Arcadia Coffee House in Newport

Was in Newport today for some training and not knowing the area I was unsure where to go for some dinner. Passed this cafe in the arcade and was immediately drawn in. Menu outside had a range of items that caught my eye. Was quiet inside with only two other tables occupied. The decor is very unique and was nice to be somewhere different to the usual “coffee bean” decor. I was quickly served by a lovely lady who provided a menu and took my order when I was ready. I ordered a jacket potato- and it was really nice. Good size, plenty of filling and fresh. Coffee was also nice. Despite me being the only customer in there at the end and being on my own dining I felt so comfortable there. Really nice venue and would like to explore the menu further

Located at one end of the very pleasant Newport Arcade, this is quite a quirky little coffee shop with something of a goth vibe to it perhaps, but don’t let that put you off! Staff were very friendly, and there was a very tempting looking selection of cakes on the bar counter, covering all the usual bases and some vegan options as well. I went for the Coffee & Walnut sponge, and this was pretty good with a generous amount of filling. Perhaps not the best I’ve ever had, but perfectly acceptable. Across the table, the Victoria Sponge was probably the better of the two, it was really very good indeed. An accompanying latte was also particularly good, but it was the chilled out vibe, quirky ambience and really genuinely friendly staff that really stood out.

A work colleague and I have been to both the Bistro and Cafe now, and both are excellent. The bistro has an amazing selection of both veggie and meat options, and both healthy and unhealthy options. I loved the halloumi burger, and then on my second time, I had the avocado toast with poached egg. Everyone is really friendly and attentive. It is likely our secret little quiet spot away from work for lunch. Great escape!!

We had been exploring Newport for sometime when we passed by this coffee shop and decided to take a break. It has a pleasant quirky interior and very friendly and professional staff. We enjoyed two flat white coffees which cost £3.25 each.

I had an hour to kill before an appointment, and I had never noticed this place before; but what a find! Lovely Goth-y decor, nice coffee, welcoming atmosphere - I shall come again next time!

Fantastic coffee, quality and great taste, quirky decoration and friendly staff. Just wish it was a bigger venue so seating wasn't so restricted.

Our second visit to this amazing cafe on a 2 day break in Newport. Staff recognised us from our previous visit. They are very welcoming and friendly. Full selection of alternative milks. Very important to my as animal milk makes me very ill. Playlist still amazing and not your run of the mill choice. A real piece of gothic haven. I am not one to review often but really love this place.

Acardia is a great place to goth out. Excellent coffee super friendly staff with a great goth, emo, rock, punk soundtracks. My partner has intollerences and the staff were happy and helpful in suggesting suitable eateries nearby. They stock some vegan cakes and a full range of alternative milk. They have a hygein rating of 5. The decor is brilliant and includes games which I asked about and are there for patrons to play. In addition they run some games and quiz nights. Having said all that even if you don't have an inner goth the staff and coffee are well worthchecking out.
