My wife and I took our 4 kids here (ages 13, 11, 9 & 7) and we loved it! We were made feel welcome from the moment we entered the door. The food arrived exactly as ordered and pretty fast too. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Awful food and rude staff. I’ve never been treated so badly in my life. Mussels were gone off and made me sick. Should be reported to health and saftey control.

We had the lasagna with garlic bread & bottled beers. A nice combination! Looked after by a smiling waitress & we were served within 25 minutes. Can recommend. Very clean tables & cutlery. Steps lead to restaurant so be aware if mobility issues are a problem. Thank you.

Food was so good. Pizza was lovely but after reading other reviews we saved enough room for desert, a very good call. The home made tiramisu was amazing and a very good sized portion. Waitress was lovely, friendly and easy to talk to. We will be going back for more!

Worst restaurant I have EVER been to. We ordered mussels, which on arrival smelt absolutely rancid. I asked to change my starter and didn’t eat a single bite. My sister ordered olives which clearly came straight from a jar- and were awful. My friend ordered melon and Parma ham, and was served two pitiful slices of Parma ham. The chef then refused to serve us our mains. The waitress was nice and apologised, but in the service industry this is unacceptable. Avoid at ALL costs.

Went here for anniversary meal with my wife. The special was spaghetti and meatballs. Which I had accompanied by cheesy garlic bread. Washed down with a bottle of chianti. The toffee cheesecake for dessert was quite simply out of this world. My wife had salmon tagliatelle followed by tiramasu. All under 70 quid. You won't beat it in Great Yarmouth, which is why I awarded 5 stars .

almost didnt go in as dosn't look much from the road. Lovely decor querky and friendly staff, food was excellent only a marguerita but very tasty. Wife had salmon which again was perfect.

Did not expect to go downstairs for this restaurant entrance but it was nice. Felt very Italian in the vibe - set the scene. Food was good. Did not expect the calamari to come in a tomato sauce/unbattered, but it was actually really good. The pizza and garlic bread was nice. Nothing special but just edible and tasty. Did the job. Would go back. The place seemed popular too as there was so many people coming in! Good stuff. Reasonably priced

Fantastic service from Jodie ( waitress). First visit but not our last . Chicken in white wine cream and mushrooms was delicious. Atmosphere was relaxed nice background music . Decent price too. You need to walk downstairs to entrance . Decorated in a nice traditional way.

This was hands down the best Italian I have ever tasted. The staff are brilliant. We had a 2 year old and she was given a colouring book to keep her amused. The waitress made time to speak to us and the little one. If I didn't live so far away this would be my favourite place to eat. When I come back to Great Yarmouth I will be back. Prices are reasonable as well which makes it even better.

This little hidden gem was one of the best Italians we’ve had! The place was set in a really quaint authentic Italian restaurant. We had the calamari in tomato sauce to start and the flavours were insane! I had pizza to start and it was so authentic and amazing! It was made from scratch too which was great to hear! My partner has the creamy salmon linguine which was also amazing!! Service was great too! Thankyou so much x

Thoroughly check your bill Food wasn't too bad. Pizzas were tasty in my opinion, not the best but definitely not the worst. We ordered 2 kids pizzas aand 2 kids drinks, an adult pizza and pasta with a glass of house red and a beer....

Such a lovely authentic Italian restaurant with such a lovely atmosphere. Lovely waitresses who were all friendly, polite and professional. Food was absolutely beautiful, couldn't fault it at all, so tasty and full of flavour!

The food was really nice, we had the soup to start and spaghetti as a main, both of us had non alcoholic drinks too, wouldn’t say it was expensive. There was a slightly odd environment, they turned the music off half way through the meal...

Having read the rave reviews, we were looking forward to a family Italian meal. Regrettably, despite a friendly staff, warm setting and good atmosphere, the food was disappointing. We ordered a pizza, three pasta dishes and a carni dish but they fell short of quality....

Tried to visit on Monday 4h August after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed despite signs on the window saying it is open 7 days a week.

We visited this restaurant after a recommendation from our guest house and few other people actually And now we became regular customers the food here is something else from cannaloni tortellini tricolori to bolonaise pizza and seafood all dishes are fresh and comes out piping...

