Matt is a great chef and so dedicated. If your looking for a quick meal this restaurant isn't for you. The whole experience takes all evening,he serves up to ten guests so makes it seem more personal, You can watch Matt preparing as it is an open kitchen and then he comes to have a chat about each dish. All I can say about the food is WOW as my title says art on a plate. Thanks for a great evening.

My review of Annwyn is superfluous, just read all previous reviews. I agree with every word. We had a fantastic evenning, The attention to detail is amazing as is Matt’s passion and knowledge. My advice is would be, make a booking as soon as you can. I think that as word gets out reservations are going to be like gold dust or Oasis tickets, and you will have to wait months.

An outstanding evening, partaking of the Tasting Menu. Just three couples, (Only 10 covers in total) so excellent personal service. The food is delicious and locally sourced. It's hard to pick out once course as they were all so good, but saltmarsh mutton, slow cooked was sublime. Thanks to Matt and Naomi for the hardwork and dedication that shines through your food and restaurant.

Amazing food, wonderful people, superb setting. Our stomachs, eyes and interest were well fed with locally foraged/sourced food of the best quality. The care that goes into the preparation and presentation is obvious; you could see as well as taste it. It's not just 'dinner' - it's an experience. One I hope to revisit.

Our second visit - this time we specially travelled to Narbeth for my birthday treat having enjoyed Annwn so much the first time. I can’t find enough superlatives for the experience - absolute attention to detail, outstanding presentation and the most wonderful flavours coupled with great personal service and a lovely bottle of Pembroke wine. Brilliant. Well done

Absolutely brilliant experience, lovely service, ambience and food, but just calling it food sounds way too simple. The variety of foraged foods incorporated was amazing, especially with the explanations provided with each course. We were inspired by the detail and information and the most beautiful presentations, so carefully prepped and thought through. Seasonality and local sourcing including the wines, were a delight. This is not dinner, this is actually an experience, throughout the evening and we loved it. Thank you so much.

Our second trip to Annwn (first in November 2023). We were so blown away by our first visit, perceiving the experience on the whole to be sensational and the meal ‘the best we’d ever had’, that we returned for a second visit for our anniversary. We also booked onto the foraging experience in the day with Gary this time. We didn’t think our second Annwn experience could surpass our first, but it certainly did! Firstly the foraging with Gary, who is clearly so knowledgable and passionate about what he does, was a truly unforgettable experience. Who knew there were so many things in nature it was possible to eat! And then to see many of those things incorporated into the meal so skill fully created and served by Matt, Naomi, Will and a little helper (whose name we didn’t catch) was wonderful. The whole experience was completely immersive and mesmerising. I also want to thank the Annwn team for being flexible to my rather specific dietary requirements, which are clearly not ideal to have to accommodate as part of a set menu. Every detail was however thought about and executed so beautifully. Annwn remains the best dining experience we’ve had. We cannot wait for another excuse to return, and for Michelin to award Annwn the red star they so clearly deserve!

Just 10 people on 4 tables. Everyone served each course at the same time starting at 7.30. All orchestrated by just two - the chef and his partner. Every course was stunning. Each a work of art at presentation and the various tastes quite novel and all exquisite. When the dish had been demolished to be eaten they came around to serve extras of the most delicious sauces/purees. Beautiful setting. Worth 2 Michelin stars in my opinion…. Incredible…

Wonderful food and a tremendous experience and a much needed addition to the offerings within Pembrokeshire. Not a criticism but a suggestion to improve- your guests are there a long time, provide comfortable chairs, create an atmosphere and personality into the dining area. On arrival it would be great to receive an explanation of how the evening will run, even a top level run through the menu. Whilst observing the chef it would be great if someone talked through the food, the source, the history to fill the gaps and sometimes awkward silences instead of just as it was served and you are wanting to eat it. More drinks choice, especially diet or non alcoholic beverages and a coffee. After a wonderful meal a coffee would have been welcome and provided a more relaxed atmosphere to chat to the chef. You were all wonderful and I would come again and most definitely recommend you to anyone, but I hope you try to see and feel the experience a little more from the guest’s point of view and not just focus on the food itself.

