Family run b&b, restaurant, and bar. When you first walk in, it's a beautiful rustic atmosphere with a fire-place going. No lifts in this b&b so be ready to walk the stairs! Lights have not been fixed so the hallways were a little dark at night. Occasionally no hot water at night. The room is beautiful, clean and comfortable... but might not have enough power switches.Slightly noisy at night because of the shops next to the b&b. But it makes things convenient if you need to get something. The food in the restaurant is amazingly delightful.... Reasonably priced from 7 pounds to 30 pounds. You can pay either in euros or pounds. Good, friendly and bonus points for helpful staff.Overall enjoyed my stay. It's clean, good food, friendly staff..... will come back to stay if in the area.

See all the other positive reviews which I enthusiastically second!!! Ballygawley at one end of the Clogher Valley is an old Market village just off the junction of inmportant routes to Belfast, Dublin, Enniskillen, Omagh, Derry/Londonderry. You can even find Rugs and Saddle-bags all the way from Afghanistan in Suitor's Gallery -check it out.

Habíamos reservado una mesa y unos pocos minutos más tarde. No parecían tener nuestro nombre.

The manager has a very poor attitude and the accomodation is as bad, if not worse. If you are thinking about staying here please don't. It's over priced, dirty and really lacking in anything positive once you leave the bar or restaurant.

We stayed one night in this would-be B&B and it was dreadfull. The evening meal was served after 45 min of waiting and we both still suffer from pain in the tummy since. Breakfast was even worse. The view of our room was horrible and there was a lot of noise from running water and ventilators. The staf dis friendly but they really don't know how to run a B&B. We had great experiences with different B&B 's in Ireland in the past weeks. Know we feel even more grateful, realising that it can also be very different.

On our return from camping in Enniskillen we stopped overnight at this lovely friendly B. & B. before our Belfast sailing home next day. We were given a warm welcome and Emmitt noting our preference for a safe home for our trailer tent summoned his father who generously offered the facilities of the family home for storage. Next morning the trailer tent was delivered to the B. & B. and hitched on to the car by his father. What more could we ask? Grateful customers, Veronica & Eddie Yarwood

Meet and greet was good by a very pleasant young man -seats drinks menu etc. We shared the most delicious mussel starter, fantastic sauce, with bread - really enjoyable. So scrumptious I was sorry we shared. I ordered lamb chops which were cooked rare as I had asked. The onion and rosemary gravy was good. The chops were perfectly cooked apart from a gristle type skin on the outside which was unedible and wasnt nice. They were just badly trimmed by the butcher. I like the fat but not gristle. My wife had sea bass which she really enjoyed - there was however a bit too much sauce and the baby boiled potatoesr slightly burnt. She did enjoy it despite these slight errors. One shared dessert - creme brulee was delicious along with cream/ice cream despite them not having the short bread as was on the menu. All in all we enjoyed our meal in very pleasant surroundings - I would just like to remind the staff that attention to detail to make our experience more memorable is paramount to achieving happy diners.

My husband and myself visited the last Friday of July coinciding with payday. Availed of the steak offer -2 steaks and all the trimmings with a bottle of wine . Easily the nicest steak I have had in a long time. Lovely bottle of red wine . Would really recommend visiting on a Friday night .

I am not one to write reviews but after reading the message below I felt I had to as this place deserves nothing but credit! The Tailors house is a beautiful place with friendly staff, anyone that served us 'didn't seem too good to be serving us'. My Friends and I went here and really all we were concerned about was good food and drink, not what the waitress etc had on their feet. The food was tasty and fresh and the cocktails to wash it down were even better. The atmosphere was great full of chat and laughter, not suited to everyone's needs maybe some people should stay at home and enjoy their own company. This place has been brought back to life from what it was before and therefore should be credited. Also it is only opened 4 months, so they are still finding their feet- maybe people should realise that instead of looking at people's feet in the restaurant! I recommend this place to anyone who is looking a light lunch or an evening meal with a few drinks! You will not be disappointed!!

myself and my partner decided to go for a meal, we had been before and it wasn't as bad as this experience, as we arrived there was no staff around so we waited and we were greeted with 'aye sit anywhere you want' no welcome or hello, we then sat down and waited a good ten minutes until approached with a menu, as we looked at the menu we watched two members of staff gallivanting around the restaurant not in professional attire either wearing a pair of nike trainers, the waitress then came and took our order in the most unpleasant manner as if she was too good to serve anyone, I was appalled, we waited a good length of time on out meal which was the steak with triple coked chips we were never even asked how we would liked it cooked I had to call her back to request it!! when we eventually got it the design of the dish was different again some things were left out and it looked very miserable, the chips 'triple cooked' were hard straight through, I cant even go on to explain about he dessert heated n a microwave through into a bowl with ice-cream slapped on top, lukewarm! such a let down to the establishment a lot of staff training is needed, so unprofessional sitting eating and shouting and laughing throughout the place. I hope this is taken into consideration as its such a beautiful place to have such bad qualities

