The restaurant makes an impression, but only for a moment. Three courses plus water. The starter was the tastiest, although like the rest of the dishes, it was served very quickly. The burger was the worst I've ever had. I got the impression that it was a pre-made frozen patty. The dessert was sweet and tasteless. It was the first time I encountered having to pay for service. I do not recommend.

Highly recommended Italian restaurant. One of the few that we found open in Aberdeen from 9 at night. Very delicious pizzas and very good prices.

Decent place ,and food good, service could be an improved as staff were a bit confused bring over wrong food to our table .but all in all a good place .

We have just eaten here. The food is amazing. The service was faultless and the atmosphere was buzzing. Our server Jocelyn was very attentive and very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The pan fried salmon was delicious as was the prawn linguine. I would also say the tiramisu is not to be missed

Great service, stunning atmosphere. We indulged in some Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert and it has to be one of the best cheesecakes we have ever tried. Their pizza was also delicious. 10/10 will be coming back again.

Its only problem, which is the problem of most Aberdeen restaurants; It is difficult to find the same quality and taste every time you come to the restaurant

Food was good, drinks were watered down though

We popped in on a fairly busy afternoon. We hadn't booked but we're seated at a nice table. The restaurant is very stylish and has a great buzz. We ordered some starters, some lovely mains, pasta, salads, and morish treats. Our server was great too. Overall a very pleasant experience. We will visit again, one day.

Very hit and miss in a lot of different ways. To begin with the menu was strange and seemingly full of errors. There were both "V" and "VG" keys to denote Vegetarian and Vegan safe meals seperately, but they did not seem to be applied correctly at all as they were only present on Vegan safe meals switching between the two at random, with anything containing any dairy whatsoever (be it cream or cheese) being deemed not Vegetarian safe. When I asked a waiter to help me with my confusion regarding the vegetarian safe dishes, they told me I was wrong and that "cheese isn't vegetarian, some vegetarians just don't mind it"??? I could understand room for debate when it comes to eggs, but dairy is pretty much the #1 dividing line between Vegetarian and Vegan... Very strange, just trying to cover for printing errors on the menu I think. Across a family of four we had three courses, a different starter, main and dessert each every time, and it seemed as if the quality of the food and portion size was completely random from dish to dish. When it came to starters, my Minestrone was almost big enough to be a main but tasted of absolutely nothing at all, just boiled-tasteless vegetables floating in vaguely tomato coloured water. My step-father's black pudding croquettes however were apparently delicious but the portion size was tiny, while my brother's bruschetta and mother's mozzarella fritta were both decently sized and apparently very tasty. Next came the mains and once again between the dishes it was hard to believe they were all coming from the same restaurant. The Tonnarello al Pomodoro was almost twice the serving size of Spaghetti Carbonara, the lasagna was apparently extremely bland, and the Shrimp Linguine was I'm told "just fine" in both taste and serving size. Our "garlic bread to share" was delivered as a single small garlic-buttered bread-roll making for a hearty single slice each. Even the deserts weren't spared from the inconsistent quality of the food at Amarone. The profiteroles were delicious, but the chocolate mousse was missing entire ingredients with no sign of the crispy almond base promised on the menu. The staff were very friendly, the decor was nice enough, the seating areas were comfortable and the restaurant is spacious but the food quality and portion sizes vary so wildly from dish to dish that Amarone is hard to recommend. The one area where quality wasn't inconsistent were the drinks, particularly the cocktails. Whether the frozen daiquiris we got to cool off from the heat outside of the espresso martinis on the desert menu, every cocktail we ordered was delicious. Frankly they should have just skipped the restaurant and opened a bar instead.

Delicious starters, and main course. Tasty mocktails. Deserts were not as good as the rest of the food therefore I won’t recommend them.

We visited the St Andrews Square restaurant on a very busy Saturday evening. My wife is coeliac and therefore gluten intolerant. We received excellent advice from Hilarky on menu choices and then throughout the evening where she was most attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend this restaurant, especially if Hilarky is on duty,

Been in for dinner and loved food. Had prawn and calamari for starters. My main was delicious, cod with mash, cheesy sauce and red cabbage 😋 Yummy panna cotta for desert and great cocktails too🍸 Recommend 💯

We took my sister here for her birthday breakfast when we visited Aberdeen this weekend. Ordered eggs Benedict.. the eggs were solid, my partner and his mum ordered rolls with link sausages.. they were burnt and absolutely disgustingly hard.. would not go back so dissatisfied

Food was good, slightly higher priced and a commercial Italian restaurant. Noisy and large environment, nice decor and service was good.

