9:20pm - I ordered a 'medium' pizza which took 50minutes to arrive. It's saturday, they must be busy, I am not going to make a big deal. I did receive a mall box though, with a tiny pizza inside that ultimately cost me £28 in total. The starting price was £15 on Devlieroo but with extra charges etc somehow i got to nearly £30. When I phoned the shop, no apologies, I was quickly dismissed with a new 'medium' pizza on the way. 11:10pm a knock at the door and another tiny pizza delivered. Dinner is definitely ruined. Note to the kitchen: Every time I had your pizza I ended waking up in the middle of the night badly thirsty for water which does not go away even after drinking 1lt of water. You might want to reconsider the salt in the pizza dough. The bitter end: Not worth the money..definitely not worth the wait. Basilico (in general) used to be a great place to order pizza, expensive but worth it. Not anymore. I will not order from them again as this is a chain issue not just this shop.

Definitely recommended for customer service and gluten free pizza. Ingredients are at an acceptable quality

Real Italian taste of pizza, polite customer service, friendly staff, I love this place. I must say if you like Italian pizza you must try once.

Very good service & great taste of Pizza very delicious never had the unique taste before, spoken to guys who was working they said just took over and made lots of changes in shop, I think this new management will hoover up the competition once everyone try their new pizzas.

Got a takeaway from here, it took 80mins to arrive and only arrived after I called to check the progress. They don't monitor there own takeaway page they just really on delivero service. Once they realised I had a order it was rushed and had ingredients on it I didn't order. Used to be great years ago but now its not worth it.

32£ seriously ?? For 2 cold, wood texture with huge empty bubbles, very poor toppings, super small sized pizzas ! Be sure we will never get my money again ! People deserve yummy pizzas at great prices, this place will rip you off !

Giving 1 because there’s no 0. We ordered a pizza last Friday At 8.15 pm and selected the 45 minutes delivery slot was available. Pizza turned up 3 hours later at 11.15 pm! At that point we had ordered food somewhere else and most disappointing is that no one ever picked up the phone or bothered to contact us to let us know the order was coming late or a chance to cancel the order. Payment was taken straight away though! I then wrote to customer service the day after but stil no reply or offer of a refund. If you have to many orders and can’t deliver, you should say it. Not just accept payments and turn up with the food three hours later! Overall food is overpriced and again terrible service. Never again! Cristina

I’m a old customer, this evening I ordered a pizza Margherita with double mozzarella, the mozzarella was absent and the tomato as well the pizza was like a wood... the driver( this is not the first time) find excuses to give me the change, every time is with not enough change. This is the last time with basilico pizza. Bye bye...

Basilico pizza is a joke. It is so small and really expensive. I just can’t comprehend why they still are in business.

They took payment but did not deliver pizza or call us. The restaurant then closed and they didn't answer the phone. Do not go near this restaurant.

Yes of course I knew the price in advance but when the pizzas arrived I was really hoping that they would taste better than the appearance. I cannot believe that they will continue as a business unless they change both prices and ingredients. I had the margarita and it easy like bland cheese on toast. Sorry Basilico but never again.

The most overpriced badly cooked and disgusting pizza I’ve ever had. I ordered takeaway, when it arrived the pizza was so tiny and undercooked that I thought it was a joke and a mistake had been made. When I called up to question, rude staff could only tell me that there was nothing they wanted to do. NEVER choose this place, I am so surprised they are still in business given the competition in Islington.

Horrible pizza with no toppings! Admittedly I changed some topppngs, but for more cheese not less!!! I can’t believe what a rip off this was, and when I complained I got a very stroppy man who told me it was my fault for changing the toppings. I wouldn’t mind but I never complain about service. This pizza was VILE please don’t waste your money here.

Pizza was awful, dry and tasteless. Salad of beetroot and mozzarella was really a bowl of leaves. Asked for refund but got nowhere and the manager was rude

I have ordered few times and the quality decreased all the times. The first was ok the last one was just disgusting. I think this rubbish shouldn't cost so much!

Nos alojamos en un hotel cerca de Basilico, y me apetecía pizza, así que hicimos un pedido en Deliveroo. Nos tomó alrededor de 25 minutos de hacer el pedido para la comida para llegar, pero en el momento en que llegué aquí fue muy fría!