Come cross this place on sunday night while on holiday And right from the start we made feel very welcome quickly seated the food was superb and very hot you tell its cooked there and then prices are reasonable and its was quiet cosy actually i recommend this place to anyone on holiday

A fresh cooked meal with herbs veg and decent cut of meat is all i needed from albatross after long hard day at work And i wasn't disappointed had ministroni soup packed with flavours cooked in olive oil with few slices of crunchy tiger bread and i had a double size portion of bolonaise as i was starving it was absolutely devine next time going to try talgatelli pasta with smoked salmon in cream sauce yummExcellent all arround very relaxing atmosphere Highly recommend

We love Italian food so booked this on the recommendation of the hotel where we were staying. Arrived to see a sign for cash only. Staff friendly and order taken promptly. Asked for a gin which arrived in a plain glass (the same as the glass of water) with no ice and when I asked for ice-she said oh ok and returned with a couple of cubes added. Decor quite bland and not very Italian.Pasta dishes arrived fairly hot with a good size portion but very very bland. No seasoning had been added. I know seasoning is personal but for me to add salt must be bad as I never use it. Prices reasonable. Would I recommend? Unfortunately not.

I’m not one for negative reviews but this “Italian” left much to be desired. A sign on the door saying cash only should have set alarm bells ringing, but in we went anyway. Inside, a nice enough cellar restaurant, and pleasant staff. No drought beer, just bottled. Ok, not a problem. The wife then chose a Lasagne, I fancied a pizza. Having ordered, the waitress returned to announce, “we’ve run out of pizzas”. Really? Don’t you make them fresh?, oh well, I’ll have lasagne as well. 2 minutes later it arrived. Extremely small portions, but quite tasty, as frozen ready meals often are.F you want authentic Italian food, you won’t find it gherkin I’m afraid.

Went to this restaurant for dinner and would never go back or recommend to anyone! The tiny portion of food looked and tasted like a microwave meal not appealing at all and when you’re paying £17 for a main meal you expect more than 5 mouth fulls. Ridiculously over priced! The staff didn’t have a clue about anything and when I complained the waitress simply walked off. Do not go there ever you’re better off getting a Maccy D’s

Since we booked over the phone with young lady she was very helpful nothing is too much for her even when we changed our time slot she was more then happy to do so for us Food was propre tasty all the dishes that we had were all cooked to perfection shame they run out of tiramisu that night but we are coming back in two weeks time for caister music festival Highly recommend this hidden gem

Came here for dinner. Excellent tasty food and staff were great. Very busy so I'd advise to book a table as they were having to turn people away. Very covid friendly as tables spaced apart and staff all wore masks. Definitely recommend to everyone 👌

We dined here on thursday nite just before the fire work started we didn't book and the girls managed to fit us in after a little wait as they were very busy We had a bottle soave and couple of berra moretti to drink and we ordered the chicken doria in brandi cream and masrhroom sauce it was absolutely devine only one minor is it does get hot in there they can do with a air con or something Will deffo recommend

We had an impromptu visit here and found the staff to be accommodating, we had 3 lovely meals, kids spaghetti, seafood pasta and callaloni, we couldn’t fault the service either and was surprised to see the reviews today. Yes, the restaurant needs a fresh lick of paint and due to being in the basement it was dark. However we are in a large tourist town and are unlikely to have the ritz on every corner.

Went for dinner after a busy day in Great Yarmouth, but it was a very disappointing end to the day. The restaurant is dark and grubby looking which was off putting. The staff were friendly enough but the food was awful - garlic bread just tasted of margarine, the pasta was over cooked and watery - would not recommend.

Sadly, we were VERY disappointed after having read some of the reviews.The service was ok, but the food was terrible.The manager said that they had a new chef!!Hmmm?? A chef who obviously doesn't check the food before seasoning!! VERY SALTY, to the point that it was inedible!!Upon complaint to the manager, we offered free glass of wine each!!WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE RETURNING!!!!

Family of 7 visited. 2 pizzas returned because they were burned. All 7 of us ate at different times. 1 of the party didn't eat at all. Front of house staff had no idea what was going on in the kitchen. Simply awful. Chaos!