Very nice restaurant with great food. The salad with the marinated tofu was incredibly tasty, and a particularly good olive oil was used here. The pizza was almost as good as in Italy.

It was my birthday today and they sang me happy birthday with a candle in my dessert. The food and service were amazing 👏. Def recommend 👌 🌟

Of all the restaurants I’ve reviewed - this is the trickiest. The main courses were pure excellence Lasagna: 5/5 stars (though portion quite small) Pizza margarita: 5/5 stars Sunday roast: 5/5 stars The manager has clearly taken a LOT of pride in choosing an OUTSTANDING Amarone red wine to be served by the glass. Bravo! Meanwhile. After such excellence. The deserts were extremely disappointing: Tiramisu: 2/5 stars Zero taste in the actual tiramisu, but all in the chocolate on top which had a bad taste Panna Cotta: 1/5 stars Bad taste. Texture too compact. As if it was cream that had passed expiration date. The amarena on top didn’t work well with the dessert.

I went to this restaurant as a walk in. I was greeted very well and was shown to a tablet straight away. The level of this restaurant is certainly higher than other restaurants around. The service, food and ambience was lovely. I think food is definitely worth the few pounds more you will pay here. I really liked the building. Hard to define it, but I'd say it reminded me of a a New York Art Deco hotel lobby. Whatever it is, I really liked.

Back at my second home again! The brilliant service we receive from Parveen and the servers - Stefano this time, can not be faulted and what makes us come back again and again. Nice to have a lovely welcome and for the manager to remember your name. It was busy with a lovely atmosphere. Food was quick to arrive and freshly cooked despite being busy. The non alcoholic cocktails were very good - thank you Parveen for the thought and to the person making them! We will be back yet again!

Service was absolutely fantastic, I had my young son with me and all the staff we spoke to were welcoming and friendly. The food was tasty, my son had a margarita pizza from the kids menu and it was almost the same size as the one I ordered. I would have rated higher for atmosphere but we went on a rainy Wednesday afternoon so it was quieter than normal.

We took advantage of an Itison offer and had a 3 course lunch with a cocktail. The food was excellent and the portions were generous, especially since we were on a deal and other establishments we have had deals with tend to cut portions significantly. Options were good and food was excellent, with the only real complaint was the restraunt was a bit cold and the cocktails in the offer weren't to my taste.

Came here for lunch with an itison voucher. Choice of courses was excellent. We had Black pudding croquettes and minestrone soup, both were excellent particularly the black pudding. Followed by prawn dish (with a small supplement) and pepperoni pizza. The prawn dish was outstanding, with the rice cake being a real triumph. Pizza was huge but we were given the leftover home in a box. We both had ice cream and cherries - three scoops of lovey vanilla icrecream plus lots of Amereba cherries - delicious. The staff, particularly our waiter Reno, were excellent. This is excellent value for money and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

I ordered lasagna, it was over cooked pasta sheets with cheese and meatballs. Not great so on this basis the rest of the food won’t be so great.

Great food and lovely surroundings. Been many times previously, however our waitress on this occasion was a bit abrupt and was constantly trying to upsell items e.g. asking if we'd like side dishes with our mains, would we like another bottle of wine when we had not yet finished the first one, did we want cocktails etc etc. Also unhappy with the 10% service charge which, on a bill of over £250, was quite a chunk and more than we would have normally tipped. I realise you can ask for this to be removed, but does anyone actually do that? Shame as we really like the food. She also removed a plate from one of our party before the rest of us had finished eating. A big no no.

The restaurant looks very nice , the decor the atmosphere matched 100% Service friendly . Unfortunately the food for me carbonara looked reheated . Spaghetti stale and too much salt which killed the whole dish . 🤷‍♀️Prosseco Tasted the cheapest :)

Came here with some friends for casual dinner. I ordered the black pudding croquette as a starter, which was really good and the marinated duck as a main, which was quite a good portion and was also tasty. The presentation of all the dishes was really nice, especially the tiramisu that was served in a pot. Got a limoncello on the house at the end!

Visited while in Aberdeen on business , what can I say , simply stunning surroundings, wonderful food , wine and staff. The mussels were outstanding, my colleagues had the sea bream which looked beautiful… I won’t hesitate on coming back , superb food… welcoming staff

Came back to take advantage of the VIP offer re pizza. Botond took care of us and done very well, was there to answer any questions and deliver the pizzas, drinks and desserts. Pizzas were freshly cooked and tasty as usual. We enjoy coming here and will continue to do so.