Soy italiano y me gusta mucho la escena pizza londres: hay buenas pizzas allí y yo quería probar este Basilico.

Pedimos una enorme pizza de queso vegano y no nos decepcionó. La entrega fue en tiempo, así que no estábamos colgando fuera del hotel esperando. Era precioso y el queso vegetariano delicioso! Lo recomiendo encarecidamente y sin duda el fin de nuevo cuando esté en Londres! Me encantaría que si ofrecen más coberturas como carne falsa, etc. pero por ahora no nos podemos quejar! Gracias! !

Pedí una pizza de anoche justo antes de la tienda era debido a (para la entrega). Hablaba de un caballero agradable que con rapidez dentro de 35 minutos a la recepción de mi edificio. La comida era justo lo que pedimos pizza crujiente y excepcional tiramisu. Sin duda lo recomiendo. Genial tener una cerveza helada entregado también!

Para ser sincero, me parecía siempre en cosas titulado gourmet (la ironía), pero ya he visto unos por un tiempo yo pensaba que no podía ser tan malo.

I have been ordering pizza from basilico finchley central for a while now and everytime the pizza has been delivered on time and tasted delicious. they are so much better than of the large pizza chains, from where had ordered my pizzas before....... never again

We went for the top-range tartuffo porcini - and the porcini mushrooms and truffle oil had a fine flavour. As we're vegetarian it was very helpfully suggested that we had artichokes instead of the meat, and that worked well. Delivery was efficient and billing very professional. Taste was very pleasing. My only reservation - and this, I realise, is about ALL home delivery pizzas - is that when they arrive (even if originally wood-fired from an oven) they seem floppy and lack the crispness and heat where you can balance the thin base and its generously flavoursome topping rigidly on a fistful of fingers extended to support it like five spindles from below! The real test? I have to get a pizza fresh from an accomplished specialist restaurant direct onto my plate if it is not to disappoint, though the Basilico guys were first class.

After ordering a 13 inch pizza and a bottle of wine that came to £26. I sat back and waited for delivery. Upon arrival the pizza was not even room temperature or even tepid it was freezing. I called back to complain and was told buy some idiot on the phone that it wasnt cold it was hot and absolutely refused to send another one. he seemed to think i was calling for the fun of it and was basically lying. I have had such bad customer service since about 1991.Will never order from them again

Surprised to see some bad reviews here. We've been ordering from Basilico Islington for 8 years and never had a problem. Pizzas are excellent, not greasy and very tasty. The few times when they've been late, they have called to let us know beforehand.

The pizza is ok and they messed up our order but they did get us another pizza pretty much straight away. I would not order again anytime soon

The pizza was well made and the ingredients seemed good quality, which to my mind sets them apart from the generic pizza places and the big names in delivery. The food is good (if a little salty) and delivered promptly (within 20 minutes although I suspect it wasn't a peak night and I live nearby). The main downside is the price which means that this is more of an occasional treat rather than a regular fall-back.

Totally overpriced. Ordered 2 pizzas and a side salad, no tomato sauce on the 4 Cheeses pizza and no dressing on the salad! Honestly, next time I want cheese on toast, I'll make it myself. You would expect for £6.95, they would manage to add dressing to the salad... But no. Never going again.

Pizzas and garlic bread very good but tiramisu made from panettone with sultanas? No, no, no! As an Italian restaurant, surely they can a staple Italian dessert right?

BASILICO PIZZA is so far THE BEST OF THE BEST quality food take away and delivery that i have ever had . I ORDER FROM MY OFFICE ON AN AVERAGE OF 3 DAYS A WEEK. Here in London take aways and deliveries are so crap and chewy and plastic and awful and disgusting. BASILICO IS REALLY THE TOP , and you are hearing it from a proper Italian woman who loves fine food and hardly orders food delivery. SO WELL DONE BASILICO, keep the high quality you have with the fair price, i'm proud of you .

I had delivery pizza on Saturday night. I ordered pizza Roma that it was supposed to come with buffalo mozzarella. unfortunately my pizza was totally covered with tomato sauce and I couldn't even seen the mozzarella on it, the same for flakes of Parmesan, literally 4flakes!!! Tasteless pizza!!! I'm Italian and please trust me guys the real Italian pizza is very far from that one they make in Basilico!!!

