Lovely food and not rushed between courses.Good value for money and Sophie the young lady who took our order was lovely and helpful and a great asset to the restaurant.

Went for birthday meal on Saturday 26th October 2024, starters and mains was lovely, but very disappointed with the desert Myself and my wife both had the poached pair, I would of thought a poached pair would be soft so you can use a spoon to eat it, but not this one, it was that hard it offered me out!!!!! Had to nick a knife and fork off another table to tackle it,,,,did ask the girl who served us who was lovely by the way, had a word with her boss,said it should be soft,but blamed the suppliers, I would of thought it's the chefs that poached the pairs Not the suppliers,,,,shame the meal ended like that, because overall food was good, But should of been more honest with the desert, and maybe offered something else.

The service was amazing, the staff were friendly and always circled around to make sure everything was good. And most of all the food was great. Would definitely be back! :)

Where to start? Our first evening out at Miller and Carter was an amazing experience from going in to coming out. As a birthday/retirement gift from our daughter Nicola, an all expenses paid gift!! Bless her. We were greeted in the reception area by a lovely cheerful and chatty girl who showed us to our table and introduced us to our steak expert for the night Sinead. The atmosphere was wonderfully intimate with subtle lighting and professionally set tables. As we perused the extensive food and drinks menus our steak expert came over to us. I really don't think we could have chosen a better expert to guide us throughout our experience that night. Sinead is an extremely knowledgeable, friendly, again chatty but very pleasant with it. She couldn't do enough for us all evening. We ordered our drinks and a wonderful bottle of wine then our meals. Our starters arrived in a timely fashion. Perfectly prepared and not over facing like you get in other restaurants. It was delicious. Part of the menu choice consisted of a lettuce wedge of which you chose a dressing to your liking which you could nibble on throughout the evening, this was also delicious. Sinead repeatedly came over, but not annoyingly so, to make sure everything was ok. Our main meal, steak of course!, was cooked to perfection as was our choice of sauce and fries accompaniment. Again not over facing. This, again, was delicious. Afterwards we were offered the dessert menu which we declined having had enough beforehand. Soon after Sinead brought a small creamed dessert on a large plate for me as a special 'on the house' surprise. Around the cream dessert was written, in a toffee sauce, Happy Birthday, which was a very touching extra I wasn't expecting. Overall our experience was fantastic and we would recommend the Miller and Carter restaurant to anybody who was thinking of dining out at a top notch place. Five stars all day long and thank you Sinead for being there for us. Ian x

If you’re a foodie like us, you’ll love this place! The menu has a fantastic selection of Steaks/dishes, and we loved everything we tried. Highly recommend the 10oz fillet steak & the chargrilled veggies, it by far exceeded all our expectations! Bethany our waitress truly cares about her guests. She was attentive, courteous, and polite and made us feel like VIPs. The service was impeccable from start to finish and she ensured every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. We can’t wait to come back!

Came tonight for my husband’s birthday meal. The food was outstanding! The food we ordered was full of flavour and cooked to perfection! The service we received from Bethany was top-notch. She was very attentive and made excellent recommendations and was very knowledgeable regarding the menu! Hands down, some of the best food & Service we’ve had and we will definitely be returning!

Went on Monday and was extremely happy with the experience and the service. Our server was Maggie who was very polite and friendly. Highly recommended as it was great throughout.

very overrated, starters took almost an hour to arrive, and then mains another 35-40 mins and then asked for the bill around 5 times and finally got it another half an hour later and i genuinely had abt 10 chips and the smallest ribs which were mostly fat not much meat or bbq sauce.

If you’re ever passing this wonderful restaurant, you should definitely call in, the food, staff and atmosphere are amazing, it’s well worth a visit. I must make a very special mention of a wonderful member of staff called Maggie who looked after us, she couldn’t do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. Now we cannot wait to return.

I visited with my partner on Thursday! Jasmine and her colleagues, they were all very lovely and welcoming!! We were pleased with our steaks, and I always love the onion loaf that comes alongside!!! The only thing I'd say is the fries weren't the best - almost tasted a bit stale like they'd been left out a while. But other than that, really enjoyed the food!

We went here for a birthday meal, the food was amazing as always and the service was spot on. The only negative I have is that the light at the table was hanging off the wall with wires exposed, and the general lighting was rather poor... it was quite dark.

Service was fair, had to wait a long time for our food, which we had been recommended to have. The food was poor, both steaks were very fatty and really chewy, and the chunky chips for £1extra were just frozen chunky chips, I'm sorry but for 65 quid for a starter of garlic bread nibbles and 2 steaks with chips, I at least expect homemade chips and a steak I can chew. Addition after response. Not even an apology, makes me wonder that they are that far up their own bottoms, they don't think their food can be rubbish, maybe it was a one off, but a sorry for your experience goes a long way.

This was our 1st visit to The Miller and Carter (it wont be our last) we were looked after by Maggie (at Ashton Under Lyne) who was amazing and a definite asset to the company, the menu was extensive, we chose to have a 3 course for £15.50 per person, such a reasonable price, the food was served hot and not only was it a visual feast it was delicious and plentiful, if i had to give a star rating it would be 5 star, a must for anyone wanting good food at a reasonable price.

Lovely meal and was looked after very well by Estela. I did order medium rare steak which came a little underdone than expected but Estela took away my food and brought me a whole fresh meal which was a huge surprise and unexpected. Would definitely recommend her. Thank you.
