy peas were tasty. My friend had a pot of tea and I had a coffee. Usually the coffee served in chippies is quite weak but the bays was lovely. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, definitely going to go and eat here again when we come back to morecambe.

Best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time! My first time in Morecambe and checked the reviews of this place. You won’t be disappointed, honestly! Lovely lady that runs the place. Light, crispy batter and perfectly cooked chips. Even the mushy peas were out of this world!! Note: cash only so get to a cash point before coming for a delicious treat.

Friendly staff and delicious food. A good portion size at a fair price, just wish I'd noticed the vegetarian options before ordering. It was cash only.

Called in here this evening after the cinema with the kids was very surprised to see how reasonable priced the food was ..we decided to sit in and have food ,very good big portions and great service from Tracey and the young man definitely recommend this place and food great👍

The place in Morecambe to go for Haggis and Chips. Plus all the favorites of a traditional Fish and Chip Shop.

All the staff are very polite and curtious whether you are eating in or taking out

Absolutely beautiful fish, chips and peas. The batter is real light. The husband asked for a man's fish. It was huge. The staff are so welcoming and lovely. Thank for the best food. Love the Blackburn crew xxx

Bay cafe was fab! I went especially to the cafe as previous reviews said they sold gluten free fish and chips. They didn't disappoint, I had delicious poached fish with chips and mushy peas. We were able to eat in, avoiding the seagulls and with ample sauces & condiments. The staff were very friendly, allergy aware and very efficient. If you want delicious gf fish and chips and you're in Morecambe give them a visit!

Fab little chippy in Morecombe. We visited whilst on holiday, the kids didn't want to eat chips by the sea because of the seagulls to we opted to sit in at the Bay Cafe. The staff were so helpful and kind, brill with the kids. Portion sizes were great, kids meals were huge. My son had the fish and said it was the best fish he'd ever had. Peas were lovely. I'd highly recommend the Bay Cafe and we will certainly be back when we're ever in the area

After a walk along the beachfront we called in the Bay Cafe due to good food ratings - it didn't disappoint and the fish, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce was made to perfection. Lovely crispy batter and fruity curry sauce - would definitely recommend.

A classic chippy in morcombe, cod meal which was fish chips and peas came to 11 pound each. Which is fine if the product is great in this case not so much. Was a little greasy meaning oil was under temp or the chips were not fresh. The portion for the price was not large either. Fish was good and the batter crispy. So not all negative don't know if I'd try again could have been down to the place being busy.

Wow!! Fish amazing, chips lovely. What was really impressive the way the fish was handled, with care not squashed and thrown together. The two people servicing us we, really nice lovely atmosphere they created was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend, one large fish and medium chips plenty for us two for lunch. Sat on the sea front watching the sea, can't get better.

Excellent chippy - traditional fish and chips, really friendly and helpful staff. Also very hot on allergens and were very happy to accommodate my little boy’s multiple allergies, which is hard to find! Definitely recommend.

very disappointed chips were like mush gravy was watery the battered sausages were alright but were a bit hard and batter tasted like flour but the staff lovely and the service was good

Fantastic chip shop. Randomly went from carlisle to Morecambe for fish n chips with family , cafe was take away only but it was quite windy , very kindly opened the cafe part for us and let us dine in , will definitely be back , thanks very much

Traveled from Manchester to get a chippy tea. Sat in the cafe and had the fish and chips with mushy peas. The best fish and chips I’ve had in years would recommend this place to everyone. Our 9 year old son had the jumbo sausage and ate the the lot. Julie was very friendly and her customer service was brilliant

The fish was superb..... The chips... Not so. Very crunchy and tiny.

Worst chips we've ever eaten, May as well as asked fir a tray of scraps because they were exactly that, scrappy thin overcooked and greasy. Awful will never eat from here again

Was busy and can be a good sign which in this case it was. Both fish and chips were freshly cooked whilst I waited. Tasted ace...

Food is always good from here, but it closes way too early. Just about every other takeaway on Queen Street is open late, but this place closes at half 7 or so, even on weekends. It's a shame, as this is the only fish n chip shop (everywhere else is pizzas, burgers and kebabs). Often really long queues too. Staff seem to get overwhelmed - wouldn't be hard it would be to have more than one member of staff (and they do have multiple staff) putting people's orders together at busy times. Also, it's cash only, for your information.

I really wanted to enjoy the fish and chips from here, queue outside, lovely staff, but the chips were terrible, greasy, crispy, clearly the dregs of the batch. Should've given us a fresher batch I didn't want to be sat on the toilet for the evening.

Visited BH Monday just gone. Service from the 2 ladies was excellent. Very nice people. Fish was nice. Curry sauce was standard. My son liked his sausages. Unfortunately the chips were a let down and need improvement, hence this review. A lot were too thin like scraps and need to be thicker and they need to use richer potatoes as to me they tasted like they had chipped unnamed "white potatoes" from a supermarket.

Visited Morecombe for the first time today. Googled fish & chips near me and found this gem. Nice to see a great British family run chippy , ordered small cod and chips in a tray to take away , huge portion and being a southerner had gravy on my chips for the first time , Wow so nice and the fish batter was narley and so crispy just like when I was a young boy in the 70's growing up proper old fashioned quality batter and they even do crispy bits or scraps if your a northerner lol . My fella had chips and curry sauce and loved it , best chips he ever tasted he said. Really reasonably priced and you can eat in if you prefer. Top marks guys keep up the good work. 👍

Called for a fish and chip treat for me , my wife and my elderly father. The fish was excellent and good chips all freshly cooked when we ordered. Very safe environment under the current circumstances , the staff here take their safety measures seriously. Recommended

After eating at this cafe all the people that had the fish have had food poisoning today its been a very unhappy holiday experience

The highlight of our trip to Morecombe, the only positive of that day, an absolute gem of a chippy. Fish, perfect. Batter, perfect. Chips, perfect. The lady serving was so friendly even though she was busy. Very limited eating in availability.

Just had cod chips and a can for £10. Old school and really tasty. Careful, there was a traffic van with a speed gun on the into Morecambe.

Best chippy in Morecambe but sadly not open all year round. The chips are wonderful, the staff are lovely, the decor is fun and the gravy is out of this world!

The queue was out the door when I first passed. Waited an hour and came back to see what the fuss was about. Excellent service, excellent food. If you’re looking for a classic chippy in Morecambe this is the place to go. Dog friendly and there’s a small seating area. There’s also veggie burgers and a veggie sausage if your dogs a vegetarian.

I was at function next door to bay cafe & unfortunately the caterers let us down last minute, bay cafe saved the day by providing the function with pies, sausages, chips, buns, gravy & peas which went down very well with the guest & the food was delicious. The two lads working could not of been more helpful, polite & friendly if they tried. Would happily recommend bay cafe. Thank you for being wonderfully professional (:

My wife & I were driving from the Lake District back to Devon today & thought we’d visit Morecambe on the way back! Nipped into this chippy at random & it was amazing! I had fish, chips & peas & my wife had steak pudding & chips both really good. Lady who works there was awesome & really nice to chat to & the young fella impressed my wife with his singing 😂

The trick is to know the best place for fish and chips at the sea. It's usually just off the sea front. The Bay Cafe is a lovely cafe / takeaway, with incredible fish. Look at this monster. Lovely food, and great staff. Thanks.

Popped in today to get some fish and chips to eat on the front with our dog. The lovely ladies let us all sit in to eat and enjoy 😋 They we’re absolutely gorgeous. The chips were perfect and the batter for the fish was light and crispy. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Morcombe