The only thing they know doing well at Basilico is to charge high prices. Otherwise pizza is mediocre on par with supermarket pizza.

I had a pizza from the new Basilico in Finchley Central. This is not on trip advisor but I am so disappointed in the pizza I had to write a review on here. We ordered 5 pizzas and they are not cheap. I was expecting something special and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. All of the pizzas were cold. Mine which I chose because it had goats cheese was a sloppy mess the goats cheese was minimal. There were on a 18 inch pizza only a few pieces about 1/2 cm. we called immediately to complain to be told that goats cheese was expensive. I was so unhappy I drove to Finchley Central from N20 to complain. The manager basically called me a liar as he insisted the pizzas were hot and they told me to study the picture and see there was not much goats cheese shown in the picture of the Sicilian. I did not realise I had to choose my pizza from a picture. If it says goats cheese I expect goats cheese especially for the price they charged. I was given the option of another pizza which I did not want or half my money back as we had eaten some of it. My daughter was so hungry so had eaten a couple of slices. I will never use them again nor recommend them. I would rather buy a frozen Dr Oetker.

I have ordered pizzas via their online facility to be delivered on two separate occasions to the office for lunch. both times, the pizzas have arrived, hot, cooked and delicious. the only thing I would say, they do take over an hour to arrive. but well worth the wait. Really not sure why the other reviews on here are so different to mine. in my opinion; they are the best Pizzas I have ever eaten in this country. one of my colleagues is Italian, he loves them !

Ordered the 18 inch marg during the week and was impressed so much so I ordered another at the weekend. Unfortunately it was nothing like the first one -the grated cheese was barely half melted the dough not cooked enough and cold! Not sure if I've just been unlucky tonight or was lucky earlier in the week getting a good one! It's in the oven now to try and finish off cooking hopefully it will come out ok!

Spent a Sunday in the office and had to order takeout. As I prefer gluten-free I was happy to find this place after a quick Google search. Over £20 for a small pizza, and green salad (extortionate price) but I had no time to be choosy so placed my order online and promised delivery within 45 minutes.1 hour later, no pizza, so I called - rude unhelpful lady said the delivery driver is leaving in '2 minutes'. Called back 20 minutes later, they said he left 20 minutes ago.Eventually, after one hour and 30 minutes, my pizza turns up stone cold. The base was completely undercooked and inedible.By this time, I was starving, and would happily have eaten a mediocre pizza, however this was just disgusting.No less than 3 calls later, the manager agree's reluctantly to refund the cost of the pizza (but not the salad.) No apology, no attempt to re-gain my custom. (Trust me, an apology and offer to try again on the house could have resulted changing my mind completely - but none of this, and the manager had absolutely no awareness of customer service.)

First attempted to order an 18-inch Basilico pizza online by card but after several attempts, the card used was persistently declined. Really hungry and craving for pizza now so we ordered online to pay in cash.Delivery time was OK but considering that I was a 10 minute walk from the place, the service speed could have been better.The real downside was that after paying and giving the delivery guy a £20 note, with the pizza costing £17.95, he only gave 50p back! He tried rummaging through his pockets and eventually said 'sorry I have no change'. Now I know I have the right as a customer to be mad at him and the service but really wasn't in the mood to have a dog fit so I left it at that.Only advice is that next time they deliver pizzas when they know that their customer is paying by cash, please do have a couple of change on them. Not 1p or 50p! We are living in a world where poverty is inevitable so every penny helps.Moving on to the real deal:I'm glad I chose the pizza with chicken, green bell peppers and feta cheese. The colours weren't too enticing but the pizza wasn't greasy unlike what you'd get from Dominos or Pizza Hut. That was good for me. I Ate half of the 18-inch (4 slices) and was satisfied by the end of it.Reading through others' reviews, I think my pizza was decent because, as I've alreayd mentioned, I live 10 minute walk away from the place. Perhaps other reviewers live further away so there's no doubt a fire-cooked pizza would go stale after 30 minutes or more.