Where on earth do I start… we booked a table the previous day for a group of 8 of us, only to be told upon arrival that they couldn’t find our booking, they even said that we hadn’t booked (same thing happened to the group in front of us). They kicked us out and told us to wait an hour in the pouring rain for a table to become available. They then called us back 10 minutes later saying that a table had become available, after realising that our reservation had been noted on the back of a napkin. We were seated at our table and our drinks order was taken. The waitress then returned for food orders only to then inform us that there were no pizzas, despite all 8 of us going there for pizza - imagine not telling us before our drinks order that the pizza restaurant has no pizza. To rub salt in the wounds, one of our guests was allergic to egg, and they proceeded to claim that none of their pasta (pizza alternatives) contained egg - what sort of authentic Italian restaurant prepares pasta with no egg? Does this establishment microwave pasta ready meals from Lidl’s? We proceeded to walk out, having been made to pay for our drinks. Overall we were highly disappointed with both the menu options and service received, utterly appalling and would not recommend to anyone visiting Great Yarmouth, avoid at all costs!

Spent some time wandering around Yarmouth to find something to our taste. Used trip advisor snd decided on this place as reviews seemed good. Wandered down stairs and was told by the waitress only table they had needed to be turned in an hour. Absolutely no problem for us after a day of travelling with two kids (aged 8 & 6). 30 mins after sitting down (therefore 30 mins before our table was reserved for someone else) we still hadn’t had our drink order taken, let alone food. The couple on the table next to us had their pasta dishes delivered and were both saying how unpleasant and clearly out of a packet they were and dried pasta not made fresh.We decided to give up, walked past the three waitresses who showed little to no interest in the fact we had walked out. Amazed this place has the food reviews it does as was truly rubbish!!!

my husband and i ate here few times never had a bad meal tortellini to die for in creamy sauce cheese and mushrooms my husband loves the fillet of salmon with taragan white wine and cream we will try the steaks on our next visits

We were looking for any italian restaurant on our holiday trip because we love it. So we found that one. And what can I say ? We ordered carbonara and lasagne. Normal time to prepare is around 30-40 min. We got our food in 10 minutes. Carbonara was as any garlic double cream sauce and lasagne like from microwave. Be honest it looks for us as lunch boxes from any supermarket. We ate just few bites. And then whole night we're sick. Its really bad. Also i didnt get spoon to my pasta.

we became a regular customers here despite we hate waiting but the food is worth waiting for ,on our third visit on the 21st of july there was a wedding party event in the restaurant so we got up and had cheeky little dance with bridesmaid after few drinks we always leave a good tip as the staff at the front and back work really hard looking forward to our Saturday meal with our work colleagues

Arrived at our accommodation early evening and tried to find somewhere for an evening meal. Most places were booked but we managed to get a table here. However we were disappointed with the quality of the food. Although it was Italian, it was not authentic. We both had mushrooms to start which were nice but really would have benefited from a slice of ciabatta to mop up the juice. My partner had the lamb which he enjoyed but the frozen veg was average. My tagliatelle with salmon consisted of creamy bland pasta with chunks of salmon popped on top, it was clear they had only met in the dish, the salmon did not have a drop of sauce covering it! If I had eaten it with my eyes closed I would have been convinced it was kipper, the smokey salty taste was nothing like salmon I have had before. Very disjointed service, after telling one waitress that we did not want dessert, another came over and gave us dessert menus. We told her we did not want dessert and asked for the bill. We then waited for more than 10 minutes while the waitress started to sort out the bill then went into the kitchen to help with food prep. Eventually another waitress came over, but instead of the bill, she brought dessert menus and asked it we wanted desserts.Another customer mentioned to the host that she was disappointed with the food as she herself was Italian. The response was that it was cooked by an English chef.We would not return.

Lovely interior is all I can say.Staff scurry around confused mixing up orders, mains not brought in together, slow inefficient service. It would all be acceptable if the food was good! But unfortunately it was strangely put together, poor quality and masquerading as Italian food. I'm very familiar with Italian cuisine and my dinner companions were Italian! We left without ordering desert disappointed and still hungry. We certainly don't mind paying high prices but not for poor quality food.