Where do I begin. Foraging was fantastic and Dan has a wealth of knowledge and is so passionate about what he does and also links to the evening meal at Annwn and what you will see on your plate. Over to the restaurant Annwn, a beautiful light and airy restaurant. Welcomed by very friendly Naomi, who showed us to our table to watch Matt perform his magic with his young assistant, chef Otis. The food was sublime. I ate Oysters in the form of a puree (I would never eat oysters), which was nice ...the lamb was outstanding ... in fact the whole journey through the menu was an absolute honor. My husband and I were blown away by this whole experience. Was also great that Matt comes out to each table and explains each dish which added to the experience, coupled with the great choice of wines from Wales and UK. Matt, Naomi and Otis, a great team who work well together and all sharing and doing their part. Will definitely be back to this amazing Jewel in Narbeth. Thank you x

We booked the foraging day and dining experience for a special birthday. Dan, who took us on the foraging day, was extremely knowledgeable and he liaises with the restaurant so that he knows what is on the menu and ensures that he shows where the ingredients are found. You can taste a range of plants in the wild as you walk around. The restaurant (Annwn) is beautiful and spacious with an oak and slate decor, and you can watch Matt and Naomi as they prepare each course. Both are very friendly and welcoming. Matt explains exactly what is in each dish as it is served. We had 10 courses, every one was absolutely delicious and immaculately presented. I can't express enough how much we enjoyed the food and, being wild food (foraged), there were lots of new flavours to experience. There was Welsh wine available to buy, we really enjoyed the red wine that we chose and will be buying some to enjoy at home. Highly recommend and we will return in the future!

This was my third visit to Annwn but my first to their new location in Arberth. The food is EXCEPTIONAL, with the whole evening being not only satisfying but a gastronomic and visual experience. My favourite of the 10? 11? courses was the meadowsweet flavoured custard in an eggshell cup that offset the ‘Stack Rocks’ meringue, but the marvellous turbot main course pushed it close. I also loved the finale ( the only thing not completely sourced locally, namely cockle-shell moulded chocolates filled with lemony sea-buckthorn. I’d previosly had a superb lobster as main course, and next time I’ll go when sewin or hare is the main. Yes it’s expensive; but forva superb treat well worth it - they wellvdeserve their Michelin Star

Visited with my wife for her Birthday and because we were dying to see Matt & Naomi’s new place having loved dining with them at their previous location in Lawrenny. There are simply not enough superlatives to describe the food - every morsel of which has received the utmost care and attention to maximise the flavour of what is already the freshest, highest quality local produce. The significant thing that strikes you is that each item of this carefully curated seasonal menu is unique to Annwn to the extent that I believe I’m correct in saying that this is the only place in the world you will get to experience the extraordinary flavour of cured salt marsh lamb cured on site for at least 100days by Matt! The wine list is a showcase of Welsh (and British) wines - who could’ve thought that such excellent wine could be produced in aberaeron? The hospitality of both Matt & Naomi is second to none as you feel like guests in their home at an intimate dinner party rather than just customers and at £130pp for this tasting extravaganza it’s truly a bargain especially considering the warmth and generosity with which the food is presented - no photograph of a postage stamp of food here, the meal is as hearty as it’s intricate and tasty. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - give this place a Michelin star!

Bought a dining experience as a birthday gift and what an experience it was. Annwn is a small restaurant (8 diners on the evening we were there) Sampling a 10 course taster menu. You have a view into the kitchen area and it is fascinating to watch the care and attention lavished on each course. The food is based on local produce and resurrected old Welsh recipes. Much of the produce is foraged or home produced. Matt moves amongst you explaining the provenance of each dish and is happy to answer any questions. Wines ( which are not included ) all come from UK , many Welsh - who knew we had so many vineyards! Our evening lasted five hours in total so would advise staying locally. Definitely give it a go if you love delicious and unusual food with a twist, it was a great experience. For info , they also do packages where you can go foraging in the daytime and dine in the evening using your finds. Also recommend you book in advance, there is limited seating and they are very busy as their reputation spreads.

We experienced the foraging and dinner. The other reviews cover it all really. What an amazing experience from start to finish. Dan was superb helping understand more about the sheer volume and variety of food around us; you just have to look. We we then blown away with the dining experience with Matt and Naomi. The food was fabulous, but more than that, the whole experience - intimacy, explanation of the food and cultural provenance, construction of the menu, the theatre of the evening - was immersive.

Had heard lots about Matts food and was really excited to have the opportunity to try it out. His food is amazing. Very intimate setting, "chef's table" type of experience with lots of interaction with Matt making the whole evening truly unique. Forget about taking a loved one somewhere to treat them, spoil yourself, go try it. You will not be disappointed. If this chap was based in London there would be a 12 month waiting list to get in. How lucky are we.

Much more than a just great meal, our evening at Annwn in Narberth was a fabulous experience. The food was amazing, but it was great to see it prepared, have it described by the chef, and hear about its origins. It was like having a private chef. First time at the Plantagenet, and I must admit it was a great experience. All four of us have a lovely meal, with excellent service. I had the fillet steak which was really good. My only criticism was the rustic chips where a bit soggy and would recommend that you change to the fries, but other than that I’d definitely go back again.