Ordered on a recommendation from a friend and at about £8 dearer than I would normally pay I thought I'd give it a try.I ordered mushrooms on my vegetarian pizza and after an hour it arrived with squidgy tinned mushrooms, luke warm and unsliced so had to cut it myself. Will not be ordering from them again.

We have been long standing customers of Basilico Islington. Tonight we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for a cold Margarita pizza. It's not the first time we have waited so long but it was the first time the pizza has arrived stone cold. We were offered a new pizza - nice gesture - but couldn't bear the thought of another interminable wait, especially as the pizza was for hungry kids. Will not use Basilico again.

Delivery time is hit and miss - and when they get it wrong (as in the guy never shows up) instead of apologising they repeat incessantly that it is YOUR fault, you didn't answer the door, or you must have changed address, or there were wolves in the street... And when you start getting irritated they tell you to be calm or they will BLACKLIST YOU! Do me a favour fire the idiot gangster with the arrogant manners and bad attitude who answers calls and teach your employees that is ok to apologise to customers occasionally.

I never normally do reviews but very annoyed by Basilico. Pizza arrived cold and with so much tomato sauce on it you couldn't tast anything but that. Called to complain and was offered a 20% discount on next order. Complained some more and was offered %50 off next order.There won't be a next order and the worst thing is I'm still hungry! Shame as they have been okay in the past, has there been a change of management or was I just lucky last time?!

I ordered a takeaway pizza from Basilico today, together with a blackberry, blueberry and raspberry smoothie, and was really disappointed. The pizza was soggy and barely cooked (I had to put it back in the oven myself!) and the smoothie was very milky and had barely any fruit in it. I can't have milk so was disappointed that this was the case and that the milk content wasn't mentioned at all on the website - it sounded like it would be a pure fruit smoothie. Won't be using them again...

This has to be the best pizza I have ever had. Only they are a bit on the expensive side. They have an Italian chef.

I am surprised by other reviews (possibly fake?). Basilico has the closest thing to authentic Italian wood fired oven pizza I have tasted in London since moved here. Service good as well, delivery usually under 40min, all pizzas come on a sheet of airy paper to prevent sogginess. Quite costly though.

I've had a few pizzas from tower bridge road. the first pizza ( roma) was absolutely terrible. i complained and the manager in fairness gave me a voucher. I've had a few since and generally they are poor, often cold, or over cooked, or not cooked, or burnt, or little topping which isn't what you expect for £18. I've given up on this place and can't be bothered to complain anymore. best avoid it. some of the positive reviews on trip advisor seem a bit suspect to me

I am led to believe that none of Basilico's pizzas are suitable for vegetarians (not even their so-called "Vegetarian" pizza!), as they use cheeses made with animal rennet. Despite repeatedly writing to them to query this point, they have never responded, which I think speaks volumes. Given the current horse meat scandal, it also makes me wonder whether there is anything else they are deliberately keeping quiet about...

Pizza was tasty but slightly cold on delivery. I'm not sure how they can justify charging £10+ for a small 10 inch pizza though. They need to be much more competitive.

Today I ordered a 18" Roma pizza to be delivery, I wait 55 minute and comes completely uncooked so I call to complain and the manager apology, I ask for another pizza and hi ask me to give back the uncooked pizza, I wait another 55 minute for a new pizza and when come was missing some ingredient and cold. Plus they didn't give me any discount or something. Very bad expiriance.

The website talks the talk and the and menu looks good but the pizza itself (18" Roma) was truly appalling: Burned and black on both top and bottom, stone cold on delivery, almost no cheese on the topping, stingy on the prosciutto (estimate maybe 2 slices ripped up to be distributed over the whole thing), and covered in a sea of rocket leaves which had the gritty texture to the bite of not having been washed properly. Like most people I love good pizza, and a thin, chewy base that isn't drowning in cheap ingredients is a very admirable goal. But it's all well and good talking about the high quality of ingredients and authenticity of flavour as long as it's delivered. It's just not good enough when the execution is so stingy and so lazy. I will not be using this company for pizza in the future.

Fast and priced about right. Being from NYC I love my pizza... This place does a fine job for a UK pizza. Kind of like Pizza express but delivered. Ordering online can get you discounts.

Delivery only but who cares - that's the point! Perfect thin bases, not overloaded with crap topping... great pizza.
