Armandos Pizza in East Renfrewshire

Ive visited Armandos regularly since he first opened over 30 years ago.Consistent high quality, quick service, friendly staff. A definite go-to of mine for lunch any time I'm in the area.👍. A wee tip! Phone your order ahead to save waiting as it's always busy.

Having been a customer for around the last 30 years, this is simply the best and only place to order pizza from.

Been ordering a pepperoni and crushed chillies pizza every couple of weeks for the past two years - usually a great wee pizza, but last night there was something foul or rancid on or in the pizza and we couldn’t eat more than a few bites. Mother-in-law actually spat it out. We called for a refund and they said they’d send a second one before a refund as it was likely a one-off but the second pizza was exactly the same. Called back and was told to ring them again the next day to talk to a manager about it. The next day, had a frustrating 5 minute call where the manager explained that the shop simply doesn’t do refunds, especially since we’ve just received two pizzas. Didn’t seem to matter that they were inedible! We brought them down to the shop to prove we hadn’t actually eaten them and were told the same - it’s simply impossible for something to go wrong in their kitchen or with their ingredients apparently, as no one else had called in to complain. Absolutely no way to get my money back for an inedible disgusting pizza - we know what it’s supposed to taste like, it’s our consistent order! Very frustrating to be told you’re either lying or not tasting something correctly, so we ended up having to get a third pizza elsewhere. They offered us a discount on a future order but obviously we won’t be ordering again - why would we, when if something goes wrong you’ll be told that it’s absolutely impossible?? Shame.

I have been going to Armandos for over 30 years and it was always the best pizza in Glasgow. However, have been working away for over 8 years in London. I was back in Glasgow last weekend and decided to have pizza for dinner We ordered 3 x 14" pizzas at over £47.00 and were left disappointed with the quality. Not the same pizza we used to have. The base seems to have shrunk to a thin-crust not the same as before. Pity the pizza used to be the best. Now it is just like any other pizza shop. Will not be coming back. Very disappointing indeed.

Pizza is great quality lovely base and you get a great amount of toppings. Ordered home delivery and came quick and was still warm.

Armandos is quite simply the producer of the finest pizzas in the South Side and probably further. Great service, very reasonable costs and produced quickly and without fuss. Ample parking for pickups and delivery servuces available. Just a great team who are passionate about great food. Pepperoni is just awesome.

Staff need a lesson on customer services behind a phone when taking orders No please or thank you at all Asked how much my order was, and was told to phone back? Also pizza turned up burnt so next one asked for it be lightly cooked and was told “they all come out one way” Food is average man

Fantastic and authentic pizza....really tasty!

The pizza's we ordered were ediable. However, the sauce lacked zest, the cheese was unremarkable, and only the base showed some character. Overall, it was disappointingly average. I'm left confused by other five star reviews...

It's a personal preference (i know). However, Armandos is my kind of pizza. The base for me just makes all the difference.

Heard a lot about this place , but was disappointed , the edges were burnt , something lacking …I think there are better pizza places around , including 800 degrees…

Great Pizzas at a great price considering where its located (ask the locals about "giffnock tax") Wish they would let us order online in the future.

Tasty pan pizzas! Spicy and korma sauce options are both brilliant. I'm a regular and have never been disappointed with the quality. Some of the young staff members need customer service training, however, as they can come off as rude. You know it's good when that doesn't put you off the food, though.

Literally the best pizza I have ever had and I have had a lot of pizza so that’s saying something

I've been an Armando's customer for many, many years, yet it's still always a treat to place an order for delivery. The Armando's pizza base and homemade tomato sauce is unique to this Merrylee takeaway. If you've not tried an Armando's yet, or want something a bit different, give them a call. (May I recommend the margarita or Mexican pizza and sides of jalapeno poppers and fries).

Some of the best pizza you will ever taste anywhere, period. Bursting with flavour with tasty toppings underpinned with a deliciously rich pizza sauce and mix of cheddar and mozzarella cheese. The pizza sauce is the best around and really gives the pizza its authentic flavour. Tandoori chicken topping is incredibly tasty and goes brilliantly with the flavour of the pizza. Consistently high quality too. Really cannot recommend highly enough. Outstanding!

Sometimes you just need a chip shop style pizza instead of the Neapolitan style that seems to be the most popular these days and this is the best I’ve tried in glasgow, sauce is on point and I like you can get it extra saucy style

Been a customer since about '92 and thoroughly recommend it. Authentic, home-made base-sauce with a distinctive taste through and through. Very rarely has anything changed and the prices are very good. Despite the rise of Domino's, and the presence of Pizza Hut and Papa John's (relatively close-by), Armandos has always stood the test of time and not changed what's worked for 30 years. Keep up the good work! And here's to another 30!

Great wee Pizzeria . Our family has been using Armando’s since he opened. Quality is always top notch and consistent. Staff always pleasant and very helpful. Good value for money .

If you don't mind waiting, its ok, they charge 5p for a paper bag even if you spend £50! The staff can be rude but fish nice, but not the best. I would recommend Catch in Muirend.

The pizza base was of poor quality, the toppings were old and the pizza type was completely wrong. I'd never again buy from here.

Not greasy and I prefer the thin crust , there chicken wings are good as a starter and th portions are average ......never been disappointed and their ice cream is to die for.... did not take long to arrive

We're surrounded by pizza shops, here in Giffnock. Chip shops and even chinese/indian takeaways that sell pizza's but Armando's is simply the best!

Armando's is always my first choice for takeaway pizzas whether having it delivered or collecting it myself. Price for the quality of the food is simply unbeatable.

Have been going to Armandos for over 20 years now and have never been disappointed. It has a unique taste (a combination of a thicker base, a bit more cheese and Armandos special sauce perhaps?!) and is far superior to all the 'clone' thin crust 'authentic Italian' pizzas readily available throughout Glasgow that all taste the same. Keep up the good work Armandos!

I was trawling through TA, looking up a few of my favourites and was very surprised to find there was only one review of Armandos. I had a pizza from here on either the first or second night it opened - maybe 1991 or 1992? It was a simple margherita and as the other review says, it is the simple excellence that makes it so good. Anyway, I moved away from Glasgow for around 10 years but recently moved back. I tentatively ordered my first Armandos pizza in a decade, and guess what, it was identical to the first. I visited to pick up recently rather than get a home delivery and noticed the owner is still behind the oven so it's clearly still in the same hands. Essentially, Armandos is a very good, dedicated pizza joint. When it opened, that was fairly unique at the time as you either bought pizzas from Pizza Hut, a chip shop or a kebab shop. Now, there are plenty of standalone places claiming to be pizza experts. Armandos simply gets on with it and although the range of foods has expanded past just pizzas, it's still their main offering. I don't know if they still have their wee red scooters, but another key reason to use Armandos was the speed of home delivery. Anyway, for me, the longevity and consistency of this place is why I continue to support it.

I love pizza. It's without a doubt my favourite food and this place is the best. Best base, sauce and cheese. I normally like a variety of different toppings (not all at the same time) but in all the years I've gone here I always go back for the margarita. I've never had one come close to it. It's so morish it's should come with a warning. If you want a high quality no nonsense non rubber pizza then this the place.