We went there for a evening meal. The restaurant decor is dated, with dusty empty wine bottles hanging on the wall and flickering christmas lights causing a headache. The music was horrible and loud. Atmosphere was shocking but I was hoping the meal will make up for the surroundings. We have ordered drinks, a beer and a glass of house rose. The waitress was not sure if they have the beer which my husband ordered and shouted out from our table to the bar area to find out, then disappeared for a moment and came back with our drinks. The wine glass was full to the brim and the wine tasted like a leftover wine opened a week ago. For starters we ordered calamari in tomato sauce and minestrone soup. The starters was served on a cold plates and my husband was not given a spoon to eat his soup. My husband and I enjoyed the starter even though it was microwaved and not freshly made to order. When the waitress came to clear the plates after starters she told me to keep my used cutlery for main meal. I was so shocked I thought that I might have misunderstand what she said so I asked her to repeat. The waitress said again to keep the used cutlery for a main meal to use it again. I replied that I would like clean cutlery. Shocking! For main meal I had the worst carbonara ever, it was watery and tasted blunt. My husband ordered veal in mushroom sauce which was rubbery and tasteless main meal again served on cold plates and from microwave. The main meal put us off from ordering a dessert. I was praying not to get diarrhoea after eating there. It was the worst Italian restaurant I have ever been to. I have worked in Italian restaurant and I know how the food should be served and taste. I strongly advise the chef to try the dishes before serving it to customers. The food was a disgrace and not worth half of what we paid for it. The staff was friendly and that was only one good thing about this place. I will never come back there even if I was offered to be paid to eat their food. Avoid this place it's a waste of time and money.

We decided to try this restaurant after a nice day at the beach because of the reviews. Overall i have to say i would never come back to this place.The food was decent so credit where its due.We tried the cheesy garlic bread, veg pastas and veg pizza. The service on the other hand was just bizarre - no other way to explain it. First of all when a waitress came to take our order I started with a drink as you usually do. Her response was ‘food only’ i asked what about drinks and only then does she say someone else will take that order (bit weird in my opinion). Anyway so we order some coke no ice.. the glass is filled with ice so naturally we ask for a replacement without ice. The waitress comes back and says ‘the coke is warm we can’t give it to you without ice’. A little bemused at that point but we just left it. During the meal we thought we could do with an extra pizza so we ordered one. The waitress came back 10 minutes later and said ‘the chef is too busy sorry’. This is at 8pm with several empty tables - we were essentially told we can’t order more food because the chef is ‘busy’ .Need i say more - we got the bill and left.

A truly great meal was had here. We went at 745pm and a few things were off the menu as they’d run out of them, like my wife’s 1st choice of Lasagne, but she chose the seafood /tomato pasta dish and I had the Salmon tagletelli . We had garlic bread too. All was fantastic, so was my coffee ice cream dessert . The 2 waitresses work tirelessly and deserved the tip we left them. If ever we return to Yarmouth we will return

Absolutely delicious!! Lovely place That you could easily walk past. The staff were so nice and the food was amazing! 7 of us all had something different and everyone said how gorgeous it was. Fresh, hot, tasty! Will definitely return here!

Such a shame, we’ve been going for years but this time it was a real disappointment. The menu has never changed and no atmosphere. The lasagna was salty and definitely not fresh and definitely not worth £13 The only reason for 3 stars was for the staff and purely for nostalgia

I visited with my daughter on 20th June. The restaurant had a good atmosphere. We had garlic mushrooms and the mussels for starters. They were flavoursome and cooked well.I had scampi in a brandy cream and parmesan sauce and my daughter stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon. We both chose fries for a side dish.We received exactly what we ordered.It would have been a better experience if perhaps there was a complimentary bread basket to go with the starter. Or perhaps a decorative salad to go with the mains. My main meal was a plate of tasty-ish yellow sauce with a few bits of scampli and chips in a separate container. The presentation could have been a bit better- it just didn't look as special as it sounded on the menu.Lesson learnt- If I wanted salad I should have ordered a side dish, but I doubt I will return for their to be a next time.