It's now called The Tailor's House. We called in at 3pm, and had the place virtually to ourselves. Often, we're told "Lunch is over" around that time, but got a great welcome here.Bill Clinton ate here once too.The burger was huge, and came with proper hand-cut chips. The Thai curry was tangy and fiery. The surroundings are fresh and homely, and Ballygawley has long been Ireland's top spot for comedy driving, so sit at a window table for the show. Ballygawley parking? Tramp on the brakes and throw the door open!Take extra care driving here.Very good value, with good service and pleasant surroundings. We intend to stop here again

Called into this cafe for a quick break from motorway driving. I ordered tea. My friend ordered cappuccino, and chocolate fudge cake. After a very long wait, our order arrived. My tea was fine. Good and hot. My friend's cappuccino was lukewarm and watery. Didn't much resemble cappuccino. She drank a few mouthfuls and left it. The 'hot chocolate fudge cake' arrived, and we both looked at it incredulously. The girl asked if it was ok, but we were too stunned to reply. It had obviously been microwaved within an inch of it's life, and exploded . Not only that, but it seemed to consist of three ' shavings ' of cake, put together to make one piece, and wouldn't have fed a mouse. An absolute insult to serve to anybody. There was a bit of ice cream on the side, and even this was bigger than the cake. My friend decided to politely send it back . She was met with unfriendly curtness when she did so. To top off this 'wonderful experience', when we came to pay, the guy who served us was silent, poker faced, and slapped my change on the counter!Life is too short for putting up with this sort of experience. Whatever happened to old fashioned courtesy and good manners? One expects more from people in the hospitality sector.

While traveling from Derry to Monaghan, we found ourselves approaching the border, hungry with pockets full of British steriing we wanted to spend. We stumbled upon this place and were so pleasantly surprised. Looking at the menu, we chose the burger, largely because it was sourced from the butcher, literally, across the street, and probably from a cow within a few mile radius of where we sat! It was large, delicious and served on a floury bun with sauteed onions. NIce side salad and chips. So important to have decent food while on the road! It was so fun to see that Bill Clinton had eaten there in 2001! They have photos of the visit all over the restaurant and a signature "Bill Clinton" burger on the menu.

Had lunch here in February with friends.... lovely open prawn sandwich, but the real winner were the gorgeous deserts... I had a lemon and white chocolate cheesecake which was sooo light and beautiful!! The others had a white chocolate chip mousse which they still are raving about!! Service was a little slow but it was worth it. The only down side was that the restaurant was cold, although the waiter said the heat was on. I had to wrap my coat around my daughter’s legs while she still wore her own :(

There's Askins where lunch is under £5 but in my opinion Austins has a full main-course lunch for just over £5 which is better value and you have a number of good choices, and particularly on Fridays they do a salmon dish which is excellent. You really should try this! Austins is at the top of Main Street of this interesting village at the junction of the N2 from Dublin, the main road from Enniskillen to Belfast and the main road from Omagh to Belfast. You can even have really good coffee and scones at the Suter Gallery, filled with all kinds of interesting knicknacks, including handmade rugs and saddle bags from AFGHANISTAN, if you please!! In all three places the service is as usual, friendly, efficient and memorable. You can lean on the old stone bridge over the Ballygawley River with its good fishing and meditate and contemplate or watch the local folk top up their fuel tanks at the Motor repairers close by.From Ballygawley, a typical country village at the northern end of the Clogher Valley, you can whizz up to Belfast all the way on the M1 motorway. Or you could visit ancient Clogher St.Macartan's Cathedral, author Charleton's home patch, and maybe pick up some of the really special artesan cheeses..

Happened to be passing through Ballygawley on Saturday last felt hungury and decided to try Askins for something to eat. Got a Beef burger and chips with veg and peepered sauce for only £4:95. The burger was made from scratch and I could taste the beef in it, the chips where also homemade and where made even more delicious with the peepered sauce. The rseturant itself was cousy and warm and tastfully decorative. The service was pleasant and polite and the food only took about 10minutes to be served after we made our order. Overall I can say Askins is a wonderfull restuarant which I intend to return to.