It was a very disappointing evening at Amarone. We arrived and were seating quickly despite not having booked. We ordered, including a bottle of wine. They use massive glasses, and the speed the waiter poured the wine by upending the bottle into the glass was something I had never seen before in any other establishment. The staff hover around constantly. One waitress, without being asked or saying a word, attempted to refill our wine. She simply walked over and picked up the bottle. It plainly feels like they're attempting to rush you out the door. Honestly, if they had carried pitchforks to prod us to hurry, it wouldn't have surprised me. I would also like to thank  the complete stranger fellow diners for their company. The tables are ridiculously close together. Unfortunately, the food was not great, with the lasagne served being inedible. The rest of our food was bland and generally a letdown. To be fair, the main waiter did pick up on our disappointment and did not charge us for lasagne. He also served us a complimentary round of Lemoncello's. Was this just a bad night or an indication of their normal service? Unfortunately, I believe the latter. Would we return? No.

Service not bad, but not great either. Atmosohere is nice, interior design is great. Food is not great. I had duck liver pate, which was chicken liver.. maybe had duck liver in it too, but it was super grey and tasted like chicken liver. I like it, but don’t put on the menu duck liver pate. Beef carpaccio, grilled orada, and spagetti with scallops were at best OK. Maybe average but maybe even a bit below average. Sourdough bread is not quite sourdough - at least not the sourdough that you can buy in an artisan bakery or what you bake at home.. Kids cheesy pasta tasted like pasta with sour cream only. Pino grigio white wine was ok. Had better before Not great experience all in all. So, all in all not a great experience.

Starters and mains are absolutely delicious. Pizza is perfect and portions are a good size. Desserts are great and wonderfully presented. The service was magnificent, my server was attentive and had great energy.

Came here for lunch with hubby as we are VIP and would get 40% off our meal. Its January so why not?! We received a warm welcome form Parveen as usual and were seated quickly. We soon realised that he was on his own and serving everyone food, drinks, taking orders etc. I felt so bad for him, I wanted to clear the tables to help! Food was as delicious and freshly made as usual and served quickly given the circumstances. I hope Parveen got help in for later and got a well deserved rest too! There was no need for an apology for the delay as we totally understood the reason. We will be back. Again.

Excellent meal for a graduation party of 4 on 28/06/23. All members of our party enjoyed starters, mains and desserts on the graduation menu as well as drinks. The seafood pasta, spicy chorizo pasta and tiramisu were highlights. One member of our party isn't too keen on Italian food too much garlic for their taste, however, or waiter was wonderful and communicated with the chef to ensure the sauce on the chicken dish of the graduation menu was served separately. Fantastic restaurant especially for a special occasion!

Beautiful place to go for a tasty pizza in Aberdeen

The venue was nice inside but as someone going in there on my own i didnt feel welcome, you can tell your a nuisance and they want you in and out asap as theyre not going to make much money off you... i was seated, fed and billed within 20 minutes, as soon as i put my fork down, with food still on my plate, it was whisked away and i was handed the bill. I felt very uncomfortable there. The food i had was bland and nothing special at all and a small portion too. I wont be back.

We came here Saturday night. They had a menu with 3 courses for £20 per person. The food was delicious - I would recommend the chicken pollo and the focaccia. The service was good and we will definitely come back again soon.

Staff was kind there I can’t say no but they were very specific. Maybe bc there were busier with bigger tables and I was just young person by myself I did feel a lil on the side but there were really nice. Place was looking very nice and clean. But food was a lil bit tasteless. As the Italian restaurant I was expecting better flavours and spice usage but everything was really bland. Wasn’t like really bad but just bland so it killer all the vibe

January 2024: A few days ago I visited this restaurant again after over 2 years and I regret to say that this time I was disappointed. We also came to celebrate special day, this time my birthday. We were offered rosé Proseco, which we agreed to thinking it will be one glass, on the house as previously. However, we were not informed that it would be a whole bottle and what its cost would be. This only turned out to be the case when we asked for the bill after the entire dinner (£29,95 for the bottle). In addition, a tip was added, which was not included during the previous visit. The food was good, but the menu was different and the dish, which I had previously eaten and really enjoyed was not available on it. Just like before we felt appreciated, this time we felt ripped off. There are so many restaurants in the city that you can freely choose and you will certainly find more than one that will be able to please the customer and make him leave appreciated. I probably won't come back here any time soon. September 2021: My visit to this restaurant was related to my sister's birthday. Not only the ordered dish, Bruschetta Rustica & Pollo Funghi e Pancetta were absolutely delicious, we were also treated to Prosecco at the company's expense. It was a very nice gesture and my sister's birthday made it even more enjoyable. The staff looked after us well, all the time asking if everything was alright. I can definitely recommend this place if you have any occasion to celebrate or spend time in a place with an exquisite and friendly atmosphere. You will certainly feel appreciated. Thank you "Amarone", on behalf of myself and my sister, for making this day special.