Having had to book our table beforehand I was expecting much better. The food was mediocre at best, my 14 year old daughter commented that it wasn’t as good as what we do at home. The front of staff were very disorganised, it took 37 minutes for our first and only round of drinks to arrive, I had requested a second drink however it never materialised. After asking for our bill we had to wait for what seemed an age whilst the staff were monkeying around with a calculator.We definitely would not visit again.

Had an amazing meal here last night, best ragu I've ever tasted. My husband and friends had the veal , all were very happy. Dessert was gorgeous. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Perfect

On the plus side we felt the COVID precautions were generally fine, the tables were well spread out.On the negative side was the food, my wife had a chicken dish and the chicken was well cooked and juicy although there could have been more sauce. I had penne arrabiata, tasteless hard chicken in a sauce that was very watery, cant say for a fact but it had the feeling of something that had been microwaved. I was offered another meal so opted for a pizza, should have gone for one in the first place but at 9 inches they are very small, and it took ages to be produced, at least 20 minutes in a kitchen that was not inundated by orders.We were given some free drinks, but ion the whole it was not a good night...

We visited on Friday the 25th of September and our experience was not the greatest. We were excited to go as we had met the previous owner a lovely gentleman who had had the business for years. We arrived slightly late due to traveling and the host a blonde haired lady was far from accommodating, she came across rude to begin with and the trend seem to continue. The food as always was amazing and I believe the original gentleman was still the chef and it showed the food was stunning. We had a amazing meal. When the meal came to the end and we were going to pay once again our host showed no signs of improvement and when my wife was working out splitting the bill with a friend and using the card machine she said ‘well done’ as if we were not able to use such technology!!! Overall I would recommend due to the quality of the food and I would hope the service improves.

Quaint little restaurant with delicious food- partner had spaghetti Bolognese and said it was lovely, I had the cheese filled tortellini in mushroom sauce which was the best meal I had away! I took a pudding away with me as was too full but knew I would regret not having one! The waitress (young pretty blonde lady) was brilliant considering they were short staffed so thank you to her!!

Food is good,but did not feel comfortable. Service could be better. We had to ask for salt and pepper, etc. Were not offered parmesan, had to ask and when it was brought to us I noticed that the pot of parmesan that was brought to us was brought straight from another table and had also been around every other table. Cleaning tables in between customers was just a quick wipe across the top. Chairs were broken. Shame, food good would certainly not return.

We intended to go to another restaurant on the seafront but it was full, so we wandered back up Regent Road and spotted the Albatross and decided to give it a go. So glad we did. What a great meal we had - fast service, friendly staff and home cooked Italian food - so tasty! And a good price too. Very impressed. We will be back!!!!

Really good Italian food served with a friendly manner Pizza was fab and extra topping added without question Kelly was great and joined in the banter with our couples night out. Only difficulty was the stairs so perhaps not for those with mobility issues. Great value fir money.

Great restaurant almost cave like inside. The food was great really enjoyed it. Mussels and squid starters were both really tasty and cooked great. The pizza was one of the best I have had for a while the base was really nice. Other half had scampi for main which again was really tasty and full of flavour, made a change for it not to be in batter/breadcrumbs. Really tasty. Really good value for money as well. Would go back again if in the area

Walked out but seems like a good decision anyway. It was quite claustrophobic and we weren’t feeling comfortable with the number of people in a very cramped space during COVID. We were seated and waited over 20 minutes while the waitress took orders of those around us whom arrived after. The table next to us got their drinks and ordered their meal before we were even looked at. Even as we walked out the waitress couldn’t have cared less. We ate at the delicious and uber friendly Thai restaurant down the street.

Musells for starter. Very tasty but 7 didn't open. My wife had chicken pasta for main over cocked both chicken and pasta. My pizza was far to think and doughy. We waited 45 minutes for the starter and over an hour for the main course. Not good when you have a hungry 6 year old with you.

Fantastic food and visited the next evening and we were not disappointed! Food, staff and ambience amazing! Well done to such a good team and would Recommend - 10/10 !!!

What an excellent place this is! Me and my partner came down to Great Yarmouth for the day and saw this little Italian we went down only to find they were fully booked until 8:30, which we agreed to and came back later and I’m so glad we did! The food was amazing and the service was great too they couldn’t do enough for us. Will be coming back when we’re next in Great Yarmouth for sure!

The food in this place in my opinion is amazing And I eat out with my girlfriend 3 nights a week so We have tried quiet few places over the years but this little restaurant was very authentic tasted very fresh I had a chicken Doria cooked in white wine diced onion mashrooms and cream it was incredible and I had a tiramisu for dessert and it was gorgeous too My girl had diced chicken dish cooked in herbs and tomato sauce with penne and lemon and lime cheesecake she loved everything we were both very pleased with the food so 5 star review

Very busy restaurant in the heart of Great Yarmouth You have to book in advance if not you won’t get a table The food was excellent the prices are really good comparing to most restaurants in town, a meal for 6 adults plus drinks was only 68 pound The stuff are friendly and polite Overall we are very happy that we dined in Albatross We are definitely coming back end of September

A bit full on with the Operatic ‘background’ music on loop...and for a basement restaurant could really do with air con ...(although found out on way out that they had it but were unable to use it with Covid!) food was ok but staff couldn’t get away from the table quick enough...could be more attentive ...OMG can still hear Pavarotti at the end of the road

Lovely little Italian Restaurant. The decor and ambiance is great. The food was authentic fresh Italian cuisine. The Pinot Grigio wine was beautiful and the staff were friendly attentive and happy. If your going to Great Yarmouth and want Italian book this place quick. Locals use it regularly so tells a story itself in my opinion and the chef (Mario) came out of the kitchen to say hello.

Lovely meal went to this restaurant based on reviews booked table as very busy so didn’t want to miss out very nice would recommend

Great no amazing find, we had 5 different meals all were cooked and served at the same time, food tasted amazing as was the presentation, small kitchen rare to find a team that puts so much effort into what they do, very good wine menu, the staff are great, have a sense of humour make sure everyone has got what they need, I can not recommend this restaurant more highly, enjoy

We didn’t book a table but had a warm friendly welcoming. They quickly sat us to a table which we was very grateful for, as everywhere else was busy. Plenty of options for food and drink on the menu, good prices too. We had a lovely garlic bread for starter. Delicious spaghetti dish and A pizza for mains. They served us so quickly and so politely, with everything going on and being busy. Would definitely recommend and visit here again!

The staff were accommodating as we did not pre book but they provided us with a table and were friendly. The food sadly was not great :( The garlic bread was literally a baguette sliced and my carbonara was watery and bubbly which I reckon wasn't made fresh and came from a packet.Ended up having a few mouthfuls and left the rest !My son had a basic margherita pizza which he ate and said was okay.

Nice family meal. Quality of food was very good. We had pizzas, spaghetti carbonara and seafood tagliatelle.

Dined here on a Thursday evening with our son and we loved it. Small restaurant but the food was fresh and tasty. Menu was a good size considering most restaurants have downsized their menus. The waiting staff here was friendly and attentive especially as they were short staffed, they worked very hard. Nice atmosphere and clean. My son especially loved the garlic bread and pizza. Thank you for a lovely night out

Yuck!Well, this was a unique experience. This is the first time I have ever been expected to dry my hands on toilet paper.The food was average and the white wine at room temperature.But, the toilets were really off-putting. Wet, without a hand dryer or paper towel. Didn't inspire confidence in the food...Oh, and as for the Eat Out to Help Out, "No, we're not doing that."

Wonderful food, lovely staff and a good chef. What's not to like. Had to book because it is a popular place. Not too big a menu so choosing is not too bad. If you return and the chef recognises you you get a drink on the house. This is my second visit in 2 weeks.

Went for a nice meal with the girlfriend. We were immediately greeted by friendly faces even though they were really busy we were seated very quickly. Very vast and appealing menu covering all the things you would expect from an Italian. I had the pepper steak and she had the tortellini, both were absolutely fantastic and prices were very fair for the high quality of food. The restaurant was nice and quaint with low music playing creating a lovely ambience. If you fancy an Italian this is definitely the place to be! Thanks again for the warm friendly service and fantastic food will definitely be back again!