Mooie plek om te zitten, met vriendelijk personeel. Vooraf reserveren zou ik wel aanraden bij dit restaurant i.v.m. de drukte. De mocktail was erg lekker. De pasta met garnalen vonden wat tegen vallen. Was niet vies, maar ook niet fantastisch. De pizza daar in tegen was heerlijk. Toetjes waren ook lekker en mooi gepresenteerd.

We thought we would try the Hogmanay Dinner Dance at this restaurant as the food menu seemed good,our table was booked for 8pm we got seated by 19.50 and ordered 2 drinks, we then had a before starter which was a Cauliflower Bon Bon which didn’t have any flavour and was very bland, we then ordered our Starter and our main meal,the starter came at 20.48pm we had a Smoked Salmon Cauliflower Purée which was very Bland and cold and it came with Fish Eggs which wasn’t listed on the menu,I had the Scallops which was Okay but was cold,we then waited until 22.45 to get our main meal which was Cod with Prawns with Courgette the Courgettes were inedible,I ordered the fillet Steak with Chips and a Peppercorn Sauce which was also flavourless,we ordered our desserts which were Profiteroles with a Hazelnut Sauce which were just okay the other dessert was a lemon tart with a white chocolate dome the tart was flavourless and hard as rock we were that unhappy that we payed our bill and left the restaurant before the bells rang in,there was other tables that sat down after our table and the table next to us but they got there meals before we did. This meal was £150 and they wanted us to pay £16 service charge which we refused to pay,if you are going to charge this amount of money to your customers you will need to do a lot better next time we felt very let down by this meal,we both said to ourselves that we wished we had got a Kebab takeaway,we will not return to your restaurant.

Have gone here quite a few times in the past few years. Their vegetarian options seem to have gone down in recent times. Would be good to see more veggie friendly dishes in pasta category too. Good ambience and food quality.

Myself my husband and a few friends visited the restaurant last night for the 1st time and we was not disappointed,as soon as we entered we where taken to our table straight away then given our drunks menu no waiting about like some places I have Been too.we all only had a main meal but it was absolutely beautiful full of flavour and great portions.price of meal also was fantastic great value for money and we'll definitely be paying another visit this month.thank you.

Visited for breakfast with my husband. Waiter was friendly and the decor is lovely. Ordered two full Scottish breakfasts. Quality of food was good. However, the wait for the breakfast was far too long. Nothing to do with being busy… we were the only ones there!

On arrival we did not have a booking but it was early on a Monday evening and it didn’t look busy. The restaurant looked so elegant and stylish. Our drinks order was taken - no drinks arrived. Our meal order was taken, the meal arrived before our drinks did. Now that’s a disappointment. One had Pizza he said it was OK. I had mussels they were absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. Staff around us were attentive when we needed anything-just a bit slow on the drink service. I don’t know what it would be like if it was a busy night. We enjoyed the experience just a bit of tweaking required on the drink service. We ordered 2 glasses would have ordered a bottle but service too slow.

Forgot to write a review after trip in November so this is two in one! The visit in November - excellent welcome form the manager who knew my name (must be going too much!) and the male server told my husband his favourite food was back on the menu. We were both impressed with them both. Makes you feel like a valued customer. Yesterdays visit - we were given some mulled wine - sadly hubby couldnt have his glass as he was driving. Again the manager remembered my name and directed us swiftly to our table. Amarone was quite busy yesterday due to Christmas - nice atmosphere. Food both times was freshly cooked and very tasty. Friendly and helpful servers both times - Matvey and Botand. We will be back again in the new year - couldnt not visit my second home again!

Very busy but service quick, however the food was extremely disappointing. Chicken salad was less salad more KFC on a lettuce leaf drowning in mayonnaise. Chicken pesto pasta had very little chicken and was edible but nothing to write home about. Side of spinach was so disgusting we had it taken away. Felt ill as we left. Service at end of meal was hurried, bordering on rude. Would not go back.

Booked a table for dinner on a Friday evening whilst visiting family. The restaurant was busy but the staff were still very attentive. Food and drinks were good. Would not hesitate to recommend and would definitely visit again when in Aberdeen.

We arrived for a rare lunch out few weeks before Christmas and there were lots of tables free. We chose food from the lunch menu which came in good time and was scrumptious. The waiter was efficient, helpful and pleasant without being obtrusive. Definitely recommended.

Never heard of this place before Unfortunately, absolutely fabulous food. We hadn’t booked as just flown in. Probably went at right time as got a table straight away. Brilliant services and the best food we’ve eaten on our wee holiday. Definitely will be back.