AVOID! Shocking food and serviceThe family went here on recommendation but we left very disappointed. My son and I wanted a really good filet steak and the girls fancied spaghetti bolognese. This restaurant seemed to fit the bill. I’ll get straight to the main issue in that there is no way on earth it was filet steak that we were served. My partner questioned the waitress and she came back after speaking to the kitchen explaining that it had been tenderised. I’m not sure what’s worse about that sentence. Is it the fact someone would feel the need to tenderise a filet steak or think I was stupid enough to believe something of completely the wrong shape and texture could be a tenderised filet!! Apart from performing my own autopsy I’m not sure how I’m supposed to disprove the cut of meat. I will say this though, I’ve had my fair share of filet steaks in my time and this was definitely a cheap cut of meat they were charging £23 for. Now back to the waitress. OMG. My partner ordered me a beer to be told “we don’t have that!” The same happened when she ordered a 2nd make of beer. My partner questioned the waitress with “it’s listed in your menu” to which she replied “I’m not sure what’s in the menu but I do know what’s in the fridge!” When the beer arrived it came with a 3 inch head on it. I can only imagine she poured it from the roof. She literally threw our cutlery on the table and when delivering the food all social distancing went out the window. I really hope this isn’t her main job and the comment “You’re sooo welcome” each time she left the table was so cringeworthy! We were asked to sanitise when entering the restaurant so you’d expect the toilets to be clean and functional. NO, I’m afraid not. The hot tap was seized solid so I could only wash my hands with cold water and there was no means of drying your hands. I had to use toilet paper to dry my hands but clearly the person leaving before me hand’t thought to do so as the door handle was soaking wet. It says it all when you have to find a hand sanitiser to clean yourself properly after washing your hands in the toilet. My daughter left practically all her pasta and said it tasted “funky!” We couldn’t wait to leave and will certainly not be returning.

Been in this Italian restaurant twice w’ve tried a variety of dishes bolonaise trecolara salad veal Latina and piazza the flavours were spot on top notch my favourite was the chiken Doria in onion mashroom white sauce with wine and double cream The stuff very polite can’t do enough for you So if i am going out for food deffo it’s Albatross

Lovely little restaurant food was fabulous and staff were very attentive very good value for money. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience

We dined in Albatross three times while in yarmouth And I can honestly say the food and service are beyond expectations That’s why we came back another two times and booked for end of august can’t wait

This was our first and last visit to the restaurant! First of all I was served flat coke from a sharing bottle then my starter of calamari came and there was plastic in it. The waitress spoke to the chef who said it was from where the squid hadn’t been washed properly. The main came and it was average at best. I would never visit this restaurant again and advise others against it.

In first i need to say that i am a real Italian, but this is a insult to say that he servs real Italian food. We ordered ,one cannelloni alla piacentini, and tree spaghetti alla Napoletana, that consists in tomato sauce and Basil,after waiting for over one hour, the food has arrived, but when we went, to eat there was some tomato sauce and WATER, so much that we refused to eat the dishes.so the waiters changed the plates and brought the cannelloni just like the one of my daughter, but when we tried to eat the cannelloni they were uncooked and the felling had so much garlic that you could kill a fly at 10 years from you. So we left the dishes, and we paid 35 pounds for not eating. Since I have many followers I will give you one advance do not go to eat at Albatross restaurant if you want to live!!I really would say that the sheff needs to close the Restaurant, go to Italy to learn ouwer traditions, and then maybe re open the Restaurant. Because this is a insult to our tradition food.

This was our first visit since the change of ownership. The atmosphere/ambience, was not how we remembered it.... however, the staff could not do enough for you, they were friendly and helpful, the food was great. We are not local, but we always come here when we visit Yarmouth.. The last time we came was approx 2 years ago and one of the original Italian chefs ( who still works there part time) remembered us and came out to say hello, he also got us a drink on the house. Amazing experience, will return here every time we visit Great Yarmouth. Thank you Albatross...x

A real gem of a restaurant in Regent Road, lovely food, great service, reasonable prices and just round the corner from where we live! Will be back for sure!
